  1. I thought it was good and obviously apart from one or two instances where it was kind of "It looks like dirts flying at us, wow." very well used, but it really didn't do it for me. At least not to the extent it has everyone else. My eyes felt strained, it was hard to focus on more than one thing and sometimes it just made everything very confusing (the chase scene). I enjoyed it where it worked, I just didn't think it worked as well in certain parts. It's not like I went in with all the hype either, I actually went in expecting it to be a let down and was presently surprised, but at the moment it still feels like they need to polish off the 3D. Like it's almost there, but some of it's still just really blurry or flickery.

Did you see it in IMAX 3D or just on a regular screen in 3D? I saw it at an IMAX so I wonder if the screen size made the difference in clarity because I didn't notice any fuzziness.

  2. Can't believe you didn't like the 3D. I thought it was amazing and really brought the movie to another level. It wasn't just thrown in there so stuff could fly at the screen, it was more in there so you feel like you are actually on Pandora. I personally don't know how much more they could upgrade it after this, it was just downright perfect for me.

Slipped into Australian a few too many times for it to not be obvious.

Also, I don't think they ever mention that he might not actually be Australian. I mean you could easily just figure maybe he spent some of his childhood in Australia and then moved to the US and so his accent is kind of both. Just saying, it's never said in the movie he's from New York or anything.

  3. Avatar - 5/5

Saw it in 3D IMAX. First movie since Jurassic Park where I sat there with my jaw open without realizing it. There won't be a more visual spectacle of a movie... I guess until Cameron does his next one.

I also cried a bit towards the end too. But I'm a big whimp.

  4. Guillermo del Toro is actually doing a Frankenstein movie, at some point after he's done filming The Hobbit.

So sometime in 2015 then? :crying:

Seriously, I was super excited when he signed onto the Hobbit but now I'm annoyed. We could get 2 or 3 Del Toro movies in that time frame. I really want to see his At The Mountains of Madness too! Damnit.

  5. R-Point 4/5

We popped this sucker in a few hours ago not sure really what it was other then some kind of spooky war movie. Damn, I didn't think it would be so freakin' intense. The ending was a bit of a let down but everything up to that point was awesome.

  6. The Patriots didn't need to go undefeated, but when you're 14-0 or 15-0, why the hell wouldn't you go for 16-0?

because that was Bill Bellichek. this is the guy who leaves Tom Brady in to go up 56-0 on Tennessee or run up the score on other teams but takes him out when the Saints are up by 21.

Oiy, the Patriot love is so high here. I think Bill Belichick could cure cancer and some people would throw it back in his face thinking he was being egotistical trying to play god.

Moving on, so in my weekly pick em's at my work I'm stuck on the Cowboys/Giants game. Any one got any good insight?

  7. In all fairness, the Saints have been doing that to every defense they have faced. It's not like that's Matthew Stafford and the Lions out there throwing on your boys. The Pats will be ok. But I think it's more obvious now that the Saints aren't the "Texas Tech of the NFL" as I've heard over the last few weeks.

I can't decide which I want more as a Superbowl...Colts/Saints or Colts/Vikings. Both I think have epic game written on them.

  8. First season of Lost - 5/5

I never got into the show because I missed the first two seasons and then couldn't jump into the third. I sat down to watch the first few episodes and couldn't stop watching. Normally I'd be upset that I wasted a whole day, but that was such an awesome season I couldn't stop watching.

  9. And we'll all laugh and laugh at the Patriots.

And wow, Belichick has a hard on for going for it on on 4th down tonight.

Fair enough, right now Patriots defense is so bad they wouldn't even be able to stop Brady Quinn, let alone Favre or Manning again. Just as long as they finish with a better record then the Jets then I am happy. Although they better use all those picks they got and really make-over this defense because that was just sad.

  10. Sucks The Patriots defense is as bad as it is. If I didn't like Drew Brees as much as I do I would be more upset but really, I want both The Colts and The Saints to go undefeated just to laugh and laugh at Mercury Morris.

  11. I think I've figured it out. The Bronco's can only win when they've been written off. It took a 6 game win streak before people started thinking they were the real deal. Then, they lose 4 in a row and people say they have peaked. At that point they go out and demolish the Giants tonight.

So if you are a Bronco's fan, going forward make sure you keep saying how the Bronco's are overrated. (Y)

  12. Kenneth Branagh's version of Hamlet 5/5

Best Hamlet movie adaptation I've seen, and I've seen them all at this point. Right up there with Titus for me in terms of Shakespeare adaptations.

Seriously, so awesome. Did you get the proper subtitled version or the slightly dumbed-down one?

It was subtitled. It's the version on Netflix.

  13. You said you understood the reasoning behind it, the reasoning being he didn't believe his offense could stop the Colts no matter where they were on the field. You have Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Randy Moss and three yards to go. He took a chance and it almost worked. Again I think the defense screwed up by stopping Addai on the one yard line and would have given them over a minute to get a field goal. He wasn't trying to prove he was a genius since apparently everyone thinks it was a dumb move. He probably talked with Tom Brady and Brady probably assured him they would get it. He had more faith in his offense then his defense at the end of the game, it's that simple.

And it's a horrible play call given their position on the field. If you're scared you can't stop Manning on a 60+ yard drive, why would you be any less scared at the possibility of giving it back to him with 28 yards to go? The reason it's dumb is because of where he made the play call, not the idea of trusting his offense more than his defense.

Seems like we are going in circles here. In my opinion, I don't think the Patriots defense could have stopped The Colts from marching down from anywhere on the field. I think he put more faith into his offense to pick up the three yards. If he felt his defense couldn't stop them from scoring from say the 60 yards out, I don't think he was expecting them to get the stop at the 20.

And again, I felt that had they simply let Addai run into the end zone with a minute something left, the Patriots would have gotten the ball back with one timeout, more then enough time to possibly get in field goal range.
