  1. Mitrovic seems so entertaining, one of those players that will always be involved, whether for good or bad reasons.

Montero was brilliant today. Terrorised Janmaat, and always managed to beat his man or commit a few defenders towards him. A winger who likes to stay out wide, has pace and trickery, and can also produce something at the end of it. Newcastle were very poor though. Stuck with the game because it was the one my usual stream was showing, but it was never really a contest, even less so when McClaren went 4-5-0 after about 55 minutes for damage limitation.

  2. I wonder how many of the Liverpool fans crying for Lacazette on Twitter have actually seen him play a full 90 minute match? Lyon weren't in Europe last season, and I really doubt many are avid Ligue 1 watchers. I guarantee most fans had only heard of him because he was brilliant on FIFA Ultimate Team.

  3. Sterling is better off at Man City than Liverpool. One, he'll be played in his best position rather than stuck up front or as right wingback. He'll have quality players like Aguero and Silva around him that will take the pressure off him and allow him to learn a bit more as a player (like Suarez and Sturridge did). And he'll be able to be rotated a lot more than he was at Liverpool. I find it curious that people in the media think Liverpool are the best club for him - they've managed him poorly this season because they constructed their squad poorly and had to rely on a 20 year old kid to plug the gaps and be the main man for a large period of the season.

  4. Arsenal have signed the Romania Under-16 captain Vlad Dragomir from ACS Poli Timisoara for €100,000 (£71,000) and he will begin his career at the north London club as a first-year scholar. The midfielder, who was wanted by Internazionale, has been pictured holding an Arsenal shirt alongside Dick Law, the club’s transfer negotiator, and his agent, Catalin Sarmasan. “I am very glad and I hope not to disappoint anyone,” Dragomir, who signed a three-year contract, said. “The Arsenal offer seemed the best to me, I felt that this is my place.” Arsenal will announce the full list of their first-year scholars next week, with the majority of them having progressed from the club’s Hale End academy. Sarmasan said: “I offered Vlad to Arsenal a year and a half ago and they have monitored him closely. In my opinion, he is one of the most talented young players in Europe at the moment.”

    What a name.

  5. "Sterling in NEW hippy crack shame...50m? You're having a laughing gas!"

In the paper today. Was he fined for his actions the last time, or was his apology deemed enough?

I don't remember hearing anything about how the club dealt with it.

The last time that kind of story was in the papers it was months after it happened. You could tell by the fact it was before he cut his hair.

I wonder if its the same stuff his agent is on? :shifty:

I believe Rodgers "had a talk with the boy".

  6. The only bit of hope for Newcastle is that Sunderland have a very tough run of fixtures, and will probably need 2 wins from their last 5.

    Southampton (H)
    Everton (A)
    Leicester (H)
    Arsenal (A)
    Chelsea (A)

That's a tough run of games for any team, let alone Sunderland who have only won one game in the league since January.

  7. City would need a big change of personnel in their squad to fit Klopp's style of football, namely they need more energy in there to play his style of pressing. The youngest player they had that started at the weekend was Aguero and he's 26. I don't think Klopp is a good fit for City, unless they really want a manager in to build a legacy rather than the sort of ultra-quick success they have been going for.
