  1. 3 Body Problem is a pretty damn good show (I wasn't aware of the book series until watching). A little hard to get into if you're not well versed in physics concepts but I feel like they do a good job of explaining what's going on. I didn't realize until a few episodes it was from the Game of Thrones showrunners, but it makes sense given the number of British/GoT actors in the series.

  2. I wonder if they even introduce Dr. Doom in the first movie. If I was Marvel, I'd want to try something different than the first two Fantastic Four "debut" entries but I'm not sure who else they'd use as the main villain. With this cast announcement, I think Michael Fassbender would be a great choice for Dr. Doom if they aren't going to use him as Magneto.

  3. So, I'm super late to the show obviously but I just watched this entire series over two days this past weekend and I really enjoyed it. Looking Glass/Time Blake Nelson and Sister White/Regina King were absolutely great in it. In regard to the ending, when she first ate it, I figured she would go out to the pool afterwards since Cal said "I need you to see me in the pool for later" and we'd get the cliffhanger we got. But thinking about it for a few days, I wonder if the egg was used a symbol and that with her eating it, she would get pregnant (since they had no biological kids), and the kid would end up either being "John" or a kid that has his powers.

I wish there was another season. Even if it wasn't directly related to this story but other goings on since either in the same timeframe or other periods in the timeline.

  4. Everyone else is entitled to their opinion but I see no reason Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod, McGwire, etc. shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame based on their on the field performance.

Say what you will about using steroids, HGH and PEDs but you still have to go out there and make contact/get people out. Players in the 70s and 80s were taking all kinds of drugs/amphetamines and if you don't think those are PEDs, you're crazy. I didn't see those guys not getting votes. Plus, all of the (alleged) racists and criminals that are already in there - either remove those guys for the "character clause" or let the other guys in.

  5. Spoiler

Loved the movie. GotG was and still is my favorite MCU movie and this movie didn't disappoint. I had a feeling Rocket wouldn't die even though everyone thought it would happen. They did get me with Quill though, I thought with the whole going back for the Zune thing because of how music was tied into him and the whole group, that it would be a good way to end the character after he helped save Rocket, if Pratt was done. Then I realized Adam Warlock was still around and needed something to do. 😆

He doesn't have to exercise the no trade clause. It's just there to assure him that he has a say in where he'd go.

It's possible he stays on the team but the lower cap number makes it way more likely a team would be interested in trading for him than the previous number.

Ah, interesting.. Should be a fun season with that looming.  Hopefully they can deal him quick then.

No dead money would have been $1M or so. This is obviously to get some relief on the cap # and make it more palatable for a team to trade for him between now and the deadline. Basically just they don't have to just cut him for nothing and can wait to see how things shake out.

There's a no trade clause in there and I believe a no tag clause, so he will be a Niner this year and definitely be a free agent in 2023 unless Lance just fails miserably.

I loved a lot of The Batman, do think I agree that it ended up running about 20 to 30 minutes too long but I feel that about a lot of movies these days (I fucking loved Licorice Pizza but in the last twenty minutes I just kind of started switching off).

I thought it was really cool the way it felt like it kind of synthesized a load of prior iterations of Batman in pop culture in a really organic way. There's also stuff I thought was just deeply funny, even if the other three people in the theater with me were dead silent.

The "thumb drive" gag is pretty much exactly what an R-rated version of Frank Gorshin's Riddler would have pulled off, the reveal of The Twins felt very much like a B:TAS/Burton Batman thing and made me chuckle, and holy shit Penguin roasting Batman and Gordon for their shitty Spanish was fantastic.

Also loved Batman dropping the "I am vengeance" line and then multiple characters calling him "Vengeance" like it's his actual name. The fact that this Batman feels really, truly street-level and a little constrained in what he does and what he knows rules. I love that he has to get into the Iceberg Lounge by knocking on the door and being invited in rather than being hypercompetent at everything.

    Spoiler

A great callback to vampires needing to be invited in for R-Pat.

  9. Hearing it is most likely the Commanders, which just sounds strange but probably the best out of that bunch besides WFT. I think WFT is a good name for them but you can't pass up an opportunity to move more and new merch.

That looks so bad : /

Carnage himself looks great but the dual voices/slapstick moments are so out of place with the tone of the rest of it.

I mostly agree. I like that Venom talks to Eddie but it just feels like they are trying to make Venom into Deadpool.

Did anyone like Days Gone? What is a good game to get my hubby after he is done that. Obvious zombie games like TLOU and Dying Light he already beat.

I really liked Days Gone but I know a lot of people that didn't. It did tend to get very repetitive but I loved killing massive hordes of zombies and the shoot 'em up style. It was a nice change of pace from games like TLOU.

  12. Sharon Carter issues/theory

    Spoiler

Theory going around that could explain the Sharon Carter issues - it's a Skrull and not Sharon. Would definitely make sense with how much power she has seemingly acquired since The Blip and especially with the end credits scene where she is calling someone about having access to classified technology and such.

This show was definitely a weird one for me. The first three episodes I really wasn't that into it, there were moments but the reconning of parts of Zemo's character was off and the Sam/Bucky dynamic missed more than hit. By the end though, I was on board and really enjoyed how it played out. Looking forward to more stuff.

Hang on, didn't Hayward show footage to SWORD/Dennings etc where Wanda broke in to a secure facility to steal Vision's body? So either he has completely manufactured that or Wanda showed Agnes a fake memory as to how Westview came to be. Hope it's a loose end that's tied up, but there seems to be a hell of a lot of them to tie up.

    Spoiler

You don't actually see Wanda take Vision's body. In Episode 5, you see basically what Wanda showed us in her memories and the video cuts out just after she lands by Vision's body.

INTs aren't the best indicator of how good a DB is. I mean if you're Ed Reed they are but for a CB or a lot of elite safeties they simply do not have the ball thrown to them a lot if they're truly great. It's kind of like tackles for ILBs, they can get a ton of tackles if they're out of position a bit and let TEs catch on them all day or RBs plow through them and drag them 5 yards.

Very true. Admittedly, I didn't watch many Patriots games but the ones I did watch that kid was all over the field making plays, which I'm sure had a lot to do with Gilmore being the other DB in that secondary. I think that almost makes his INTs that much better though because the QBs were "picking on" him more and he made the plays. Not going to argue with Ramsey being selected though because like you said and I mentioned, the great DBs don't have many balls thrown towards them.
