I think you'll likely need to change it to 442 but the safest one is to just change it to 444... I haven't used CHMOD for along time so I can't explain what the different columns of the numbers for but I know that 4 means that it can read/write and something else... where two is only read from. I am assuming you know what CHMOD is and how to CHMOD, ofcourse by CHMOD I mean via FTP and not actually by using Linux/Unix.

Hiya guys I'm going to set up a home page to post my ramblings about anything and I've come to the designing part of the process and I had an idea of where I wanted to go. But as I was designing the layout I've lost my vision of what I wanted. I want to keep the layout simple so I can add CSS to allow the visitors to dynamically change the colours (buttons in the top right). Meaning I don't want too much dependancy on images. Also the scrollbar is just there to show me where the content is going as I'm hopefully going to implement SSI to make the header and footer be shown on the page without having the code on every page. So any tips on the layout, any advice, feedback, critics are welcome.

Seeing as its been a few days since a vote i say we declare Mike Dude the winner as he has the most votes. Well done everyone and also thanks for those who gave comments on all the graphics. Maybe we could start a series on the different Mythologies as I fell confident to say everyone enjoyed the rules.

Although I hate add-on filters just go around the web and see what takes your fancy. If you do alot of one effect then maybe look for a filter that does it all with one click of a button. Its not what other people think its only about your opinion and if you want a set filter get it and ignore everyone who damns you to hell for using the filter.

Heres my entry, in my opinion its nowhere near what it should of been, but then again at this moment nothing in my head is clear enough for me to put into action. Its about Aphrodite the greek goddess who married a cripple smith and then repeatedly cheated on him with others and born their children. All information is from this web page http://messagenet.com/myths/bios/aphrodite.html. No stocks was used in this gfx, pure photoshop,well except the fonts used which there are three. The grungy type background is supposed to represent the immoral acts she commited and the verticle motion blur is what I see as being the pure energy within her.

you can do the border as you go or at the end, i wouldn't recommend doing one till the end just incase one graphic uses the same colour at the edges and the one after forgets about the border I'm sure if you just set up a set of rules then the other posters at EWB would join in, just try not to be too restrictive I would help out but seeing as I have very little time I can't, although any questions and I'm sure I can pass some comments on them

why don't we do it freestyle, all the requirements are is that its based around greek mythology... oh and a deadline might be useful
