  1. The video that showed your fighter at the press conference / weigh-ins looked really, really cool. Is the game going to have ring entrances too? I hope so, even if most of them are plain.

The one developer they never show but you hear about in the Gametrailers videos, Omar, he said that entrances are out since people just skip them anyways. I agree with that especially since the UFC really doesn't have special entrances like DREAM or Strikeforce. I agree that presentation wise it would have been cool but they would have been skipped after a little while anyways.

  2. Yeah I'll be hoenst, EA MMA at this point does not look that pleasing to the eye. I understand that it's a ways away from actual release but unless they really go all out I think UFC's game with win the battle.

I'm hoping EA MMA takes advantage of Fight Night's graphics as they were pretty damn good if you ask me. However the career mode was pretty "meh". It was basically menus and then fights. Much like last year's UFC mode but I think UFC has beefed up the presentation this year. Less menus and some cut scenes, things like that. I like that sort of dramatic edge put to a solo sport game career mode.

  3. Mankey is your friend vs Brock :)

I've got one now but cannot level him up. He just dies too quickly. I don't have enough cash for any potions so I'm pretty much screwed. I may just start over since I'm not to far in the game.

  4. I've absolutely fallen in love with Pomplamoose's cover of Lady Gaga's "Telephone". It's got a very soulful and 80's pop feel to it which I love. They took out Beyonce's verse so it's somewhat short but they did an amazing job on the actual musicianship aspect of it. Lots of layers and the vocals by Nataly Dawn are incredible. They do lots of covers and sometimes her voice doesn't fit (Beat It) but on this song it's perfect.

  5. I've been thinking about Pokemon a lot lately out of nowhere. Feeling nostalgic I guess. I started playing Pokemon Yellow tonight for the first time since it came out. It was the only one I ever played but I loved it. I was right in the middle of Poke-Mania with the cartoon and trading cards. I actually added the cartoon to my Netflix list. The first two discs arrive tomorrow and I'm pumped. Now if only I could remember how to beat Brock...

  6. The EA MMA stuff looks pretty good and I imagine by the time it comes out which is anytime between August and December from what I've heard, I'll be done with UFC 2010. I pre-ordered UFC 2010 earlier today and if EA ends up looking good as well I'll probably buy both this year.

  7. The PS3 is getting a bunch of exclusive content:

Royce Gracie, Jens Pulver, and Dan Severn as fighters. Also a blu-ray with five classic fights and exclusive classic fights gameplay. I'm not sure but this might be only through Gamestop.

Also if you pre-order regardless of system you get Roy Nelson, Marcus Jones, James McSweeney, and Brendan Schaub. I was going to pre-order this anyways but now I guess i'll get it on the PS3 instead of the 360.

  8. No actually I can't do anything when I download a demo or anything of the like. Even if I select download in background if I then go and watch a movie or play a game, it just pauses the download until I return to the main menu of the system. If that's a problem only I face then scratch it off the list of cons. It's annoying but if it's not a widespread issue then you probably won't run in to it.

  9. Well I have both so I can give you the pros and cons of each:

The PS3 has the Blu-Ray player and is probably one of the best Blu-Ray players on the market. The online is free though I have never used Home or played any games online. I find their system for handling downloads to be inferior to the 360's. It takes longer per download and for me, I can't do anything else while it I'm downloading something. I do like that they use actual U.S dollars for their currency whereas the 360 uses points.

The PS3 also had lengthy download times when you have to update your game or install it to the hard drive. I've never had an update on the 360 take more than a minute or so. On the PS3 you better go make a snack because you might be there a while.

On the 360 side even though it costs $50 a year, XBOX Live is a far superior online service. I prefer their layout and method of selecting and downloading things. If you don't want to pay for online on the 360, you can still download things but you can't play online with your friends. It all depends on what kind of gaming you do. Also the 360 does not have built in wireless like the PS3 does.

If you have Netflix, the 360's set up blows PS3's out of the water. It's fast and easy to use whereas the PS3 is very slow and sometimes whole menus don't load.

When it comes down to games most can be played on either system. Sometimes though one system has an advantage over the other. That's on a game to game basis though. You have to figure out what exclusives appeal more to you:

The PS3 has: Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank, Heavy Rain, MLB The Show, and MAG/SOCOM 4

The 360 has: Gears of War, Halo, Fable, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead, and Mass Effect. It should be noted that the 360 often gets exclusive timed rights to add on's like Call of Duty map packs and the GTA IV expansions.

My whole theory on it is that I look at my PS3 as a Blu-Ray Player that can also play some incredible games. I look at my 360 as a game machine that can play a DVD or Netflix when I need it. Just look at some of the games you want to play, maybe what system your friends have and make your choice. You really can't go wrong either way.

  10. I've seen quite a few things as of late:

    Deadwood - 9/10

I'm about half way through the second season and it's quite the show. I missed it entirely when it was on so I decided to start from the beginning via Netflix. It's well acted but the constant attack of foul language starts to grind on you a little after a while.

    The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009) - 7/10

I remember when this came out I had zero interest in it. However I saw that it was on the instant Netflix and I was bored so I watched it tonight. I was actually pretty entertained however I couldn't help but thinking that the story would have been better if they made a few changes. Though I know it was based on a book so it's probably best not to change the ending.

    She's Out Of My League - 8/10

As far as comedies like this go, I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed it more than your typical Apatow film like Knocked Up. I doubt I'll laugh as much seeing it a second time at home, but in a crowded theater it was a pretty enjoyable film with some good jokes in it.

    Capitalism: A Love Story - 8/10

I usually like the Michael Moore stuff. I stay far away from politics or anything to do with what he usually talks about but I thought it was pretty in depth and gave me visuals and names to associate with things I had only heard about on the news. I added his documentary "Sicko" to my list so I'll see that soon.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day - 7.5/10

I thought this was a pretty good sequel. The original is better but I liked this one a lot. Some of the humor was pretty good and I did laugh out loud on occasion. I liked how it felt like a sequel, they didn't try to do something different. Same way of telling the story with the same actors. A fun movie.

  11. From my experience with tattoos, that design as is won't translate well. If you can live with changing some things I think you could end up with a very nice piece.

The names shouldn't be covered up, that's probably the first think a good tattoo artist would tell you. It pretty much voids the point of it being a tribute. Same goes for the steam from the nostrils covering the names. My guess is have the steam go behind the banner or turn it into smoke and have it travel upward.

I think you can easily get away with a red unicorn with orange/yellow highlights and a blueish mane to it. White is only used for highlights because it easily turns into another colour depending on how dark your skin is. I've stayed away from getting a certain tattoo because of the amount of white in it. I don't need it slowing changing into a red or yellow. As far as the dog tags go, I think you could just have them hang under the banner and people would still see the chain around the unicorn's neck.

Really thought just find a good tattoo artist and he can give you much better advice than I or anyone else can.

Idol you live in Philadelphia, New York right? If so, I would highly suggest taking the trip down into Syracuse and talking to Jesse Gabriel. He just did a piece on my shin last month and it came out amazing. Very vibrant and colorful, the dude is amazing.

  12. I too picked up The Show and am absolutely engrossed in my Road to the Show player. In my third year now, sadly still in the Reds AA team as the closer. I spent most of the previous year in AAA so I'm hoping to get back. Earlier today I had an insane game where I came in the bottom of the 8th and had to go all the way until the bottom of the 20th. 12 innings of pitching for my closer since I was all we had left. I ended up giving up two doubles in the 20th to lose the game. I racked up 250 points though because of it.

I haven't played the 2K baseball series since 2K7 but I loved that game. I heard it's better this year but lacks some of things that The Show has. I doubt it's a bad purchase though if you only have a 360.

You're in your third year and the game only came out on Tuesday? Jesus, man.

Since I'm not a position player, I don't play every day so it sims a lot. Though I will say because of that, you can't complete many goals. One of my goals was to record four saves in the next two weeks. I only was brought in once for a save opportunity. So that sort of sucked. Other than that, RTTS is absolute addiction. It's the best mode outside of franchise and exhibition I've ever seen in a sports game.

  14. I just finished my first play through of the DLC.

Very short, took me maybe 10 minutes. I knocked over an owl which the dude didn't notice when he came home. I hid in the room with the bath tub and snuck out when he was in the room with all of the stuffed women. Got away clean.

I'm not sure if I'll go back and play it again to see the other results as it seems like I'd have to do thing wrong on purpose to see them like get caught. I'm not sure how much it costs if you didn't get the pre-order card but I can't see it being worth more than two bucks or so.
