  1. A TEENAGER suspected of masterminding a global computer hacking operation targeting Sony and Nintendo has been arrested - in ESSEX

    article-2006118-0CA9DDD600000578-242_634x434.jpg.

Ryan Cleary, 19 — an alleged member of the hacking gang LulzSec — was arrested in Wickford and taken to a central London police station.

He remains in custody on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act and Fraud Act offences.

LulzSec is believed to be a splinter group of hacking community Anonymous — who have claimed responsibility for a string of online security breaches including attacks on the gaming giants.

hey also launched electronic raids on the CIA, the UK's Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) and the US Senate.

Soca, dubbed the British FBI, was reportedly forced to temporarily take its website down yesterday after a breach.

Claims that LulzSec had stolen the entire 2011 UK census database were denied by both the group and security sources.

LulzSec tweeted: "That wasn't us - don't believe fake LulzSec releases unless we put out a tweet first."

Cleary was detained at his home in a "pre-planned intelligence-led operation" by the FBI and Scotland Yard last night.

Neighbours described the teen, who lives in the bungalow with his mother and brother, as a "clever, well presented young man".

Local Dorothy Rounce said she was woken by banging in the early hours of the morning.

She said: "I heard car doors slamming so I looked out of the window and saw a big car driving away with him in it.

"I didn't think anything of it - I certainly didn't realise it was an FBI investigation or anything like that."

Her husband, James, added: "They moved in about ten years ago and have been pleasant neighbours.

"I think he had been away at university and had come back for the holidays or because he had finished his exams.

"You could tell he was very bright just from the way he spoke and presented himself.

"I knew he was into computers because we would often take in parcels for him and when I asked about them his mother said he was working from home and it was something to do with IT."

A police spokesman said: "The arrest follows an investigation into network intrusions and distributed denial of service attacks against a number of international business and intelligence agencies by what is believed to be the same hacking group.

"Searches at a residential address in Wickford, Essex, following the arrest last night have led to the examination of a significant amount of material. These forensic examinations remain ongoing."

Last week Steven Chabinsky, the FBI's deputy assistant director, said LulzSec were avoiding prosecution by using sites like Twitter to attract supporters.

Mr Chabinsky said: "These organisations have managed to use new technologies to connect to otherwise disenfranchised hackers to gather force and momentum in a way we have not seen before."

The FBI is placing "a lot of emphasis and focus on Anonymous and other groups that would be like them, through co-ordinated transnational efforts," he added.

Anonymous came to prominence last year when it launched digital assaults against MasterCard, PayPal and other businesses that stopped working with WikiLeaks.

  2. Possible spoiler for a new character to appear

THIS brief newslet posted at the website for Michigan television station WILX revealed a potentially interesting tidbit about the filming of, and a character in, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

According to Eaton County and Grand Ledge officials who didn't want to be identified due to confidentiality agreements, production crews from "The Dark Knight Rises" scouted locations in Grand Ledge's Fitzgerald Park last week.

They looked at the Ledges as well as a water treatment plant located inside the park. Sources say the area is being considered as a hideout for Batman sidekick Robin.

    Interesting (if true).

So here's the question (again, presuming these details are accurate): does "Robin" actually refer to Batman's sidekick Robin? Or, might someone be circuitously referring to Hugo Strange, who a bevy of recent rumors (like THIS ONE) have suggested might be played by Robin Williams? Yes, I know the piece indicates "sidekick" - but I wonder...

If WILX's source is referring to the sidekick Robin? As long is he's played by Justin Bieber, I'm all for it. For whatever it's worth, the WILX report does dovetail somewhat with recent indications that TDKR is scouting locations in Michigan (like THIS write-up at OnLocationVacations).

I'd also imagine that this kind of leak (if there's any validity to it), while fun for folks like us, could potentially dampen Team Nolan's interest in shooting in the area. Or, perhaps their interest was already dampened, hence the supposed leak?

Thanks to Dynamicb for pointing us towards this. Again, this is all rather...undefined...so consume with a grain of salt.

  3. Hi guys,

Hope you're feeling better Harry, get well soon!

Long time reader, occasional news feeder. Writing from rainy old London, England. Surprised that no one has commented on this, lucky me I guess. Was lucky enough to attend a key note speech at the London school of performing Arts university and was honoured to be in the same room as Keanu Reeves who was the guest of honour. Keanu was here promoting his new movie Henry's Crime which is opening shortly.

    keanu as always was his kind gentle self and spoke to the class for a good 45 mins about his big break in acting and his love for Shakespeare. the floor was then opened for Q&A and the following was note worthy;

    - Says he's prepping a action movie around the world of the samurai and that it will be a hard "R" rated 3D action feast that will deliver some great martial art set pieces. he's into 2 months of a 6 month training programme.

    - Spoke briefly about the possibility of Bill and Ted part 3 - ( Audience started laughing) but he assured us he's committed to the project.

this is where the fun begins. Some great info shared with us good people.....

    - Says he met the Wachowski's (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro's and con's of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie. Wachowski's are working on a movie called "Cloud Atlas" at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again.

    - Keanu spoke about the need to encourage writers to continue to focus on working on new ideas and that a good script was worth its weight in gold. For example he said the Wachowski's had just sold the most expensive script in history to Warner Brothers. a modern futuristic take on the legend of "Robin Hood". Says he understands WB paid $5 million for the rights and that from what the wachowski's have told him, it will be an action movie that would have the same impact visually and technically that Terminator 2 had. Confirmed that Will Smith has agreed ti headline the picture.

that was pretty much it guys, have to give kudos to Mr Reeves. A true gentleman and an esquire.

can't wait for the above to come to fruition. If you use this please refer to me as "El-Nino".

    Peace out gents.....

I don't really know what to make of this I didn't think 2-3 were that bad well not as bad as most other people seem to think they are anyway although there were nowhere near as good as part 1 but after the hate they got I am a little shocked to see they are going for 2 more.

  4. Actor David Yost -- who played the B.R. from 1993 to 1996 -- just gave an interview to "No Pink Spandex" -- and explained, "I was called 'f*ggot' one too many times [by the show's] creators, producers, writers, directors."

Yost added, "I know that my co-stars were called in a couple of times to different producers' offices and questioned about my sexuality, which is kind of a humiliating experience to find that out."

Yost claims it got so bad on the show that he became "worried that I might take my own life."

Instead, Yost took a break from Hollywood ... and only recently decided to start acting again.

Calls to Saban Entertainment -- which produced Power Rangers -- have not been returned.

I must say I'm shocked not so much by the guy been gay but how they treated him especially as back then a lot of Power Rangers stories evolved around everybody been equal.

  5. Rob Zombies Halloween

I watched it at the cinema and when it came out on DVD I was offered it for free from a friend who somehow ended up with 2 copys and I hated it so much I still wouldn't take it even though usually I am very big on having every movie in a collection even if I never watch some of them.

I haven't seen RZ Halloween 2 yet but most ppl I know who have watched it say it's even worse then the 1st one

  6. I personally feel this is either BS or if true will never happen but Johnny Depp maybe The Doctor in a Doctor Who Movie

Sources are reporting that a big screen version of Doctor Who, written by former showrunner Russell T. Davies, is slated for release in 2012. Those same sources are also reporting that Johnny Depp has been confirmed in the iconic role of The Doctor.

The rumor of an American movie adaptation of the classic British sci-fi series was originally raised when Russell T. Davies and show producer Julie Gardner announced their departure from the BBC revival of the show for Los Angeles in 2008 in order to develop projects for BBC America. Though both were mum on the idea of adapting Doctor Who for American audiences, it was eventually revealed that Torchwood was undergoing that very process. The idea of a Torchwood television series was originally pitched to Fox before eventually landing at Starz. (Fox Television itself is no stranger to Doctor Who, having been the distributor behind an attempted American revival of the show in 1996.)

Earlier this week, the news of Johnny Depp starring in Doctor Who appeared on article mill PubArticles:

Long-time producer of the television series Russell T. Davies reported that the reason he moved on from the show was due to the opportunity to transform the Doctor to the big screen. “Bringing the Who franchise to the theaters is a regeneration for the character beyond the usual one. A theatrical release has a greater range and can reach millions of more people than just the fans. There will be brand new concepts and the film will be just as adventurous, scary and humorous as the television programme. But none of us working the film will forget what makes the character great and interesting and the long-time fans will not be disappointed because yes, the Daleks make an appearance.”

The article goes on to say that the story will involve the Doctor going “on a journey through time and space with a crew of volunteers treating humanity’s illnesses brought on by invading aliens. He cures the bubonic plague and then goes to Africa to fight Ebola.”

The grain-of-salt quotient on this idea is MASSIVE, but it’s not like Russell T. Davies hasn’t introduced huge, odd-sounding concepts to Doctor Who before. He’s also admitted in his book The Writer’s Tale to routinely lying to press about story elements.

So it was with even greater surprise that movie studio sources confirmed with Tor.com today that, while it can’t comment on possible story elements, the casting of Johnny Depp as the Doctor for a 2012 film is confirmed.

If this bears out to be true, it introduces an enormous amount of excitement and uncertainty to the franchise. A movie version could make the Doctor a household name here in America but alienate old fans in the process. And what of Johnny Depp’s involvement? It is, obviously, too soon to decide on how any of this will play out. If it plays out.

I personally know one thing for sure: I certainly won’t mind seeing the TARDIS plastered on billboards all around the country.

Just say it is true what Doctor will he be The 12th Doctor and Alternate version of The 11th maybe they will have the movie in it's own continuity and he will be the 1st Doctor

  7. I don't think the Rory photo is a mistake but it a plot point maybe if the cracks started in Amy's house then the house and anything in it is not effected by any changers due to them bit like when in "Last of the Time Lords" when The Valiant was not effected when time tuned back as it was in eye of the storm

  8. I know this won't be it but how about The Valeyard this year we had The Dream Lord who may of been a earlier version of The Valeyard it could be in the end he turns good again and knows the only way to stop himself from ever becomeing The Valeyard is to put his past self into The Pandorica

  9. So apparently the rumor mill is a buzz with talk that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could indeed become The Riddler but I can't really find any site that I trust with anything substantial about it so take that with a grain of salt. If it's somehow true, though, I think he'd be a pretty awesome fit.

Also, I hadn't really thought of it before (and I know he was briefly mentioned in this thread earlier) but Sam Rockwell would be an awesome choice to play The Riddler as well. But with him playing Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2 (and with the possibility of him being back in future movies), I don't know if that would ever actually happen.

Why not Ryan Reynolds is playing both Green Lantern and Deadpool and Halle Berry was both Storm and Catwoman

  10. I think most of the people that year were awful housemates, the fact the winner was getting booed shows that. I wanted either Rex or Luke to win that year, they are the only ones I really liked

Getting booed already, must be a twat

Only 1 I liked that year was Rachael in fact she is still in my top 2 all time HM

  11. Nolan also said in the same interview that the third one would be the end. The third one will wrap things up instead of blow everything wide open; or something to that extent.

I would guess it's just the last one from Nolan if it goes well WB will just get someone new in to do Batman 4

On the subject of Nolan anyway he said when there is a JLA movie he does not want his version of Batman to be the one used as it will take away from his realistic version of Batman he doesn't want aliens and heroes with superpowers in his Batman universe.

The other heroes would be the same one used as in their solo movies even the same cast (Superman-Wonder Woman- Flash-Green Lantern and Aquaman are all getting solo movies in a few years) but Batman would be a different one altogether but if someone else takes over by then I guess that could change

  12. I don't think Amy and Rory will last past this season, I think they're guaranteed re-appearances in Season 6, but I think as far as being regular companions their destiny is kind of set in the date of the finale.

From what i have read since Amy has been confirmed as been the regular companion next year

  13. I have heard theories that the BBC or whoever is in charge of the UK acts purposely sends rubbish acts as they don't want to host it as from a financial point of view it will cost more to host than it would make back.

I'm not sure about that but I have heard the some other counties do as they simply can not afford to host it.

If that was the case I would sooner send an act what would do well but not good enough to win say good enough to make the top 10

  14. No one with any worth should risk doing it; because they'd look like a knob if they didn't get the votes. Isn't there like rules against professional singers doing it?

I don't think so over the years I often heard the commentators say the act is established in their own country sometimes even having On 1 hits I think this years winner is very well known in Germany and some other parts of Europe

  15. With the Amy love or or hate her thing I wouldn't be to shocked to see her replaced next series not that I am saying she will be or I want her to in fact I think it's more likey she will do at least 2 years but no more than that as 2 years is pretty average for a companion in fact if you just count the new series 2 years is a long time.

I do think she may have to tone down on thew short skirts though as that is getting complaints and it's not like it will change anything storyline wise if she wears a longer skirt

  16. I think this was my least favourite episode of series 5 but it was still good.

As for Amy I can take her or leave her she's not my favourite companion but not my least favourite either she is on about the same level as Martha I do like her more than I did Donna but if I'm honest that is more to do with the fact I can't stand Catharine Tate and when I say favourite companions I mean ever my personal favourites are Sarah Jane or Ace

  17. That's the point though, time's in flux, it can change, Jack is a fixed point in time, so God knows what happens when you throw a fixed point in time into a crack in time that is basically after time energy, it could well be the thing that turns him into the Face of Boe.

That could be a way to write him out if they don't plan on using him again (Also I have read that the future of Torchwood is in question) but even if they do want to still use him they could say it's the Jack from a million years into the future what does it

  18. Maybe Amy isn't a 'real' person!? Maybe she is some kind of fairy tale character brought to life by some kind of accident? Weirder stuff has happened before...

Could be but like one of my suggestions if that is the case then she will only be used this year as in the end everything will be put right
