  1. Holy prequel, Boy Wonder, the CW is prepping a series based on Batman sidekick Robin’s pre-Caped Crusader days.

"Smallville" exec producers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson, as well as "Supernatural" exec producer McG, are behind "The Graysons," which has landed a put pilot commitment at the netlet.

Just as "Smallville" focused on Clark Kent in the years before he became Superman, "The Graysons" will follow the world of Dick "DJ" Grayson before he takes on the iconic Robin identity and aligns himself with Batman.

Project reps the latest DC Comics franchise to be mined for the smallscreen by sibling Warner Bros. TV. McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision label is also attached.

Souders, Peterson, McG and Wonderland’s Peter Johnson will exec produce.

"The Graysons" is seen as a potential replacement for "Smallville" should that show end its run this season, which has been speculated. Should "Smallville" return next year, "The Graysons" might also make a strong companion piece.

CW insiders said they also see the "Graysons" development as a validating gesture by Warner Bros. that the company is still behind its 50% investment in the netlet, particularly following this fall’s strong openings for "Gossip Girl" and newbie "90210." They believe the studio wouldn’t risk bringing one of its prized franchises to CW if it believed the net was in dire straits.

In the one-hour "Graysons," which will be set in modern times, young DJ will face challenges involving first loves, young rivals and his family as he grows up. Souders and Peterson have come up with an original take on the character.

In the original Batman mythology, Grayson was a young acrobat and part of the family act called "The Flying Graysons." He was orphaned when a gangster sabotaged his parents’ trapeze equipment. Bruce Wayne took him under his wing and trained him to help fight crime.

Grayson later morphed into the character of Nightwing, as part of "The New Teen Titans," and a series of new Robin replacements were introduced.

Souders and Peterson serve as showrunners (along with Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer) on "Smallville," which has just entered its eighth season. They’ve been with the hit drama since season two, and helped successfully transition the show following the departure of longtime toppers Miles Millar and Al Gough.

In features, Peterson wrote "But I’m a Cheerleader," while Souders was behind "Tell Me."

McG’s credits also include NBC’s "Chuck" and the upcoming feature "Terminator Salvation." "The Graysons" reps McG’s second DC Comics sale this year: Wonderland is also behind the Fox project "Human Target," which Jon Steinberg is writing.

CW predecessor the WB tackled the Batman mythology with 2002’s short-lived "Birds of Prey," which followed a group of female superheroes who flew in to protect Gotham after Batman disappeared.

Burt Ward, of course, played Dick Grayson/Robin in the campy 1965-68 TV series "Batman." And several animated versions of the Batman story have appeared on the smallscreen through the years, most recently KidsWB’s "The Batman."

Bob Kane created the DC Comics characters.

To be honest I just don't see how this could work

  2. Hey it's better than the good ol days of Tape deck games I swear once a game I had took about 2 hours to load up (That was long I admit it was a Commodore 64 game if I remmber right )

I think the average waiting time was about 1-20 minutes.

  3. I'd take it back to the shop where he bought it from and explain they should of checked that as it should of been cleared out & restored to factory settings before they bought it off the last owner.

  4. Next years full time companion will be Catherine Tate

Catherine Tate accepts proposal to star in fourth series.

Catherine Tate is set to return to the TARDIS for the complete 13 week run of Series Four of Doctor Who.

Award winning comedian Tate will reprise her role as Donna, the runaway bride from last year's Christmas special, despite turning down the Doctor's invitation to travel with him at the end of that adventure.

When Catherine was asked if she would like to become The Doctor's new companion at the press screening of The Runaway Bride, she replied, "I would love to, but no one has asked!" Well, now they have.

"Catherine was an absolute star in The Runaway Bride and we are delighted that one of Britain's greatest talents has agreed to join us for the fourth series," announced Doctor Who's executive producer and head writer, Russell T Davies. "Viewers can expect more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008."

Catherine Tate : "I addedam delighted to be returning to Doctor Who. I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to travelling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey."

Freema Agyeman who has played Martha Jones, The Doctor's companion throughout the critically acclaimed third series, will return to the show to join The Doctor and Donna mid series.

  5. Christmas Special looks like it will be set on The Titanic but didn’t Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor say he was on board it

Something like “I was on a unsinkable ship once ended up clinging to an iceberg”

As well as that photo if the 9th Doctor outside The Titanic so could we get a cameo from Christopher Eccleston or even a multiple Doctor story if not they should at least mention that The 10th Doctor is trying to avoid him perhaps with a scene where Tennent ducks/hides and we see a familiar looking guy in a leather jacket pass by (if they didn’t give a frontal face shot it wouldn’t even have to be Eccleston)

  7. As for this whole girl deal I read 1 male will enter the house on friday and then more over the next few weeks

I wouldn't be surprised if in a week or so we have to vote to kick out a few (maybe 6) girls in exchage for 6 men.

  8. According to the papers, the one housemate is a cousin of Kieran Richardson. And if the silhouettes are real, the child genius has an awesome 'fro going on.
  9. Another rumour going around is The Big Brother Wedding.

They want 2 housemates to get married not a fake BB5 type wedding but a real legal wedding if 2 housemates agree they will get a car each as a wedding gift and big brother would prefer it to be a gay/lesbian wedding but a straight wedding would be great as well.

  10. I remember Teen Big Brother 2 of them shagged then it was kinda funny as in normal BB they had been trying to get them to do it for years in Teen Big Brother I think it happened on the 2nd day.

  11. I don't watch it but I guess it's a bit of news from the UK

    BBC close to losing 'Neighbours'

    Thursday, April 26 2007, 09:57 BST

    By Joanne Oatts, Media Correspondent

The BBC could be about to withdraw from negotiations for Australian soap Neighbours.

Last week, it was reported that rival ITV was in "advanced negotiations" with distributor Fremantle, and considering paying £80,000 an episode to acquire the soap. Though ITV insiders have said it could not finalise terms on additional rights, such as VOD and broadband.

The BBC has called Fremantle's demands "unrealistic and greedy", after its offer of around £70,000 an episode was rejected. The BBC currently pays £25,000 an episode for the soap.

BBC director of acquisitions George McGhee told Broadcast: "If a deal is not reached in the very, very near future, we will withdraw the money and move it elsewhere. We quite possibly will [move it by the end of this week]."

Five, owned by German media giant RTL which also owns Fremantle, is also believed to interested in acquiring the programme.
