I liked the first part of the diary, but I hated the ONS booking. Way too WWE-ized (even more than it's going to be in real life) for my tastes. Plus, the fact that every match was won by a WWE guy (except Angle, who is barely an "ECW guy") is a total joke. What kind of booking is that for a PPV designed to showcase ECW?
I mean Michael Cole? Cmon.
After all the hype of the most hardcore match of all-time, with all the bloodshed that took place - Terry Funk, one of the greatest hardcore wrestling legends of all-time jobs to a BELT TO THE FACE? A spot that is done in basically ever major title match? Big letdown.
And RVD-Cena just flat out sucked. The end reeked of WWE booking or old WCW booking when they'd just have guys randomly running in all the time. Having RVD, who claimed all leading up to ONS that he was getting screwed by the WWE and that he wouldn't get screwed in his house, in fact get screwed IN HIS HOUSE, and then he does nothing about it but shill the ECW TV show?
It's like.. "HEY WELL I JUST GOT SCREWED OUT OF THE TITLE AGAIN BY GUYS WHO WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE MATCH, AND WE ARE IN AN ECW ARENA AT AN ECW PPV AND COULD PROBABLY HAVE THE MATCH RESTARTED, BUT HEY GUESS WHAT.. WATCH ECW TV TUESDAY! BYE BYE NOW."
Really lame ending, sorry.

this song is so much better than 40+ year old dudes should be capable of. Slayer are the Sabu of metal.

I was gonna state it when that Bob Roberts mentioned it, but I don't think RHCP should be anywhere near this list. I like them, but I'd just see it as them getting on there due to having a long and successful career more than anything else. Since we already have people liek Bon Jovi on there due to their huge selling numbers as much as anything, it didn't need more.
I just don't think RHCP were that influential, at least until they nuetered their funk-rock style somewhat, in which case (aside from "BSSM") they became another rock act.

The only way you could ever get me to believe that stuff is if I'm there watching him float through the air live in person. Until then, it's fake.

How are RATM, Emporer, Slipknot, Soundgarden, Black Flag, Napalm Death, Fugazi, Blink 182 & Korn more important than Tool?
Rage Against the Machine were one of the very few successful "political" bands since the 60s. Their music was strictly political, but they went on to sell a shit-ton of records. Whether or not you agreed with it, they were saying something - without fear of backlash - in every one of their songs. One could argue that Rage had the biggest balls of any band in history.

For most of them, because the world doesn't begin and end in alternative metal.

How is Nirvana's impact felt today? They were an in-the-moment type of thing. Nirvana's rise, IMO, was due to the fact that hair metal was already dying before they hit the scene, and Axl Rose and GnR were imploding right as Nirvana was getting popular.
But what is their long term impact on music? People are still as rabid for GnR as they ever were, and many hair metal bands are still out touring and putting out records, and grunge music has pretty much gone by the wayside.
And as someone else stated, Tool aren't that influential. Sure, they do things on there own terms, they do good music, yadda yadda yadda, but thats it...and thats coming from a big Tool fan. You can at least pretty much pick out the influence of most of the bands on the list. -
Again, you think the underground scene matters, it doesn't. "True" punk fans called Green Day sellouts? What makes someone a "true" punk fan? That's elitist subculture bullshit that doesn't matter. Without Green Day, there would have been no 90s punk revival. Just like without Nirvana, there'd be no grunge movement. Ask any "true" grunge fan, and they'll say Nirvana is overrated. But your average person does not give a fuck about what makes them a "true" fan. They like the music they hear on the radio and see on TV, because most people don't want to go searching for music because most people don't care about liking a band two years before they're mainstream. People turn on the radio and listen to what they like, simple as that. Just like I said before, the greatest band in the world is probably playing in a bar somewhere and will only be heard by a couple hundred people. You have to realize that MTV, VH1, Kerrang, record labels and every radio station on the air are not in the world of art. They are selling a product. No different than the film industry, and no different from Wal-Mart. The music business is just that, a business. It's not about art, that's why Green Day's on this list and that's why Iron Maiden is number one.

Tool are hardly one of the most important bands of the last 25 years. Name one thing that they did that changed music.

I guess the obvious choice here would be "The Spaghetti Incident?"
Also I'd go with "10,000 days".

The Pink Spiders. They'll probably be all over your local rock radio station soon if they aren't already.
I really wanted to hate this band. But that song "Little Razorblade" has been stuck in my head for the past week.

HOW ON EARTH are Tool and Radiohead on this list? I don't think anyone can deny the effect these bands have had on music, whether you like them or not.
How is Green Day important? Because they hopped on the Bash Bush bandwagon and made a crappy pop record that preteen girls bought? There are so many more punk bands more important to music in the last 20+ years than Green Day.
BLINK 182?!!!
Garbage.

Don't bother logging on that early. If it says 8:45 for Axl, he won't actually hit the stage until probably 10:45.

I'm shocked that everyone is gonna be back for this. I figured Bam and Knoxville would be too "big" for Jackass now.

I was listening to The Documentary by the Game on the way home from work today and one thought went through my head when I was listening to some of the songs, specifically "Put you on the Game" and "Start from Scratch" was: Why the hell wasn't this a single? Anyways, what songs have you heard that deserve to be more widely listened to or that didn't get the hype they deserved when they came out?

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.
Storm In A Teacup = Top 5 RHCP song ever.
Don't even try to argue.

Eh, I guess I'm in the minority, but I just can't get into this song at all.
If that's the catchiest thing they have to offer from a 30 song album, then color me worried. It's RHCP totally on auto-pilot:
-Funky, bass driven verse: Check
-Guitar heavy, anthematic chorus: Check.
-Lyrics about California: Check.
The verse is boring, the chorus is totally forgettable, and the lyrics are just blah.
I had high hopes for this album, but I get the same feeling off of Dani California as I did the first time I heard By The Way, which is - "this is it?"
Sidenote: I just realized Californication was released 7 years ago. Fucking A, time flies.

Fox:
"Free Ride", "The Bernie Mac Show", and "The Loop".
CW:
"Everwood", "Half and Half", "One on One", "One Tree Hill", "Reba", and "Veronica Mars".
Duffy says in his opinion Scrubs, Veronica Mars, Sons and Daughters, Everwood, and Commander in Chief, all deserved to be saved despite low ratings and gave info. where viewers can call and write to try and get them renewed.
He says the way things are going next season could be the last season for Bernie Mac, The OC, The West Wing, Invasion, and The Loop if (as listed)some of them even make it to next season as it is.
And in his opinion shows that should be canned if not years ago are According to Jim, Fear Factor, Hope and Faith, Wife Swap/Trading Spouses, and ER.

Unquestionable Truth was a total ripoff of Rage Against the Machine. Just plain terrible. Durst tried to ditch the spotlight and create some non-mainstream cult album that would bring back all the "underground" fans and it was pure shit.
