  1. One of the assasin missions.

In the one where you have to take out a couple of guys heading for a chopper on the coast I decided to fly there in a helicopter of my own. Sadly I realised that their chopper had yet to take off, and I had to stop them from getting into it. In trying to make a panic stricken landing near the helipad I managed to sideswipe their chopper into the water, jump out of mine (which had landed on the helipad on its side), and gun down the fleeing bastards.

Florian's mission in the park (forgotten its title).

I just loved that whole mission really, the moped chase was really cool. The sheer number of people you run down is funny, and just the sight of Nico and the homophobe whizzing through the park on tiny scooters is fantastic. There were many times when I almost fell off the back while running over a passing jogger/aerobic man, and to finally see the target somersault off his bike in a shower of blood was satisfying in a "you bastard, you reduced my Serbian badass to a childlike race around the park, take that" kind of way.
  2. Anybody else go? I went with a group of friends from school but we got in pretty late and only saw two bands. Walking between venues was quite the piss take, but apart from that I had a brilliant time. I damn near got killed during Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s set, especially during Let's Make Out, when everybody decided that throwing beer cans and shoes everywhere would be a fun idea. New Young Pony Club weren't quite as riotous, but there was a great party atmosphere about the place.

  3. I'll do a list of what my life is like at the moment. I think doing a one summarising my life would take too much thought to do quickly.

    1. Up The Bracket - The Libertines

    2. Always Where I Need To Be - The Kooks

    3. Naive - The Kooks

    4. Killamangiro - Babyshambles

    5. Longview - Green Day

    6. Half The World Away - Oasis

    7. 86 - Green Day

    8. Don't Look Back Into The Sun - The Libertines

    9. Time For Heroes - The Libertines

    10. A-Hole - Bowling For Soup

    11. Semi Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind

    12. Untitled - Blink 182

    13. Fuck Forever - Babyshambles

    14. Let's Make Out - Does It Offend You, Yeah?

    15. We Are Rockstars - Does It Offend You, Yeah?

  4. 1. Westbound Sign - Green Day

Nice little three-chord track, easy enough to play. Basically sums up their style from that era: simple guitars, fast pace, upbeat bouncy tone. It reminds me of playing basketball on a weekend, mainly because my dad would play this album really loud on the way to the venue. Good times. It was like six months ago <_<

    2. Wake Me Up - Zebrahead

OOO! It links to the previous song! Kind of. I discovered Zebrahead while doing a music project on Green Day (there's the link!) and found them on a list of bands who had been influenced by GD. This isn't one of my favourite songs by the band, but it's okay. There's a drum solo at the start for no obvious reason. Fun.

    3. Another Girl, Another Planet - The Only Ones

Shoot me now, but I originally heard the Blink-182 cover of this song before this version. Shoot me again, but I like Blink's better. I sort of view them as two different songs as they have such different styles. This is all spacey and happy as opposed to Blink's more frantic style. Nice little guitar solo at the end though.

    4. I Miss You - Blink 182

Urgh. It's okay. Not one of my favourite Blink songs by a long shot, and I still fail to see how it gained more popularity than a lot of their better tracks. I do love the drums though, and Tom's verse (the second) can possibly go down as the most whiny passage of singing in musical history.

    5. Castaway - Green Day

Ah. I do enjoy my punk-pop. Another good one with a lovely main riff full of palm muting, although it can get quite repetative. Reminds me of summer. :w00t:

    6. Is It Just Me? - The Darkness

I loved the Darkness because they didn't take themselves seriously, yet still managed to produce some great songs. This is one of them. Occasional high pitched singing, singable chorus, delightfully out of place guitar solo. I can't really think of much else to say about it, so that'll do.

    7. The Story of my Old Man - Good Charlotte

Great song. Happy yet sad at the same time, and one of those songs that should be played at full volume OR ELSE. One of the best and most underrated songs on GC's best album I reckon.

    8. Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana

Meh. I only downloaded this one because it's a staple of my school's annual rock concert (along with Duality, any Oasis song, and um...Gay Bar...). It's alright, although frankly the singers at the concert put more effort in than Cobain. Too much effort. One of the speakers nearly broke BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT! I've never really been a fan of grunge, and only embraced the catchier side of Nirvana (that'll be Nevermind I guess).

    9. Half the World Away - Oasis

Only discovered this one because it was the theme tune of The Royle Family (which was excellent, I hasten to add). It's a great tune, and it gives a mixture of sadness and optimism. Damn you Noel Gallagher for being so fucking good at songwriting. The main reason I like this song was because it sort of acted as a catalyst for me listening to The Masterplan, Oasis' best song by an absolute lightyear. That's not because the rest of their songs are shit, far from it, it's because The Masterplan is so unbelievbaly good. Go. Now. Listen to it. GO NOW!

    10. You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison - My Chemical Romance

Well even if I didn't know what they did to guys like them in prison, I certainly did after listening to the song. Cheers MCR . It is a great song though, despite making the listener feel needlessly dirty and ashamed (I won't go down on myself, but I'll go down on my friends?! Genious. Horrible genious.)

  6. You didn't miss much. In fact I've found the whole series to be pretty disappointing other than one or two moments, or the odd line. I quite enjoyed the first series, particularly the Hitcher episode (me and my uni mates quoted the rap on and off for about three months >_>). Second series was good, but it was a shame they did away with the introduction segments. And this series has just been...meh, the songs have been utter shite and they just seemed to be going for bizarre rather than random and funny.
  7. I thought last night's was pretty average. No shamen or good Naboo moments (have Naboo and Bollo had any good lines this series?) If anything they should have swapped it with the Party episode, and made that the series finale.

  8. 7/10. Not too fond of some of the bands on there, especially U2, but it's saved by quality acts (Bloc Party, Muse, Arcade Fire).

    Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix

    Champagne Supernova - Oasis

    Dumpweed - Blink 182

    The Jester - Sum 41

    The Anthem - Good Charlotte

  9. 60s: UK hands down. The Who were great, and the Stones. I'm not a big fan of the Beatles but they were undoubtedly revolutionary.

70s: I would have said UK, but one of my all time favourite bands wins this for the US single handedly. The Ramones > Sex Pistols. It's a close one. I'm sorry for not being patriotic.

80s: I was never into Bowie or any of the electro stuff. I can just about tolerate Aerosmith and Van Halen etc, so the US wins it. God I hate the 80s.

90s: UK 90s music was for the most part awful. Green Day killing off grunge was not. US. I'm sorry Oasis. I'm truly sorry.

00s: INGERLAND! The Libertines bossed the new millenium. I'm really into a lot of new UK acts lately as well, so WE win this round! Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Fratellis, etc.

  10. I'd like to raise a point and read other people's opinions on it. At some point all of us have watched footy at home and swore at the useless ref, and today is no different. There are far too many match-changing refereeing desicions that go wrong each week. But do you think that if one of us was reffing a Premiership match, we'd be able to make desicions which we see to be so obvious on TV or in the stadium?

My own opinion on this is that the great majority of refs ARE shit, and some can't keep up with play adequately enough. Others are too indimidated by players, or too strict, or too easily conned by divers. There are a lot of reasons. I think that if an average bloke (with passable eyesight and the ability to run enough to keep up with play) went and refereed a top flight game there would be a lot less bullshit.
