  1. get

    Frontier(s)

    Penny Dreadful

and Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror (for a good laugh)

Frontiers is awesome, really really gory movie!

Penny Dreadfull is kinda akward and weird, but its worth it.

I just saw Mulberry Street. It was...weird I guess. Not too crazy about the ending.

Out of Frontiers and PD, which do you think is better?

  2. Noticed that most of these movies are dirt cheap, and looking to get a few of them. I already own Gravedancers (good), Lake Dead (bad, but in a good way), Dark Ride (ehh...not that great), Deaths of Ian Stone( great)...which of the others are good and which ones should I skip?

  3. I'm in a group called Fear 2 Stop (link in the sig!). Got some local radio play over the past year. All the stuff on there is home recorded; however, been able to get a pretty decent sound over the past few years compared to when we first started- no more cassette tape lol. Mainly experimental techno mixed in with 8-bit type deal.

  4. Well, there's Wilson Phillips, two of whom are the daughters of Brian Wilson, the other being the daughter of John Phillips from the Mamas & the Papas.

I still maintain there needs to be a band made entirely of second-generation musicians. Call 'em, I dunno, Legacy or something.

    ;)

  5. I wonder how Brian Wilson is dealing with this, the man being his idol and all.

I gotta agree with Skummy. This is the 2nd time in a year a celebrity has had to pay the piper, with OJ Simpson (finally) being the other one. Hell, he should've been locked up just for the way he treated his ex-wife Ronnie.

  6. Nothing wrong with the Vice City soundtrack.

Me? Listening to a mix cd I made...got some cool Robert Palmer stuff from his reggae days, the original version of Mad World by Tears for Fears (which to me is one of the best songs ever written), a little bit of Brian Eno, and some Daniel Johnston.

  7. Yeah...to be honest, what I have the most fun doing is actually watching the matches even more than playing it. It's surprising how easy it is to mark out, esp. when re-creating various matches. I just got through re-making the Wrestlemania IV tournament, and in my finals Ted DiBiase beat Ricky Steamboat. Even though it was a simmed match, it was actually fantastic.

  8. So I heard this song about a year ago, and heard it again for the the first time in forever. I do not know too much about this band, except that they have several tracks that get radio play on KTRU (which is a college radio station for Rice University and have played some of my own tracks) and they are weird as hell.

This is one of those songs that you just makes you shake your head.

  9. Oh snap...another show I watch.

Yo Gabba Gabba. That's my daughter's favorite program. It's cute as hell when she starts dancing as soon as she hears the theme music. So I've been seeing a lot of that (and Dora, too).

So yeah...my co-workers are daring me to dress up as DJ Lance Rock for the company Halloween party this year.

  10. Can anyone who's played Xenosaga Episode I and II tell me how they compare to the Final Fantasys?

Here's a tip...skip II. It sucks with a vengeance. As for I and III...honestly I prefer them to FF, although it's a matter of personal taste. The cinematics are very long in I, but I really dug the story. I like the setting a lot too, although I am a sucker for spaceships and planets blowing up and shit. The music's awesome, esp. in the first area in III.

I used to really love FF. It jumped the shark with FFX, though. When I first beat it, I remember feeling that it was a great game, but something felt wrong. In retrospect, that was when the series stopped feeling like FF. FFX2 was from the flaming pit of assfire & brimstone. FFXII was alright, but it didn't feel like a FF game to me. I have no desire to play FFXI, as I don't play online RPGs.

  11. Not everything they did after Exile was crap, as Businessman points out. Hell, their last two albums are the best they've done since their heyday. Take out everything from Undercover through Voodoo Lounge (I've never heard Stripped) and you got a better discography.

  12. Soundgarden (6) = Ultramega OK, Screaming Life/FOPP, Louder Than Love, Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, Down On The Upside

Pink Floyd (10) = Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Meddle, Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, The Final Cut, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell, Pulse

Muse (6) = Origin Of Symmetry, Showbiz, Hullaballoo, Absolution, Black Holes And Revelations, HAARP

Matthew Good/MGBand (11) = Audio Of Being, Underdogs, Beautiful Midnight, Hospital Music, Live at Massey Hall, Raygun, Avalanche, In A Coma, Loser Anthems, White Light Rock And Roll Review, Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts

Of those I only have about, nine CDs, the rest are all downloads.

Awesome....a fellow Floyd fan. Have you heard "Obscured by Clouds"? That's a criminally underrated album. I mean, most people give it high marks, but not enough people have heard it.

  13. I don't really watch a lot of TV. I used to watch House religiously, but haven't been feeling it with all the newbies. I've never watched LOST, but have read the recaps until I got confused and gave up. Really the only tv I watch now is when American Idol comes on.

    Oh and wrestling.

  14. Second Tier

The Beach Boys, for being better than The Beatles and criminally under-rated by people who take them as just a novelty act - Brian Wilson is a fucking genius, no one's been able to write better pop music than him in decades.

Amen. Actually, what many people fail to realize is that the Beach Boys still put out great music after Brian pulled back up until 1976. I mean, he's barely even on Holland, and that to me is in their top 5 of best things they ever did. And as great as Brian was, his brother Dennis was just behind him.

  15. Bought mine from Gamestop in December. My wife is in the process of taking some of the people she created in the Sims 2 and making wrestlers out of them.

    edit

    Obviously talking about FPW Returns.

BTW...ever notice how if you use the default version of Kevin Nash (can't remember right now what his default name in the game is), the Jackknife powerbomb is a critical most of the time?

  16. I have a very eclectic music collection. Also, a rather large one. So, I'll just post a sample.

These are artists I own the entire collection for (all released material, and some boots). Note: I also have the solo albums for each of these bands that have members that released solo albums.

    Stone Temple Pilots

    Beach Boys

    Foo Fighters

    Nirvana

    2Pac

    Rolling Stones

    Marilyn Manson

    Vanessa Carlton

    Smoosh

    Pink Floyd

    Roxy Music

    Robert Palmer

The following I have some albums for:

    Red Hot Chili Peppers

    Brian Eno

    Daniel Johnston

    Prince

    System of a Down

    M.Ward

    Alice in Chains

    Garbage

No Doubt (but not that Gwen Stefani solo garbage)

I didn't post anybody that only has one or two albums released; that'll take too damn long.

  17. Fuck that ex-nigger. I hope he rots in hell.

I understand that this whole trial has caused some pretty strong feelings in people but this comment was COMPLETELY unneccessary. Hey, if you believe Michael is guilty, fine, but kill the racist bullshit, please.

Better yet, go join Fox News & bitch & moan with them. They're plenty pissed off. Them along with all the other people who tried to make a buck off him & drag his name through the fuckin' mud.

YOU rot in hell. Ya racist, redneck motherfucker.

Oh and for the record...I believe OJ was innocent too.

  18. One of the FOX News correspondents called him the "teflon molester". Let's have three cheers for unbiased journalism! Cynical bitch.

To be fair when multiple kids can describe a grown man's penis, and identify marks on it, it's PROBABLY because they were exposed to it for quite some time. And generally speaking, if your cock is out long enough for someone to have a visual picture in their mind, you at the very least planned to use it :pervert:

  19. Firstly,

    Carl Barks's Duck Family Tree

How the ducks are related is an old much-debated topic in duckdom, and it has been discussed at some length in the Disney comics list as well. This file does not contain The Answers to those questions, but just information on one interesting source of such information, namely a duck family tree that Carl Barks made in the early fifties for his own reference. I won't try to redraw it here, but the information in it is:

Old Scotty McDuck had the following children:

Matilda McDuck who married Goosetave Gander,

    Scrooge McDuck,

    Hortense McDuck.

Grandma Duck had the following children:

    Quackmore Duck,

Daphne, who married Luke the Goose.

Hortense McDuck and Quackmore Duck married and had Thelma Duck (the mother of Huey, Dewey and Louie) and Donald Duck.

Luke the Goose and Daphne had one son, Gladstone, who was orphaned when Daphne and Luke overate at a free-lunch picnic. Gladstone was then adopted by Matilda McDuck and Goosetave Gander!

Gus Goose was a nephew of Luke the Goose making him a very distant cousin of Donald.

This tree was only a rough sketch, and is published in Carl Barks Library, Set VI, p. 476. On the same page is also Mark Worden's cleaned-up version originally published in CAPA-alpha [issue number?]. A peculiar change is that in Mark Worden's version Goosetave Gander is renamed! In Worden's original version in CAPA-alpha it was Goosetale instead, but in the reproduction in CBL it's Goosetail! [What's the story behind those changes?] [Are there any other differences between the printings of Worden's tree?]

Later this tree was the main source for Don Rosa's Duck Family Tree.

(though Disney don't openly admit it, but he does have kids...)

Where does Darkwing Duck fit in? And how did he get Launchpad (the pilot from Duck Tales, at least I think that was his name). This thread is both nostaligic and confusing!
