  1. Maybe if The Astros can get to the series, Drayton might open up his wallet. Take Kent's contract out of the equation, and maybe even Biggio's (if he retires), and it could happen. Honestly, if I was Gerry Hunsicker, I'd trade Bagwell to an AL team, which would do 2 things; 1) free up enough for Beltran, and 2) Add a few more years to Baggy's career, since his shoulder is shot to the point where he's a defensive liability. Just plug in Mike Lamb at first. Or if Biggio retires, Jason Lane.

Nah....whom I kidding? Beltran's as good as gone...

  3. Saw this on insidepulse.com

    The full statement reads:

"There is something I have to say. And I have to say it because I love making games. When a game is in development, myself and the development teams I work with constantly encourage each other to think of the best features and the most ground-breaking design possible.

However, what happens is that we strive to include absolutely everything we've ever dreamt of and, in my enthusiasm, I talk about it to anyone who'll listen, mainly in press interviews. When I tell people about what we're planning, I'm telling the truth, and people, of course, expect to see all the features I've mentioned. And when some of the most ambitious ideas get altered, redesigned or even dropped, people rightly want to know what happened to them.

If I have mentioned any feature in the past which, for whatever reason, didn't make it as I described into Fable, I apologise. Every feature I have ever talked about WAS in development, but not all made it. Often the reason is that the feature did not make sense. For example, three years ago I talked about trees growing as time past. The team did code this but it took so much processor time (15%) that the feature was not worth leaving in. That 15 % was much better spent on effects and combat. So nothing I said was groundless hype, but people expecting specific features which couldn't be included were of course disappointed. If that's you, I apologise. All I can say is that Fable is the best game we could possibly make, and that people really seem to love it.

I have come to realise that I should not talk about features too early so I am considering not talking about games as early as I do. This will mean that the Lionhead games will not be known about as early as they are, but I think this is the more industry standard.

Our job as the Lionhead family of studios is to be as ambitious as we possibly can. But although we jump up and down in glee about the fabulous concepts and features we're working on, I will not mention them to the outside world until we've implemented and tested them, and they are a reality.

    Thank you for reading.

  4. Everything was entirely re-recorded,although vintage equipment was used in a few cases.

I just so happen to love it. Of course, I'm a Wilson fan-boy who thinks the Beach Boys 1966-1972 beat anything the Beatles ever did, so take that with a grain of salt.

  5. True; freaked me out that there was a girl on the US team that was actually only a month younger than I am (she turns 26 next month). Then I read how she is like 4'10 and weighs 95 lbs, and heard the commentators last night talking about how she went on a diet of nothing but Power Bars for her training.

  6. Meh...only interested in the women's gymnastics. And no, you sickos..I'm well aware that most of them are kids. I just prefer that to men's gymnastics because there's just something a bit, I dunno, creepy, about men's gymnastics.

  7. Spoilers for Woman's gymnastics...

Romania is first, with USA a close second (due to Courtney McCool royally fucking up). Overall, though, US's Carly Patterson is leading the overall score. Funny thing about that is the announcers were discussing how she kept falling down off the beam during trials, (and showed clips...it was almost funny)... only for her to end up scoring a 9.725 today on the beam. I dunno, I just thought it was funny. And yes, I am actually watching it as we speak.

    End Spoiler

  8. Keeping in mind I *liked* 2 and 3 more than the first one...

this has to be the worst movie news I've read in a long ass time. It's not an "American Pie" without any of the originals. That's like "Nightmare on Elm Street" without Freddy Kreuger, or a Batman movie without, you know, BATMAN.

  9. Usher - Burn - I hate Usher, a lot. I generally have an open mind towards all kinds of music genres, but I cannot stand male "R&B." It's been the same fucking song since Boys 2 Men were around.

Yep. It's that poppy nonsense that's permeated R&B, rap, and what passes for rock these days. I swear, every time I'm forced to listen to the radio, I feel like an old man blasting what "kids"listen to these days.

  10. I actually thought last season was the best it had been in years, at least since McDonald, Farley, etc. were on/alive.

Now, Will Farrell...sorry, but I always thought he was overrated. I just never found him funny, and he's gotten worse since leaving.

How will Fallon do? Dunno, but considering how poorly SNL alumni usually do after leaving (with the obvious exception of the originals)...
