  1. Red Dead Redemption is more or less a spiritual sequel to Red Dead Revolver. They share a similar setting, but I'm almost certain the stories aren't linked, except maybe for an Easter egg here and there that I'm unaware of. As for the zombies, that would be the add-on pack, Undead Nightmare, for Red Dead Redemption. That's a separate adventure with the same characters as Red Dead Redemption, but with a slightly different style of play.

  2. In the past few months, I've had customers ranting on about consumer rights over such matters as being unable to purchase Mario Kart 7 on the Xbox 360, being refused a full refund for a used, fully working game they bought two months ago on the grounds that they "thought it was crap", or because their attempts to convince me to sell them a new Xbox 360 bundle for £100 were unsuccessful. The public truly is wonderful.

  3. All my pre-orders from Shopto have arrived a day early, so I'll vouch for them right now.

Aaaand ordered. I am personally holding you responsible if it doesn't turn up a day early, Bobfoc. I suggest you make your peace with god and your family on the 8th, just in case.

Looks promising though, they even have a thing on the website saying they'll try their best to get the game to you on release day.

I hope it works out for you, not only because I value my safety, but also because I've pre-ordered from Shopto as well. It would be just my luck that the one time my faith is misplaced happens to be the time I'm being held personally responsible.

  4. I think I'd give that a go to be honest, with episode one in there too as a completist nerd, and its been a while since I've watched any of them so might have to do it soon. Not looking forward to this redone ending of Jedi with Hayden ruddy Christiansen though, many other glaring irritating amendments?

If we're talking about the Blu-Ray versions, Vader's infamous cry of "Noooooooooooo!" from the end of Revenge of the Sith has been haphazardly tacked on to the redemption scene in Return of the Jedi.

  5. Actually, Download is now set to be the only Black Sabbath show of the 2012 tour, with every other set having been downgraded to "Ozzy and Friends". That's not to say that the same fate won't meet Sabbath's Download set if Tony Iommi can't make it, but that's how it stands right now.

  6. This season has been getting worse by the day for Forest. Even though I'm a Notts County supporter, I'm very fond of Forest and find this news absolutely sickening. The club hasn't been doing well financially during the last few years, but Nigel Doughty's financial input has kept them afloat. Unless something dramatic happens now, the club's future is looking very, very bleak.

  7. I don't think it will have too much of an effect. While LA Noire's motion capture technology is impressive, the non-verbal "cues" that push you in the right direction during cases are far from subtle. Because the motion capture animations were pulled off by using real actors, their expressions e.g. shifty eyes, not making eye contact are exaggerated to the extent that they would be easy to pick up on without the benefit of the best possible graphical settings.

  8. I might end up going for a day (probably Sunday by the looks of things at the moment), but I doubt I'll be able to do the whole weekend. The whole lineup looks very promising at the moment, though, so I can only hope that it continues in this vein.

  9. That lineup will be hard for any other UK festival to beat this year as far as I'm concerned. They'd better make sure that Metallica and Tenacious D's sets don't overlap too much, though, or there will be a lot of unhappy campers.

  10. I was really taken aback when I saw the headline on the BBC website. I'm not Welsh and have never been a Newcastle supporter, but I always enjoyed watching him play. The Welsh national side has come on leaps and bounds over the last few months under his management and, as someone already mentioned in this thread, he seemed to be in reasonably good spirits on Football Focus recently, so this news is all the more painful to hear. Terrible, terrible news, not only for his friends and family, but for football in general.

  11. Dolph Ziggler finally loses the US Title to Zack Ryder in the opening match at the Rumble...but then goes on to win the Rumble match itself. Moving on to bigger and better things. :D

Funnily enough, I was just thinking earlier today about how I'd like to see that exact scenario unfold in real life.

  12. From what I've read from those who got the game early, RTWM seems to be the weakest aspect of the game. Apparently, a lot of the challenges can be either uninspired and tedious or frustrating and unintuitive. Personally, I'll wait until I play the game before I pass judgement, but it probably bothers me less than many other people because I wasn't particularly interested in the RTWM mode to begin with.

  13. I really hope that they implement Red Dead Redemption's checkpoint system into this new game. I've had great fun with GTA over the years, but its most frustrating aspect has always been the whole "drive across city to receive mission briefing; watch cutscene in which said debriefing is given; repeat entire process once you fail the mission" rigmarole. It always broke the flow of the game for me and was the main reason that I found it difficult to engage with the storylines.

Wasn't that fixed in IV? If you fail a mission you can redo it by pressing some button on your cellphone.

That's true, but I'm fairly sure that you still lost all your weapons/armour if you used that method. They made it slightly more lenient in the DLC episodes, but I think RDR's model works best.
