  1. It helps if there listed for loan and as your league two, aim for lower championship teams or anybody in League One. It's hard to get experienced Premier League keepers. I mean you may get lucky with certain young keepers in the Premier, U18's more then likely.

Players transfer listed aswell often get Loan bids accepted.

Don't bid for players who just simply aren't playing because you often get told, due to first team commitments blah blah blah..

  2. Man, van der Vaart has been a pretty big flop for me. Has a good game every now and then but mainly just likes to boot it from 25 out in the odd hope he might find the net. He's also the only person that refuses to tutor younger players. Greedy, selfish twat <_<

In other news, Felix Magath (it's 2013) is unlikely to be rehired by Man Utd and I seem to be the favourite for the job, but I kinda want to stay at Tottenham just to win that first title, and bcause I've brought in some real good young players who are just starting to step up (Saivet and Fleck, for example). Decisions, decisions!

edit: So now it seems that the Tottenham board may not offer me a new contract, so I could be forced out to Man Utd :(

you could leave spurs for man utd, god forbid :shifty:

There's a screen cap of the league so far, it's close as you can see. Plymouth obviously aren't highlighted cause Ace isn't on but we've both been up and down already.

The Home/Away thing your not kidding lol. I've got the joint best home record in the league, won 4 from 5 drawing 1 but drawn 3 and lost 2 away.

It is a good game though, damn his Calvin Zola though lol, bargain gamble so far for Ace.

It started with him looking for strikers found his and then i questioned my strike force, or lone striker, as i'm playing 4-5-1/4-3-3 (depends how you look at it). Steve Howard's got 4 goals for me this season but Ambrose and Hume have about 5 between them in the league and i still have Daryl Murphy to return from injury whos scored 1 from 2 league games. So i think i'm happy with what i've got. I've decided to push Ashley Chambers from the U18's in to the first team squad to get him experience and he scored on his first start which was good.

It certainly is interesting being about 14th one week and in the play-offs the next lol.

    Edit: Through boredom and not being tired, here's the results for us;

    Scuntrorpe 1 - 1 Leicester - Steve Howard

    Plymouth 2 - 1 Q.P.R - Steven Maclean and Rory Fallen

    Charlton 1 - 1 Leicester - Daryl Murphy

    Plymouth 1 - 1 Sheff Utd - James Dunne

Leicester 3 - 0 Hull - Steve Howard, Matt Oakley and Darren Ambrose

    Crystal Palace 3 - 1 Plymouth - Jermaine Easter

Leicester 3 - 0 Sheff Wed - Joey Gudjohnsson, DJ Campbell and Richard Wood (og)

    Cardiff 4 - 2 Plymouth - Calvin Zola (2)

    Norwich City 3 - 0 Leicester

Plymouth 2 - 0 Southampton - Steven Maclean and Calvin Zola

    Leicester 1 - 0 Wolves - Darren Amrbose

Colchester 0 - 3 Plymouth - Steven Maclean, Calvin Zola and Gyorgy Sandor

    Preston 4 - 1 Leicester - Ashley Chambers

    Ipswich 1 - 0 Plymouth

Leicester 2 - 0 Sheff Utd - Iain Hume and James Wesolowski

Plymouth 1 -1 West Brom - Bostjan Cesar (og)

Leicester 2 - 2 Stoke City - Darren Ambrose and Steve Howard

    Plymouth 2 - 1 Barnsley - Calvin Zola (2)

    League Cup - Dag & Red 2 - 1 Plymouth - Chris Clark, Leicester 1 - 0 Huddersfield - Iain Hume, Reading 1 - 0 Leicester

  4. EWB Football Manager Showdown

Theres three people signed up so far, myself, Dan and Cool One, i was thinking 5 maybe 6 people depending on how many people wanted in on it.

Leagues: Premier League - League Two // Teams predicted under 11th only to be taken over. (Birmingham, Derby, Fulham, Man City, Middlesborogh, Newcastle, Reading, Sunderland, West Ham or Wigan)

So does anybody want to sign up for this, i may have to reserve a spot for Ace as i'm not sure if he wants in or not, so.....

    anyone else interested?

    Edit:

The Cool One - Newcastle (predicted 11th)

Dont Fear The Reaper - Reading (predicted 13th)

    new_era - Manchester City (predicted 14th)

Dan - West Ham United (predicted 15th)

    LCS - ???

  5. I can't stop playing that song and i normally hate Wiley, he's a knob in real life i've met him a few times and that's my reasoning for hating him lol but this song, quality.

Video is pretty good aswell, slightly confusing but watchable.

  6. The Office (US) if you can catch it. Great show.

Yeah man, i watch TV on a website now lol, haven't watched TV on an actual TV for about a year now lol. If you want the website then feel free to PM me and i'll drop you the link.

  7. Does anyone think it would be possible to start a Network game with about 5-6 of us, maybe more, i mean i know it's doable but would anyone be interested in like an EWB Football Manager showdown?

I've got no idea what league people think would work best etc but would anyone be interested in that?

  8. Seen all of Skins, it's pretty good, first series was a lot better i thought.

Dexter is awesome, finished watching series 2 about a month ago lol, series 2 in that however is better then series 1.

    So i've seen both lol.

Edit: Thanks Flitzy, when it comes to TV i'll watch anything if it's good. I've only really heard of Torchwood can't remember if it appealed to me or not lol. Brotherhood is brilliant, only seen the first series of that. Not even heard of The Shield or Rescue Me so i'll look in to them, thanks man.

  9. I've just finished with watching Oz, from beginning to end and damn, that programme was awesome, i didn't realize that it was the first series HBO made, i sat watching the intro to the show thinking, hmmm reminds me of The Wire lol. I've also seen all the Prison Break, Lost and Heroes episodes.

    Anyway,

I was considering watching The Sopranos next as I've not seen most of the episodes but has anybody got any recommendations for anything else?

  10. I thought this week was another pretty decent episode, but have to agree the lack of Cartman and Butters wasn't good.

Randy's an under rated character in my opinion, he's not bad for an episode time to time, the ghost ectoplasm line was quality, i can't remember many funnier scenes in the whole 12 series of South Park.

Californee/Californeeway was funny as well. There was something about the guitar scene with Randy singing aswell, had me in stitches.

  11. It still is wide open, just could have been a lot closer.

I can just see Chelsea taking a sneaky 1-0 or 2-1 at Stamford Bridge against United and if Man U advance in the champions league then games against West Ham (who seem to be a bogey team for United) and Wigan away won't be easy.

But yes, then there is the Chelsea advancing in the champions league scenario.

But, it's far from over. Chelsea still have a hell of a chance of taking it.

  12. It is looking pretty good, i didn't have no bids in at all lol you joined and that was the first time i looked at my team, first time i've used 8.0.2 so didn't know what players were available. We're both undefeated in friendlies and we called it a night day of the first league game.

Leicester aren't that bad, pretty uninspiring bunch of teams to choice from as we limited ourselves.

Stephen Wright, Darren Ambrose, James Henry and Daryl Murphy all in on Loan until the end of the season. Scunthorpe away first game, i'm looking forward to it (H)

  13. Yeah, QPR are pretty good. In my Reading game they were promoted first season but now there bottom in the Premier League. If you need to know some good players to sign for Championship level then feel free to drop me a msg mate.

Edit: Anyone fancy a network game?

  14. Big day in the Championship today, 3rd v 4th, 5th v 6th and 7th v 8th. All big games, the league is so close.

    Predictions for today -

    Barnsley v Leicester, 2-2

    Blackpool v Sheff Wed, 1-2

    Colchester v Coventry, 1-1

    Norwich v West Brom, 0-3

    Plymouth v Preston, 1-1

    QPR v Charlton, 2-2

    Scunthorpe v Cardiff, 0-1

    Sheff Utd v Hull, 2-0

    Southampton v Burnley, 0-0

    Stoke v Bristol City, 2-1

    Watford v Crystal Palace, 3-1

    Wolverhampton v Ipswich, 1-2

  15. Seriously lol, if your in the mood for a Championship team be Ipswich, i know there not your fave lol but they have 12 mill to spend and a good young team i always get them promoted within two seasons everytime.

Cardiff aren't bad either i'm not sure how much money they have to spend though.

  16. I was in the mood for a bit of a challenge and decided to take over Reading because they have a pretty blank history. But in actual fact lol, it's turned out to be 1 of my best games on FM, well so far anyway lol. League cup semi-finalists, losing to Liverpool. Quarter Finals of the F.A Cup losing to Man Utd. I was 2nd-3rd in the league for ages but took only 7 points from my last 7 games which included the 'big' four, Newcastle and Spurs so i was disappointed with 5th in ways but not really lol.

Brought in Ricardo Rocha (2mill), Fabio Rochemback (5.1mill), Jose Goncalves from Hearts (2 mill plus a Sam Sodje), Darren Ambrose (2.8mill) and Flamini on a Season Long Loan. I can't remember exactly how much i had to spend but i sold Nicky Shorey to Portsmouth for 11 mill so that 1 sale gave me a lot of depth to the squad. Also sold Glen Little for 1.5 mill to Villa and a few other youngsters for small fees.

I only lost to Man Utd and West Ham at home all season in the league so home form was everything.

    Season finished like this -

    reading.jpg

Second season, even better lol. I was given 17 mill to spend after deciding to aim for a second season in Europe through my league position. I only really looked to strengthen my squad, Sonko is the only player i've had to sell, he was probz my best CB but got myself some covered, sold him to Portsmouth (they seem to like my players) for 7 mill but signed Ron Vlaar from Feyenoord for 6 mill and he's now made his way into the Holland squad in less then a season. I also signed, Matthew Taylor (4.8mill), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (2.3mill), Chris Kirkland (3mill), Abdoulaye Meite (1.8mill) and Luis Jimenez (5mill) with Lassana Diara on a Loan til the end of the season. Signed a Finnish youngster on a free and Van Der Berg from Arsenal on a free, he's played in all league cup games scoring 4 times from the bench and he's scored twice in the Uefa Cup.

I've got 11 games to go in the season and i'm currently 2nd on goal difference on 52 points with Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City all level on points. Man U are top and are basically home and dry, i'm 16 points behind them, they've lost only once.

Just lost my 5th round replay to Arsenal in the F.A Cup, i came back from 2-0 down but lost 1-0 at the Emirates, Chelsea knocked me out in the Quarter Finals of the League Cup. So in two seasons the 'big' four have ruined my cup dreams, bastards lol.

The Uefa Cup is good though, bit to good at the minute. The Group Stage saw me get Zaragoza, Feyenoord, Malmo and Levski, i finished 2nd behind Zaragoza. Beat Sevilla on away goals in the first knock-out stage, 1-1 at The Madjeski and 2-2 in Spain, i scored in the 94th minute, Kevin Doyle is a damn god send on this game lol and now i'm 2-0 up after the 1st leg against Bestikas and the next leg is at home so i maybe counting my chickens but i think i'm going to advance, gotta go play this now i'll post my progress in a bit :)

Edit: Drew 1-1 with Bestikas, so advance to the Quarters wooo lol, even rested 7 usual starting players so can't complain. There's 4 English teams left in the competition and i'm on the opposite side of the draw so could be an all English final, Man U have Portsmouth now and could meet Newcastle if they beat Zaragoza. I've gotta beat Olympiakos and then beat either Udinese or Marseille so, it's tough.

    Here's my team at the minute;

GK: Chris Kirkland // Marcus Hahnenmann

DL: Benoit Assou-Ekotto // Jose Goncalves

DR: Liam Rosenior // Graham Murty

DC: Ron Vlaar // Andre Bikey

DC: Abdoulaye Meite // Ricardo Rocha

ML: Matthew Taylor // Stephen Hunt

MR: Darren Ambrose // Emerese Fae

MC: James Harper // Luis Jimenez

MC: Fabio Rochemback // Lassana Diarra

FC: Kevin Doyle // Dave Kitson

FC: Leroy Lita // Shane Long

  17. Man United

    v. Arsenal

    v. Blackburn (a)

    v. Chelsea (a)

    v. West Ham

    Wigan (a)

    Chelsea

    v. Wigan

    v. Everton (a)

    v. Man Utd

    v. Newcastle (a)

    v. Bolton

On paper, i know what fixtures i'd rather have left.

Arsenal, despite it being at home it won't be easy, never is when Arsenal come to Old Trafford especially with Arsenal out of the title picture, they'll do anything to mess you up, can see you drawing that game. Blackburn away, again another possible banana skin for you, West Ham another bogey team for United like Boro are so you never know against them and then the big one, the one that will decide it ultimately, at Stamford Bridge which i can just see Chelsea winning.

Wigan and Bolton at home, on paper straight forward but yes this is football, Bolton will be relegated by then, Wigan are basically safe now. Everton and Newcastle away both tough but both teams playing for nothing, Keengan's little run will have ended by then and it will be time for a reality check.

The title race is still very much on and i've said from the beginning, Chelsea will win the league. (H)
