  1. I know this is quite weird to post, considering none of us really like basketball, myself included, but the Raptors recent success has got me to tangentially care about basketball and NBA 2K's stellar career modes have always had me kinda intrigued by those games. And playing them on PC/a bit on PS4/Xbone made me have a greater appreciation for the actual mechanics of basketball, even if I still find it incredibly boring to watch.

So this is Shaq and Ernie somethingsomething in NBA 2K15. This kind of interactivity and just the natural tone to everything makes me really, really, really hopeful that we can eventually see an emphasis on commentary/presentation in games that allows for stuff like say, FIFA, NHL, Madden, or MLB to feel a bit more natural. MLB does a great job, but they can still do a bit better, and FIFA is almost there. NHL made good steps with getting the NBC license. They just need to go a few steps further and really immerse the player. Also, this kind of emphasis on natural interactions between commentators in NBA 2K15 has me really, really, really hopeful that something like this can happen in the WWE games now that 2K is publishing them. Maybe it won't be in 2K15, but I'm hopeful for 2K16.

  2. Just one of those nights, unfortunately. It was pretty brutal. I don't know why there's such a disparity between keepers online and offline (or, more specifically, in Pro Clubs).

I also think we ought to maybe switch up the formation. We get pretty bunched up in the middle still, and we get REALLY sprint happy/clusterfuck-y around the box. There were a few times when people would run right onto the ball when another one of our players had it. Having mics would really help, but that seems to not be happening for the most part.

I'd say something like a 4-4-2 with the two mids being holding DMs. Get Arjen some help up on striker there, let the mids play out wide, and just kinda calm everything down for a minute and not try outlet passes so often. I know I'm sometimes completely guilty of this, but just a general observation over a little bit of time.

  3. Played through P.T. last night.

    Holy balls. That was horrible.

Like, scary and spooky ooooooooooh? Or bad?

It started so strong for me but kinda turned into a tedious pixel hunt at some point and pissed me off. I really hope that isn't indicative of the final game overall.

  4. To sate my racing and management game cravings, I found an old game called ''Grand Prix Manager''. And to my surprise the modding community is alive for that 15 year old game too, and it had a 2014 mod.

In essence it's just another management game, but with an F1 team. You hire designers, engineers, and mechanics, and you assign them tasks like designing a better turbo system or different aero parts.

Then you woo sponsors in adding their labels to your cars, helmets, and suits to get extra money. And you test the car to try and maximise it's abilities...

Oh and you get to sign drivers, which includes test drivers. And there are even pay-drivers if you need extra money, which is useful when you're trying to go into the deep end from the get go...

Anyways, it's a pretty basic and old game. And it's extremely hard to get into. I tried to be foolish and start out with Caterham, and as expected I got my ass handed to me in every race because the car is a piece of shit.

I doubt anyone here has played the game, or even heard of it. But who knows, maybe someone has and can give me some pointers, because real guides are hard to find.

    That is all...

I played Grand Prix Manager a few years ago. I remember it being incredibly hard (especially because I didn't understand all the minutia of F1) but it was rad. It's super cool to see that the game is still being modded now.

  5. By no means is that lack of customization the end of the world, but that makes me quite sad. I was hoping to be a virtual golfsman with some dumb golf pants and big dumb mutton chops. The gameplay seems incredibly rewarding and rad, but I need a bit more of a hook/selling point. :(
