Old School: 6/10
Not as funny as I thought it would be :ohwell:

Does anybody think there could ever be a multi comic movie, like Spiderman, Daredevil, TFF , and the X Men vs Onslaught?
Nah, basically because it's not just ONE studio that has the rights for the heroes (for instance, DD and Spidey could never appear on the same movie, as would any character that appeared in the DD movie like Kingpin), and plus, I think it's better to stay simple with this type of movies. Nothing too fancy, nothing too much, just one hero/regular team of heroes (like X-Men/FF) against a villain/team of villains and that's it. No need to complicate it by making heroes from all around the world needing to join together to stop an intergalactic threat and stuff like that... Dunno if I'm making my point clear...

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAAAAA! This video is simply beautiful!

In the cartoon, Spiderman was the first to wear the Venom symbiote, but he rejected it, which is why it joined with Eddie Brock, they both hated Spiderman, for different reasons. In the comics, someone made him a replacement costume, that looked exactly like Venom. I can't remember her name, but I think she was like the 'Silver Cat', or something like that.
Actually, I don't think it goes like that :ohwell:
OK, long story here. Here it goes (comics-wise):
Spidey and several heroes and villains were assembled by a god-like being called Beyonder to a planet that consisted of pieces of several planets. In the battles that ensued, Spidey got his costume torn and ravaged. In the HQs supplied by Beyonder the heroes found a machine that could create new costumes for the heroes, but Spidey used the wrong one and out came the symbiote. Spidey thought it was just a costume that could do tricks and never thought much about it, except he was really getting more tired each day even thought he slept more and more. A quick visit to the Fantastic Four (back on Earth, of course) determined that the costume was a parasyte that sucked Spidey's adrenaline. They also found out it was "allergic" to sound and fire. Spidey left with the symbiote locked in the Baxter Building, and continued to use the black costume for a while (this time just a regular costume). The symbiote escaped though, and attached itself to Brock, creating Venom. Ever since then, Spidey only uses the black costume as a reserve costume, whenever he has no option (whether it be due to unforseen circumstances or because all his outfits are torn apart).
And I guess Kaneanite is talking about the Black Cat who was Spidey's girlfriend at the time this symbiote thing first started, she may have made a black costume for him as a replacement of the symbiote, but that I dunno for sure. I think that about covers it. Any questions?
God, I'm such a freak...

Wasn't Carnage created when Eddie Brock sprung from jail, with the symbiote? I'm sure I saw something, be it cartoon or comic, where Venom (as Brock) escaped from prison, ripped himself on a broken bar, which Cletus Kasady touched, thus forming Carnage.
In the comics, Brock and Kasady were inmates in Ryker Island. The symbiote freed (sp?) Brock, in the meanwhile leaving its spawn (that little piece of symbiote that Kasady touched) dripping in the bar. But Carnage's symbiote is not a piece of Venom's symbiote, it's like its son, its spawn.
-
The Carnage symbiote wasn't split from the symbiote per se, it was a spawn of the symbiote. IIRC, the explanation they gave for his enormous powers was that it was conceived in an alien world (Earth) and its atmosphere made it more powerful than Venom. Carnage was badass, but nowhere near as cool as Venom. Am I the only one to find dumb the way they got rid of him? Oh well...
And cn650, I did notice that. Loved the detail.

Well, I was proven wrong, and I liked it. If they play like this all the time, they have potential. That said... WAY TO GO, TEAM
-
...What? John Jameson as Venom? I'll wait and see.

I heard there's a big cliff hanger at the end, I heard from another forum, so this is pure speculation, but it is major spoilers:
Jamesons son is an Astornaut in the movie, and he goes to the moon and finds a black rock, brings is back to Earth and it is rumoured to be the Symbiote of Venom.
If that is true, it seems like they'll go the direction of the cartoon, right? Black rock, space shuttle, etc? Or am I confusing with something else?
EDIT:
Well thats how it goes in the comics, so if they were bringing in Venom, thats how they would do it.Actually, in the comics Spidey got the symbiote in an alien planet created by Beyonder when he was recruited for the Secret Wars, but does it really matter?
-
1-0 Portugal. Nuno Gomes scored. I must say, I'm completely surprised, they are playing much better and if they can keep this up they will advance. I'll just wait and see.
-
They already signed to make 6 Spiderman movies. I heard the villian in the third will be Green Goblin (wasn't he in the first?).
About Venom..they'd need to introduce the alien symbiote and they can't do it all in one movie without changing too much of the origin.
If it's the Green Goblin, then it'll be Harry, unless they want to do the clone saga on film to get Norman back
But I think it'll be the Lizard. After all, the Lizard was on this movie originally until they realized two big name villains in one movie would be too much to handle.

I'm a big Spidey fan and I was already excited. This made me more. I can't wait for the movie to come out here. Damn, it's still a month already...

Gladiator: 9/10
I simply adore that movie.

Riots? Easy there, fella. We aren't as violent as that. Nah, if we go out, I'm pretty sure there won't be any problems. Anyway, we deserve to go out. We've been playing like shit and it's like I said before, the players are more focused in looking good for commercials (in one of the last press conferences before the game with Greece the main subject was about Cristiano Ronaldo's new haircut, for fuck's sake!) than in playing well and winning games. Last time we met Spain we got our asses kicked 3-0, and this time it won't be different. I'd love for Portugal to win, but I just can't see them doing it. The squad needs a wake up call of some sorts for a long time now, and Scolari isn't the one to do it. The last decent manager we had was Humberto Coelho in the Euro 2000, I believe, and they kicked him out. Ever since, it's been downhill, and as much as it costs me to say this, if Portugal wasn't the hosting nation, I believe they wouldn't even be in the Euro. They need to get their heads out of their asses and realize they're a disgrace as of right now.

The Ladykillers: 7.5/10
The General rules. That is all.

Freddy vs Jason (yet again): 9/10

The Iliad. Honest. Troy made me curious since I had never read the book. Right now I'm reading Four Past Midnight, The Langoliers by Stephen King.

Review Deadly Friend. I remember watching a bit of it years ago and I thought it was so damn cheesy, and I just want to see if I'm the only one who thinks that

I'm pretty sure it was a Nike ad, but yeah, it's the one where Cantona does the collar thing and simply says "Au revoir" as he puts the ball through the demon keeper. But I'm pretty sure it's a Nike ad.
EDIT: Yup, it's a Nike commercial alright, just found a site that has it

Nothing. A small minority (compared to UK's population, I understand there were quite a few people involved t'other night) are acting like complete fuck heads. That typical English-person abroad, eating nothing but chips, watching football, drinking beer and fighting culture is really fucked up. Twats. Even if we get thrown out, I doubt they'd learn.
Bastards.
By no means take my post as an attack to English people, it's not. It's towards hooligans in general. I just specified the english fans because for the last few nights there have been disturbances over here and the media says it's mostly english fans who get drunk and fuck up. A few bars have been forced to closed because they got completely destroyed by hooligans. But anyway, my post is not an attack on English people in general, and if it seemed so I apologize.
-
Another good day of football though, but tomorrow will be huge. If England lose they are out, so its a huge game and I can see riots near my house if they lose
Near your house and over here. The english fans have been doing enough damage as it is, and if England loses this one, it'll be hell for the cops. I still don't see what's so fun in hooliganism...
-
I personally can't wait for this one. I loved the other two movies (always had a thing for vampire movies), and we'll probably get the perk of seeing HHH die in a horrible fashion
-
Which, in turn, doesn't beat the one where the players play against demons from many, many years ago

Beckinsale gets my vote.
