  1. Yea, also got some Black Keys albums. Their latest three. I'd say Rubber Factory is there best album. Listening to them makes me want to go listen to some original blues. John Lee Hooker, R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Muddy Waters, T-Model Ford. I doubt I would find any blues albums in a place like Best Buy or a typical store like that, except for maybe John Lee Hooker. I've been really into delta blues music for the past month or so.

Also, if anyone can give me reviews for those three albums I stated earlier, that would be appreciated.

  2. I'm listening to Them Crooked Vultures as well. I was about to come on here and say "why is no one praising this holy project?" But I understand. It sounds a lot like QOTSA, a lot like their latest two albums, but even so, there's something sort of different about TCV, that I'm liking. Plus, anything from Josh Homme is pretty good. And, you can't admit that some songs are incredibly good musically. "Elephants," "Gunman," "Scumbag Blues," to name a few.

Also picked up Eagles of Death Metal Peace, Love, Death Metal. Sounds pretty good as my first album from em. Sounds too rough cut, but I guess you come to expect it being there first album. Seems like I should have got Heart On though. Jesse Hughes is a crazy man.

Also got the Dead Weather's new album Horehound last week. fan-dabi-dozi stuff all around. Some songs are hit or miss but as a whole its a fan-dabi-dozi album. There supposedly going back in the studio in December to work on another album. Should be fan-dabi-dozi.

Also, my cousin who lives over in England sent me three albums which I have yet to open. Can some one give me there opinions/reviews on these three albums:

The Cramps - ...Off the Bone

Happy Mondays - Pills 'N' Thrills and Bellyaches

Joe Meek - The Alchemist of Pop: Home Made Hits & Rarities 1959-1966

  3. Since this is about basketball...what are your guys' opinion on the NBA Draft Lottery?

I for one think it is incredibly unneeded. I think that if you're the worst team in the NBA, you deserve the first pick. No questions asked. So many teams have been cheated out because of the Draft Lottery.

I know they originally used it for when the Houston Rockets got accused of cheating in 1984/1985 by purposely losing games to automatically get the number one overall pick. But shouldn't that go for every league? Who knows if the Detroit Lions lost all 16 games on purpose just so they could get Matthew Stafford? If we're talking length of games, why doesn't the MLB use it either, considering the 82 games of the NBA to the 160 or so games in the MLB? I think they should just go back to the normal win-loss order just like every other league. Or at least advocate it for the MLB, NFL, etc.

Think about it. Last year, do you think that the Chicago Bulls REALLY needed Derrick Rose? Considering they were only the 9th worst team in the NBA (33-49) and had guys like Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich, as well as a pretty good roster already (Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, etc.). I think the Bulls would have made the '09 playoffs regardless of Rose or not.

    What do you guys think?

    :lmao:

And if you seriously think that is something that is even remotely possible, I'll be ignoring your opinions from now on.

Ok, yea that was a little too much. I didn't seriously think that. I'm just saying what if a team like that lost out the #1 pick to lets say, the Jets? It would be strange.

Uhh, I'd think it'd be kind of obvious that they needed him. They didn't make the playoffs without him and were in the lottery because of it. Why would you assume that they would make the playoffs in a conference that got stronger in '09 than it was in '08?

And as far as the lottery goes, it's good. It works; why try and fix something that's not broken?

And Maxx, I doubt (re: hope) that he doesn't actually believe that and was just trying to make his point, as bad as the point may be.

Good point. I just think that a lot of other teams would be well deserving of a guy like Rose.

Eh, whatever. My points suck. Ignore.

  5. Just got a reserve on 2k10 the other day, which is probably useless but whatever.

All I really hope for is to have a D-League in Franchise mode. Too many times do I draft rookies in the second round that just go nowhere, good potential rating or not, because they just sit on reserves all season. After the 2-year team option, there usually off my team. Hopefully it could also progress the young free agents as well, because usually they just sit there and do nothing. It's good to hear that they licensed it for "My Player," just hope it finds its way to Franchise mode. I probably won't be a big player of "My Player" unless they revamp the create-a-player mode.

Anyway, I'm getting this game regardless. I've promised myself that the NBA 2k series is now going to be the only sports video games I will get annually from now on.

  6. Not entirely sure what's wrong with your mic, perhaps it just got yanked a little too hard or it's a faulty one. I've never had any problems with conversations going in and out though, at least with the official Xbox wired standard one.

Ah, that could be it. Yanked too hard. Although it doesn't look bent or anything. Whatever, I got the money and it's really starting to get annoying. Thanks for the help.

  7. From my experience, it's better to get the standard wired microphone. The wireless is 60 and you have to charge it to use it. My roommate and I both had wireless microphones and both stopped charging altogether after a few months. The standard wired microphone is only 20, and works pretty well, the only problem I had with it is when I stepped on it and broke part of it so I had to duct tape it.

Thanks for the reply. Yea my friend had a wireless and we always used to pick on him because he would have to shut it off and charge it or it would just make horrible noises. Just seeing if they got any better.

So, for the mic that you've used, has it ever had problems with hearing people? Like does it ever phase in and out of conversations for example? I'm just wondering.

I don't get what's wrong with mine on that account. It's not chipped, it looks rather new. The only thing is that it has some food marks by the microphone part lol.

  8. So, I was thinking about getting a new mic, because my current one just started to get crappy. It fads in and out and gets all static. Now I have to play it through my TV, which forces me to raise the volume of my TV so high (because I can't hear anyone), which in turn forces me to turn down the game's volume in order to balance it out. (Does this happen with anyone or is it just me?)

So my question is, should I get a normal or wireless mic? I heard that with the wireless mic you have to charge it or something? Also, how much are both (if not the same)?

  9. Can't wait for:

    Pearl Jam "Backspacer"

Beastie Boys "Hot Sauce Committe Pt. 1"

Alice In Chains "Black Gives Way to Blue"

    Melvins "Chicken Switch"

    Them Crooked Vultures material

    Need to get:

Medeski Martin and Wood - Radiolarian Vol. 3

Les Claypool - Of Fungi and Foe

    NOFX - Coaster

    Meat Puppets - Sewn Together

What I'm MOST looking forward to is for Soundgarden to eventually release a B-Side's album sometime in the future. It was rumored after the band's split in 1997 but I saw a Chris Cornell interview from last month about a Soundgarden reunion and he said he has only talked to the former members about releasing this album so I guess plans are back on.

Also Tristy said something about a "best of" Desert Sessions and a new session in the works, which would be awesome!
