Ohio State continues to roll, with a dominating 38-17 win at Iowa...They now have road wins at Texas and at Iowa, and a solid win over Penn State...Troy Smith is the clear frontrunner for the Heisman after a 4 TD performance tonight.

Madden Curse strikes again...shaun alexander out 4-6 weeks with a broken bone in his ankle

Wow, Notre Dame really sucks....can't really say i'm surprised though. They were overhyped coming into the season. Ohio State showed in the Fiesta Bowl that ND's defense is flawed, and they did nothing to improve it. So of course it still sucks...but the main thing im shocked about is Brady Quinn playing so poorly. He has gone from frontrunner for the Heisman and lock No.1 pick to not even in the discussion and NFL stock falling with each throw.
I don't think that 5 tds and 1 int is all that bad.

On another note, OSU picks off two passes for int's to clinch the 28-6 win over psu, and honestly, this years defense might be better than last years...already 10 takeaways in 4 games, only 12 all of last year.

JoePa doesnt do anything during the games anyway, he's only a cheerleader at this point.
Yeah... okay...

Billy Volek is going to SD for a 6th rounder this week, reportedly

Because we all know how much Tommy Maddox plays defense right? It's not Maddox's fault they lost, it's the team's, so don't even try and pull that uber-Steelers blame it on Maddox bullshit, because if the defense came to play, they wouldn't of scored 24 points.
And Jacksonville, to an extent, is playing for that. How many people even knew the Jaguars had the third best recrod in the AFC last year? That and everybody finds something to talk bad about Leftwich, who's a very good Quarterback, a very underrated one as well.

Steve Smith is probably out this week after not practicing all week.

There was a survey or poll or something held recently, and the Browns fans ended up being named the most loyal fans in the NFL

It's what us Cleveland and especially Browns fans have grown used to, have it look like good things are happening, then a ton of bad things happen and ruin the season of our team...thank god for Lebron.

Deion Branch to the Seahawks for a 1st rounder

To say the Saints have no glaring holes is absolutely ridiculous, they have the worst set of LB's in the NFL and their secondary is average at best. Say what you want about Stallworth, but without him they are inexperienced at WR other than Horn. Their offensive line is only average also.
-
Still, as much as I don't like to see that happen to anyone... WHO DEY?!
Gonna arrest next?
That was hilarious... two months ago. What other witty pun do you have? Calling them the Cincinnati Crim'nals? Bottom line, despite the doubts about Carson and all the legal issues, the Bengals kicked ass in the preseason and they kicked ass today. Looking pretty good.
Trust me, he will never have anything witty to say ever... and will only use the over used sayings that someone else has come up with.

The Buckeyes owned bad tonight, the defense proved all doubters wrong and Troy Smith is arguably the best player in college football right now...Buckeyes for National Champions.

Wasn't Was vs Min tonight also? I can't find it on tv

I agree that the Pac-10 is always overrated. Sure they have some good teams, but one or two tough games a year is a bit lame. Other schools beat on themselves and knock them out of Nat'l Title contention. I'm not going to say that Cal, USC, UCLA, etc don't have great teams that are NC Caliber (USC for the past 3-4 years), but that only garnered one Nat'l Title even in that... where imo Auburn was left out to vie for it. And no, a playoff system would not be good for College Football. Not only will there be an economic impact, but more controversey in seeding and a #9 team, but there has never been a need for it.. a +1 system could work on a year-by-year basis.... In my opinion, its the Pre-Season poll that screws up EVERYTHING. If they would wait until week 4 to release a poll after seeing the teams it would benefit everyone. You weed out the weak, and get to see those teams that sit outside the top 10 normally shine and show what they have (Auburn in previous year as an example).
Especially in this season it would help. With everyone having problems and such, after week four you'd be able to tell who were gonig to fix their holes and vie for a title, while others could go for conference titles and BCS bids. For my economic impact statement. Bowls generate over 1billion dollars in revenue for communites and schools each year, with a playoff system you negate the majority of bowls and single a lot of this money out that they do need. So now not only do you still deal with the same crap of playoffs, but you get to screw communites out of revune they need.
I say do it NCAA basketball tourney style and have 64 teams in a badass college tourney with the bowl games being the first round stuff, etc.

I'm sure they didn't have to replace their whole LB trio and almost all of the DBs..
-
Tell me when OSU has not had a good defense under Jim Tressel....they replaced a ton of defensive starters after the title game and their defense was just as good as ever.
