  1. From what I've read, it will be "…from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored."

A lot of people are clamouring for it to be set in the Old Republic, and I for one would be so keen for that, but I'm honestly just thrilled about the idea of more Star Wars films to explore more of the galaxy than just the Skywalker family fucking everything up.

  2. There's also the fact that the 3DS was already struggling sometimes with X and Y, let alone Sun and Moon. I know Horde battles and weather effects in X and Y would cause noticeable framerate drops, and Sun and Moon it happened with some Z-moves as well. If they want to continue to build on the Pokemon games they have to move to the Switch.

For me - XY is the peak of gameplay, BW is the peak of story, RBY is the peak of characters, RSE is the peak of post-game, DPPt was probably the most balanced game, and Alola was the most innovative. I'm just salty because I don't like change in my favourite games really. The same happened with FF, and I like my JRPG's to stick to a formula that works. Sun/Moon feels more like a game in the Colosseum series than the main series to me.

As an example, Tekken is 9+ games deep, still has some of the most simplistic gameplay (and complex, at higher levels), and I still love that almost as much as day one.

I'm surprised and a little disappointed that US/UM aren't going to be on Switch, as that would be the selling point for me on the console.

    No love for GSC? >_>

Also, why did the terrigen crystal not affect her, I thought exposure to non-inhumans caused them to petrify into deadness?

    Spoiler

The stuff that causes petrification comes from the Diviner metal, not from terrigen, and Radcliffe managed to distill terrigen crystals that would be harmless to humans earlier in the season. The crystal May used is visibly clear of any Diviner metal, so it only affected Daisy.

In spite of some early "WOOOO WE'RE R-RATED, DID YOU NOTICE HOW R-RATED WE ARE" moments very early, it was real good. 2017 has started out real fucking hot with Get Out, John Wick 2, and Logan, the early-year genre film portion of the year is really delivering the goods.

I didn't notice anything that particularly stood out like that, but then I was just letting the film carry me if I'm honest. What moments were you referring to (spoiler tagged for those that have not seen it yet)?

  6. I still play occasionally. I'm up to chapter four in Knights of the Eternal Throne, need to get back to that at some point.

If you're asking on here though you should check these out. That's myself, GoGo, SRN and TKz running through Athiss, but from four years ago so a lot has changed since then. I watched it again recently and it's weird looking at all the bits that are in the current UI that aren't there >_>

  7. I'm actually not sure why the spoiler tags in retrospect, I just put them in because Ruki did in the first place. I suppose the only thing it'd really spoiler is Age of Ultron, so.

We're talking about Vision and the Mind Stone, and what's going to happen when Thanos rocks up.

Does Vision die if he loses the stone? Because, Vision is totally gonna die if that is the case.

    Spoiler

That's my guess. Even if he lives, it's not going to go well for him when Thanos shows up for the Mind Stone, and it would suit the Worf Effect that Vision - one of the most overpowered people on Earth in the MCU - gets his ass handed to him by Thanos.

Sometimes when I feel down, I go on the No Man's Sky subreddit and realize that my life could be worse. I could be so consumed with my hatred for Hello Games that I spend hours throwing vitriol at them on reddit. That would be an infinitely worse existence.

That subreddit is why this exists.

  10. Started playing earlier after having to troubleshoot a bit to get past a persistent crash-on-title-screen issue. That said, I'm loving it so far. Started on a planet with toxic rain, then went to one of the moons which was basically frozen tundra (where, I discovered, the water was warmer than the air at night by some 50 degrees celcius, which kind of makes physical sense, so that's cool).

Had to stop for a bit because I'm heading out soon, but I can see myself getting very lost in this game.

Oh shit. That means I can get my surfing Pikachu back that I keep losing every gen due to the stupid "no HMs" rule :o

How does one get a surfing Pikachu without Stadium though? They're ports, but from memory there was no legal way to get a surfing Pikachu in RBY without Stadium.

I saw this movie. I liked this movie. I may or may not have choked up at some points while watching this movie, because oh my god this movie

I haven't read any spoilers in here so it's probably already been discussed, but (SPOILERS FOR THE FORCE AWAKENS OBVS)

      Hide contents

Rey has to be related to Luke or someone important, right? I'm thinking she's either Luke's daughter, or she might be Kylo Ren's sister. There's no way she's as strong as Kylo, a guy with Jedi training, and just a random nobody.

Had a lot of moments during the film where I got choked up because of callbacks to the originals, which were some of my favorite movies as a kid. When Han and Chewie first showed up I nearly cried.

Loved the parallel between Han and Kylo and Luke and Vader.

I'm probably going to go see this in theaters again. And again. Maybe even again.

    Spoiler

Abrams said before the movie was released that Rey's surname wouldn't be revealed, and it's for a reason. Naturally he didn't elaborate on the reason, but based on several things in the movie - her untrained power, the looks Han gave her, the entire Force vision sequence - she's got to be related to someone important. And I've seen quite a few theories about this, from the probably-too-obvious daughter of Luke Skywalker to the very-much-outside possibility of her being related to Count Dooku of all people.

Personally I'd rather the movies just tell me; I'd rather not get caught up in theories at this stage.

I was thinking about it and I would really love an Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan cameo in a Force vision. I just loved how he played the role, especially in Episode III

I'd also enjoy Yoda making a Force ghost appearance at some point. Doesn't need to be much of one, but I think it could be fun.

  14. This movie was everything it needed to be, for me. It felt like Episode IV in some places, which was nice and familiar without being too overbearing, but at the same time a new, modern film. Went with a friend, he said that it felt like a new beginning, which is precisely what this movie should be. Only two gripes:

    1. The whole "blow up the Republic" part was a bit off for me, because there was no indication that there's a Republic to destroy, and there's not much said about it since. No idea what's going on there, hopefully it's expanded on a bit in VIII.

    2. R2 waking up at the end felt like a big deus ex machina, and I'm hoping that's explained a bit more in VIII as well. Was R2 spending his time searching for Luke? Did Luke send him a signal or something?

Overall, though, fantastic film. Loved it.

  15. Crawdaunt's also apparently pretty hilarious in competitive play. Knock Off + Adaptability against anything holding an item is an absurd Dark STAB attack, Crabhammer is nothing to sneeze at, Aqua Jet for priority and Swords Dance to make it even more ridiculous.

I've tried playing it multiple times, but there's too much grinding and backtracking for me to really give any two shits about playing it for the character stories.

Have you tried since patch 4.0? You literally only have to do the class mission on each planet (each of which take max half an hour) to get caught up. They've basically taken out everything grindy and just made it so you play straight through the story.

Yeah there really is no grind now. You can just do your class story and the planet story and still overlevel things. There's a bit of a grind at the very end of where KOTFE's up to, but that's only if you want to do it on more than one character (which I personally can't be arsed to do). I've got a new character that I've been playing that's 10 levels above the current recommended level, and that's without really trying >_>

    Anyone? :(

I kinda want to hang onto my Victini (:shifty:), but I can trade and trade back to give you the dex for it if you want.

  18. Finally. That took long enough.

Pretty sure that's the first time I've managed that. In case anyone's curious, with the event legendaries I have I wound up at 710 of 720 according to my Pokedex. Could probably get to 711 if I sent Keldeo over but at this point I cbf.
