I found this game in a video game museum in Berlin a few months back, and finally got round to looking up a playable version at home. Give it a go... it's insane but makes sense once you work out what's going on.

ROM Check Fail is an action game where players have to eliminate all enemies to complete each level. The task is made a little more difficult by the random switching of gameplay rules where ideas are recycled and remastered as an odd mix of arcade or console classics from the past.
You start off as a random character from a random game. Each character has different abilities:

Mario (Super Mario Brothers) - jump on enemies to kill.

Pac-Man (Pac-Man) - eat the super pellet that appears on the screen to turn enemies into blue ghosts. Then, you can eat them by going over them.

Link (The Legend of Zelda) - use sword to kill.

Spaceship (Space Invaders) - can only move left and right. To kill, shoot bullet.

Spaceship #2 (Asteroids!) - can go anywhere. Aim with left and right, boost with up. To kill, shoot bullet.

Spaceship (Defender) - can move left, right, up, and down, but can only shoot left or right.  To kill, shoot line.

Controls:

up, down, left, right - move            space bar- jump (Mario only), other

The game has 20 levels in all. To  beat a level, all enemies must be killed like:

Goomba (Super Mario Brothers)

Ghosts (Gauntlet)

Invaders (Space Invaders)

Colorful blocks (Breakout!)

Asteroids (Asteroids!)

Blue ghosts (not really a killer enemy, but you can eat them with Pac-Man [see Pac-Man on the list of characters] by getting the pellet.)

Please note everything will change after about 5 seconds in game, so be quick.

You have 3 lives. every level cleared rewards an extra 1-up. loose all 3, and its game over.

Once all 20 levels are cleared, the game will restart only on a higher difficulty.

Gimmick/personality: She gets fired up on beer, and when the weekends here she likes to exercise her right to get paralytic and fight.

Some people like her, some people don't, that's fine she knows everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Looks: About 5'5 and wears camouflage pants and a purple t-shirt. Fun sized. A growth hormone makes her grow a beard like Mufusa. Fair hair, she's white but is actually black.

Moves: By the time it's finisher time, she so wasted, she just ends up hitting them with a splash. She calls it the Hiccup.

The opposite game would be 'Who hears it the most.' Chance of winning that one.

Goalkeepers have turned into complete Near post Nigel's. 

Apart from that it's the same game. There's a lot going on with Ultimate Team. 

Anyone else impatient enough to buy this game 3 days early?

I really think I favor my revolver more than anything.  The bow arrow is actually really well done also, that is a lot of fun. 

I haven't donated much to camp this time. I always supply the camp with fresh carcasses and items of value. But I'm sitt6on 800 bucks and a gold ingot I want to sell.

Oh and Dutch, he's obviously a manipulator but has a sort Bill the Butcher charm. A bad guy you can't help but dig.

Just as a general heads up, Chapter 3 would be the perfect time to start doing more side quests, hunting and all the fun quirky things before progressing further. 

I never knew this was a thing.

Realistically it's Red Dead 2. Personal experience though, the greatest game i've ever played will always be Shenmue.

I really don't keep up with modern music these days, but discovering these guys before seeing them at Slam Dunk made my festival.

The Getaway. It looked amazing, and was so good to have a very detailed map of London as the setting. I enjoyed the story... well as much as I could handle anyways since the gameplay was just awful.

It's a good game, but the developers don't care about it enough to add basic features like you know, invite a friend.

You can play it in your browser and a little know how of MS-DOS to configure the sound.

RTS game from 1996. Pretty basic and easy to pick up. You're the red team, and all you need to do is take the blue teams base, with some added comedy. @9 to 5 recommends it.

Time to trade in all those untradeable shines in SBC. Out of 4 BPL premium upgrade packs, i got Davidson Sanchez, Kyle Walker, Mesut Ozil and TOTW Boly. Even the standard ones can be good... out of about 8 packs i landed an Allison.

This Points Division league in Ultimate Team is pretty interesting. Although all 5 of my qualifying games were against people with 82-85 rated team... compared to my 67 rated English team. Lost 4 drew 1 and been placed in Division 6.

Since then ive won 4 and drew 1, and i'm still going up against 82-85 rated teams... where as i'm sticking to my 67 rated English team. Where are all the uncoordinated jobber team you get in the first week on Ultimate Team  😂

This review pretty much nails everything if you've never heard of Shenmue before. I still think it's a fantastic story and the game can still hold it's own nearly 20 years later. The dub is bad in places, but I find it more humorous than cringe. Highly recommend the remake.
