  1. I've been tempted to do a replay of IX myself. I still need to go back and finish off my Persona 3 playthrough before that remake drops though.

With all the rumblings of a FFIX remake, I certainly want to replay it before that gets released.

It feels like a great time to be a fan of those PS1/PS2 era RPGs.

Oh wow, I feel like I am just getting into the main section of the game now. I just unlocked hunts last night!

But man, the side quests are dull.

    Yeah, they're not the best.

You do get some decent rewards for some of them though like increasing the potency of potions and how many items you can hold.

  3. I'm heading into the last dungeon of FF16. Got a handful of hunts to do first though.

The story is no great shakes but I've really enjoyed the characters and how their relationships and progressed and developed over the course of the game. Clive is solemn without coming across as unbearably miserable, Cid is Balthier 2.0 (always welcome), Torgal is the bestest boy and I won't go into other party members that would cause spoilers.

My only major bugbear is that the second-half of the game feels very formulaic: a long battle section and then back to base to do a bunch of rather tedious side-missions - again and again. It creates a lack of flow in the game and feels rather clunky.

Still though, it's the best mainline Final Fantasy game in a long time and I hope the trend continues.

No, Atlus, you can fuck off with this.

If you choose to later make a Royal/Golden-type 'definitive' version of P3 Reload, or release things like FemC or The Answer as DLC, we can talk then.

But for now, I am supremely unmotivated to buy a shiny version of an even less complete form of the game I've already experienced.

I'm 99% sure this is the route Atlus is going to take.

Which makes me want to wait for the complete version...but I know probably won't.

  5. Was at a bar with a few friends and we were talking about the Bears and who they'd trade with.

The Panthers were mentioned as a possible partner and I said there was no way they'd give up DJ Moore. About five minutes later the trade broke and I'm ordering two Bears' jerseys - one with Fields and one with Moore on the back.

Pick 9 is a great spot to get a tackle too. Either Johnson or Skoronski would really help the o-line.

Apparently a bunch of kids were out at 1 AM with Nerf guns and Joe Mixon got scared that a kid had a real gun and shot him. Thankfully it was in the leg and the kid is fine. The tweet where I first found out about this was actually ended with #whodey. Fans are fucking weird dude. Like I don't know if I blame Mixon for this happening but if say Justin Fields did the same thing I wouldn't be like "QB shot a guy last night! #Beardown".

"Told you that Fields doesn't have accuracy issues. #Beardown"

  7. I've played Persona 3 and 4 before (albeit FES for 3) so I knew what I was in for. 3 has really aged poorly though. I'm hoping the rumours of a remake are true and a lot of the grindier/more punishing elements are remove.

I do like how in Portable, you can stay in Tartarus without the annoying "You're tired" message. So I generally run through from beginning to gate once, and then spend the rest of my time doing the social stuff. But I am currently in section 5... which I think had 3-5 bosses before you hit the next gate. SOOO LONG.

That's good to know. That was a bane of my first playthrough of Persona 3. Let me level grind, dammit!

All our local guys are saying Barkley to the Bears. Is that just wishful thinking or is there anything behind that? Right now it just seems like "Oh man wouldn't that be cool?" kinda reporting

I think it's just wishful thinking at this point.

The Bears have a crazy amount of cap space heading into next season though. FA and the draft will likely run through Chicago.
