For some odd reason, I can see closers slowly start to get more respect from the HoF voters. On that note, I can definitely see the likes of Lee Smith (1st all time in Saves), John Franco (1st among lefties in saves), Trevor Hoffman, and Mariano Rivera get the call. Maybe not in their 1st year of eligibility, but they will get the call sooner or later.

Troy, you listening to the CardPlayer live audiocast, or are you just following the logs from the site?
When Raymer went down, I immediately turned my support to Mike Matusow. Now that he's gone, I'll take Steve Dannenmann for no reason.

I was pulling for Raymer to repeat, but with him out, I'm throwing my support to Mike Matusow. The guy's a great player, and I want to see a pro show up all these amateurs.

I bought NCAA Football 2005 as soon as it came out. This will be no different. I can't wait for it, and I really like the looks of the Race for the Heisman feature. Hopefully they'll still have a regular dynasty mode, since I enjoy that too. Like some of you said, this series just keeps getting better.

NBA Street V3: 9.5/10
Best NBA Jam-esque experience I've had in a long time. Using my piss-poor created player to dunk on Shaquille O'Neal = priceless B)

Yeah, the Yanks definitely have major issues. Tino's looked terrible. Giambi can't field. Bernie is pretty much done. A-Rod can't handle a major situation against the Red Sox. The bullpen's been terrible. The SP is overrated.
You couldn't be anymore dead on there. The Yankees are really beginning to look their age.
Back to Heilman for a second though. Something tells me that he knew this was basically his last chance to get it right. Hopefully Rick Peterson isn't done with him yet, and he keeps improving.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 2005: 8.75/10. I love the TW games, and this one is no exception. Kicking the teeth out of the made-up characters is always fun. Helps that it's easy to pick up and play too

Major League Baseball 2k5: 9/10
Baseball at its best. I hope I can rent MVP Baseball 2005 and MLB 2006 soon so that I can compare the 3 games.

Dammit, full. My team would have been named Vastly Overrated, because I always end up finishing last in these leagues with good players.

The inevitable has happened. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman is on now announcing the cancellation of the 2004-2005 NHL season. I for one miss the NHL. I miss watching my Devils and Islanders.
Hopefully they find a way to settle before next season gets into any doubt.

Those are bad beats, smartass. I ALWAYS get my money in with the best hand. I'm the guy that always gets screwed.

Only problem with Full Tilt is that they require you to put $50 in. Some sites allow you to put smaller sums like $20 in.
Other than that, FTP is an excellent site. I don't really play much anymore, I just go on there to chat with pros.

The PBA is mourning the loss of PBA Hall of Famer and 26-time PBA Tour champion Dick Weber, who passed away in his sleep Sunday night.
“The PBA is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of bowling legend Dick Weber. His achievements on the lanes are equaled and surpassed only by his legacy off the lanes,” said PBA Tour Commissioner Fred Schreyer. “He was a great competitor and champion, and he was an outstanding ambassador for our sport. More importantly, Dick was a truly good, compassionate person who treated everyone like family. We send our condolences out to the Weber family.”
Weber, born Dec. 23, 1929, was a PBA Charter Member and enjoyed a storied career, capturing 26 PBA Tour titles and six PBA Senior Tour titles. He was elected to the American Bowling Congress (ABC) Hall of Fame in 1970 and was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in 1975.
“Not only is it a tremendous loss for our sport, but it’s a loss for all of sport,” said PBA President and CEO Steve Miller. “His bowling history is well documented, but what is less documented was his character, personality and humanity. I’m going to miss him on a professional and personal level.”
In addition, Weber won the BPAA All-Star (The U.S. Open’s predecessor) on four occasions, was named the Bowler of the Year three times (1961, ’63 and ’65) and won the PBA Player of the Year Award in 1965.

RIP Dick Weber, thanks for all you've done for the PBA.

Yeah, didn't know he was still around until now. Good fighter too. RIP

*sigh* As one of the few Americans who likes Hockey on this board, I am very saddened that the season will be cancelled
I hope that this strike can be sorted out soon, I don't want NEXT season to get cancelled either.

I was just reading the results of the matches today, and I was impressed with how Exeter held up against Manchester United. Granted, Man U didn't field their strongest team, but the replay should be a good match if Exeter can keep it close.

I still play on Full Tilt. I had my bankroll up over $200 and went bust at an Omaha table playing against Andy Bloch.
I had originally won the start of my bankroll ($45) by finishing 5th in one of their early freerolls. I don't really play anymore, but if I do, I play the play money sit and go's, and watch the pros play.

What they did the body press thing? If so, that's not really that cheap though, considering they do it in real life, but it would be better if they had some kind of, thing where you had the possibility of staying on the apron. And if not, and they just threw you over, well that's because you were in red. So yea, makes sense.

Sorry ROC...I get you and Gongsun mixed up for some strange reason
Anyway, back on topic somewhat...the SNES owned. I actually still play it once in awhile to this day, just to get my old school fix.
I'm starting to feel bad that I get confused with penis-hand.

The 7-2 offsuit is the greatest hand in poker
Go all in with it everytime.
Seriously, because you're just starting out, I suggest playing supertight and only playing these hands.
A-A, K-K, A-K, Q-Q, A-Q, J-J, 10-10, A-J, K-Q, Q-J
If you have the top 3 hands (A-A, K-K, or A-K), you can almost always justify going all in pre-flop, unless you have A-K and you believe that your opponent has a better hand (like K-K or A-A)
Tips stolen from Phil Hellmuth's "Play Poker Like The Pros"
