  1. Glad to see that the 360 is finally getting a good, pure online fighter. I like DOA4 as much as the next guy, but its online was just deplorable and still is.

    Also, ST: HD? What's that stand for? >_>;

  2. Just wanted to say that mine is actually Frisky Florist. Seriously, just don't ask.

Also, so this post isn't a waste, y'all need to buy Overlord so I have some friends to pillage online with. Oh, and Carcassone (sp) is freaking awesome if you are into that kind of thing like I am. I'm just about addicted to it.

P.S. Does anyone other than me have Tenchu Z? I'd love to play some co-op.

  3. Boom Boom Rocket

I bought this game last night and thought I'd write up what I thought about it for this thread, because not everyone will be like Krauser and send me a PM to ask me what I think of it.

It's shockingly good. My favourite game on the Xbox Live Arcade service is Geometry Wars, and this is made by the same people and has a similar vibe to it. I assume this plays in a similar fashion to Guitar Hero, but without the immense price tag associated with all the controller peripherals you have to buy to play it. As such, I'd happily recommend it to people like myself that like the concept behind the Guitar Hero franchise, but don't have the money to spend on it. I'm not going to suggest that Boom Boom Rocket is as good as Guitar Hero, far from it, but as far as cheaper alternatives go - this isn't bad at all.

I dig the simplistic gameplay and classical music. I dig the multiplayer aspect, and the pick-up and play factor. (Easy is accessible for EVERYONE, whilst Hard is only for those for three hands and those that don't mind using a fourth hand to waft away the steam rising from the controller, such is the speed of the hectic level of difficulty.)

Its plus sides are that it is a cheap alternative to the more expensive rhythm games, and is good family fun the likes of which I haven't seen since we discovered 'Bop It'.

Thumbs up, 800 Microsoft Points well spent in my opinion. Great fun.

  4. Bomberman: Act Zero and FIFA 07 are also on the horizon, however I refuse to pay full price for them. Most shops have them for £50, but I'll wait until I can find them for ~£20. Whether that's through a special offer, waiting for a price drop, or eBay - I don't care. I'm not paying £50, especially for FIFA 07, which will plummet in price as soon as FIFA 08 is released.
  5. I can understand why people are so mad about the DLC but to me, it's fine. My reasoning is this: if I wanted to play Guitar Hero I for the PS2 I would have to buy:

    Guitar Hero: 40$

Guitar to play Guitar Hero: 50$ (most likely 60$ but I'll lower it to be fair)

    PS2: 130$

Which all adds up to 220$. Yes, I know people will say "yeah, but the PS2 is worth it" and all that, but I myself would much rather just pay 18$ or so a month (maybe more or less depending on how often they release them) to add life to a game I enjoy without having to pay over 200$ all at once for a system that's on its way out. Should RedOctane just release GHI on the 360? Sure, why not. Do I really care if they do? Not really.

Maybe I'm just insane but I don't see it as a rip-off. iTunes wants .99 a song. Why not pay about 2$ for a song you actually get to play?

    Yeah, I suppose I'm just insane. @_@

  6. Honestly, the thing I'm most happy about with the update is the fact that you get kills when you roll into a frag tagger now. I always hated how that was a cheap way of taking a kill from you.

Oh, and Annex is fun too. : )

  8. I'm really pumped about this as I really was looking for a reason to start playing MUA again. I couldn't care less about the villains but I definetely want to put Hawkeye and the Hulk on my team. Especially Hawkeye.

Kaney, it's official. When this content comes out we're playing through this, start to finish. :shifty:

  9. Not sure if anyone has checked yet, but Castelvania SOTN just dropped onto the arcade this morning. I only got to play for a few minutes before coming downstairs but I'm already pumped and anxious to beat it again.

Anyone who has some MS points to spare should pick this game up. I doubt you'll find a longer, deeper game on the XBLA currently or anytime soon. (Y)

  10. To the person who asked if RE:DS is any good, yes, it definetely is. It's pretty much a direct port of the PSX version but with the ability to use the stylus as well as an extra minigame. Hearing Barry's bad voice acting 10 years later fills my heart with glee. : )

As for Final Fantasy, same deal. The graphics are a bit on the klunky side and take some getting used to, but the game is just really easy to get sucked into.

Trauma Center, as someone mentioned, is one of the most inovative games I've played in years. It IS incredibly difficult though, but I'd say it's worth it.

Elite Beat Agents is a must if you enjoy rhythm-based games. It's fun, quirky style makes it enjoyable and the increasing difficulty levels make you want to come back for more. Plus, where else can you see an overweight ninja sneak into a building to "Canned Heat"?

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is awesome, simply put. You obviously know the deal with Castlevania games, but this one adds in the ability to play with a friend over WiFi. Pretty sweet, if I do say so myself.

One game that you can pick up cheap that I personally enjoy is Viewtiful Joe (I forget the full name). It's an early DS game so it may not appeal to a lot of people, but I thought it was really fun.

Lastly, if you like point-and-click games, pick up both Phoenix Wright 1 and 2 as well as Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Both offer a gaming style you won't likely find in most games in the US (or UK, for that matter).

  11. A tournament sounds fun, I'd definetely join in.

Also, Kaney and myself were discussing the possibility of doing another online league if enough people were interested. It would 99% likely be no CAWS. So, would anyone want to join in? I just really need a reason to start playing this again.

  12. I still say me and my elite team can take on anyone in a first to 5 execution game and come out victorious.

Krauser knows the greatness of the AwesomeBot All Star team

    Anyone dare challenge us?

  13. I FINALLY DID A BARREL ROLL FUCK YEAH

In other news, a few glitches:

Throwing a body into the ocean gives you the 'Throw Something 200 Feet' Acheivement

Driving on a breakable structure (I did this on a crate) gives you the 6 second jump achievement. Krauser was trying so hard to get this one, and I glitched my way to it :P
