  1. So did they completely remove the feature to be able to trade CAWs online? While I hated how the system was handled (I think a locker system people can just freely download and rate your work is much better) I hate doing CAWs off of formulas that much more. I'm not sure if they removed it or I'm just not seeing it.

  2. Seriously all I want to do is to have a fairly realistic match. Some douche was HBK and was spamming the flying tackle and punches move. I'd get up and he'd run at me every time and do it. I will admit my reversal game is lacking right now but still try something else. When I play I try and play like it might happen in real life, I like working body parts, changing my offense up and things like that. I also don't always pick Orton/Triple H/Taker every match. I was Elijah Burke in the match against HBK and so in my head I was the heel so I was holding onto submissions instead of breaking the hold and doing that kind of thing and then the guy saw me do it so he started doing that too. Maybe I'm just a weirdo.

  3. I'd like to be included. Gamefly should have my copy here in the next few days.

    Console - Xbox 360

    Gamertag - JoeMimic

    Superstar - Triple H

Hopefully this turns out well. I've always wanted to play online but I always run into the same kind of spamming dick that irritates the crap out of me. (Y)

  4. They really hyped the crap out of this game. Motion capture by TNA stars, input from TNA wrestlers, and lots of schilling by the stars themselves that this game was going to blow SVR out of the water. I'd love to hear what some of the wrestlers really think of the game.

  5. Link

Here's a link to another new Kanye song called Coldest Winter...I really don't think I'm going to buy his new album. If I wanted to buy an album full of love songs I'd buy John Legend's album. Ditch the auto-tune and bring back the rap Ye.

  6. I wonder if they'll change the way sharing a CAW is done, I'd like to see a locker type feature where you can search by user name/gamer tag or whatever CAW you're looking for and then just be able to download it. Trading is cool but is really rough for people with no CAW skills or people who are just getting the game.

  7. It could also be useful if anyone finds any glitches to exploit. Only 30 second clips but those will be better then those home cam clips on youtube. This would be handy for anyone who runs some kind of fed off of SVR to show the finishes to simulated matches on their cards.

  8. WWE SVR 09: Highlight Reel Announced

Create, edit, and share your best in-ring moments with this year's game.

    by Greg Miller

October 13, 2008 - There's a buzzword in the videogame world right now; it's community. True, games have always had dedicated audiences that were linked together by message boards, tin cans on string, etc., but now the merging of games and online functions is creating all sorts of ways for fans to get together and go nuts about their favs.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 is no exception. In addition to the usual online matches, SVR 09 is tossing in Highlight Reel, an option where you can record parts of your matches, save them, edit them together, and then upload the file for the world to see.

    OMFG.

The feature seems like it'll be easy enough to use. Players will do something cool in their matches; pause the game; and have the option to watch the last 30 seconds of gameplay while changing camera angles, manually moving the point of view, and fast forwarding and rewinding at will. If you dig a 30-second spot, you can save the clip and continue the match -- saving other replays whenever you feel like it. When the match is over, you can jump into the Highlight Reel option and get to work on your masterpiece.

Once you're in the editing tool, you're going to have a handful of options at your fingertips. You can toss in multiple clips, put transitions between them, add effects such as slow motion and filters, and pipe in sounds that include music from your system's playlist. There will be editable graphics and logos, the ability to change camera angles here as well, and more. When it's all said and done, you can create a custom, virtual DVD Cover with different backgrounds, Superstar photos, graphics, and custom text. You can even create your own screenshots -- complete with graphics, filters and more -- in the editing tool.

You'll be able to save 20 of these movies, and yes, your created Superstars and finishers will be supported in this mode. When you think you've got squared-circle gold, you can upload your videos and/or screens and hop on the SVR server to download what the other rabid WWE fans have made.

Pretty cool feature, especially for guys who make CAWs and want to show them off.

  9. Can we get another Roots album? :( Maybe a new Blackstar album? Something without Akon or T-Pain on it?

The Roots just came out with one in April <_<

I know. I'll take anything Black Thought is rhyming on over most of everything else.

  10. TI has been pretty hit or miss with me since Urban Legend. I can't stand "Whatever You Like" it reminds me of Slow Jamz that Kanye, Twista, and Jamie Foxx did a few years back. Especially the way TI raps in that song it sounds just like Kanye's flow did in Slow Jamz. The song with Rihanna is alright but it's another mainstream radio song. Swagga Like Us is good except for Wayne and Ye using that awful autotune crap. I wish that would just die already, everyone is using it now. TI steals that song in my opinion even though Jay also showed up. No Matter What is good song as is On Top Of The World with Luda but that hook is awful and makes me not want to listen to the song. It's better then TI Vs TIP though...that album only got a couple of spins in my world before I couldn't listen to it again.

It looks like we're getting another Kanye album in November. I wish I could be excited but if the whole album is done like Love Lockdown I don't think I'll be buying it. I've listen to that song 5 or 6 times and I just don't like it.

Can we get another Roots album? :( Maybe a new Blackstar album? Something without Akon or T-Pain on it?

  11. Is there going to be a any storylines in season mode? Or will it be all stats and the like?

I haven't read anything officially but I think the season mode won't have storylines and you'll have the other mode with the 7 wrestlers with detailed specific storylines, voiceovers and different endings and story branches.

I didn't buy last years version but THQ has certainly caught my eye with now having a way for everyone to use their favorite wrestler in more then just exhibition matches. I'm not sure if Midway finally releasing TNA Impact had anything to do with them stepping up their game a little bit but I'm glad. I read on the Q/A that the Cory Lesdema (I think thats his name) said that this year definitely has the best actual gameplay of any of the past iterations so I'm hoping that's the case.

  12. wow that actually sounds buyable :)

and looking at the roster editor it will also mean i could play with a character like the miz :)

You can play with any roster member or created wrestler. Which means I'm sure you can add a created guy or hopefully a few ala HCTP so you can continue to update rosters.

  13. With the release for THQ's WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 fast approaching, the publisher has released a bunch of exclusive assets and info on the all-new Career Mode.

Career Mode will be open to all playable characters, including created Superstars, Divas and hidden characters. Exactly where players start will depend on which character is selected, but you'll begin on the first championship path. This requires moving to the top of the pecking order in in a group of contenders and getting a title shot at one of WWE's Pay-Per-View events. Everything from rosters to rules can be customized, and additional match types will be unlocked in new paths.

Players won't only be required to win, but will need to do so in style. Matches will be rated on a five-star scale, and a certain total number of stars are required to continue along the championship paths. Earning three stars in a bout is good, but higher ratings will require being involved in more exciting matches - stick to repetitive, consistent game plans and you won't get far.

Career Mode will feature 10 championships to earn, one is open to Divas and another is male exclusive, but the rest are open to all comers. Throughout the year special events will pop up, which if won could provide a fast track to a title shot.

The mode won't be entirely focused on winning championships, with character progression also being important. Superstars will start with modest attribute levels, with every match being an opportunity to gain experience across eight different areas: durability, strength, speed, submission, technical, stamina, charisma and hardcore. Each attribute score is combined to form an overall wrestler score. The experience will be a little different if players choose to create their own Superstar. Here special Superstar abilities will be unlocked, such as Submission Specialist and Move Theft.

Career Mode will also be packed full of statistics, offering records for wins and losses and stats such as finisher-per-match average, successful reversal percentage, time spent out of the ring and many more.

End-of-match awards will blend Superstar attributes with stats. If a player manually stops the referee's pin count four times in one match a Continue the Pain award will be given. This grants a one-time boost to a Superstar's charisma attribute. Going an entire match without striking earns the One Strike award and gives the Superstar a strength boost. There's approximately 100 awards hidden in the game.

You can see the new mode in action by heading over to the VideoGamer.com video player and if you head elsewhere you'll also find a bunch of new screen shots for PS3 and Xbox 360.

SmackDown vs Raw 2009 is scheduled for release on November 7.

Now that's what I'm talking about.
