Been in Australia, I hadn't got a chance to catch any of the early games but sitting down and watching Florida vs UCSB right now, which is pretty boring, Florida is just hammering them... Also flicking channels and watching BYU vs Wofford, I tipped Wofford and I really hope they can end BYU, been a pretty scrappy game, both teams just trying to draw fouls on each other...

Decent weekend of footy in the NRL nothing too shocking I don't think... I got 5 out of 8 in our tipping thing... Was glad to see the Raiders take care of business against the Sharks like they were sposed to... Should be a good year for the Raiders but I'm just hoping they don't settle for a finals spot... They need to aim high and try and solidify a top four position...

UNC-Ashville getting the win didn't really surprise me earlier but I don't think I tipped em either... Right now though Clemson is ripping apart UAB and showing everyone that UAB definately didn't deserve that spot... Clemson vs West Virginia should be a good game to watch in the next round...

Yeah I hate the passing in this game... My Player mode sucks for it... My guy averages like 4-5 turnovers and they'll all be from me thinking im making a smart and good pass to a guy wide open in the middle of the lane but no it trys to make an impossible pass to teh corner where the guy is completely covered... so frustrating!

I'm sorry but I find that to be pretty stupid... I think both Duke & North Carolina deserve #1 & #2 seed, maybe you could make a case for UNC to get a #3 seed in the end but if they can justify giving Florida a #2 seed than UNC definately deserve a #2 also... What I can't understand though is how Florida State made it in over Virginia Tech, when I think both teams should have missed out all together but to say its that the ACC was lobbying for for other teams is stupid... If you had to pick one to go through, wouldn't you pick the team that beat the other only days before selection sunday? Colorado didn't really deserve it either, thats why they were left out, well thats why I would have left them out anyway... geez, they finished 21-13, they won some big games towards the end of the year but NIT is rightfully where they along with VT and Florida State should be... T How doesn't a team like Saint Mary's make the field but teams like VCU does? I think some of the seeding for this years tournament is off but its the same with any NCAA selection event, its not going to make everyone happy and I'd still rather this system than the BCS...

I don't like how they've done the four play in games... I thought they would have done it with the 8 worst teams play the play in games and then enter as the 16 seed, just think that is the fairest way to do it... instead you've got two play in games for 11th or 12th seed, I don't think thats right... As for the bracket... I think Ohio State has a pretty cushy run to the Elite Eight where things start getting tough... The west and southeast brackets look shit but I still think Duke makes it out of the west easily and BYU loses in the first round to Wofford! How the hell does Florida end up with a 2 seed? Granted I havn't paid much attention to them this season, but I don't think they've done anything to special have they... plus they didn't even win the SEC tournament... In the end the only #1 seed I can see struggling in this field is still Pitt (even with an easy looking field)... I am intrigued by some of the smaller first round matchups though... like Kansas State vs Utah State or St. Johns vs Gonzaga... There were a few teams that got snubbed that I'd rather see in but I guess not everybody can be happy today... I'm still looking forward to what should be an action packed tournament! Edit - I also just joined the yahoo pick em thing and my bracket is the "Come on Duke!!!" one...

I gotta agree with you naiwf... Ben Hansbrough has to be the biggest douchebag I've seen playing college basketball this season... Was pretty happy that they blew that game and he played shit... and yes catching an elbow to the face would have made it just that little bit better... I think Uconn will get the better of Louisville tomorrow and I'm expecting another big game from Kemba Walker... I really can't see anyone in the Big East winning the national championship this season though... Whilst they're all good teams, I just don't think any of them has what it takes to get through the tournament...

Yeah Jimmer is going off right now... I'd rather New Mexico win the MWC but I don't think they have a chance even if they come back in this game... So glad Duke got the win today but damn losing Nolan Smith with an injury will be tough if its a big injury I don't think they'll get very far without him...

Warriors 11. Eels 12. Broncos 13. Cowboys 14. Sea Eagles 15. Knights 16. Sharks I think this season will be one of the more competitive in ages... I think the Warriors n Panthers could possibly make the top 8 as well but I just can't seen any of the others making it in...

Yeah sources are saying Miami is the likliest team to get Bibby's services and it looks like Troy Murphy could be following him there too... Murphy is choosing between Celtics n Heat it says but he favors the Heat... Heat would then have to cut two spot to bring these guys in and the two candidates seem to be Carlos Arroyo and Jamaal Magloire for some reason... Read all this over at espn.com if anyone wants to go there to read the articles...

The world club challenge was a good game... missed the start so can't comment on that but there was some great defense played by both teams... Wigan looked like they were easily gaining the metres to get up the field they just couldn't get past the strong sliding defense of St. George...

Yeah I've got to agree with Sandow on that one... I also don't think it'd be wise for a few other teams with younger coaches to take him on such as Newcastle, I'm from Newcastle (not really a fan though) and they've been talkin bout it heaps lately, I don't think Rick Stone is the best coach for them either but I think it'd be a mistake to bring Bennett in for a short stint... I think Bennett is doing a good job in St. George and will be ready to retire in a couple of seasons anyway, I don't see the need to bring him in for a 1 or 2 season stint only to have to go back out and find a new coach immediately after...

I too am in the belief that it will be incredibly harder now for Boston to win a championship this season... I've got no faith in Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett remaining healthy for the remainder of the year either which will make it almost impossible if they're not healthy come playoff time... I don't know who will make it out of the East... As far as the West is concerned I think that the only teams that can win are SA, Dallas & LA with OCK giving some teams are scare down the stretch but probably a season away from been championship contenders...

Hmmmm my Phoenix Suns traded Goran Dragic and a lottery protected 1st round pick to Houston for Aaron Brooks... I wasn't a big fan of Dragic, so hopefully this works out, I just hope that Brooks can get over his injuries and be a good backup in Phoenix... I see his style of play gelling well and I don't think its that much of risk swapping him and Dragic this late into the season... I think the OKC and BOS deal makes OKC a lot stronger and I wouldn't be surprised to see them surpass the Lakers now and into the third seed in the West... Getting Perkins was a steal, who when healthy is a good starting C and Nate coming off the bench behind Westbrook and providing some extra scoring punch gives them alot of weapons... I admit whilst the draft isn't all that deep this year, they've all got decent talent, you've just got to pick the right ones to fit into the system your running... I can see people looking back on this draft in a few years and saying it was shit but I can also see it turning out to be a decent class...

Was just browsing around on espn.com and it turns out that the LA Clippers and the Cleveland Cavaliers have come to terms on a deal as well... Cleveland Recieves: Baron Davis & 2011 1st Round Pick Clippers Recieve: Mo Williams & Jamario Moon Pretty interesting trade... I think the Clippers do get better but I don't think I would have given up the 2011 1st round pick for either one of those guys... Obviously it saves them plenty of cash but Davis was getting some pretty good chemistry going with Griffin and I would have much preferred to have seen Davis n Griffin than Williams n Griffin... Trade also reunites Baron Davis with Byron Scott which didn't end to well the first time, should definately be an interesting trade to keep an eye on the ramifications...
