This could get ugly for Sheff Utd.

    It already is.

In other news, how shit must Burnley be to be only above us on goal difference...

Glad we got this one sorted. Liverpool and Brighton were apparently both sniffing around. Good to get some young talent locked down for a little while. He'll probably be starting next year in the Champ.

  2. Astounded that we've made it this far; still buzzing from last night.

Realistically, this is probably as far as we get (on their day, the 9ers are the best team in the league for me - them or the Ravens). Still, immensely proud of the team and the turnaround that's happened. Obviously, any given Sunday and all that, so lets see how it goes.

  3. We've confirmed the signing of Brereton-Diaz on loan. Happy with that. We're by far the cash poorest club in the league so gotta try and get deals where we can. We're probs screwed, but it's good that we're actually making a go of it.

Now, if we can sign either Kasper Schmeichel or Viktor Johansson I'll be happier about our GK situation.

Slow Horses Season 3, another great season. Gary Oldman is fantastic in it again, can’t wait for Season 4.

Just smashes through that in 2 days. Brilliant stuff and will defo feature highly in my end of the year list.

We've now moved onto A Murder at the End of the World. Slow / steady pacing and slightly overlong epsiodes aside, it's good and interesting enough to continue.

I watched Zack Synder Presents: Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire: A Zack Snyder Production so you don't have to!  (Seriouslyfortheloveofgoddon'twatchthismovieitwasterrible)

Scenes are lifted almost 1:1 from other, better media franchises.  Its too on the nose to be called an homage.  It really is just Zack Snyder being a hack who thinks he's an auteur.  The premise of the movie is "Mass Effect: Stupid Edition" where the main character, Kora, goes from planet to planet, recruiting people.  Except unlike Mass Effect, you don't learn the background of any of them.  Every recruitment is

    "Help me defend my village"

    No

    "Please?"

    Ok sure

Except for one.  The sword lady.  They just go to her, watch her kill a spiderlady, and suddenly she's with them.  They never ask her to help, she never says she will, she's just there now.

They recruit a beastmaster who tames a Griffin...you know, one of these

    f1dc2ba4b8ba4db5dce24fb3d5753d65.jpg

They then leave the Griffin behind, and he tames no other beasts during the movie

The weapons made no sense.  They appear to be ballistic weapons, you see them loading clips.  But when they hit something, they seem to explode into slag, except when they don't.  They shot cleanly through a human body and bone, but in one scene they can't shoot through a wooden table.

The movie is just all over a mess.  There is an attempted gang rape in the first 15 minutes, which only purpose is "See how evil and immoral The Empire Imperium is!!" because in Zack Snyders world, its the only way to show something like that.  Seriously, its the entire plot of Suckerpunch

The movie is 2 hours and 14 minutes long, and next year there is an extended Directors Cut, because Zack Snyder just loves giving himself blowjobs

So its just Seven Samurai / Magnificent Seven / Battle Beyond the Stars? Noted.

  6. I suspect the reason they overturned the goal despite the length of time that passed was that Foderingham could quite easily have collected the cross had he not been yanked back like he was (even being fouled he nearly got one hand on it), so I'm assuming they have interpreted it as that the entire phase of play would have been changed remarkably had he not been fouled.

But yes, its another inconsistent call.

  7. Stumbled across this lovely collab album from Mathew J. Rolin, Cole Pulice and Jen Powers called "Prism". It's instrumental, sort of Ambient Americana meets Spiritual Jazz. Very relaxing and in places uplifting. If you love some tasteful tenor sax action, then I highly recommend. It's warm, summery, somwhat uplifting, pastoral... it's a whole vibe.
