Yeah very lucky. People are getting crashes after all kinds of things (some people can't even progress a day) but most common is after matches. Would be super if SI updated people on it or at least rolled back the update to the previous version so people can play 😕

That is really poor from SI. Thoughts and prayers with all those effected. You could manually delete the update file (the previous update file will still be in there) and switch off your WIFI before you load the game?

I like that the news item felt the need to include a "yes, even the Irish" note.

I thought that too. Looks like according to my game,  the Tories won the election and we left on no deal. It makes the save interesting but I'm still annoyed because this is my 2nd save since I got the game and on the first, brexit was cancelled.

  3. I get everyones point of view, but for me, I remember when Salford were playing in front of less than 100 people in the North West Counties league. They only went up to the Northern Premier First Division when they created the Conference North and South and between then and when the Class of '92 came in, they've only just stayed above the water. I remember when they were managed by Rhodri Giggs and when they had Ben Thornley on the left wing whilst he was working for the local taxi company and those big steps with planks of wood nailed in them in their old stand wasn't comfortable so as my local team, it's great to see where they are now.

  4. I don't get all this hate for Salford City. Yes, they have the money and have been able to recruit well because of it. I live literally around the corner from the stadium and you don't see what else they've done. They've clearly not invested in the club to make money. They've set up an academy structure, they've created a women's team (who won their league this year) and do a lot of work around the community. They couldn't have done any of that if they were still in the Northern Premier League First Division just barely staying up every year and to get kids involved, it will be more attractive to them getting involved in a Football League club that an 8th tier club averaging about 200 every week. Salford have never come close to having a Football League club and it was always made a lot harder with Old Trafford literally a 2 minute walk over the Salford/Trafford border so I think this is awesome for the city.

I've been playing as Boro and had been wondering what was happening with Brexit on this game, since I'm in 2021 and there'd been zero emails or news items at all about it, thought the game had just bugged and not triggered it or something, until just now.

Did they change something in a patch that changed Brexit to be a bit more of an uncertainty or something? Never seen this happen before.

It's just one of the possible outcomes although not leaving is rare on the game. The most common is that the UK leaves but all rules remain the same (soft brexit), the hard brexit one is where all non-UK and Ireland players require work permits less those EU players already playing in the UK and you're allowed a maximum of 17, something similar to that where current work permit rules are relaxed but there's still a maximum number and no brexit at all.

  6. Won the North West Counties League Division One North in my first season with Prestwich Heys. The leagues players player of the year, also the clubs player of the year, a 41 year-old Lee Hendrie. He was actually awesome for me, started every league games and made 23 assists and scored 9 goals. Couldn't convince him to hold off his retirement for another year.

  7. So I finally started a save last night. I started unemployed but quickly got a job with Prestwich Heys in level 10 of the English pyramid, I applied for them as they're pretty local to me. The clubs at that level had no players or staff assigned to them so I'm starting from scratch.

  8. I got this game for Christmas and I'm getting my new laptop tomorrow so I'll finally start it. Some might remember from the FM18 thread that on that I took Bangor City to the Champions League title. This year I've found a good database going down to level 10 so I think I'll give that a whirl.

That would add so many extra games in an already packed season. League, FA Cup, EFL Tropy and FA Vase. Not to mention the Europa League.

Surely it would be less games for those in the Europa League if they don't enter the League Cup.

Regarding selected National League sides, they could be invited so can choose not to participate if that's an issue for them. They could also restructure it back to when it was a straight knock out.

  10. How about the League Cup for all EFL teams and Premier League teams not in Europe?

Keep the EFL Trophy, remove the academy sides and replace them with selected National League sides (which I believe they did at one point). The competition would be better having Leyton Orient, Salford City, Wrexham, Barnet and a few others than Stoke City U21's etc.

Apart from increasing the prize fund, I can't think of other incentives for the top clubs in the FA Cup as said above, UEFA rules state Champions League places come from the League.
