  1. RANGERS VS BARCELONA. Excuse me while I dedicate my life to getting myself some tickets.

And Rangers certainly WON'T be slaughtered.

We can beat Stuttgart and Lyon would be tough but possible. And Rangers vs Barcelona, anything can happen. Rangers always play best against big names, and it doesn't get much bigger.

in my eyes it´s the hardest group of em all and your not on the good end of it. :-/

  2. Craig Gordon is probably not worth £9m but he is the best UK born goalkeeper around and will certainly more than hold his own in the Premiership.

He's a top keeper and a massive prospect - can see him being at a top 4 club within 2 or 3 seasons, unless he bottles it in the big leagues (which I don't think he will).

  3. I thought he was awful in midfield. Dives into tackles and can't really pass the ball that well. He would have been a good signing for Everton or Boro, but I can't see the point of him at Newcastle.

Like I say, I like many others thought he did well in midfield, and was even being brought up by SAF as being the ideal person to replace Keane...if ever anyone could.

  4. Well...Iraq win the Asian Cup, against long odds. Whoever bet on them must be rubbing themselves with the cash right now.

Sadly, the suicide bombers and the idiotic gunfire 'celebrations' have killed over fifty people and wounded plenty more, and ruin what little hope I had for Iraq. Fucking idiots.

  5. Football First is great if you just want to watch lengthy highlights of your own teams game, but the short general highlights section at the end is crap.

I watch matches live on Sky but catch up on the rest of the Premiership games on Match Of The Day, which usually has 3 or 4 games covered to a decent degree and shows all the goals from the other games.

  6. I didn't even know Scotland were in this thing. I just saw us lose in the last few seconds against Costa Rica 2-1, with 10-men on the pitch. And who was the Costa Rican who scored against us just before the final whistle? JOHNATHAN MCDONALD? What the fuck, change your name you smelly Hispanic cockhole, stop trying to be Scottish! >_<

We also finish bottom of our group with losses to Japan (acceptable), Nigeria (acceptable) and now Costa Rica (not acceptable). Had I known Scottish football was going to suck this hard at youth level I'd start going to the gym and sign up. Seriously, this is embarrassing.

  7. I'm not so sure about Le Tallec, I reckon he'll get a season. If he was going anywhere, he would've played today or moved already.

But Bellamy and Cisse leaving is a massive step in the right direction. Bellamy was an improvement on the Cisse's punts & runs, but he's still not a top four player (he could be, just likes a moan too much).

We desperately need a winger, though.

  8. Around £21m in for Bellamy, Cisse, Garcia and Sinama. £21m out for Torres and Voronin. Not bad business.

Even given that Liverpool have also spent around £10m on Lucas and Leto, there should be significant funds for 2 more first team quality attacking players.

I expect Le Tallec and Gonzalez will be moved on this summer as well, which might bring in a few million.

  9. Are there any good left and right wing backs in this game that I could possibly get relatively cheap (i.e. 10m each) and are likely to leave. I know I'm only in September, but van Bronchorst and Zambrotta, particularly the former, aren't really up to the standard of the rest of the team, and I could do with signing one on either side when January rolls around.
  10. Logos:

    Program Files > Football Manager 2007 > Data > Graphics > Pictures > Logos > Normal > Clubs > USA > MLS

To me the image looks like a large logo so you could try moving from the normal folder to the large folder.

And of course the background titlebar logo's should be in

    Program Files > Football Manager 2007 > Data > Graphics > Pictures > Logos > Background > Left or Right > Clubs > USA > MLS

  11. The problem is that, while £5m is an astronomical amount for a fine (Hell, it's nearly 2 weeks wages for some Premiership players :shifty: ) West Ham will now earn £60m or so because they stayed up. Sheff Utd, poor litle paupers that they are, will only get a £20m parachute payment.

So, if my maths is correct: West Ham gained £55m by virtue of not having points docked. Sheff Utd lost £40m by virtue of West Ham not having points docked.

If I was Sheff Utd I'd be fighting the decision until all avenues were exhausted. £60m can buy Bryan Robson a lot of crappy players.

  12. Yeah, their personality has more of an effect than their influence stat, but it's still fairly random.

Except for Robin van Persie...he can't tutor anyone, he seems to piss everyone off. I tried to have him tutor Nacer Barazite and despite having the same personality, they had a falling out.

  13. Is there a stat that determines whether a player will do well when tutoring a youngster? It always seems to be random, I thought it might be influence by I've had players with 18 influence not getting on with the player, but then others with 8 or 9 in influence doing really well.
  14. but those goals have come against pish teams where even Darius Vassell might have nicked a goal or 2.

This argument is ridiculous, because if Crouch's goals were only because of the opposition's lack of quality then surely everyone else would've been filling their boots as well?

  15. Basically, the base of any England squad should look like this:

    Goalkeepers: Robinson

Defenders: Gary Neville, Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and arguably Jamie Carragher.

Midfielders: Joe Cole, Hargreaves, Gerrard, Lampard

Up front: Rooney, Owen (when fit) and arguably Crouch.

12 definites, 2 arguables and then you can basically pick any other 9 players in the knowledge that they will be decent Premiership players but not good enough for a team of England's supposed international standing.

Can I ask you why Rooney is a definate? At the top level he's not done anything in three years so I don't see why he's a cert when there are other players who could warrant the opportunity. Crouch has been our best striker in recent years so surely he gets the priority over a non-scoring striker (for a long time) and one who's played around 13 club games in 21 months.
