  1. Wahey, couldn't even beat frigging Macclesfield.

And some of the names been floated around our message board regarding managers are equal parts hilarious and terrifying. According to more than one pretty reliable source, Steve Staunton applied and has already been interviewed for the job.

    -edit-

Aaaaand Staunton got the job. Not sure about him at all.

  2. Played it for a few hours this arvo, really impressed. Managed to win League 2 with Darlo in Manager Mode, cheated a bit and had my created pro up front. I like how it has enough little differences from 09, on that I used to play on Legendary but here I was having back and forth games on Professional, hopefully I'll improve over time. I'm having a few problems mastering heading, I'm not so bad in open play but I'm struggling when it comes to attacking corners, although I scored a brilliant bullet header in one game which was good. Played one online game, beat Chelsea 2-1 as Villa.

Overall, very very impressed so far.

    Wow, that's REALLY fast.

Has anyone tried loaning players out to see if they return better?

I simmed the majority of it obviously. :P

And I loaned out a reserve who was rated 46 and he came back 48 I think.

  4. I don't really rate Todd but I question the point in him leaving so early in the season. Some muppets think you'll get someone like Paul Jewell in when I wouldn't be surprised to see Windass take over. Hope you turn it around though, always liked Darlo.

Some muppets being the mong who emailed into the Football League Show? They're clearly an idiot and that isn't representative of general opinion amongst Darlo fans. And Windass isn't getting the job, he's leaving too.

And what people from the outside don't seem to realise is just how awful we've been this season. 2 points from 27 is shite no matter what, we never look like scoring, and we haven't even come close to looking like winning a game this season. The chairman has done right to make the change now while there's still time than to waste more time with a manager who just does not have what it takes.

  5. What the hell happened? I turned it off after Bellamy scored, thought that was it, then I just see on Sky Sports Live Center that Owen has scored in the SIXTH minute of injury time? THE HELL? Even as a United fan, I've no clue how there was that much time added.

I take back everything I said in my last post :pervert:

Edit - And Stok, it was more out of anger and two shocking defensive mistakes. I'm an idiot, enough said.

    lol

"A score draw?! We're fucking shit. Ferdinand you joke. I'm turning it off. What, we scored? YESSSSS BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED"

I've never seen anyone encapsulate everything that is shit about glory supporters into one human being as well as you do.

  6. Patrick Swayze, the hunky actor who danced his way into viewers' hearts with "Dirty Dancing" and then broke them with "Ghost," died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.

Fans of the actor were saddened to learn in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from a particularly deadly form of cancer.

He had kept working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting "The Beast," an A&E drama series for which he had already made the pilot. It drew a respectable 1.3 million viewers when the 13 episodes ran in 2009, but A&E said it had reluctantly decided not to renew it for a second season.

Swayze said he opted not to use painkilling drugs while making "The Beast" because they would have taken the edge off his performance. He acknowledged that time might be running out given the grim nature of the disease.

When he first went public with the illness, some reports gave him only weeks to live, but his doctor said his situation was "considerably more optimistic" than that.

"I'd say five years is pretty wishful thinking," Swayze told ABC's Barbara Walters in early 2009. "Two years seems likely if you're going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I'd better get a fire under it."

A three-time Golden Globe nominee, Swayze became a star with his performance as the misunderstood bad-boy Johnny Castle in "Dirty Dancing." As the son of a choreographer who began his career in musical theater, he seemed a natural to play the role.

A coming-of-age romance starring Jennifer Grey as an idealistic young woman on vacation with her family and Swayze as the Catskills resort's sexy (and much older) dance instructor, the film made great use of both his grace on his feet and his muscular physique.

  7. Ah, it's always fun to watch the England backlash. Reading around today, the amount of comments saying we're shite, we had a piss easy group, we'll choke as soon as we meet a decent team etc. If there's one thing more tedious than the media suggesting we're the best team on the planet, it's everyone else sniping at England and England fans.

  8. Unlucky for Scotland, I like to see the home nations do well so was disappointed when the Holland goal went in.

I know this result will have the media saying we've got the World Cup in the bag which is annoying, but I think it's fair to say that Capello is the man to get the most out of the England team. Whether that's enough to win the WC remains to be seen (I suspect not), but it's good to know that we are capable of performing to somewhere near our best.

  9. Same with England beating Germany during a successful period but yet losing to Macedonia too and even the defeat by Croatia that England had the lead in twice IIRC that led to them not making Euro 2008 tends to get brushed aside as "oh, Steve McClaren was manager then.".

At no stage did England lead in that game.

We didn't lose to Macedonia either.

    Good point though.
