Does anyone else have it? I know there was a thread on the old board before it went down, but I didn't have it at the time. Basically, Rise Of Nations is the best RTS. Ever. And it destroys Age Of Empires 2 in terms of depth and entertainment.

Christ, I was addicted to this game up until City of Heroes.

War elephants taking over a capital > 98%

The only gripes I've had are that you can't observe online games (I'd love to watch other people's strategies, and I also just like viewing a lot of games) and that the Americans -- up until the Gunpowder Age -- are insanely weak. Historically speaking, I understand them being one of the weaker nations, but I think they could at least be helped out to the point where 20 Slingers could take out 3 Longbowmen.

This it my favorite non-counsel game, and probobly very close to my favorite game. I love the continential marines, them and the Persian war elephants, I always team with the persians so I can use those.

It's the only RTS game I've ever liked so I'd say you should play it.

It's well worth a try, but be warned. A game usually isn't good unless it goes for about 90 minutes total, with only about 20 minutes of building

I'm at the point where I just go throwdown and the game is over in like 45 mins, It's crazy, I'm usually the Persians and the Americans and fight something like the Spaniards and the Germans....I love just filling the screen with 8 countries and doing the "Colonial Powers" map too.

I usually play against 7 CPU civs, wait until the Information Age and begin nuking countries. I haven't gotten around to disabling the armageddon clock, which is a bitch.
