Is it just me?

Now before I go on I have to say that I don't listen to Metallica at all. But recently my friends (most, of whom listen to them) have been playing alot of it and to me the music sounds like Pink Floyd, maybe it's just what they've been listening too I dunno.

But am I the only one who sees a smiliarity?

I am a fan of Pink Floyd, and have NEVEr seen resemblance between the two. Not the solos, not the riff, not the voice, nor anything.

I can probably go into detail later, but I know there's a song on The Wall which has almost the EXACT same riff as the main one in Fade to Black. I was listening to the CD in the car, so don't know which songs they were, but there are quite a number of songs that must have definitely been inspirations for some of Metallica's stuff.
