Since you're using robots I'd suggest something by the Screamers. Songs such as "Punish or Be Damned" or "Vertigo" would set the stage perfectly for an intergalactic battle.

If you want to stay away from music with synth's and such, then some Geza X would also work well. The song "Isotope Soap" has some great sound effects in the song, sounds that would remind you of two Robots about to rip each other's gears out.
