Swedish experimental extreme metallers MESHUGGAH have set July 13 as the tentative U.S. release date for their new EP, entitled "I". The EP will be issued through Fractured Transmitter Records, the label formed by MUSHROOMHEAD vocalist Jason Mann. A European release date has yet to be announced. The band's next full-length effort, "Catch 33", is not expected before early next year. MESHUGGAH's last album, "Nothing", came out in 2002.

HELL FREAKING YES! I was surfing meshuggah.net today to take a look at the bio on the band site, when I stumbled upon the disco/mp3-section. There, a blank picture next to "I", and with the title of Catch 33... IT IS A NEW ALBUM! Has to be the best day of my week so far, now that I found this out.

BTW, anyone heard the 21-minute "I"? I'm suddenly interested to hear whether or not they can keep it together for that long. Altough for the awesomeness that is Meshuggah, nothing should be too difficult. :)
