I use it at school because they are cheap bastards that don't want to shell out for Photoshop and are riding the open source wave pretty hard.

I don't think I would ever use it as my primary image handler though.

You Might Want to tell your teachers that a full school licsence is only £2000! We're getting it at School next year, then again, I do go to expensive private school! (Y)

I use GIMP. I used it for my neat little Button-O-Rama in my sig.

And yes, I know ... I do suck at it.
