This comes from the IMDb 'alternate versions' page for the classic show.

The Doc and Sprocket sequences in the show were localized for each production country. In Canada, USA, and Germany, Doc was an inventor. In the UK, he was a lighthouse keeper, and in France, a chef.

And Fraggle Rock was fucking awesomeness. There's going to be a film? Why did no-one tell me? Fraggle Rock is what made my childhood.
