Resident Evil 4/Corrupted data problem

So... yeah. I recently bought the RE4 game for the PS2, and whenever I save the game, when I go to load it, it always says it can't load, the data may be corrupted, and when I go to the memory card browser, there it is, corrupted data. The thing is, I don't think it's a problem with the memory card, since I've got lots of games that save just fine. This is the first time a thing like this happens to me, and it happens with every RE4 save game. Any help here on what might be causing this? Pretty please?

It's better on a Gamecube anyway.

Not around here they aren't. They're about 150€, give or take a few, same price as the PS2, I think. I dunno how much that is in dollars, but still, it's a somewhat of a dent in the wallet.

If you are using a memory card that is more then the standard 8MB memory card then the PS2 RE4 save will be corrupt. I had this problem using a 32MB memory card and ended up losing everything on the card since I had to reformat it using Action Replay Max.
