Dark Match: Cruiserweight Championship Match

Matt Hardy © V EZ Money

These two put on one hell of a performance despite not being shown on TV. Matt Hardy and EZ money just click, their styles meshing with one another. Both have the mix of aggression, speed and agility in their attacks. After a good, long match, Matt Hardy manages to hit the Side Effect on EZ Money and successfully defends his title. As Matt holds the title up to the crowd, Kid Kash comes from behind, nabs the title and slaps it across Matt's face. Kid Kash helps his partner up, who stomps Matt a few times, and they leave the ring.

20 second pyro blasts high in the arena, as tens of thousands cheer the start of Wrestlemania.

Tag Team Title Match

La Resistance © w/ Rob Conway V The Mexicools

Super Crazy and Sylvan start off. The Mexicools leave La Resistance running out of ideas with their speed and agility, before Rene lands a big clothesline, and La Resistance start using their power. Rob Conway distracts Super Crazy, but he doesn't fall for it and super kicks an oncoming Sylvan. Rene goes to attack Super Crazy and lands him with punches, then he holds him up as Sylvan goes on top. He goes for a flying clothesline but Super Crazy escapes and Rene, the legal man, gets hit! The ref gets distracted by Rob Conway as the Mexicools double team Sylvan and throw him out. Super Crazy goes for the Moonsault and lands it. Psychosis takes out Rob Conway as the ref counts to 3!

We've had our first title change of the night!

The camera shows a limousine outside. Mr. McMahon comes out of it and walks into the arena.

30 Minute Iron Man Match

Christopher Daniels V Kurt Angle

Christopher comes to the ring with a limp after what Angle did to his ankle. Angle comes out and the match starts. They do some technical moves on each other, then Daniels hits a dropkick out of nowhere. Angle goes for the Angle Slam but Daniels reverses it and rolls Angle up and gets a 3 count in 2:16! Angle is irate and has to be held back during the countdown to start the next fall.

Angle is a little more careful this time. He starts working on the ankle, but Daniels tries to avoid more attacks on it. The two fight on for a while. Angle gets a german suplex on Daniels. He goes for the Angle slam again but Daniels flips backwards during the start of the move and hits Angle with Angel's Wings! He gets the close 2. He picks Angle up for a powerbomb, which Angle reverses into a sunset flip pin. 1-2...Daniels reverses it into his own pin and holds on for another 3 count! Angles is on his knees shaking his head. It's 2-0 to Daniels at 14:46.

The third fall begins. Angle is like an animal attacking Daniels' ankle. He gets the ankle lock but Daniels reaches the ropes. Angle pulls him off and keeps the hold on. Daniels rolls forward which launches Angle through the ropes in front of the announce tables. Daniels catches his breath on his back, but Angle is annoyed and grabs a chair. The ref tries to stop him, but he clobbers Daniels as he gets up, giving Daniels a 3-0 lead at 19:57. Angle has ten minutes to get 3 points to just draw. Angle hits Daniels in the ankle with the chair whilst the ref has his back turned calling the DQ.

As soon as the countdown is done, Angle runs to Daniels, still out, and makes the cover. 1...2...3. 3-1 Daniels.

Once the countdown is done again, Angle goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Daniels gets a little fight back. He reverses an irish whip and lands a spinebuster. He picks Angle up and goes for a back suplex, but Angle reverses and german suplexes Daniels out of the ring. Angle slides out of the ring and they're both outside. The ref begins the count out. 1...Angle gives Daniels some right hands...2...Daniels reverses a right hand and hits one of his own...3...the two take a short breather...4...Daniels clotheslines Angle...5...Daniels goes to get in the ring but Angle pulls at his leg and throws him back down...6...Daniels goes to whip Angle in to the steal steps, but Angle reverses and whips Daniels himself into them...7...Angle thinks a bit then goes in the ring...8...9...Daniels is stirring...10. Angle is only down 3-2, but the time is now at 24:38.

Daniels gets in the ring and Angle starts stomping, the two have an even fight for a minute. Daniels went for a side slam but Angle punched him to get him to release it. The ref gets knocked down. Daniels sees the oppourtunity and grabs Angle's chair, he swings at Angle who ducks and hits the Angle Slam! He makes the cover, but the ref is still coming to. As Angle tries reviving the ref, Daniels grabs the chair again. He swings at Angle, who narrowly avoids and the ref gets a chair face first. With only 2:41 left, a new ref comes in and calls a DQ on Daniels. Angle smirks as Daniels argues with the ref. It's now 3-3.

Daniels doesn't dwell and locks with Angle for the seventh fall. Angle sweeps at Daniels' ankle and he goes to the floor. Angle starts stomping it like a rabid animal. The ref pulls Angle away from Daniels. As soon as he's up, Angle knocks his ankle and Daniels falls again. 1:00 on the clock and Angle pulls his straps down and locks in the Ankle Lock. Daniels screams but refuses to tap. He's in so much pain that he can't try reaching the ropes. He manages 30 seconds as the crowd are on their feet cheering Angles or Daniels. Angle is screaming in adrenalin, Daniels in pain. Daniels starts to slow down and stop moving. 10 seconds left. The ref holds Daniels' arm up, it drops. 7 seconds. Ref does it for the second time. It drops, 3 seconds left. The ref does it once more, and it drops at 1 second left. The ref calls the KO and Angle wins 4-3! He drops to his knees like he's just won the title as the crowd cheer and boo. His music blares and Angle is announced winner.

After a sponsor advertisement, Lillian Garcia is in the ring to explain the rules of the next match.

Lillian: "The following contest is the Chavo Guerrero Mexican Invitational Fiesta and is for the United States Championship. The rules are as follows: This match is a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match. Three eligible men, and the champion, will start. If you are pinned or submit, you will be eliminated from the match. The winner is the wrestler who eliminates the final man.

Mexican Invitational for the US Title

Chavo Guerrero © defending against

Chavo makes his way down to the ring and does his finger rubbing routine.

La Parka

A man dressed in a skeleton suit comes out. He gets a few cheers from those who recall him from WCW. Chavo senses the Latino Heat with a smile.

Juventud Guerrera

Juventud makes his way to the ring and shakes hands with Chavo and La Parka. There is a little history i this ring.

"ooooo Chavo"

Chavo looks very confused at his own intro music being played. Until he sees the figure coming down the ramp:

and Chavo Guerrero Sr.

Chavo Jr. looks ecstatic as Chavo Sr. makes his way to the ring with a big pop from the crowd once his name is announced. He's come back, presumably just for tonight, and challenging for his son's belt. He gives him a hug and says something in his ear, then shakes the other two competents hands.

The match begins. La Parka gets it started going for Chavo Jr, as Juventud and Chavo Sr. face off. The crowd enjoy the wrestling put on offer and cheer plenty. La Parka takes Chavo down then goes for Juventud, who is about to do an ariel move from the turnbuckle on Chavo Sr. He jumps for La Parka instead. But Parka blocks the diving hurricanrana attempt with a sit-out powerbomb. He gets the 1-2-3 and Juventud is eliminated. Chavo Sr. goes for La Parka and they grapple a bit. Chavo Sr. lifts La Parka up for a flapjack, Chavo gets on a turnbuckle and gives La Parka a flipping neckbreaker! Big impact in the ring, Chavo Sr. gets the 3 count.

Now it's Chavo Jr. and Chavo Sr. in the ring together. Chavo Sr. takes it to his son, but he hits back with a side suplex. Chavo Jr. gets Sr. on the turnbuckle and hits the superplex. He then goes on top again, points to the sky and Guerrero Frog Splashes Guerrero. Chavo Jr. gets the 3 count and retains. He celebrates and hugs his dad as they leave the ring together.

Paul Heyman gives a pep talk to AJ Styles, saying he must win tonight. It's the biggest event of them all. Heyman says they must get revenge on Jerry for how he attacked him.

Victoria © V Mickie James

No Torrie in this equation. It's a hard-hitting fight, Mickie getting the better of Victoria. All of a sudden, Trish Stratus comes running down to the ring and goes to clothesline Mickie, she ducks and Victoria gets the brunt of the force. Mickie mule kicks Trish out of the ring, then hits the Mick Kick on Victoria, she gets the 3 count and is the new Women's champion! She leaves the ring quickly and Victoria is furious. She grabs Trish outside and whips her into the steel steps. She stomps on her a bit then leaves.

A video of the feud between AJ and Jerry Lynn is shown.

Lillian: "The following match up is a hardcore match and is for the Intercontinental title!"

Hardcore Intercontinental Title Match

AJ Styles © V Jerry Lynn

Jerry comes out with a bunch of weapons, he must've managed to make the match a harcore one, it was originally a regular singles match. AJ comes out next, ready. The two fight, Jerry missing with the trashcan lid, but conecting the second time. The match goes on, AJ and Jerry both using weapons quite a bit. The crowd chant "we want tables". Jerry hits a tornado DDT onto a chair on AJ, goes for the 3, but only gets 2. Jerry gets a table and sets it up outside the ring, but AJ is up and he flips himself over the ropes landing on Jerry. AJ grabs a 2x4 and assaults Jerry with it, with the final whack hitting Lynn across the face. AJ pulls Jerry onto the table and climbs the turnbuckle. He goes for Styles Clash and connects! But both AJ and Lynn are out now. They both start stirring a little, AJ more so. Heyman comes running down and he picks up the 2x4. AJ picks Lynn up and holds him still so Heyman can hit him with the weapon, right on the skull! AJ crawls over Lynn and makes the cover. 1-2-3. AJ retains and Heyman raises AJ's arm and the 2x4 in victory.

A video of the feud between Triple H and John Cena, then K-Kwik is shown.

K-Kwik V Triple H

Triple H comes down to the ring accompanied by X-Pac and Justin Credible. He gets quite a few cheers. K-Kwik gets the match started quickly with some kicks. Triple H soon gains control though. K-Kwik is taught a lesson in wrestling as The Game goes to school on him. Eventually, Triple H wins with the Pedigree, X-Pac and Credible didn't even need to get involved. They come in to celebrate with Triple H. X-Pac X-Factors K-Kwik as he's getting up.

We see Rey Mysterio doing some stretches.

A video of the feud between Edge and Christian is shown.

TLC Match

Christian V Edge

Both masters of the TLC match as a tag team, now they face each other in one. Christian uses a few steps up the ladder to do some ariel moves on Edge. But a flying clothesline gets a chair in the face. Edge sets up a table on each corner of the ring. Edge starts controlling Christian. He goes for the Edgecution, but it's reversed into Christian's own Edgecution. Christian picks up Edge and tries for the Unprettier, but it gets reversed into a neckbreaker. Edge gets the ladder and waits for Christian to get up...when he does, Edge runs and slams the ladder into Christian. He picks him up and leans him on a table leaning on one of the turnbuckles. He takes the ladder and goes to the other corner. He smack talks the crowd and charges it top first towards Christian, but he just gets out of the way and the table is decimated. Christian levels Edge with a chair and starts getting the control back. Edge is getting up in front of the other table on the turnbuckle. Christian gets an idea and starts climbing most of the way up the ladder he just set up. Once Edge is up, Christian DIVING SPEARS Edge through the table at the turnbuckle. A "holy shit" chant begins. Christian flops his hand over and the crowd count to 3 with the ref. Christian wins!

The ring is cleared for the main event.

In his locker room, Jericho looks at his title, takes it and goes to his match. The shot changes to Rey walking up to where he'll make his entrance, flexing his arms and hands.

A video of the feud between Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho is shown.

"No chance" Vince McMahon's music plays as the bell rings and the match announcement is made.

Lillian: "The following match-up is a Special Guest Referee match..."

Vince McMahon comes down the ramp in ref's colours with his usual cocky walk.

WWE Heavyweight Title Match

Chris Jericho © V Rey Mysterio (Guest Referee: Vince McMahon)

Jericho comes out, followed by an unhappy Rey Mysterio. The match begins. Jericho does some suplexes and Rey uses his legs for offense. Vince seems to be calling the fight down the middle. A good 20 minutes of wrestling follows, neither man really getting the advantage over the other. Rey hits a flying spinning heel kick on Jericho, goes for the pin but only gets 2. Rey Mysterio gets on the offence and gets Jericho set up for the 619. He runs and hits it! He gets ready for the West Coast Pop and jumps but Jericho manages to grab Rey and slams him down. Still holding onto the legs, Y2J turns him around for the Walls of Jericho. Rey holds on for a long time and doesn't tap. Y2J gets frustrated. He picks Rey up and chops him into the turnbuckle. He gets him up the turnbuckle and manages a frankensteiner. Jericho makes the cover and STILL only gets a 2. Vince stands up and shakes his head at Jericho. Mr. McMahon then gets out of the ring and takes a chair. He slides it to Y2J and orders him to use it on Rey. Rey gets up, Y2J swings but Rey trips him. Jericho nips up and clotheslines Rey. Jericho puts the chair in the middle of the ring, picks up Rey and scoop slams him onto the chair. He suddenly runs towards the ropes and performs the Lionsault, landing on Rey on the chair. Jericho covers and Vince counts to 3. Jericho celebrates retaining his title at WretleMania and the show ends.

Number One Contender?

March 20, 2006

A video recapping what happened at the main event of WrestleMania 22, where Vince eventually helped Chris Jericho retain his title, was shown before RAW's intro started.

The countdown to Y2J begins as he, accompanied by Vince McMahon, makes his way to the ring, still with his WWE Title. Vince takes a mic as the crowd boos the champion.

The crowd start chanting "619".

Vince tries to speak but the crowd keep booing and chanting. He just waits patiently until it dies down a little.

Vince: "...Have you people no respect for your WWE Champion?!"

The crowd boo louder.

Vince: "Chris Jericho, YOUR WWE Champion, won the main event of main events at WrestleMania, defeating the challenger, and this is the respect you give him??...The man who won, with no help at all?...Well what are you going to do about it? Nothing! Because whether you like it or not, Chris Jericho is standing here as your champion, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it!"

Jericho motions that he wants the mic, Vince gives it to him.

Jericho: "First off, let me welcome you all to RAW IS JERICHOOOO!"

The crowd continue their booing.

Jericho: "Now it seems to me, that none of you here, are Jerichoholics...But hey, that's all fine and dandy, because I no longer need any fan apppreciation to know what I've accomplished. When I became the first EVER WWE Undisputed champion, what were you all doing?...You were all doing what you're doing now, and what you did when I won at No Way Out, booing me. Is this the thanks I get, for rising to the top? For being the best there is?? Because quite frankly, I've beaten all that has been thrown at me. If anyone is going to beat me, they have to get their little friends to help them out. No man can dare face me man to man and take this title from me! I am Y2J!! I AM..."

Kurt Angle's intro starts and the crowd go wild as he appears (if Michael Cole were commentating, this is the bit where he'd say "Oh my!").

Kurt, fixated on Jericho, enters the ring.

Vince: "Kurt Angle!...If I do recall correctly, you lost at No Way Out, and seeing as there was no rematch clause, I don't know why you think you should be out here. Tell me Kurt, what do you think gives you the right to be number one contender all of a sudden?..."

Kurt points Vince's mic to his mouth.

Kurt: "Because I have the balls"

The crowd cheer a little as Kurt gives a knowing look to Vince. Vince smiles a little.

Vince: "Oh...Oh Kurt, so you have balls do you? Well if they were big enough, you wouldn't have lost the first time round. But you know what, I don't think I should give you a title shot. I mean, there are plenty of other..."

The lights and mic go out, there seems to have been a power cut! There's nothing but the crowd noise and complete blackness for about 10 seconds until...

*BONG*

The crowd go wild again, still in darkness.

*BONG*

The crowd start chanting "Un-der-ta-ker".

*BONG*. The lights go back up and Undertaker is standing right behind Jericho. Jericho can feel his presence. He turns around slowly and jumps away as he sees 'Taker. Angle isn't so phazed whilst Vince thinks of what to do now.

"Hold on hold on dammit!! Alright, you two wanna prove yourselves? We'll have a match, tonight: Kurt Angle against The Undertaker. If you impress me and prove you're worthy, then you'll get your damn title shot!"

Jericho is already outside the ring as The Undertaker's music plays. Taker slowly turns his head towards Angle and glares him down, then leaves the ring as well.

Birchall and Regal V WWE Tag Team champions The Mexicools (non-title match)

Regal and Birchall try working on the Mexicools' legs to stop their speed. But after a big swinging neckbreaker from the turnbuckle, Super Crazy gets the Moonsault and wins. Regal hits Super Crazy with the brass knuckles as he celebrates to knock him out, and Birchall and Regal double team on Psychosis after the match.

Bryan Warmann V Simon Dean

A debut for a man who seems to think he is some sort of Thunder God, Warmann impresses against Simon Dean. Dean fights back a little, but the power of the Warmann is too much. He finishes Dean with the War-Driver to win.

Vince McMahon is at his desk doing some paperwork when he gets a knock on the door. Expecting Jericho, Vince says "Come in", but an oridnary staff member enters "This just came for you Mr. McMahon". He gives Vince a letter, and leaves.

Vince (reading): "'From the Board of Directors?...Due to the firing of Mr. Long...chosen a candidate ourselves due to recent lack of foresight on your part??' Dammit! How dare they!"

Jericho comes in.

Jericho: "What's wrong, Mac?"

Vince: "A new GM?? We have a new GM!"

Jericho: "Er...that's good?"

Vince: "No! The Board of Directors chose a GM "for" me! How dare they!"

Jericho: "Who is it?"

Vince: "I don't know! They've gone behind my back and appointed a new GM and not told me who. Have you seen anyone new here?"

Jericho: "No, just the usual"

Vince: "They're trying to put me on a leash! That's what they're doing!"

Vince sits there thinking.

Ashley V Victoria

Victoria's fighting Trish's acquaintance here, due to her interference last night inadvertently costing Victoria her title. They both have an even match-up, but Victoria gives a vicious kick to Ashley's gut and gives her the Widow's Peak to win.

CM Punk V Jerry Lynn

The loser from his Intercontinental WrestleMania match decides to give new kid CM Punk a try. The two have an entertaining match, CM Punk showing more of what he can do in the ring, but Jerry Lynn takes advantage of a mistake, CM going on top and missing, and gets the TKO and the 3 count.

Samoa Joe walks down the ramp, gets in the ring and locks the Kokina Clutch on CM Punk before referees get him off.

Trish and Ashley are seated in the lcoker room talking to each other.

Trish: "It's all going wrong, I can't seem to get anything right. That...UGH Mickie James!"

Ashley: "Hey don't worry Trish, you'll be back on top in no time"

Trish: "Well...to be honest with you Ashley...I don't think, after your match you're really one to talk"

Ashley: "What's gotten into you lately Trish? Y'know, I know I've said Mickie was a freak and obsessed with you, but it looks like...maybe it's the other way round? Whatever, look I'm going."

Ashley walks off.

Trish: "I'm not obsessed!"

Trish tuts and goes to her wardrobe, she opens it to a BANG! and smoke comes pouring out. The whole room becomes filled with smoke and red starts glowing in the room. Trish begins coughing.

Trish: "HELP!"

Suddenly a faint voice can be heard.

???: "One misty...moisty...morning...When cloudy was the weather...There...I met an old man"

Trish: "Hello??"

The smoke starts clearing.

???: "...All clothed in...leather..."

Trish turns around and there's:

The Boogeyman: "I'M THE BOOGEYMAN, AND I'M COMING, TA GETCHA!!" *smashes a clock over his head*

Trish screams and scrambles for the door, she finds it and runs off screaming, the camera goes back to The Boogeyman as he holds up the broken clock and contnues.

The Boogeyman: "All clothed in leather...With a cap under his chin...'How do you do?'...'And how do you do?'...'And how do you do...again?'"

The Boogeyman cackles. He eats some worms and glares at the camera with his bulging eyes.

K-Kwik V Randy Orton

K-Kwik surprises Randy with his ability and has control for most of the match, Randy manages to tip it back into his favour by dropping Kwik's neck on the ropes, making him fall to the outside. Randy goes for the RKO but Kwik slams him down. Kwik goes for the Lie Detector, Randy reverses it and hits the RKO with lightning speed, getting the win. As Randy leaves the ring, X-Pac and Credible enter with chairs. As K-Kwik gets up, they both hit him on the head and back with the chairs. Credible whips Kwik hard into the turnbuckle, he drops and sits propped against the corner. X-Pac sticks his tongue out and starts the "Suck it" pose, then Bronco Busters Kwik.

Kurt Angle V The Undertaker

Angle uses the same intensity he had when he fought back from 3-0 down against Daniels, but Undertaker doesn't give up. He hits Angle with a big boot, but Angle won't give up either. Both have a tiring fight until Angle attempts the Angle slam, but Undertaker doesn't let himself get lifted off the ground and elbows Kurt. With Kurt dazed, Undertaker lifts him up but Angle slides out of the Tombstone Piledriver. Triple H comes out of nowhere and hits Kurt with the chair, which knocks him down. Undertaker turns round and gets a chair shot, but Taker bounces off the rope, still standing. Triple H Pedigrees him to keep him down. The match ends to a no-contest (double DQ)

Vince McMahon comes out.

He gets in the ring with mic in hand as Triple H stands above the fallen men.

Vince: "Well it looks like someone did prove themselves today, but it certainly wasn't you two. So without further ado, here is your number one contender. Triple H!"

Triple H poses with his arms raised and shouts at the crowd booing him.

"WOO!"

Ric Flair's intro starts and he comes out, but stays on the ramp.

Vince looks a little bemused.

Vince: "What's this? YOU want to challenge for the title too? You think you can beat The Game can ya?"

The crowd cheer and "woo!".

Flair: "No, I'm not challenging for the WWE Title. But I'll tell ya what I am here for. I've got an announcement to make..."

Vince: "Oh? Well OK, this sounds interesting, what's this big announcement?"

Flair: "...I'm retiring..."

The crowd are upset and a few calls of "Don't go!" are shouted to him

Vince: "Oh...well that's very s..."

Flair: "Because I'm the new GM of WWE!! WOO!"

The crowd cheer and woo as Vince looks shocked.

Flair: "That's right partner! I've been hired to keep you in check, and I'm going to start WOO right now!...Triple H! You aren't the number one contender"

Triple H shouts angrily at Ric

Flair: "No hold on, you're not number one contender yet...Starting Smackdown, we're gonna have ourselves some Number One Contender Qualification matches! I am gonna choose a list of wrestlers who I think are ready for that title shot, then I'm gonna book 'em matches against one another, a tournament, to see who will face that man, Y2J, for that title, the WWE championship, at Backlash! WOO!"

Ric's music plays and Triple H shouts angrily at him again, Vince looks peeved and RAW ends.

The Tournament Begins

March 24, 2006

The night starts with Vince McMahon coming down to the ring to speak to the public. He says despite the new appointment of Ric Flair as General Manager of RAW and Smackdown, he'd like to remind everyone that Vince McMahon is still the boss, and the owner of WWE.

With that, despite his dislike of the booking of the tournament, he wishes the wrestlers good luck and hopes he gets "A damn good number one contender".

The Dicks V The Heart-Throbs

A so-so match, the Dicks were the better wrestlers on the day. The Heart-Throbs teamed up well, but the Brothers Dick were victorious.

Ric Flair is at his desk in his office. Sitting opposite with his feet up is Chris Jericho.

Jericho: "Sooo...no matches for Y2J today?"

Ric: "Nope, you've got the night off. Put your feet up and...well, that's what you're already doing"

Jericho: "Man, I know Vince kinda doesn't like you...But hey, if you're like this every week, perhaps I could grow to like ya. See ya around, Nature Boy."

Jericho leaves quite content. Within a few seconds there's a loud knock on the door and Shawn Michaels comes in. He stays standing, which leads to Ric having to stand up.

HBK: "Hey Ric, er...I remember you saying a few days ago that when you were setting up this Number One Contender tournament, you were going to choose guys who you thought were ready for the title shot..."

Ric: "That's right I..."

HBK: "So you don't think I'm ready for a title shot? What you think I haven't proved myself? You think I'm too old is that it?"

Ric: "Hey hey. Shawn, listen. First off, it's not your age. I mean, The Nature Boy isn't one to judge the Heart Break Kid on age. Second, I'm sorry if you're offended, but I just think that the time is right for these guys, and you've been...well off and on recently"

HBK: "So you don't think I'm ready? So what? I'm just going to have to sit back and watch? What are you going to do with me?"

Ric: "Y'know what? How about...*starts prodding HBK in the chest as he says each word* you prove yourself(!!)...to be a champion. And hey, no time like the present, tonight you can fight Finlay...and if you beat him, you'll be on your way to making yourself the best in the business again. How about that??"

HBK: "Alright, that's a plan. Tonight, I'm going to beat Finlay, and I'm going to beat every guy you throw at me and I'll...be Number One!"

Ric: "Oh that's awesome! That's awesome. That. Is...WOO...Awesome. Go get ready for your match"

HBK leaves hyped and Ric sits back down relaxed.

Cruiserweight Title match

Champion Matt Hardy V Nunzio

They both have a good match, Nunzio may not be the biggest of men, but he takes it to Matt Hardy. Nunzio hits a big tornado DDT, and so nearly gets the 3. Nunzio has control and twice more comes close to winning that title. Nunzio bounces himself off the ropes to hit a clothesline but Hardy ducks, Nunzio turns around to get a kick in the stomach and a quick Twist of Fate. Matt covers and gets the 1-2-3.

Alicia Webb V Trish Stratus

After their entrances, the match starts with Trish having complete control. Alicia gets a good fight back, but Trish is the better wrestler.

"I'M THE BOOGEYMAN, AND I'M COMING TO GET YOOOU"

The arena goes red and steam flows around making the view foggy. Trish and Alicia have stopped wrestling and they both look around for The Boogeyman. His figure starts appearing from under the ring, standing up outside behind Trish! She's still looking around. Alicia runs out of the ring screaming. The Boogeyman starts carressing Trish's leg and she freezes. He starts licking it with his tongue, stroking her leg with his hands. Trish is in shock and blindly kicks out behind her. The Boogeyman gets kicked back a little and Trish runs for her life!

The Boogeyman slides back under the ring where he came from, licking his lips.

The match of course ends in a no-contest.

Tajiri is interviewed about his Number One Contender Tournament: First Round match against Chris Masters tonight. Stacy Keibler speaks for him, but just says some sultry things to get the crowd going, as well as saying that Tajiri will win of course.

Shawn Michaels V Finlay

HBK underestimates Finlay at first, he is too cocky and Finay hits some hard moves. HBK gets a comeback and the crowd rally behind him. Finlay low blows when the referee isn't looking, but HBK manages to hit Sweet Chin Music to get the win. He slides out of the ring before Finlay can do anything about it.

The outside of a locker room, with the door reading 'Alicia Webb' is shown. Alicia comes out with her stuff ready to leave for the next show. She looks down, there's something on the floor. She picks up some flowers and a little note.

"'From The Sandman'?"

The ECW fans in the crowd cheer.

"First The Boogeyman, now The Sandman?? Who the hell is The Sandman?"

She sniffs the flowers, then leaves with them. The camera zooms in on the big black writing on the note left behind reading 'From The Sandman x'.

Connecting nicely, the shot changes to somewhere else backstage with Rob Van Dam walking to somewhere. He literally bumps into Chris Jericho.

RVD: "Hey. Dude. Watch where you're going man."

Jericho: "Excuse me? Look at this (Jericho points the title he's holding on his shoulder to Rob). This means I'm the WWE Champion, and that I'm better than you. So you should be making way for me."

RVD: "...Sorry, big guy. But I think you're a little confused. You may hold the WWE title, and you may the Ayatollah or Rock 'n' Rolla...but do you know who I am? I'm ROB VAN DAM" (the crowd chant in time with him as RVD does his usual thumb pointing).

Jericho laughs a little.

Jericho: "Oh you're Rob Van Dam are you? WELL I'M Y. 2. J!"

The camera pans to the side where both men's attention have been directed. Mick Foley is standing there with a damn confused look on his face.

Mick Foley: "Er, guys? I've been listening to you two and, to be honest, my brain is hurting. You guys have way too many names!!"

Jericho gives him a "What the heck?" look and simply says:

Jericho: "Mankind..."

Rob Van Dam follows:

RVD: "Cactus Jack"

Jericho: "Dude Love"

RVD: "AND Mick Foley"

Foley tries to counter...but he just hangs his head and walks off.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Chris Masters V Tajiri

Tajiri has lightning speed as he goes on the offense, Masters tries countering most but the kicks are getting to him. He finally manages to take Tajiri down and starts doing some submission manouvers on his legs. After what must be two minutes of leg holds, Tajiri is slower and weakened. Masters gets the momentum back, then manages to lock in the Master Lock and Tajiri taps after a valiant effort to try and make it out of the hold.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Kurt Angle V Triple H

Angle doesn't let up on Triple H, the same goes for The Game though. Kurt wanting revenge for RAW and Triple H wanting to get that title shot. After a tiring quarter of an hour, the ref gets knocked down from a flailing Triple H arm, as Angle hit the Angle Slam. he screams and takes his shoulder straps down and locks in the Ankle Lock. Triple H holds on, but taps out. The ref is still down. After a while, Angle lets go and tries reviving the ref. Justin Credible comes running to the ring with a chair, he swings at Kurt who sees it coming from way off and ducks, hitting a german suplex on Credible! Kurt grabs the chair and wallops Triple H and then Credible! X-Pac appears from nowhere and jumps legs first at Angle, who turns around and has the chair kicked hard into his face.

X-Pac drags The Game over Angle as the ref revives. The ref makes the count...1.......2.....Kurt Angle kicks out! Both men slowly get up, Triple H suddenly see the oppourtunity and hits the Pedigree! He slowly covers Kurt and the ref counts again...1.....2.....3...Triple H advances to the next round. X-Pac and Justin get back in the ring and congratulate Triple H. He climbs onto a turnbuckle and poses whilst his two associates applaud, but they think the crowd are cheering for him. They're actually cheering Angle, who has just got up and managed to get hold of the chair! Credible sees it first but gets a faceful of steel. X-Pac hearing the disturbance, quickly gets the same. Triple H still doesn't realize. Angle drops the chair and watches the Game still posing on the turnbuckle. He suddently darts up the turnbuckle, grabs him and Angle Slams him off the turnbuckle TO THE OUTSIDE!

The crowd go wild as the intro music changes to Angle's. He got a small measure of revenge, but as he slowly goes back up the ramp, he knows he'll have to wait even longer for that title shot he wants.

Results:

The Dicks def. The Heart-Throbs

Wanted Game

March 27, 2006

Eugene V Ken Kennedy

Kennedy doesn't want to lose to someone like Eugene, and utilizes his wrestling manouvers on him. Eugene makes a fight back and suddenly gets the Rock Bottom to beat Kennedy.

Kurt Angle bursts into Ric Flair's office. He's irate and asks Flair for a rematch against Triple H. Flair says he can't do that, but he can put him in a match with X-Pac tonight. Due to Justin Credible actually being X-Pac's manager, Kurt will have to make do with fighting just X-Pac rather than Credible as well. Angle takes the oppourtunity.

Gregory Helms V La Parka

La Parka gets cheered by the crowd as he makes his entrance with a chair, playing it like a guitar on the turnbuckle. Gregory Helms doesn't take any crap, but La Parka gets the better of Helms, throwing in an in-ring antic here and there.

La Parka lands an impressive Sky Twister Press to get his first win.

Trish comes into Ric's office next. She asks for some help with The Boogeyman, who she says is stalking her. Ric says he'll kill two birds with one stone. He says she'll get a bodyguard, Shawn Michaels, because she'll be in a tag team match: Shawn Michaels and Trish Stratus V CM Punk and Victoria.

Funaki V Scotty 2 Hotty

Two "minor" fan favourites face off. Funaki hits some impressive moves, Scotty shows some too. Near the end, Scotty misses a missile dropkick and Funaki hits the Rising Sun on his groggy opponent to get the 3 count.

Shawn Michaels and Trish Stratus V CM Punk and Victoria

Trish charges at Victoria thanks to the bad blood between the two. Victoria fights back with some hard slams. Trish tags to HBK, Victoria tags to CM Punk. HBK takes it to the little Punk, but he underestimates him. CM makes a little comeback, but Michaels powerslams CM. HBK warms up the band and hits Sweet Chin Music to win.

No sign of The Boogeyman. HBK poses a little, celebrating another win. Trish waits to leave with him, not taking her chances alone.

Like on Smackdown, the camera shows the locker room of Alicia Webb. The cam pans out and a man leaning against the wall with a cigarette in his mouth and a beer in one hand. He looks at his beer ready to take a swig when Alicia comes out and bumps into him.

Alicia: "Uh, who are you?"

He does a sort of Orton pose and says "The Sandman, nice to meet ya".

Alicia: "You sent me those flowers? Well...I did think that was pretty sweet...well, weird, but er...I don't know what to think now".

She says, looking at Sandman.

Alicia: "I'm guessing you're trying to convince me to be your manager, right? Well...you're a little out of shape"

Sandman checks, he does have a slight beer gut.

Alicia: "And that name's gotta change. What kind of name is 'The Sandman'? We already have a Boogeyman"

Sandman: "Oh, you're one to talk Miss. 'Webb'. Hey, even Ryan wasn't that bad. Why the name change huh?"

Alicia tuts and ignores the question.

Alicia: "I don't think I'm going to manage you anyway...you're not what I'm looking for"

Sandman: "Hey, I'm not wrestling here" Sandman takes a blow of his cigarette. "I thought I'd try my hand at the management thing myself"

Alicia laughs.

Sandman: "What??"

Alicia: "You're old, you're hardly charming, and you stink! How much do you smoke??"

The Sandman takes a big drink of his beer, then crushes it on his forhead with his hand. Alicia looks just a little impressed.

Sandman: "So...fancy goin' on a date?"

Alicia: "Ugh, I bet you're old enough to be my dad..."

Alicia walks off and Sandman 'watches her leave'. He shakes his head and gets another beer out from his pocket.

Kurt Angle V X-Pac

Justin Credible accompanies X-Pac to the ring. Angle immediately takes the fight to him, X-Pac doesn't have a clue what to do. It ends up with Credible having to try his best to distract Angle as much as he can, or trying cheap shots whenever Kurt's thrown out of the ring. Angle gets thrown out of the ring yet another time for Credible, but Angle starts launching right hands on Credible. The ref starts trying to seperate the two and count the outside 10 count. K-Kwik suddenly slides into the ring, X-Pac nor the ref see him! Kwik superkicks X-Pac in the face. Angle sees it all and gets back in the ring. He locks the Ankle Lock on X-Pac who quickly taps and the ref calls for the bell, Angle refuses to let go. Credible gets in and breaks it, but Kwik goes flying into Justin and unleashes right hands. Angle and Kwik double team and throw Justin out of the ring. Kwik gets the Lie Detector on X-Pac. Angle and Kwik give a few glances to the ramp, maybe hoping Triple H will come down. But he doesn't.

Shawn Michaels is interviewed by Krystal. He builds himself up and says how it'll soon be time when he's wearing the gold again. Krystal asks him on a side note, who he wats to win the Number One Contender Tournament. He says he actually hopes Triple H wins, and then beats Y2J, just so when he gets that title, it'll be even sweeter.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Christian V Kane

Christian impresses against the monster that is Kane, but Kane is just too strong for him, after a late comeback and even nearly hitting the Unprettier, Christian loses by pinfall after a Kane Chokeslam.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Rey Mysterio V JBL

Rey Mysterio can get his chance at a rematch if he beats the self-proclaimed "Wrestling God". Rey uses his speed to outsmart JBL at first, but JBL hits some big powerbombs to really take the wind out of Rey. He makes use of the turnbuckles, whipping Rey from one end to the other. The last whip he follows with a big clothesline into the corner. Rey collapses. JBL picks him up, and Rey suddenly twists and gets a headscissors takedown. Rey beckons JBL to get back up and dropkicks his back, making him fall into the ropes. Rey runs but JBL ducks the 619, but as he gets up, Rey has made a full revolution and hits the 619! JBL staggers backward as Rey goes for the West Coast Pop. JBL bounces backwards against the ropes as Rey jumps, and connects with the Clothesline from Hell in mid-air! JBL covers: 1-2-3! JBL wins and Rey is knocked out in the first round, JBL advances!

JBL celebrates as the crowd boo the result and the show ends.

Ric Flair In Hospital, Batista Leaving?

3/31/06

As previously reported Ric Flair injured himself in a hotel, falling down the stairs, two day ago and was immediately sent to hospital.

Despite the initial worry, it was today said that Flair "just missed death" with a broken neck. He's going to be out of the WWE for around a year.

Ric Flair had only retired from wrestling a few months ago, if he had still been wrestling, this would've likely forced him to retire anyway.

This isn't good news for WWE, who had given Flair an on-screen GM position only two weeks ago, possibly creating a feud with Vince McMahon at the same time.

IPB Image

Despite his long title run on Smackdown before the brand unification, Batista hasn't figured in the new WWE's plans. He's currently talking with them over whether he should even stay.

Batista, real name Dave Bautista, is currently in a number one contender's tournament for the WWE Heavyweight Title. How he progresses in that tournament is sure to give a clue as to whether he is indeed leaving very soon.

A new GM!

March 31, 2006

Most already know of the injury recently appointed GM Ric Flair sustained, and Vince McMahon comes out to address the situation.

Vince: "...If some of you don't already know, Ric Flair got himself badly injured a few days ago. Now, it's not a very, very bad injury, but you won't be seeing him again until 2007...Now...just for the record...we've had our run-ins in the past, but it's still unfortunate how this could happen, and so soon after getting a new job. But with Ric away for the rest of the year, I, not he board, have found a new, temporary GM. This man has all the credentials, hell he once owned a wrestling company, and he's learnt all he has by one of...no, the best. So I'd like you all to give him a good welcome as your temporary GM for the year!

"Here comes the moneyyy"

Shane McMahon comes out dancing and swinging his arm, and the crowd are happy to see him. He gets in the ring.

Shane: "I know I can do the job, like you said, I've learnt all I have from the best. I accept the offer of temporary GM of WWE."

Shane goes to shake Vince's hand to confirm the deal, but they're interrupted by Stephanie McMahon's intro!

Stephanie comes into the ring to a few boos, with a less than pleased look on her face. Vince is interested to hear what Steph has to say.

Stephanie: "Excuse me? Dad, are you forgetting my credentials?"

She looks angrily at Vince with a raised eyebrow. The crowd are booing more, which gets Steph's attention.

Stephanie: "SHUT UP!!"

The crowd laugh and boo as Vince looks a little impressed.

Stephanie: "Shane, nothing against you, but I also owned a wrestling company and learnt from...the best. But I also ran Smackdown, this very show, for this very company, and I don't recall Shane running anything but a company that got put...out of...business.."

As soon as Steph mentioned the company she "owned" (ECW), the crowd were starting a loud chant of "E-C-DUB". Stephanie nods and shows Vince what the crowd think of her company.

Vince looks at Shane, then looks at Steph.

Vince: "Steph, you're right. But...let's look at it in a little more detail...You owned a company, ECW...by turning your back on me. Shane owned WCW, with shrewdness and tactical nous. He pulled it out from right under my nose! You ran Smackdown...until I fired you! Dammit Steph, it's Shane's turn now. And you're going to have to deal with that!"

Vince extends his hand and Shane hesitates, then shakes. Steph looks pissed. She just screams and storms off out of the ring. After a few seconds, Shane follows her but Steph pushes him away. Vince just watches.

Vince: "So, as I was saying, your new General Manager of WWE: Shane McMahon!"

Shane's music plays again and Vince leaves the ring.

La Resistance (Conway and Dupree) V The Heart-Throbs

The Heart-Throbs pulled off a shock victory over two of La Resistance when Conway and Dupree messed up a double team, which was duly reversed by Antonio, who pinned legal man Dupree as Romeo removed Conway from the ring.

Kurt Angle is seen entering the arena. He's calling out for Triple H, saying he knows he's here. K-Kwik goes up to Kurt and says he's looking for Triple H as well. Angle acknowledges Kwik's dislike for The Game and his "henchmen". Kwik proposes they look for him together, Kurt agrees and they both go looking for him.

Women's champion Mickie James V Torrie Wilson w/ Victoria (non-title)

Mickie has the advantage most of the match. Victoria just watches. Mickie hits Torrie with the Mick Kick and gets the win. Victoria comes into the ring but Mickie saw it coming. She ducks a clothesline and hits Victoria with the Mick Kick as well!

Alicia Webb's locker room door is shown, it has a note sellotaped on it reading:

'Ryan,

Meet me in the ring.

The Sandman.'

Alicia walks up to it and reads it. She shakes her head but thinks about it. She opens her door and takes a step inside, but then closes it again and decides to go to the ring.

Her intro plays and she makes her way down to the ring, she gets in and waits.

And waits.

Then the lights dim and the unmistakable intro to Enter Sandman plays. The camera eventually focuses on a section of the crowd where The Sandman is making his entrance, swigging a beer with a cigarette in his mouth. He spews beer over the crowd and gets another from his pocket. He makes his way slowly through the crowd, getting a fan to open his mouth as he pours beer down it. After about 3 minutes he manages to get over the barrier to the outside of the ring. He makes his way back up the ramp and hands JR and Joey Styles beers, giving Joey a noogie as well. He staggers back down the ramp and eventually gets in the ring as the intro ends.

The crowd cheer and applaud once the music stops as Sandman raises his arms, obviously trying to impress Alicia. He gets a mic.

Sandman: "So you wanna go hang with The Sandman now?!"

The crowd cheer. Sandman hands the mic to Alicia and cracks open another beer.

Alicia: "No!"

Sandman stops swigging his alcohol.

Alicia: "Look at you! You're old, you stink of cigarettes, you're an alcoholic..."

The crowd boo.

Alicia: "You keep calling me Ryan, what if I started calling you Stone Cold Steve Austin??"

The crowd cheer as his name is said.

Alicia: "Look, I'm sorry, but I prefer a man who...clean cut...well built, y'know? All man..."

Sandman looks unimpressed by her choice of man.

"HELLO LADIES"

The crowd give a cheer as Val Venis comes out in his trademark towel and enters the ring. He goes up to Alicia and swings his hips in front of her. He takes the mic.

"Hey, I know we've got some history. I haven't seen you in a long time since our...hehheh...movie...How about we go backstage and...see more of each other?"

Alicia shakes her head at Val.

Alicia: "I want no...part...of you, Val"

Sandman goes to Val and points to the ramp, suggesting he go now. Val pushes him away. Sandman goes back up and Val punches him in the face and averts his eyes back on Alicia. Sandman gets back up and jumps on Val and they brawl. Alicia is unimpressed by the fighting and leaves as the two men are separated.

Orlando Jordan V Shelton Benjamin

Orlando impresses against Shelton. Despite Benjamin having control for most of the match, Orlando is able to take advantage of just one opening and get the Orlando Magic. He gets the win and celebrates.

Trish and Ashley are in their locker room when there's a knock on the door. Ashley answers and it's K-Kwik and Kurt Angle. They ask if she's seen Triple H, she says she did and points them to where. She closes the door and goes back to Trish.

Ashley: "So, nothing yet?"

Trish: "No, but that...whatever he is...might still be stalking me...he could be watching me right now!!...What does he want from me?..."

Ashley: "Perhaps he just...likes you?"

There's a knock on the door again, Ashley opens it but there's no-one there. She closes the door. There's a knock again and she opens it to a loud bang as The Boogeyman appears! Smoke starts bellowing into the locker room as the lights turn red and Ashley screams followed by Trish. He looks at Trish and starts singing a strange (even for him) nursery rhyme, walking slowly into the room.

Boogeyman: "Pussycat...pussycat...where have you been?" (He snaps his head to Ashley) "I've been up to London...to visit the Queen...Pussycat...pussycat...what did you dare?" (He darts his head back to Trish) "I frightened a little mouse...under her chair!..."

The Boogeyman stops and looks at his necklace then holds up the clock. Trish and Ashley shuffle slowly towards him, wondering why he's just standing there saying nothing...

Boogeyman: "MEOWW!"

He smashes the clock on his head and cackles loudly as Ashley and Trish scream their heads off, they can hardly see because of all the smoke now. Suddenly, The Boogeyman grabs Trish, hoists her over his shoulder and runs off cackling as Ashley continues to scream.

Shawn Michaels V William Regal w/ Paul Burchill

Despite Ric no longer working for now, HBK continues to have opponents to try and build on his streak, on his quest for gold. William Regal provides tough opposition, but HBK would be having the upper hand were it not for Burchill continuously grabbing HBK's leg. Regal goes for the brass knucks Power Of The Punch, but HBK ducks, he attempts Sweet Chin Music, but Regal ducks. Shawn Michaels manages a stun gun which opens Regal up for Sweet Chin Music! HBK makes the pin 1-2-3. His streak continues.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Badass V Carlito

Carlito has a good match against Badass, who isn't so bad himself. Carlito nearly gets the Carlito's Way on Badass, but he avoids it. Carlito manages a monstrous superplex, but only gets a 2 count. The ref gets knocked down after Badass whips Carlito into a corner where the ref was standing. Carlito sees the opening. When Badass is down, he grabs a chair. Badass manages to sweep his legs and he drops the chair as he falls to a loud bang.

Badass goes for a suplex, but only lifts half ways, Carlito reverses with a suplex of his own as the ref gets up. Carlito thinks quick and takes the chair. He hasn't seen the ref's turned around and whack Badass with it, right in front of the ref. He calls the DQ and Carlito is furious. He stomps around and shouts, Badass wins.

Triple H gets interviewed backstage. He says he doesn't have other people win his matches for him, despite what everyone says. He beat K-Kwik on his own at WrestleMania, he beat Kurt Angle with a Pedigree, not an interference.

Triple H suddenly looks to his right and runs out of shot. A couple of seconds later Angle and Kwik run past the camera. The cameraman follows Kwik and Angle chasing and shouting at Triple H. Once they're outside, a limo is seen screeching away and Angle and Kwik stop running. Angle shouts "Dammit!!" and they walk back into the arena.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Batista V Randy Orton

The two former Evolution members face off for a shot at the title. Batista uses his power, but Randy uses his thinking and speed. Batista hits a big spinebuster on Randy, but only gets a 2. He goes for the Batista Bomb, but Randy reverses quickly with a big DDT. Randy charges at Batista as he gets up and drives him into the turnbuckle. He walks to the other corner and clotheslines Batista against the turnbuckle. He climbs up as Batista staggers forward. Batista turns around and Randy jumps at him, he manages a tornado DDT and Batista lays flat out. Randy stalks Batista, waiting for the RKO. He jumps up to hit it, and Batista hold him in mid air! He charges him groin first into the turnbuckle.

Batista gets behind Randy and gets him back up, Randy punches him in the stomach a few times. Out of nowhere, he runs up the turnbuckle, jumps off it and RKOs Batista! He makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3!

Time for the Orton Pose as the crowd boo and Smackdown ends.

(Big) WWE Monthly News

IPB Image

01/04/06

Two big names have now left WWE. Batista, who was rumoured to be discussing such a thing, has now left the WWE. The second is Big Show, who was sent to OVW. Not happy and on too high a wage, Big Show has been released and is also no longer part of the WWE either.

Also released from OVW are Elisabeth Rouffaer, Tough Enough winner Matt Cappotelli, Titan and Shelly (a.k.a Shelly Martinez or 'Desire').

Some contracts were also renewed for the month. Simon Dean and Vito have impressed to get their contracts renewed, Nunzio has reportedly been given a shorter contract, in the same vein as The Heart-Throbs, possibly due to the WWE wanting to see if he has any more potential.

Kurt Angle also renewed his contract.

Intense Competition

April 03, 2006

As RAW starts, JR and Joey Styles let the audience at home know that the draw for the next round of the Number One Contender's Tournament will take place tonight, "in about half an hour". Giving the combatants time to prepare.

Johnny Parisi V The Bambikiller

Johnny Parisi, relatively unknown by WWE fans comes out to no real reaction. His intro ends and we hear a quote from a well known film, a woman's voice: "Bambi, quick! The thicket!" Then a gunshot. " Faster! Faster, Bambi! Don't look back! Keep running! Keep running!" Another loud gunshot. Then a man's voice "Hey little kids, I KILLED BAMBI!!". Cheesy evil music plays as The Bambikiller comes out to quite a good reaction. He seems crazed, stroking a toy plastic shotgun.

Parisi and Bambikiller start the match without hesitation, and both impress the crowd throughout, despite their practical non-existence thus far in the WWE. The crowd start getting interested, but Parisi ducks a Bambikiller clothesline and rolls up his tights to get a cheating pin! Bambikiller is insensed and grabs his toy shotgun and whacks Parisi across the head with it. As Parisi is down he laughs and pretends to shoot him, completely over-selling the recoil and falling out of the ring.

The fans get their first glimpses of The Bambikiller...

A shot of new GM Shane McMahon is shown, presumably in his office, but it's filled with smoke.

Shane: "That's what I'm talking about, if you're going to do that, you may as well not be here."

The camera zooms out and pans so we get a shot of Shane at his desk and The Sandman with a beer and a smoke in his hand, with an ashtray filled with cigarettes on the desk.

Shane: "You take about FIVE MINUTES making an entrance, then you attack a wrestler, you're supposed to be a manager! Put that out!"

Sandman looks at him.

Shane: "Put it out...now..."

Sandman puts the cigarette out.

Shane: "So what? Do you want to be a manager? Or, do you want to be a wrestler? Or are you just here wasting time?"

Sandman: "Heyyy...you know what...Who is this? Val Venis?" Sandman scoffs drunkenly "I just think he should be a liiittle more...respectful to the ladies. He thinks he's all THAT...but hey, kid, Shane, Mac, I'm here...to try some managing. I'm a manager...but..."

Shane: "Hey, if you've got a problem with Val, I'll put you in a match with him. Ok? On Smackdown, then you can get it over with and try and find a client...if anyone would have you. You're walking a fine line, you know that?"

Sandman: "Hey, I'm politically incorrect, and damn proud of it! But alright...I'll do that match, then *pfft*, it's done. Gone...As long as it's a hardcore match."

Sandman grins.

Shane: "Fine, I'll make it a hardcore match, as long as you clean up your act. Now get outta here."

Sandman gets up and puts his arm around Shane.

Sandman: "Thanks buddy"

He kisses him on the side of the head and walks off. Shane just waves the smoke away and coughs, making a comment about the smell.

D'Lo Brown V Trevor Murdoch

Murdoch doesn't take a liking to D'Lo, not impressed by him at all, until D'Lo hits some good moves. Murdoch tries fighting back but D'Lo doesn't let up, and hits the Lo Down to win.

Vince is shown beside a tombola. The camera pans and takes the whole room in to reveal Jericho, with his title on his shoulder, beside Vince. Standing opposite watching is Chris Masters, Chris Benoit, JBL, Edge and Randy Orton. Mick Foley is standing in front of the tombola to make the draw himself.

Vince: "All right, let's make it clear. We'll be drawing numbers out of this tombola to see who's fighting who in the quarter finals of the Number One Contender Tournament, Now you've all been assigned numbers, Commissioner Foley will be making the draw. Good luck."

Vince motions to Mick Foley to start the draw. After turning the tombola, he picks out a ball, followed by another, showing the numbers as he announces.

Foley: "Number 3 - Badass" (The crowd give a moderate cheer) "...against..Number 2, Chris Masters!" (the crowd give a moderate mix of cheers and boos, mostly booing)

Masters looks confident and Edge gives him a pat on the shoulder.

Foley: "Number 6 - Chris Benoit or Christopher Daniels" (The crowd cheer) "...versus...Number 1 - Triple H!!" (The crowd boo loudly)

Benoit rubs his hands, emotionless, as Edge says out loud "Ha! Good luck! You're gonna get jumped!"

Jericho snaps back, holding his title: "What? You don't think you can beat him, Edge?? Ya little pussy son of a bitch!"

The crowd cheer and laugh as Randy chuckles at Y2J's outburst and Edge holds his anger in.

Mick continues.

Foley: "Lucky Number 7 - Randy Orton!" (The crowd boo as Randy gives a little Orton pose) "...against...Number 4 - KANE!" (The crowd cheer and Randy's arms drop a little, not so cocky. Then he just says there's nothing to worry about, "I beat his brother twice, I can beat Kane easily")

Foley: "Which leaves Number...8 - Edge or The Undertaker" (A mix of boos and cheers respectively) "...against Number...5 - JBL" (The crowd boo).

JBL turns to Edge.

JBL: "You ain't got a chance in hell! Holla holla!" He laughs as the guys begin to leave but Ashley comes bursting in.

Vince: "What?! What the hell are you doing?? What's wrong with you?!"

Ashley: "The Boogeyman! I saw him! He might have Trish with him HERE!!"

Vince: "Here?! I won't allow for any kidnapping! Someone's going to have to go out there and challenge him!"

The wrestlers give a general "why?" each.

Vince: "Because I SAID SO DAMMIT! I need someone to lure The Boogeyman out, Trish shouldn't be too far behind hopefully..."

The heels in the room look around the floor murmuring excuses, Benoit's already left to prepare for his Tournament match tonight.

Vince: "...YOU!"

Jericho: "WHAT?!"

Vince is pointing at Jericho.

Vince: "You don't have a match tonight, and you're the WWE champ dammit! You told me you've got balls, go out there and use them!"

Jericho looks a little confused by how Vince worded that, but leaves to make his way to the ring.

Y2J makes his entrance and gets on the mic in the ring. Within a few seconds, The Boogeyman's intro plays and Jericho gets himself ready.

WWE Hevyweight champion Chris Jericho V The Boogeyman (non-title)

The Boogeyman appears crawling through the smoke, and smashes a clock over his head to big cheers. Then he pulls something from behind him, Trish is chained up by the legs, arms and by her neck like a collar, with Boogeyman pulling her towards the ring. He chains the "lead" to the turnbuckle and licks Trish's distraught face, then slides into the ring and gives a little wiggle.

Jericho charges and hits him with a dropkick, staggering The Boogeyman back and the "match" starts. The match only lasts a few seconds because Jericho quickly grabs his WWE belt he put in the corner and whacks Boogeyman over the head with it, knocking him out of the ring (and causing a DQ, if anyone noticed). He slides to Trish and tries unchaining her, but it won't unlock. He peers over to The Boogeyman, who's lying motionless on the ground. He goes to him and starts searching for keys. Suddenly, The Boogeyman lifts him up and throws him over the barrier into the crowd!

The Boogeyman sensing the setup goes to Trish and unlocks her with his key. But Y2J is up on the barrier and missile dropkicks Boogeyman down. Jericho goes to slam him into the steel steps, but Boogeyman reverses the whip and Jericho goes crashing into them instead. As Y2J staggers up, The Boogeyman hits his Pumphandle Slam on the floor! Trish was watching, but realizing she's free, starts running. As she goes halfway up the ramp, smoke comes pouring back up and the pyro from his intro explodes, blocking her way. The Boogeyman grabs a screaming Trish and disappears over the barrier through the crowd.

Shawn Michaels V M 'n' N (Mercury and Nitro)

After the chaos of the last match, things go back to normal as HBK faces his biggest challenge yet: A handicap match against M 'n' N.

M 'n' N are unable to double team HBK as much as they want, Michaels sees it coming every time. As he warms up the band for legal man Mercury, Nitro comes running in and gets Sweet Chin Music instead. Mercury gets the same treatment as well and HBK gets a relatively easy 1-2-3.

Samoa Joe is seen walking backstage when CM Punk calls him. They get face to face. Samoa asks what problem he has, CM says he doesn't need a reason, he just doesn't like Joe. Samoa tells him to take defeat like a man, CM says he is...with ruthless aggression. CM Punk says he'll see Joe later and walks off.

Kane and Badass V Randy Orton and Chris Masters

This match was just made as a prelude to the Quarter finals of the #1 Contender Tournament. Kane and Badass have teamed before and are allies, Randy and Masters have not. But that doesn't stop them teaming well, although Kane gets a good advantage over Masters, tagging to Badass. Badass has control until Randy takes advantage of a distracted ref and double teams Badass with Masters. Kane charges in the ring as the ref makes the pin count for Masters, Randy quickly RKOs Kane as Masters has his feet on the second rope!

The two celebrate, but Badass jumps them in anger, Kane gets back up and choke slams Masters from out of nowhere, followed by some pyro, as Masters rolls out the ring with help from Randy.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Chris Benoit V Christopher Daniels

Daniels faces a similar opponent to his last, Kurt Angle, but will that help him? At first he counters and attacks Benoit well, but succumbs to his multiple German suplexes and Three Amigos. He nearly hits Angel's Wings, but Benoit impressively reversed into a Crippler Crossface, forcing Daniels to tap.

Benoit celebrated until Triple H appeared out of nowhere and clobbered Benoit with the sledgehammer! He talked smack to him but suddenly ran as Kurt Angle and K-Kwik appeared, but too late to catch The Game, already escaping through the crowd.

Randy Orton gets interviewed, he says he's RKOed Kane once, he can do it again. He doesn't fear him or anyone from his "freaky family", and he'll prove it, again, in their Quarter Final match.

Number One Contender Tournament: First Round Match

Edge V The Undertaker

Before the match, JBL made an entrance and sat at the commentator's table as a guest announcer. JBL faces the winner of this bout in the next round. He says he can beat Undertaker likes he has done countless times before, and Edge is just no problem at all.

Edge tries his best to use as many sneaky tactics he can think up to keep the Deadman down. After a Taker dominated opening, Edge spears Taker through the ropes, and the count out begins. It gets up to 7, with Taker still motionless. At 8 he sits up quickly, and gets in the ring, to be stomped by Edge. Edge, SOMEHOW, kicks out of a Taker Chokeslam at 2. After a low blow to buy some time, Edge gets himself up in the corner and charges at Taker to spear him, but Taker runs at him at the same time and hits an absolutely devastating running DDT, using Edge's spear momentum to completely flatten him. Undertaker gets the 3 count and pin.

JBL, whilst commentating, seemed more worried the more Taker attacked. At the end of the match, he started running down the ramp to jump Taker as he was celebrating. But right when he slides in the ring and runs for a Clothesline From Hell from behind, the bell tolls and the arena goes pitch black.

The bell tolls again and it gets a little lighter, but blue. Taker has disappeared with JBL lying on his face, missing his Clothesline, and looking around for Taker.

The show ends as Taker's intro plays.

The Game is up

April 07, 2006

Bryan Warmann V Johnny Parisi

The "God of War" is Parisi's second strange opponent in a row. Parisi does well, until The Bambikiller comes running to the ring and gives Parisi the Bambi Death Shot! Parisi falls down and Warmann attaches the War-Lock to make Parisi tap out. Bambikiller gives a psychotic laugh and runs off again.

The Bashams V The Heart-Throbs

Some good athleticism was shown in this match, but The Basham brothers won the match by grabbing Antonio's tights after being frustrated at not being able to get a 3 count. The Heart-Throbs attacked their opponents after the match and threw them out of the ring.

Chris Benoit enters the arena for his big Quarter Final match against Triple H.

The shot changes to Triple H talking with X-Pac and Justin Credible, probably thinking up a game plan.

Hardcore match

The Sandman V Val Venis

Val Venis enters to the ring to a mixed reaction, but then The Sandman makes his long entrance through the crowd, beers and cigs in hand. Once Sandman finally gets in the ring, the match begins with a Venis clothesline. Sandman gains control and leaves the ring. He looks under the ring and starts throwing out weapons: Chairs, 2x4s, even a ladder. He gets a table out and goes to the corner of one of the ring barriers and sets up a table beside the barrier. Venis is already up and takes Sandman down with a charge from behind. He grabs a chair but gets low blown with a kick to the groin.

Sandman grabs the chair and starts whacking Venis with it, then he grabs a trash can. When Venis is up, he charges the trash can into his face, but only gets a 2 count in the following pin. After Sandman dominates, he puts Val on the table that was set up, he joins him on top of it and goes for a piledriver, but Venis reverses and holds onto Sandman's legs as he lifts him up to go for a spinebuster, but Sandman reverses into a tornado DDT off the table onto the trash can!!

He covers 1-2-but only just gets a 2. Venis manages to buy some time by tripping Sandman into the turnbuckle post outside. Venis gets momentum back and piledrives Sandman on the trash can! This only just gets a 2 count too. Venis puts Sandman on the table and climbs up the turnbuckle! He shakes his hands and jumps for The Money Shot, but Sandman rolls off and Venis goes through the table! Sandman covers and gets the 3. He grabs a beer and drinks, then crushes it onto Val Venis' head to celebrate.

CM Punk V Rob Van Dam

The two styles mix well in this match, CM Punk does well against RVD, but RVD's experience is too much. Samoa makes his way to the ring, which distracts CM Punk, allowing RVD to give him a big kick to the face. He hits the Five Star Frog Splash and wins. Samoa grabs a chair and gets in, he swings for CM as he gets up, but CM dropkicks the chair into Samoa's face! He talks smack to Joe and leaves.

Booker T gets interviewed, saying how he's all that, but D'Lo interrupts him. He says he's not all that. D'Lo works his way to the top, whilst Booker is nowhere near the top. Booker is surprised by D'Lo's accusation and they trade insults a bit before Booker T leaves.

The shot changes to Badass about to go for his Tournament match against Chris Masters, until Victoria comes in and starts unsubtlly flirting with him. Obviously it must be due to Mickie James, the Women's Champion, taking a liking to him...or is it? Badass lets her do her thing then leaves.

Number One Contender Tournament: Quarter Final Match

Badass V Chris Masters

Chris Masters gets off to a good start, but after about 3 minutes, Badass starts really dominating. Masters doesn't make a comeback and gets Chokeslammed. The pin is academic and Badass advances.

Number One Contender Tournament: Quarter Final Match

Triple H V Chris Benoit

Triple H makes sure he's dominating at the start of the match, Benoit fights back a little with his suplexes, but Triple H keeps on him. After a long slog, Triple H hits the ref, making it look inadvertent! X-Pac and Credible make their way down to the ring with chairs, but Benoit German suplexes them viciously before they attack. Triple H takes him down with a charging knee and X-Pac and Credible get back up. Suddenly, Angle and K-Kwik charge down to the ring! A 3-on-3 fight ensues, Angle and Benoit German suplex Justin Credible and X-Pac out of the ring respectively. Triple H holds his hands up as Kwik, Benoit and Angle are in the ring backing down Triple H into the corner.

John Cena's intro starts! The crowd cheer and he walks down the ramp ripping his shirt off and throwing his chains to the ground before running into the ring. Triple H backs off, X-Pac and Credible get back in. Cena FUs Triple H as the chaos breaks out again, X-Pac and Credible are eventually thrown out of the ring again. Cena points and says some thing to Kwik and Angle, then lifts Triple H back up. Angle moves to his side and Cena pushes Triple H to Kwik, who Superkicks him back to Angle, who Angle Slams him down for good measure. Benoit makes the cover and the ref counts ...1.....2.....3...The crowd cheer Benoit's win, Cena works the crowd, then looks down at Triple H and talks some smack as Smackdown ends to a big finish!

TNA On The Rise

04/08/06

With TNA getting bigger and better, continuing to get more and more fans, how long before it becomes, dare I say, Number One?

Advertising and merchandise sales are going well, as well as the state of TNA itself. TNA iMPACT is doing wonderfully. The last show got its highest TV audience yet, and growing.

So what should we expect in the future? I sat down with Jerry Lawler to find out.

Jerry, you came here only a couple of months ago, how do you see things right now compared to previous jobs?

Since I came here, I've been impressed! This is a good company, and it's getting better. All these new matches being created, the athletes, and of course the beautiful women!

When I first came here, I was a little down. My last job was one I loved, but I was told I wouldn't be needed there anymore. However, this is a great place to be, and I am enjoying it.

Do you see Total Nonstop Action wrestling leaving a stamp on the current industry?

TNA has only been around 4 years, and look where it's already at. With the money, the staff, of course the wrestlers themselves, and teamwork, you can really get a lot out of your promotion. I've dabbled in that area myself, it's tough, but we seem to be doing very well here.

Of course, there's no avoiding it, in the future, non-too distant hopefully, TNA will be coming up against WWE. You've had experience with this before, what are your views?

Although the future looks pretty rosy for now, we need to get ready. Because with the caliber of talent here, and the transitional period WWE seems to be going through, this could be the time for TNA to really push. We will be ready to shoot up into the mainstream, global public. All that's needed is some more airtime, the same creativity and excitement in TNA, and I think we're going to be in for one hell of a war.

To avoid confusion, I've decided to do pre-show recaps. This is recapping what's gone on in the near past and why everything's happening in the storylines. Kind of like your usual Preview, but I find it easier not to explain everything in the style of wwe.com, because they only recap what happened last show.

They'll be updated after the previous show at the end of the paragraphs etc. but it saves everyone from being hella confused.

Pre-Show Recap

RAW

04/10/06

WWE Title situation

After retaining his WWE Heavyweight title at WrestleMania, with help from guest referee Vince McMahon (Heel), Chris Jericho (Heel) was set to defend against Triple H (Heel) at Backlash, an opponent of Vince's choosing. But Ric Flair (Face) came out, announcing his retirement...and then announcing he is the WWE Board of Directors' hand-picked replacement as General Manager of WWE (Teddy Long (F) was fired by Vince, wildly accused of bias against Jericho). He then announced a tournament to determine the number one contender. Two tournament matches are fought out each show. The losers of the semi finals and final will fight in a Triple Threat match at Backlash to decide the 'Number Two contender', who then goes on to face the loser of the WWE Title match the following RAW.

How the tournament's going can be found in my signature.

In the last show, the Quarter Finals, Badass (F) beat Chris Masters (Heel) to advance, but the big match was Chris Benoit (F) beating Triple H.

Triple H has brought back X-Pac (Heel), along with his buddy Justin Credible (Heel), to back him up, practically bodyguards or henchmen due to K-Kwik (F) constantly jumping him. Triple H was beginning a feud with John Cena (F) until Cena was injured during a backstage Triple H assault. The Game beat Kwik with no help at WrestleMania, but Pac and Credible continued to attack K-Kwik on a show or two after the PPV.

Triple H's advanced to face Benoit by beating Kurt Angle (Tweener), with help from his cronies. Angle was left irate (he was the man who Jericho beat to become champion) and went on a manhunt, along with K-Kwik, for Triple H. It came to head in the Triple H V Benoit match, which Benoit won after X-Pac and Credible interrupted for Triple H, leading to Angle and Kwik to come out and deal with the cronies, then corner Triple H.

Then John Cena came back from injury. He FU'd Triple H, followed by a superkick from Kwik and an Angle Slam by Angle for the easy pin, meaning Benoit advanced, and Triple H was screwed out of the win, just like he screwed Angle.

Also, Ric Flair recently received a long term injury, he likely won't be appearing again this year. Vince made an immediate replacement in Shane McMahon (Tweener leaning to heel), much to the anger of his sister Stephanie (Tweener leaning to heel).

By the looks of things, Shane has his work cut out for him already.

HBK with a point to prove

Unhappy at not being in the #1 Contender's Tournament, Shawn Michaels (F) has been put in a sort of gauntlet to prove himself by Ric Flair. Nearly every show he's been fighting an opponent (or two) and has picked up the win. Despite Flair's injury, the gauntlet continues. HBK recently beating M 'n' N (Mercury and Nitro) (Heel) in a handicap match.

The Boogeyman got Trish

After WrestleMania, The Boogeyman (F) started stalking Trish Stratus (Heel). He got his hands on her in her locker room, her friend Ashley (F) helpless to do anything.

On the next show, Vince demanded Chris Jericho call The Boogeyman out, luring him into the open and hopefully Trish. The plan worked as The Boogeyman came out, with Trish tied in chain, being pulled along. She was then chained to the turnbuckle as Boogeyman and Jericho brawled, Y2J on a mission to set Trish free. Boogeyman unlocked Trish to try and escape the set up, but Y2J intervened just before he ran. Boogeyman got the better of him, captured Trish and ran through the crowd out of sight.

Booker isn't down with the Brown

Booker T (Heel) was giving an interview, saying how great he is as usual, D'Lo Brown (F) interrupted. D'Lo didn't like how Booker runs his mouth, whilst D'Lo works his ass off in the ring trying to make his way up. The two traded a few insults.

Both men have matches tonight, D'Lo challenging Chavo Guerrero (F) for his US Title and Booker T fighting Rey Mysterio (F) one on one.

The GM Situation

April 10, 2006

John Cena's intro plays loudly on the titantron, and the man comes out to some big cheers. John gets on the mic and says it's good to be back, two months is a long time. He immediately lets everyone know that The Game didn't prove anything when he took him out, just that he's a coward. He then surprises the crowd by wasting no time and saying "If you wanna prove me wrong, you come out here right now, face to face, man to man, one on one".

There's silence for a few seconds.

Then the arena goes dark as Triple H's impressive intro starts up, he walks slowly down the ramp. As he gets halfway, he charges into the ring and Cena and Triple H start throwing fists and brawling! Shane McMahon runs out and starts shouting from the top of the ramp down a mic for them to stop, but to no avail as K-Kwik comes running past him to the ring. Triple H tries holding both men off as Credible and X-Pac are next to brush past, only to be followed by Angle as a 6 man brawl looks to erupt!! Shane calls from the back as security men eventually seperate the 6 men!

Utter chaos. Shane walks to the back unhappy.

Booker T V Rey Mysterio

The action doesn't slow down, as a big match properly starts RAW. Booker has the early advantage, stomping Rey's legs to keep him from going anywhere fast, then getting him up against the turnbuckle and chopping, but Rey reverses and Booker's against the turnbuckle, receiving a few chops then kicks to the gut. Booker staggers forward just to get a flying hurricanrana. Rey keeps on Booker until he gets a senton splash reversed into a powerbomb. Booker keeps working on the legs and keeping Rey grounded. Rey makes a slight comeback, but Booker eventually gives the kick in the stomach, and unleashing a fast Scissors Kick as Rey staggers to win.

Ashley V Victoria

Good competitiveness in the early going, but as soon as Victoria starts getting the advantage, The Boogeyman makes his entrance. Smoke pouring from the ramp, smashing a clock over his head and again pulling Trish along by a chain lead. He has his eyes on Ashley, who is watching scared along with Victoria. Boogeyman chains Trish to the turnbuckle like on Smackdown and slides in the ring. He walks slowly towards Ashley, stating that "I'm The BOOGEYMAN...and I'm comin'...TA GETCHA!!".

Victoria herself is behind Boogeyman watching, possibly thinking of attacking. Ashley is backing off when Chris Jericho appears out of nowhere and floors Boogeyman with his belt! Victoria leaves the ring escaping up the ramp and Jericho tells Ashley something, who then goes to Trish trying to get the cuffs off. Jericho slides out of the ring where Boogeyman now is and slams his head on the ring barrier. Boogeyman fights back and floors Jericho.

He turns around to see Ashley managing to set Trish free, he starts stalking towards them and Jericho comes from behind with a huge chair shot. The crowd boo as he launches a barrage of chair shots to The Boogeyman. Trish is set free and she runs off with Ashley. Jericho makes his leave as well as The Boogeyman is already stirring.

Booker T bumps into D'Lo Brown and they go face to face. D'Lo compliments Booker on his win. Booker gladly accepts it, and says it shows that D'Lo should watch who he talks smack too, because he's got no chance against the 5-time, 5-time, 5-time WCW Champion!

D'Lo says Booker better watch his US Title match to see how good D'Lo Brown is.

Shawn Michaels V Jerry Lynn

The match is full of reversals, but eventually Lynn starts working on Michaels back and legs. HBK fights back with an enziguri out of nowhere. This is where HBK's comeback begins, he works on Lynn. HBK ducks a clothesline and kicks Lynn in the gut, then suplexes him. He warms up the band and hits Sweet Chin Music. He covers and gets the 3 count to continue his streak.

US Title match

Champion Chavo Guerrero V D'Lo Brown

D'Lo Brown looks to send a message with early attacks, but he goes on top too early and Chavo reverses a jumping double axe handle with a punch to the stomach. Chavo does some good slams on D'Lo, but Brown hits back with punches into the turnbuckle. He puts Chavo on top and hits a super frankensteiner! D'Lo makes the cover: 1-2-no it's only two, and D'Lo keeps on him, Chavo whips D'Lo into the ropes, D'Lo jumps up and nails a tornado DDT, followed by his patented leg drop.

Chavo staggers up but Booker is running into the ring, D'Lo turns around and ducks a flying kick, only for it to hit Chavo in the face. The ref now sees Booker in the ring and gets him out as D'Lo goes on top and hits the Lo Down, he makes the cover: 1-2-3! Booker gets in a big huff and D'Lo holds his new title high on the turnbuckle, then points at Booker and lets him know who the new champ is.

JBL is interviewed. He says he has no problem fighting The Undertaker. He had the longest title reign in Smackdown history, and he beat Undertaker a few times along the way to do it.

JBL doesn't sound totally convincing though.

Number One Contender Tournament: Quarter Final

Kane V Randy Orton

Kane looks moody as his makes his way to the ring, already with Orton inside. Orton jumps Kane as he gets in the ring and the match starts. Kane holds off Randy with big uppercuts and punches, Orton uses his speed to slip away from Kane any time the monster gets some momentum going.

After a slog, the two start trading punches, but Kane's last punch is actually a grab on Orton's throat! He lifts Orton high, and Randy gets out of the grip and falls, delivering an RKO along the way! Randy scampers over to Kane to make the cover, and gets the 3 count! Randy rolls out of the ring as Kane sits up, and poses on top of the ramp.

Number One Contender Tournament: Quarter Final

JBL V The Undertaker

JBL pumps himself up for Taker. After Taker makes his big entrance, JBL starts punching him in the ribs and backs him into the corner. He uses this tactic throughout the match, keeping Taker cornered, until he goes for a Clothesline, and gets a big boot in the face. Taker goes old school and launches a relentless attack on JBL. He cuts his throat to signal a Tombstone, but JBL charges him back into the turnbuckle. Undertaker reverses a whip into the turnbuckle, which slams JBL hard into the corner. As he staggers forward, Taker slaps his hand onto JBL's throat for the Chokeslam, but JBL kicks him with a low blow! Undertaker holds his damaged area, and JBL bounces off the ropes and hits the Clothesline from Hell! He makes the cover and gets the win!

JBL celebrates, but a little too long. Undertaker sits back up, angry. JBL backs off and slides out of the ring. Undertaker gets up and starts following, leaving the ring as well. JBL moves from a walk to a jog as Undertaker stalks towards him. JBL starts running fast to the back, Undertaker starts moving quicker to follow him and go out of sight...

"TIME to play The Game..."

Triple H, X-Pac and Justin Credible make an unexpected reappearance, going to the ring. Triple H grabs a mic as the crowd boo:

HHH: "I won't be controlled by any man..."

The crowd quieten down.

HHH: "I'm not playing any games, I AM The Game!...Now on Smackdown...I was screwed out of a win against Chris Benoit. THREE men came out and attacked me...Shane McMahon, I'm demanding a rematch! If you've got the balls to come out here and make some decisions, I've got one for you: Overturn the decision!"

The crowd boo at Triple H's audacity.

Triple H looks at Justin then X-Pac, who are now standing either side of him.

HHH: "Well, Shane's a no-show...Whatever happened to having a GM?"

The crowd start saying "WHAT!" after every pause.

HHH: "Whatever happened to the "McMahon grapefruits"?" (WHAT!) "Well let me tell you something now..." (WHAT!) "This is my world. This ring, is my playground!" (WHAT!) "And right now, X-Pac, Justin and myself run this show..."

The booing begins again.

HHH: "And no, don't you people start thinking Kurt Angle...or Kwik...or John Cena are going to come out here, they've been vacated from the building!...But see where we are? We're still here. And we're staying until I get my re-

*GLASS SHATTERS*

The crowd go insane as Stone Cold Steve Austin looks pissed, holding a chair, doing his swagger down to the ring. X-Pac and Credible get out of the ring and charge for Austin who lays Credible out with a shot to the face, and X-Pac out after with a kick to the stomach and a shot to the top of his head! Austin walks around the outside of the ring as his intro keeps playing and Triple H beckons him into the ring. Cena comes from out of nowhere and clotheslines Triple H from behind! Austin slides in the ring and hits Triple H over the head with the chair and starts stomping him until The Game is stomped out of the ring. Cena stands back and Austin takes a mic as Triple H staggers and regroups with his cronies.

Austin: "Now I've been backstage all night, having to listen to you blabber your mouth about how you're the king of the world back there, and then you come out here and start flapping yer gums about the ring being your playground and how (mocking crying) 'A bunch of men came and they beat me up and I lost my match a-waa-ahahaaaa'. Shut the hell up you're pathetic!"

The crowd cheer as Austin walks around the ring before pointing his finger and giving Triple H his attention again.

Austin: "You think you're the big man of WWE...Huh? What? You think you're the big man of WWE? What? You think you should be holding the title?...EH-EH!! Stone Cold doesn't think so! Stone Cold Steve Austin never had to hire a couple o' pipsqueaks to do his dirty work for him. No, shut up!"

Austin tells Triple H to shut up, who's talking smack whilst Stone Cold is speaking.

Austin: "I ain't afraid of nobody, so don't think you're intimidating me. You come out here, and you're asking what's with the GM? Why ain't the GM comin' out here, why ain't Shane McMahon comin' out and making your match for you? Well I'm sorry to break it to ya, but Shane McMahon ain't your stinkin' GM no more!"

The crowd cheer as Triple H looks confused.

Austin: "'Why ain't the GM comin' out here?' The GM just came out here, and he opened a can of whoopass, and that's the bottom line 'cause Stone Cold said so!"

The crowd go wild as Austin's intro plays. Triple H shouts in confusion, Cena, who's been standing watching in the ring the whole time, gives a grin and the commentators sound just as confused, but state we're going to have to find out on Smackdown to explain what the hell's going on!

X-Pac In Rehab

IPB Image

4/13/06

Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac, has suddenly been sent to rehab. The only reason given is "personal problems". This leads to yet another WWE storyline involving Triple H being shelved for the time being. A few weeks before WrestleMania 22, Triple H's planned opponent, John Cena, was injured. X-Pac is currently allied with Triple H along with Justin Credible.

Due to this sudden occurence, any storyline will have to be altered. After-effects are already being felt, Justin Credible has been sent to OVW. Credible is primarily X-Pac's manager and a stable member. But with his client out for an undetermined amount of time, he has been sent to work on the skills he already has.

The stable of Triple H, X-Pac and Justin Credible were feuding with K-Kwik, Kurt Angle and John Cena. But now the 3-on-3 has been changed to a 3-on-1. Affects to the planned Backlash card are unknown, but this will surely have more of an impact than it first seems to the untrained eye.

Triple H advanced to face Chris Benoit (F) in the Quarter Finals by beating Kurt Angle (Tweener), with help from his cronies. Angle was left irate (he was the man who Jericho beat to become champion) and went on a manhunt, along with K-Kwik, for Triple H. It came to head in the Triple H V Benoit match, which Benoit won after X-Pac and Credible interrupted for Triple H, leading to Angle and Kwik to come out and deal with the cronies, and corner Triple H.

Then John Cena came back from injury. He FU'd Triple H, followed by a superkick from Kwik and an Angle Slam by Angle for the easy pin, meaning Benoit advanced, and Triple H was screwed out of the win, just like he screwed Angle.

Now it seems there is a six man feud between Cena, Angle and K-Kwik and Triple H, X-Pac and Credible.

The GM Situation

GM Ric Flair recently received a long term injury, he likely won't be appearing again this year. Vince made an immediate replacement in Shane McMahon (Tweener leaning to heel), much to the anger of his sister Stephanie (Tweener leaning to heel).

The week after his appointment though, things got as out of hand as they did at the end of the show before, a 6 man brawl erupting between Triple H and co., Shane unable to control it until security came out.

At the end of that same RAW, Triple H, X-Pac and Credible came out again, The Game demanding Shane come out and over turn the tournament decision where he lost his match due to interference.

Shane didn't come out. Stone Cold Steve Austin (F) did though. He attacked Pac and Credible with chairs, John Cena came out and attacked The Game from behind to allow Austin to give him a chair shot. Austin then said he was tired of Triple H's moaning and said Shane isn't the GM. The GM just came out and "opened a can of whoopass".

An explanation will likely come tonight.

HBK with a point to prove

Unhappy at not being in the #1 Contender's Tournament, Shawn Michaels (F) has been put in a sort of gauntlet to prove himself by Ric Flair. Nearly every show he's been fighting an opponent (or two) and has picked up the win. Despite Flair's injury, the gauntlet continues, HBK picking up a lot of wins.

The following show, Trish's friend Ashley had a match against Victoria (Heel). It didn't last long as The Boogeyman came out with a chained up Trish and told Ashley he was coming to get her. Chris Jericho jumped him from behind and Ashley released Trish as Y2J kept The Boogeyman down with multiple chair shots.

On the next show, D'Lo defeated Chavo Guerrero (F) for his US Title, due to a botched up interference by Booker T. Booker hit Chavo by accident with a kick meant for D'Lo.

The Samoan and the Punk

These two's first match for WWE was against each other. Samoa Joe [F] won, and now CM Punk (Heel) seems to hold a grudge against him. The two have attacked and interfered with each other constantly.

Samoa has a match tonight against William Regal (Heel).

Austin V McMahon reignites

April 14, 2006

Smackdown starts to a huge cheer as glass shatters and Austin makes his way to the ring. After getting on each turnbuckle he takes a mic.

Austin: "On RAW...I came out here, and I had to clean up a mess 'GM' Shane McMahon couldn't deal with. Then I said that he isn't the GM, and that's the truth. Now Stone Cold isn't one to deal with the business side of things, so I'll keep it relatively simple. Vince McMahon, when the Nature Boy got injured, you had no right to appoint your own GM. Hell, I bet that was the plan all along, injure Ric and get your own man in the position. EH-EH! Stone Cold says that smells like a bunch of crap! And the Board of Directors didn't like it one bit. So they chose a replacement..."

The crowd cheer as Austin gets a beer thrown to him.

Austin: "So allow Stone Cold to toast the new GM of WWE: Stone Cold Steve Austin!"

Vince McMahon's music starts before Austin can open his beer, an angry looking Vince and Shane come out and get in the ring.

Vince: "Cut the music, cut the music!"

The music cuts.

Vince: "What the hell are you playing at?? You're telling me, you're the actual replacement GM?? What a bunch of crap, and I'm not buying it one bit!"

Stone Cold walks closer to Vince.

Austin: "I knew you'd say that Vince"

Austin starts playing with Vince's jacket as he speaks, kind of like a mother trying smarten her son up.

Austin: "But I know people like you like to see the paperwork, so here's the proof right here"

He takes some paper out of his pocket and hands it to Vince.

Austin: "You'll see there, in black and white, "new GM: 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin""

The crowd cheer as Vince looks over the paper, more shocked the more he reads. Vince eventually speaks again.

Vince: "Austin..."

He doesn't know what to say.

Austin: "What?"

Vince: "Steve..."

Austin: "What?"

The crowd starts saying "WHAT!" after every sentence.

Vince: "I don't care what this says! (WHAT!) This doesn't mean anything! (WHAT!) I'm still in a higher position then you! (WHAT!) So YOU'RE FIRED!!"

The crowd boo but Austin looks unmoved.

Austin: "Vince, you're too damn predictable. You come out here with a face like a smacked ass, your son behind ya following ya around, you start shouting and then 'YOU'RE FIRED!'? What? Vince, you can't fire me. I have immunity, only the Board can fire me. And that's the bottom line co-"

Vince: "NO!"

Austin blinks and looks at Vince.

Austin: "...Did you just interrupt Stone Cold Steve Austin?..."

The crowd cheer as Vince takes a gulp and Austin throws the mic away, then puts his beer down. Shane gets in front of Vince ready to fight. Austin punches Shane and the crowd go wild! He stomps at him until he falls out of the ring then turns to Vince.

Vince backs off. Austin picks up his beer and opens it. He walks towards Vince and raises his beer...then gives him a Stone Cold Stunner!! The crowd go wild again as Austin grabs the mic one more time.

Austin: "And as your new GM, Stone Cold is gonna make a match to show he means business: John Cena and Kurt Angle versus Triple H and a partner of his choosing. And Triple H, it ain't gonna be one of your boyfriends, 'cause Stone Cold just suspended them indefinitely for being a couple of jackasses! And if you don't get yourself a partner, it's gonna be a handicap match! And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold said so!"

The crowd cheer more as Austin gets on each turnbuckle, swigging beers as his intro plays.

Nunzio V Paul London

Your typical Cruiserweight match, Paul London went on top several times, including hitting a flying tornado DDT. Nunzio didn't do much battling back. He tried, but London was too good, winning with the London Calling for the 3 count.

Booker T is backstage putting his gloves on when D'Lo Brown comes up to him.

D'Lo: "Yeah, you see that? (Points at his new US Title) I didn't need your help, but thanks anyway"

Booker T: "Hey, you only won cos I..er...helped you, believe that!"

D'Lo: "Whatever you say, the fact remains I beat the guy for the US Title...who beat you for the US Title. So like I said it would, this proves I'm better than you"

Booker: "Now hang on! You didn't beat me. But if you think you can, how about you back it up. Defend that title against me! I have a match against Chavo tonight, I got the GM Stone Cold Steve Austin (the crowd cheer) to make this a number one contenders match!"

D'Lo: "...You're on, me and you at Backlash...if you win."

Booker: "Hey I'm the five time, five time, five time WCW Champion, I'm gonna win. Now can you dig that?..."

Booker begins walking off camera, but quickly turns around with his hand out:

Booker: "Sucka!"

Samoa Joe V William Regal

William Regal is weary of Joe, and uses quick holds and uppercuts to attack. Samoa counters with some great athleticism with kicks and fast clothesline and slams. CM Punk starts running down the ramp as Samoa has the Kokina Clutch locked in! Regal taps eventually, and Samoa gets up straight away and kicks CM's chair into his face! CM Punk planned a chair attack, but it backfired!

#1 Contender's match for the US Championship Title

Booker T V Chavo Guerrero

Chavo wants revenge for being screwed out of the title, he bursts out of the corner and clotheslines Booker, and gets the first few attacks. Booker fights back with chops and then a spinning kick. As the match continues, Booker keeps control with a big scoop slam and a knee drop.

D'Lo Brown walks down with his US Title. This distracts Booker, who gets lifted up for the Gory Bomb! He slides out and kicks Chavo in the stomach, then lands the Scissor Kick! He looks at D'Lo and does a spinerooni, then makes the cover: 1-2-3! The fans were hoping for a kick out, but it didn't happen. Booker is number one contender for D'Lo's US Title!

Shawn Michaels walks into Vince's office, who's just got himself together after what happened earlier tonight. Shawn tries to get on Vince's good side, then asks about his title shot. He says how he's been running this gauntlet, and he thinks he's done enough to prove himself now that he can go for the gold.

Vince agrees.

Vince: "You're right...you've beaten countless opponents...I think it's time. At Backlash you, Shawn Michaels, will be challenging for the gold!...Against AJ Styles! For The InterContinental Championship!"

HBK looks confused and tries explaining but Vince just tells him to go. HBK reluctantly leaves.

John Cena and Kurt Angle V Triple H

Cena and Angle aren't completely easy with one another, they don't really like each other despite the circumstances. Triple H comes out and gets in the ring. Then there's a long wait as Triple H tries talking his opponents out the match.

Then the countdown to Y2J begins.

and WWE Heavyweight champion Chris Jericho

Kurt and Jericho start off. Angle is vicious as he attacks, but Jericho gets momentum back and eventually tags to Triple H, who works hard on Angle with several knees to the face. Angle slips out of a hold and hits multiple German suplexes. He tags to Cena who pumps up the crowd and takes down The Game. Triple H manages a fight back with a back body drop, and tags to Y2J. Y2J and Triple H corner Cena for a good part of the match.

Cena reverses an Irish whip and picks up Triple H for the FU! He hits it and makes the cover! 1-2-No! Jericho broke it up and Angle comes flying at Y2J and they both brawl outside. Triple H rolls out of the ring and gets something from under it...A sledgehammer! The ref is distracted by Jericho and Angle, Triple H charges at Cena, who ducks! But The Game swings the hammer as he turns around and it whacks the gut of Cena. He pedigrees him and makes the cover. 1-2-3. The Game pins Cena and wins! The crowd boo as he makes his way back up the ramp raising his arms in victory.

Chris Benoit is interviewed, asked about the Number One Contender's Tournament. The matches were made by Austin rather than a tombola, so Benoit doesn't know who his opponent is. But that doesn't matter, because he will go through everyone, and he will kick Jericho's ass. He's going to show him what it takes to be a real champion. The crowd cheer for the Rabid Wolverine.

Number One Contender Tournament: Semi Final Match

Chris Benoit V JBL

JBL is his opponent, who has impressed and can very well end Benoit's run. Benoit starts off with some good suplexes, but JBL gets the match in his favour using his strength by throwing Benoit out of the ring. He slams Benoit's head on the steel steps then gets him back in the ring. Benoit immediately attacks JBL as he gets in the ring and starts unleashing chops and the Three Amigos! JBL gives Benoit a big whip into the turnbuckle. Then he starts kneeing him in the stomach, he gives him a powerslam and stands off him.

JBL waits for Benoit to get up, then runs for the Clothesline From Hell, but Benoit grabs the arm and locks in the Crippler Crossface! JBL taps and Benoit advances to the final!

Number One Contender Tournament: Semi Final Match

Badass V Randy Orton

The Legend Killer is one match away from the final, but he has to beat Badass to do it, who also is in the frame for a title shot. Badass knows all of Orton's tricks and has the advantage early on. Orton gets back with sleeperholds to wear Badass down. He eventually gets out of Orton's hold with a jawbreaker, but Orton keeps on him.

Randy gets him up on the turnbuckle and goes for a superplex, he lifts him up but Badass quickly reverses into a super tornado DDT!!! Badass staggers up then gets up on the turnbuckle. He jumps onto the ropes and moonsaults off it landing on Orton! (Off The Wall Moonsault) and hooks the leg: 1-2-3! Badass gets the big win and will face Benoit in the final to determine who will face Jericho at Backlash for his WWE title! He celebrates as does the crowd as Smackdown ends.

Results:

Paul London def. Nunzio

Samoa Joe def. William Regal

Booker T def. Chavo Guerrero to become #1 contender for the US Title

Triple H and WWE Heavyweight champion Chris Jericho def. John Cena and Kurt Angle

Chris Benoit def. JBL in the Semi Finals of the #1 Contender tournament to advance

Pre-Show Recap

RAW

Tonight is the final between Badass and Chris Benoit.

The following Smackdown, Austin explained that Vince had no authority to choose the replacement GM, and that the decision was down to the board. Because of this, Shane McMahon isn't temporary GM, Steve Austin, the board's pic, is.

Triple H has plenty of enemies

Triple H had brought back X-Pac (Heel), along with his buddy Justin Credible (Heel), to back him up, practically bodyguards or henchmen due to K-Kwik (F) constantly jumping him. Triple H was beginning a feud with John Cena (F) until Cena was injured during a backstage Triple H assault. The Game beat Kwik with no help at WrestleMania, but Pac and Credible continued to attack K-Kwik on a show or two after the PPV.

Triple H advanced in the #1 contender tournament to face Chris Benoit (F) in the Quarter Finals by beating Kurt Angle (Tweener), with help from his cronies. Angle was left irate (he was the man who Jericho beat to become champion) and went on a manhunt, along with K-Kwik, for Triple H. It came to a head in the Triple H V Benoit match, which Benoit won after X-Pac and Credible interrupted for Triple H, leading to Angle and Kwik to come out and deal with the cronies, and corner Triple H.

Then John Cena came back from injury. He FU'd Triple H, followed by a superkick from Kwik and an Angle Slam by Angle for the easy pin, meaning Benoit advanced, and Triple H was screwed out of the win, just like he screwed Angle.

On Smackdown, Steve Austin announced he had suspended X-Pac and Credible. It's now mainly Cena and Angle who want more of Triple H.

HBK with a point to prove

Unhappy at not being in the #1 Contender's Tournament, Shawn Michaels (F) has been put in a sort of gauntlet to prove himself by Ric Flair. Nearly every show he's been fighting an opponent (or two) and has picked up the win. Despite Flair's injury, the gauntlet continued, with HBK picking up a lot of wins, his last against the man who lost in the Intercontinental Title match at WretleMania, Jerry Lynn (F).

This turned out to be a number one contender match of sorts, as when HBK asked Vince McMahon in the next show for a title shot, he got one...For the IC Title against AJ Styles, which will take place at Backlash.

Unfortunately for him, HBK was expecting a Heavyweight Title shot.

On the next show, D'Lo defeated Chavo Guerrero (F) for his US Title, due to a botched up interference by Booker T. Booker hit Chavo by accident with a kick meant for D'Lo.

On Smackdown, Booker had a match against Chavo to determine the number one contender for the US Title. Booker won, and he will face champion D'Lo at Backlash.

The Samoan and the Punk

The two's first match for WWE was against each other. Samoa Joe [F] won, and now CM Punk (Heel) seems to hold a grudge against him. The two have attacked and interfered with each other constantly.

Earlier today, it was written on WWE.com that the two will settle their differences at Backlash.

The new number one contender...

April 17, 2006

The show starts with AJ Styles and Paul Heyman getting in the ring, Paul holding a mic. He starts talking of how good AJ looks with a title on his shoulder, how he's the greatest athlete in the WWE and in the world. AJ smirks as he continues.

Heyman changes the subject to HBK, who he says doesn't respect the champion or the championship with his dislike of being given such a fine opportunity.

HBK's music plays.

Shawn Michaels gets in the ring with a mic of his own. He says he has no problem beating AJ and winning the title, even if it's not the WWE Heavyweight title. Because by winning this match at Backlash, HBK will be showing more how he deserves the 'big' title shot he should be getting.

Paul Heyman replies by going up to his face and saying he'll never get a bigger chance for the rest of his life, because he's too old and too unskilled to beat The Phenomenal AJ Styles. It's AJ that's going to the top, not Shawn. With that AJ suddenly hit Shawn with his own Sweet Chin Music, much to the distaste of the crowd! AJ poses whilst Paul Heyman shouts pointing at him, raising his arm.

James Dick w/ Chad Dick V Romeo w/ Antonio

Singles action for one half of two tag teams, The Dicks and The Heart-Throbs, accompanied by their other halves.

Chad Dick constantly distracts Romeo, pulling his leg or arguing with the ref. He does it one too many times, and Antonio jumps at him and he throws Chad over the barricade. James Dick is distracted and gets rolled up for the 3 count!

Nick Nemeth V Val Venis

Val dominates most of the match, frustrating Nemeth. Nemeth wildly throws a clothesline, but Venis ducks it and hits a suplex, then quickly climbs the turnbuckle and hits the Money Shot. Nemeth strops after the match, chasing the ref out of the ring.

John Cena makes his way down to the ring, and grabs a mic. He keeps it simple, saying he wants to fight Triple H, one-on-one, and he's not gonna stop asking until he gets his ass out here like a man and accepts the challenge.

Much to Cena's surprise, Kurt Angle makes his way down the ramp and in the ring, then takes the mic from Cena.

Kurt Angle: "Now hang on. I know you've still got some problems with Triple H, he got you injured. But Triple H screwed me, Kurt Angle, out of a WWE Heavyweight Title shot! Oh it's true! And I want a shot at him first!"

'Time to play The Game...'

The crowd cheer and boo simultaneously as Triple H comes out in his suit holding a mic.

Triple H: "You wanna piece of me, Kurt?...John?...you think, you can take me on? Well TS."

The crowd boo ferociously.

Triple H: "I'm not gonna fight either of you one on one, one after another, and I'm not gonna face you in a 2-on-1 handicap match. No, neither of you are getting a piece of The Game, so stop begging."

*GLASS SHATTERS*

The crowd go ballistic and Triple H tilts his head back groaning as Austin appears beside Triple H on the ramp.

Austin: "A 2-on-1 handicap match? What? That sounds like a good idea to me. Stone Cold's gonna make a match for Backlash right here: Triple H V John Cena...and Kurt Angle, in the handicap match that you just suggested."

Triple H shouts and argues at Austin.

Austin: "Alright then, how about...keep your mouth shut, Stone Cold's talking...how about we leave it down to the opinions of the people here. If ya wanna see Triple H face Cena and Angle in a handicap match at Backlash...Gimme a 'Helllllll Yeah'"

The crowd shout "HELL YEAH!"

Austin points to Triple H.

Austin: "Whether you like or not, I don't give a rat's ass, you're fighting against them two at Backlash, and that's the bottom line."

Austin leaves Triple H fuming and Angle and Cena nod their heads and smirk in agreement.

Backstage, Chris Jericho is interviewed. He's asked about the #1 contender tournament final tonight. Jericho says he has history with Benoit, and Badass is indeed a badass, but who cares? Y2J can beat either of them, and he'll do it at Backlash.

Cruiserweight Title match

Gregory Helms V Matt Hardy ©

Matt defending his title this time against Gregory Helms, who always has a point to prove. Matt has the momentum for most of the match, Helms hits a big shoulder breaker but misses the Shining Wizard. Matt himself misses the flying leg drop and Helms goes for the Shining Wizard, but Matt avoids it again, and hits the Twist Of Fate to win.

Rob Van Dam bumps into Commissioner Mick Foley and throws an idea at him. Rob says he thinks something's missing from the WWE, it needs to be a little more 'hardcore'. He says Mick is one of the Kings of Hardcore, and wants to ask what he thinks. Foley says he's willing to give it a shot, and books RVD against Vito in a hardcore match for Smackdown.

IC champ AJ Styles, CM Punk and Booker T V Shawn Michaels, Samoa Joe and US champ D'Lo Brown

An explosive 6 man tag, mixed with styles. AJ and Samoa start off, and Samoa has control. He tags to HBK and HBK immediately hits Sweet Chin Music in revenge for what happened earlier! He makes the cover and Booker breaks it up. The ref gets him back in his corner as Samoa and HBK double dropkick AJ. AJ gets his breath back and whips Michaels into the turnbuckle, causing him to topple over it and back in the ring again.

AJ tags CM Punk and CM keeps Michaels on his toes with some good moves, D'Lo gets a blind tag on HBK and missile dropkicks Punk, and wiggles his head at Booker. CM fights back with a powerslam and tags to Booker T. Booker starts feeling the electricity in the ring and chops D'Lo, and chops him again. He gets his whip reversed but lands a high kick to D'Lo's face. As D'Lo gets up, Booker goes for another but D'Lo lifts him up and lands the Sky High!

He puts his hands on Bookers stomach and the ref counts. AJ dropkicks D'Lo in the face to break up the pin, and HBK charges in and he and AJ go falling through the middle rope as CM blindsides D'Lo with a punch. Samoa comes in and they brawl on one corner of the ring as Booker low blows D'Lo from behind, the ref is distracted. Booker staggers up and hits the Scissor Kick! He gets the 1-2-3.

Booker cheats his way to a pinfall on D'Lo and he celebrates as refs seperate the other 4 men.

Number One Contender Tournament: Final

Badass V Chris Benoit

Both men make their entrances to big cheers and the match begins. It starts off fast, Badass flips out of a German suplex attempt by Benoit, Benoit reverses a suplex with a quick roll-up, but only gets a two count.

The match goes on, both men reversing plenty of moves, knowing what to expect. Badass whips Benoit and goes for a clothesline, but Benoit quickly tries to grab the arm for the crossface but Badass snaps it away desperately. The two stare down a little. They end up fighting by the turnbuckle, Benoit with hard chops. Badass gets him on the turnbuckle and starts stomping a mudhole. He lifts him up to the top turnbuckle, then climbs up for a superplex, but Benoit fights back. He grabs Badass around the waist, as if he's about to super belly-to-belly suplex him out of the ring! But Badass fights back and goes for the superplex again. Benoits is lifted up, but he twists out of it and lands on his feet, then quickly runs up and super German suplexes Badass, the impact heard around the arena. Benoits get on top and lands the Swan Dive Headbutt. He makes the cover: 1...2...3!

Chris Benoit is going to Backlash to face Chris Jericho for the WWE Heavyweight title!

He gets on the turnbuckle and celebrates.

But Jericho comes running to the ring! When Benoit gets off the corner and turns around, he gets a faceful of the title he's challenging for! The crowd's cheers turn to boos as Jericho outstretches his arms and poses with his title...

Results:

Romeo def. James Dick

Val Venis def. Nick Nemeth

Cruiserweight champion Matt Hardy def. Gregory Helms to retain

Booker T, AJ Styles and CM Punk def D'Lo Brown, Shawn Michaels and Samoa Joe

Chris Masters and Nick Nemeth have been sent to OVW. However Chris Masters is unhappy at this decision, whilst WWE believe he has untapped potential.

Will Masters be released during a time where costs are still being cut? Or will he stay and possibly be a big success in WWE? Apparently, how he does in his first month of OVW will decide this.
