WWE Friday Night Wrestling

April 7, 2006

The Scheduele

Friday Night Wrestling opens with music and pyro as Michael Cole and Taz welcome you. They announce that the first half of the show will be Smackdown!, and the second will be Raw. However, both main events will be the last two matches of the night.

A Warning for the Winner

The show cut back stage, and Triple H held an interview, where he told that whoever wins the battle royal tonight better watch out. Triple H goes on to say that no matter who it is, they will not take his title away from him.

MNM def. Mexicools

A great match with tons of action by all four men. MNM were able to use their quickness, but their's was no match for Super Crazy and Psicosis'. Mexicool began taking advantage after some double teaming on Nitro. Crazy had control and went on continuing his attack on Nitro. Super Crazy hit a rolling kick on Nitro, followed by an elbow drop attempt...but he missed. Nitro recovered and hit a spin kick to the face of Crazy. After a tag between Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro, Mercury struck Crazy followed by a very nice super kick. The battle continued with Psicosis coming in and taking control, but it wasn't enough, after Mercury tagged out, and him and Nitro hit the Snapshot for the win. After the match, The HooliganZ, Paul London and Brian Kendrick came running into the ring! They double teamed Nitro, and hit a double dropsault, sending him to the outside. After that, they attacked Mercury, and both men climbed to each of the top ropes diaglnaly across from each other, and both jumped, and hit Mercury with a double leg drop! Nitro slowly started crawling back in to the ring as The HooliganZ left.

One Last Chance

The United States Champion, Randy Orton, was shown walking backstage, when he was approached by Chris Benoit. Benoit told Orton that he wants one last chance at winning back his title. Orton told Benoit that he'll think about it, as he walked off.

CM Punk....and The Boogeyman?

CM Punk's locker room door is shown with his name on it, when Boogeyman crawled on to screen. He starred at the door, then walked in, as the camera faded to commercial.

The Undertaker def. CM Punk

When we returned from commercial, it was revealed Boogeyman talked to Punk about Punk's match with Undertaker, and it was surprisingly great match. The veteran versus the new guy. And the new guy did damn good. Punk had a lot of control of this match, hitting 'Taker with lots of moves, including some we've never seen before. Like a modified Rock Bottom off the top rope! Punk went on taking Undertaker down with all kinds of moves, but Undertaker dug down deep, and was able to chokeslam Punk, which changed the momentum by one hundred percent. Undertaker continued to beat on Punk, with Punk getting in very little offense. 'Taker finally won it after a Tombstone Piledriver on Punk. As Undertaker was celebrating, The Boogeyman's music played as he made his way on to the stage. He had a clock in his hand and he swung it back and forth. He then smashed it over his head as the glass shattered everywhere! Boogeyman laughed, and crawled backwards, to the backstage area.

Friday Night Wrestling goes...RAW

The opening video for Raw is played, as the Raw part of the show begins....

Sneak Attack

The Raw part of the show begins with Kane and Big Show in their locker room, when Tyson Tomko and Snitsky ran in with steel chairs and they attacked Kane and Big Show with them. They left as Show and Kane were knocked out on the ground. However, after the left, both men rose up!

John Cena def. Lance Cade

A very quick match, with Lance getting only a move or two off on Cena. Cena beat down on Cade, and quickly hit him with the F-U for the victory. After the match, Cena got on the mic, and told Carlito that what happened last week on Raw, will never happen again. Cena says he wants revenge, and he challenges Carlito to a match at Backlash.

RVD wants the WWE Title....No Matter What

Maria held an interview backstage with RVD, and he said that he's going to win the WWE Title at Backlash, no matter who the champion is. He says he has a lot of respect for Jericho, and none for Edge. Either way, Van Dam said, he's going to win that title.

Kurt Angle wins 10 man battle royal

Eliminations;

Road Warrior Animal by Randy Orton

Rey Mysterio by Booker T

Randy Orton by Chris Benoit

Booker T by Chris Benoit

Hardcore Holly by Kurt Angle

Matt Hardy by Lashley

JBL by Kurt Angle

It then came down to Lashley, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle. The crowd had a mixed reaction. Some were cheering for Benoit, some for Angle, and some for Lashley. Benoit was the first to be eliminated out of the three, after Randy Orton came running back out, and he hit Benoit with an RKO, followed by Lashley tossing Benoit out. It was then down the Lashley and Angle. Both men brawled for a while, until Lashley had total control of Angle, and he went for the Dominator, bu Angle reversed, and he sent Lashley flying over the top rope!

Edge def. Chris Jericho

to retain WWE Title

An AMAZING main event, with a lot of back and forth action. Both men attacked each other right away, but Jericho was able to get a slight advantage. Jericho bodyslammed Edge, and hit an elbow drop. Jericho then hit a flying shoulder tackle. Jericho continued hitting Edge with moves, until Edge hit a spinning neckbreaker on Jericho. Chris Jericho was able to pull a viscous kick out of nowhere, followed by a legsweep. Jericho climbed to the top rope, and hit a flying cross body on Edge! The match continued. Edge reversed a snap-suplex and hit Jericho with one, followed by an elbow drop, then a headlock. The match continued with even more action. Edge DDTed Chris Jericho, and Jericho kicked out at the last second! Edge looked shocked. Chris Jericho reversed an arm drag, and hit a dropkick on Edge. Edge got lifted to his feet by Chris Jericho, and Jericho sent Edge off the ropes, and Edge nailed Jericho with a Spear! Edge went for a pin, but he only got a two count. Edge was shocked. Edge then lifted Jericho to his feet, but Jericho brought Edge down by his legs, and he got him in the Walls of Jericho! Edge was so close to tapping, but he was able to get to the ropes in time. Jericho then we for a dropkick, but Edge ducked, and he ended up hitting the ref instead! Jericho ducked a clothesline attempt by Edge, and he knocked Edge to the canvas. Jericho then hit Edge with a Lionsault! He went for the cover, but there was no ref. As he was trying to awake the ref, Shelton Benjamin ran into the ring, and hit Jericho with a huge Super Kick to the jaw! Benjamin then climbed out of the ring, as a second ref came running down the aisle. He slid into the ring, and started counting as Edge pinned Jericho. 1...2..JERICHO KICKED OUT! Edge, Shelton, the fans, and even Jericho couldn't believe it. Edge went for an electric chair on Chris, but he rolled out, and got Edge into a roll up pin. Edge was able to kick out however, and he rolled to the middle of the ring. Chris then got up quickly, and ran towards the ropes, then hit Edge with another Lionsault. 1...2.....KICKOUT! Edge barely kicked out, and was sent off the ropes by Jericho. Edge ducked a clothesline, and hit Jericho with a huge Spear. 1...2.....3! It was finally over. Edge retained his WWE Title after a hard fought match.

The BIG Announcement

The show began with Vince McMahon in the ring with a microphone. Vince told the crowd about his big announcement, in case they didn't read about it on WWE.com. Vince began a speech about how last year, something happened that changed the WWE in a big way. The draft lottery. Vince then announced, that there will be another draft lottery this year! Vince said that on Friday Night Wrestling next week the first two drafted superstars will be announced. This will continue on ever FNW, until all have been announced. Vince also went on to say the WWE will be going back to two shows in about a months time, on a new, un-announced, TV station.

MNM Attempts to Get Revenge....and Fails

Paul London and Brian Kendrick, The HooliganZ, are in the ring ready for their match with Gymini, when MNM comes into the ring via the crowd! They began punching away at London and Kendrick, but they block some punches, and both HooliganZ hit Nitro and Mercury with dropsaults! London and Kendrick attacked MNM some more, and then finally left as MNM was down on the mat.

Triple H's Thoughts on Angle

FNW returned from commercials with the World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H. Triple H talked about how Angle won the battle royal last week, yet Triple H thinks that Angle isn't deserving of his title. Triple H said that Angle had his chance at being World Champion, but now it's Triple H's time to return as the 'king' of the WWE. Triple H went on to put Angle down, until Angle obviously had enough of it, and he ran down the aisle, into the ring, and him and Triple H brawled until it was broken up by security, referees, and other staff members.

The Boogeyman def. Hardcore Holly

A pretty quick match, with Hardcore in control of Boogeyman in the beginning. Boogeyman was able to fight back after reversing an Alabama Slam. Boogeyman reversed an irish whip and Hardcore Holly ran into the corner, and as he came backwards, Boogeyman hit him with a Pump Handle Slam for the win! As Boogeyman began leaving the ring, the lights went out, and purple smoke surrounded The Boogeyman. Boogeyman didn't wait long, then he ran up the aisle to the backstage.

Matt Hardy def. Paul Burchill, Tatanka, and Booker T

to win match with Randy Orton next week for the United States Title

A great match, with all four men trading moves on eachother. Booker and Tatanka fought out on the outside of the ring, and Hardy hit a big clothesline on Burchill. Hardy fired off some right and left hands. Hardy DDTed Paul Burchill, as the camera focused on Booker and Tatanka. Booker T hit some punches, followed by a snap suplex. The match went on, until Tatanka and Burchil were on the top rope, trying to superplex each other, until Booker T pushed them both off, to the outside. Booker T turned around, and was hit with a Twist of Fate for the win!

RAW's Turn...

The Raw part of the show is about to start...

Shane Accepts

Shane McMahon came out to the ring, to accept Shawn Michaels' challenge for a match at Backlash. Shane, however, added a stipulation to the match. Shane told everyone that he talked to his father, Vince, and that the match will now be a 'loser leaves Raw' match! Shane went on to say that when Shawn loses, he and his father will never have to deal with Michaels again. Michaels then made his way to the ring with a mic, but he didn't say anything. Instead he just super kicked Shane, and left the ring, back the aisle with a smile on his face.

Ric Flair def. Rob Conway

A pretty good match, with Rob Conway surprisingly putting up a great fight against the Nature Boy. It started off with Flair in control. Flair slammed Rob Conway down. Flair attacked Conway with some chops, followed by a snap suplex. Conway got hit with another suplex by Ric Flair. Conway then began taking control, and hit Flair with some moves of is own. First a dropkick, followed by a DDT. Conway and Flair continued to battle, until Rob went for The Ego Trip, but it got reversed, and Rob Conway got locked in the Figure Four Leglock! Conway had no choice but to tap. After the match Rob Conway gave a murderous look toward Ric Flair...and Conway attacked Flair! Flair gets dropped to the canvas, then battered with a barrage of rights and lefts. Conway picked him up and launches him over the top rope to the outside. Conway then got on the mic, and said that win was a fluke, and Rob challenged Ric to a rematch at Backlash!

Cena's Lost his Cool

FNW returned from commercials with Carlito in the ring, ready for another addition of Carlito's Cabanna. Carlito announced his guest would be John Cena. However, before he brought John Cena out, he began making fun of Cena, how's no longer WWE Champion, how he's not cool, and un-talented. John Cena had obviously hear enough, and he ran down to the ring, and attacked Carlito right away. Cena punched away at Carlito, throwing him around the ring, destroying the Carlito's Cabanna set. John then went for an F-U, but Carlito reversed it, and ran out of the ring. Carlito grabbed a mic and said he accepts Cena's challenge for Backlash as we walked back up the aisle.

Big Show drew Snitsky

A great match, with a lot of back and forth action by both these powerful men. Snitsky was surprisingly able to gain control over the 500 lbs. giant, and Snitsky hit Show with a spinning neckbreaker. Back elbow connected, and Show staggered backward. Show reversed an irish whip, and Snitsky got squashed in the corner with a clothesline. The match went on, with both men eventually flying over the top rope, to the outside. As they were outside, they both grabbed steel chairs, and swung at each other, both of them hitting each other in the head! The referee was confused for a moment, then called for the bell. Lilian Garcia announced the match a Double DQ.

Basklash Card

The Backlash card was run down by Joey Styles and The King.

Shelton Benjamin def. Eugene

to retain WWE Intercontinental Title

A pretty good match, however Eugene wasn't able to get much offense in. Eugene got some moves off on Benjamin, including hitting a superplex off the top rope. Shelton then quickly regained control after ducking a clothesline, then hitting Eugene with a kick to the back of the head. Eugene tried to fight back again, as he went to hit a dropkick, and Shelton moved. Shelton Benjamin waited for him to get up, and he nailed Eugene with a super kick, followed by a T-Bone Suplex for the win. After the match, Chris Jericho came running down the aisle with a steel chair, and when he entered the ring, Jericho hit Shelton with a vicious chair shot right to the head! Jericho stood over Shelton as he was knocked out holding his head.

Edge will NOT Give Up his Title

In the ring, Jonathan Coachman held an interview with the Number One Contender for the WWE Title, Rob Van Dam. RVD said that he was disappointed about his lost at Wrestlemania, but Backlash would be R-V-D's night. RVD continued talking, until Edge's music played and him and Lita made their way to the ring. Edge and RVD traded insults with each other, both saying how they would come out on top at Backlash. Edge had enough, however, when RVD 'congratulated' Edge on his title reign, because it lasted longer than his first one, but RVD said he didn't get to enjoy his first title reign because he blinked. Edge got pissed, and he nailed RVD right in the head with the WWE Title! RVD was laid out as Edge and Lita left back up the aisle.

Backlash is looking good, cant wait to read it. Here's my predictions.

WWE Title - Edge vs Rob Van Dam

I think Edge is doing well as Champion and shouldn't lose his title just yet.

WWE Intercontinental Title - Chris Jericho vs Shelton Benjamin

Jericho should win simply because he has done an awful lot of losing since returning.

World Tag Titles - Big Show and Kane vs Snitsky and Tomko

The Challengers should win here to allow BS and Kane to wrestle in singles competition.

Carlito vs John Cena

A loss wont help Carlito much, plus I think its Carlito's time to start rising up the ranks.

Loser leaves RAW - Shawn Michaels vs Shane McMahon

Shane isnt realy useful, and HBK would be great added to the main event mix with RVD and Edge after Backlash.

Open Challenge - Chris Masters vs ???

I honestly have no idea who the opponent will be, but Mr. Money in the bank should win. Second thoughts, the opponent could be Goldust?

Ric Flair vs Rob Conway

I smell the start of a Conway push, since Ric won the first match, I see Rob winning the rematch.

Arrrrrrgh.....

Chris Masters def. Paul Burchill

Backlash kicked off with pyro and music, and right away this great event began. Chris Masters, Mr. Money in the Bank, made his way to the ring, ready for his open challenge. Masters waited for a few minutes, when a man dressed as a pirate came running down the aisle. Masters looked confused at first, but then he just laughed. The man dressed as a pirate got on the mic, and told everyone that his name was Paul Burchill. Paul said he's the newest edition to Raw, and that he'll make a mighty big impact. Burchill then reached into his coat pocket, and pulled out what appeared to be a bomb! He put it up to Masters' face, and after the fuse went out, a little flag popped out saying 'BOOM!' Masters jumped, and appeared a bit scared. Paul then began the attack, and the match began. Burchill had control right away, and was taking Chris down. Masters attempted several reversals, but Burchill used his speed, and technical wrestling ability to take Masters down. Burchill climbed the top rope, and hit a flying elbow off the top rope. Masters was finally able to power out of a headlock, and he hit a backbreaker on Paul. Burchill then walked into a side slam. Chris Masters continued the offense, and he finally got a roll-up...and a handful of tights as well. Chris Masters quickly left the ring, as Paul got back up, and he seemed very un-happy. He went over to where he put his coat, and pulled out a sword, and pointed it at Chris Masters, as Mr. Money in the Bank left up the aisle.

Some Miss-Communication Leads to...New Tag Champions

Snitsky & Tomko def. Kane & Big Show

to win the World Tag Team Titles

A great tag team match. All four of these powerful man battled it out, with no one getting a huge advantage in the match. Tomko and Snitsky did their best to keep Show out of the match, as he's the bigger of the two, but when he got in the match Tomko and Snitsky whipped Show into the ropes and hit a double flapjack. They continued double team moves on Show, until the ref finally kicked Tomko out of the ring. Snitsky hit Big Show with some punches, followed by Show countering a sleeper hold by turning it into a jaw breaker. Snitsky then walked into a spike slam. Then there was a tag between Big Show and Kane. Kane right away hit a big clothesline. Kane hit another big clothesline on Snitsky, followed by a big boot. Snitsky reversed a hammerlock, and Snitsky hit Kane with a DDT. Snitsky tagged out to Tyson Tomko, and Tomko hit a right hand on Kane, followed by a powerslam. Tyson lifted Kand to his feet, and Kane ducked a clothesline, then knocked Tomko down with a huge uppercut. Kane tag out to Big Show, and he hit a running clothesline on Tyson Tomko. The battle went on, going back and forth, until Show tagged out to Kane, and Show held Tyson Tomko in place. Kane charges...but Tomko ducks, and the big boot floored Show! Tyson Tomko turned Kane around, and hit a Pump Handle Slam! 1....2....3. Tomko and Snitsky left the ring, celebrating their victory as Show and Kane starred each other down.

IPB Image

One Legend Down...

Rob Conway def. Ric Flair

Not the longest match of the night, but a great match none the less. Both men went back and forth for the whole first half of the match. Ironically, Flair took a chop from Conway, followed by a few uppercuts. Conway then hit a quick kick on Flair, sending him to the mat. Conway drove a forearm into the chest of Flair. Conway went for the cover but Ric Flair kicked out. Flair was then able to counter a sleeper hold by hitting Conway with shots to the mid-section. The match continues, as it goes back and forth some more. Powerslam from Ric Flair surprised Conway. Flair hit some chops, but then Rob Conway ducked a clothesline attempt. Delayed brainbuster suplex by Conway knocked Flair out. Rob Conway gets a roll-up...and grabs a handful of tights as well! The referee didn't see it: 1....2...3!!

IPB Image

Cena Gets 'Cooled' Down

Carlito def. John Cena

The match started quickly, both men brawling hitting each other with lefts and rights. The match went on with more brawling than wrestling. Carlito slowly gained control, knocking Cena down with some punches, and a snap suplex. Carlito then hit a second rope flying axe handle, and Cena went down. Cena blocked a suplex attempt and he hit a big backdrop on Carlito, executed well. Carlito then walked into a spike slam. The match continued, with Cena in control, until Carlito hit a bulldog off the ropes. John Cena was able to pull a dropkick out of nowhere. Carlito then got slammed. Carlito pushed out of a sleeper hold and hit a big dropkick on Cena. Carlito moved in on Cena as he got to his feet, and he hit Cena with a Cool Breeze! Carlito left the ring, walking up the aisle celebrating, as surprisingly the crowd cheered for him, and booed Cena. They even began a 'Cena sucks!' chant.

Shawn says Goodbye

Shane McMahon def. Shawn Michaels in loser leaves Raw match.

The whole start of the match had Michaels in control, with Shane getting in very little offence. Shane McMahon used a forearm to the face of HBK, but HBK reverses a waistlock, and hit a backdrop. Shane took a headbutt from Shawn Michaels, followed by some chops. Shane countered a clothesline, but a flying shoulder tackle by HBK sent McMahon to the mat. The match continues like this, with HBK in control. However, Shane McMahon was able to hit a standing spinebuster on Shawn, which gave Shane the advantage. However, Shawn Michaels elbowed Shane McMahon in the face to break a hammerlock and a short range spear from Shawn Michaels, followed by vicious punching to the head of McMahon. Shane ducked a clothesline by Shawn Michaels, and Michaels hit the ref by mistake. Shawn quickly turned around and he hit McMahon with the Sweet Chin Music! HBK went for the cover, but of course there was no count, due to the ref being knocked out. As HBK tried to help the ref up, Vince McMahon came running down the aisle and onto the apron! HBK turned around and was dropped throat-first onto the top rope by Vince! Vince McMahon left HBK in big trouble. Shane then rolled Michaels up, pulling the tights, and he got the three count! Shane McMahon shook hands with Vince McMahon, showing that their plan worked perfectly, as Michaels left the arena with chants of 'HBK!' from the crowd.

NEW Intercontinental Champion!

Chris Jericho def. Shelton Benjamin

to become Intercontinental Champion

The match began with a lot of fast paced action, as the crowd was solidly behind Y2J. Jericho took control, and he began working on Shelton's knees, and legs. Jericho hit a kick to the leg, followed up by another kick to the leg. Jericho then used a basement dropkick to the knee of Shelton. Jericho changed his attack, and hit a spin kick to the face of Benjamin. Shelton pushed out of a headlock, and sent Jericho off the ropes. Shelton took a page out of Jericho's book, and used a basement dropkick to the knee. Shelton Benjamin then hit a missile dropkick on Jericho. The match continues, this time with Shelton in control. Chris Jericho pulled an enzuguri out of nowhere, however. Shelton then took a hurrancarana by Jericho. Chris sent Shelton off the ropes, by gets hit with a flying knee to the face. Shelton dropped an elbow...but missed. Dropkick connected, and Jericho went down. Chris Jericho hit a right hand out of nowhere, and took control once again. Spin kick by Chris Jericho to the face of Benjamin, sent him down to the mat. The match went on, with Shelton and Jericho trading the control of the match. Eventually, Chris Jericho had Shelton Benjamin down on the canvas and Shelton Benjamin got locked in the Walls Of Jericho! Shelton held on for a good amount of time, but he just couldn't reach the ropes or escape, and he had no choice but to tap. Chris Jericho then climbed to the top rope celebrating the victory, as the crowd chanted 'Y2J!'.

Still Champion

Edge def. Rob Van Dam

to retain WWE Title

An amazing match, where the whole damn show, RVD, would not give up! RVD was able to take control right away, knocking the WWE champion to the outside. Edge talked for a moment with Lita, then got back into the ring. As soon as he did, Edge hit a right hand on RVD. Edge fired off some more right and left hands. However, a big clothesline by RVD knocked Edge down. Rob Van Dam then hit a dropkick on Edge. With Edge down on the canvas, RVD hit a few standing leg drops to Edge. However, RVD went for that move one too many times, Rob Van Dam missed a big legdrop, and Edge regained control as the match went on. Later on, Edge hit a bulldog off the ropes, which he thought would end it, but it didn't. The match continued. RVD was able to counter a sleeper hold by turning it into a jaw breaker, followed by a flipping senton on Edge. Kicks from Rob Van Dam to the leg of Edge, followed by a nice spinning heel kick to the face. Edge was able to counter an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Edge had regained control. RVD fought back however, using his legs some more to take Edge down. First, RVD hit a Rolling Thunder. It wasn't enough, however, so he hit Edge with a split legged moonsault. Edge was still able to kick out of a pin attempt. RVD then went to the tope rope, as the crowd chanted 'R-V-D!', Van Dam jumped into the air, going for a Five Star Frog splash! However, as RVD was in mid-air, Edge moved out of the way! Van Dam slowly got up, and Edge hit him with a massive Spear! Edge went for the cover, and as he did, he put his feet up on the ropes for leverage! Edge and Lita quickly left to celebrate on the ramp way, as the crowd booed, Backlash came to an end.

WWE Star Injured

Last night, before Backlash, Tatanka was in a dark match with OVW star, Aaron Stevens. In this match, Tatanka suffered a torn calf. This happened near the end of the match, and Tatanka still fought, and won the match. He was taken out by EMTs right after the match however. This looks to be a serious injury. Chris Chavis, Tatanka, may not return until early next year.

Backlash was great, nice to see I got most my predictions right :) Although HBK losing shocked me. i expect he'll go to Smackdown! though, wouldn't mind seeing him involved with the Angle/HHH fued since he has history with both of them. Keep up the good work.

Challenge

Kurt Angle was in the ring, and he called out Triple H. Angle challenged Triple H to a rematch at Judgement Day for the World Heavyweight Title. Triple H accepted the challenge and after some heated words, they brawled all the way back into the aisle, and eventually out of sight backstage.

Rene Dupree def. Lashley

The drafted wrestler Smackdown! was revealed to be Rene Dupree, and he made his way to the ring for his match with Lashley. Big clothesline from Lashley kicks off the match. Rene Dupree hit a right hand out of nowhere on Lashley, followed by a forearm to the face. Rene sent Lashley to the ropes, and hit a flying shoulder tackle sending Lashley to the mat. Hook of the leg for a pin, but Lashley gets his shoulder up. Rene Dupree gets hit with a standing spinebuster. Lashley suplexes Rene Dupree and goes for the cover, but gets only a 2 count! Lashley with a standing spinebuster on Rene, for another 2 count. Lashley goes for a running splash, but Rene lifted his knees to nail Lashley in the gut. Rene Dupree grappled with Lashley, and positioned himself so that the referee couldn't see...and hit a low blow! He rolled up the stunned Lashley for the win!! Rene Dupree left the ring and headed up the aisle at speed.

Video

A video is played, hyping the The Boogeyman vs The Undertaker feud.

Ladder Match

MNM are in the ring after the commercial and the HooliganZ come out onto the sound stage, and issue a challenge for a ladder match at Judgment Day. MNM accepted, and the two teams traded insults for a while before leaving.

Raw Time

Raw's opening video played, and the Raw part of the show began.

Welcome to Raw.

Raw's part of the show begins with Chris Jericho standing in the ring, ready for another addition of Highlight Reel. Jericho first talks about his win over Shelton last night, as he poses with the IC title, as the crowd cheers. After some ranting about his championship win, he announces his guest will be the first draftee to Raw. After a short pause, Edge's music plays, as the WWE champion with Lita by his side walks down the aisle. Edge gets in the ring, and like Jericho, talks about his title win at Backlash, and how he beat RVD, again. Edge then tells Jericho that he wants to see the newest member to Raw in person. Jericho then announces the newest member to the Raw locker room.....Chris Benoit! Jericho welcomes Benoit back to Raw. It doesn't take long before insults are flying, however, between Edge and Benoit. Benoit tells Edge that his win at Backlash wasn't even a real win, and how Edge cheated to win. A clip is then shown on the titantron from Edge defeating RVD last night. Edge tries to act dumb, and says he didn't cheat. RVD's music then plays, and he makes his way to the ring. RVD tells Edge that he agrees with Benoit, and that he wants a rematch for Edge's title. Benoit joins in, and says that RVD has had his fair chance for the WWE title, and that it's Benoit's turn. These verbal attack continue, until Chris Jericho is shoved aside, and the three men brawl, taking most of the set with them. Jericho does not look happy as he surveys the damage to the set, and Raw cuts to commercials.
