World Wrestling Federation backstory for the end of 1991.

[October 1991] After a recent shakeup in the Roster, Arn Anderson has returned to the World Wrestling Federation, and teamed up with long time associate, Ric Flair. Hulk Hogan, with a tight grasp on the WWF World Title has recently ended a feud with World Champion hopeful, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. The WWF Intercontinental Championship is being adamantly defended by champion Bret Hart, who is on quite an undefeated streak. WWF Tag Team Champions, The Legion of Doom maintain dominance against allcomers in the tag team division. The Great Muta debuts alongside Mr. Fuji.

[November 1991] Survivor Series is quite a disaster for current WWF Champion, as Ric Flair announces an alliance with Sid Justice, who was set to be on Hogan’s team later in the night against Flair’s team. Survivor Series proves to be unlucky for Hogan as the team of himself, The Ultimate Warrior and “Macho Man” Randy Savage are defeated by Ric Flair’s team of himself, Sid Justice, Arn Anderson and “Mr. Perfect” Curt Henning. WWF Intercontinental Champion, Bret Hart defeats Jake Roberts to retain his title at Survivor Series, but is assaulted post-match by The Mountie. The Genius promised to debut a megastar at Survivor Series, which turned out to be "The King" Jerry Lawler. Survivor Series is very good to the WWF Tag Team Champions, The Legion of Doom, as they win a three-way tag team match for the titles against The Nasty Boys and Money Inc.

[December 1991] The year ends off with a controversial changing of the guard. Ric Flair captures the WWF World Heavyweight Title, due to Sid Justice interfering on behalf of Flair. Hogan then later re-captures the title, due to the interference of Randy Savage in a rematch with Flair. This interference leads to a brawl between Justice and Savage. WWF President Jack Tunney decides due to the current controversy over the title, it would be declared vacant, and the winner of the 1992 Royal Rumble would become the WWF World Heavyweight Champion. The WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret Hart takes on one of his toughest opponents to date in the Mountie. Hart luckily retains his title, in a hard fought battle. The Mountie makes a challenge to the champion for the Royal Rumble. The Legion of Doom has a stranglehold on the WWF World Tag Team Titles, having defeated the likes of The Nasty Boys, The Natural Disasters, and their arch-nemesis Money Inc. The Dynamite Kid has rejoined the WWF beside his former partner Davey Boy Smith. Shawn Michaels turns on longtime Rockers partner Marty Jannetty.

It is now January 1st 1992.. how will things pan out for the WWF? Who will win the World Title in the 1992 Royal Rumble?

Nice doing a backstory of the events that preceded, it helped me freshen my memory up. I was quite young at this time.

I really like the layout and the first show was really enjoyable.

I was surprised at Bret Hart announcing he won't participate in the Royal Rumble, but eh.. Something will surely be made out of this.

I'll keep reading.

WrestleZone: The Premiere World Wrestling Federation Dirt Sheet!

With the increased interest in Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart, both men have been pushed to midcard status. They are rumored to be recieving a WWF Tag Team Title shot in the future.

The World Wrestling Federation seems to be teetering in the notion of who will be walking out of The Royal Rumble as WWF Champion, the two men that seem to be the focus are either Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair.

With recent developments in the talent hiring stages, there is tension in the lockerooms of possible cuts coming from less "camera friendly" wrestlers.

Bobby Heenan to turn face?

That's all we have this week folks... until next week... if you heard it, we already knew.

Hey just read the first few shows and thought I'd point out what I liked etc.

I like the way you write the matches. If that style is done well, it can get across major spots, the psychology and purpose of a match, through a few bullet points rather than a thirty line play-by-play style. I also like the majority of your booking. Whereas in 2000 onwards you'd often see HHH, Taker etc. fighting one another on RAW, unlike back in the late 80's, early 90's, where you'd get main eventers beating the undercard instead. Not exactly squashes, but with clean wins after a very brief period of offense from the opponent. Not only is it getting people like Repo Man and Velentine on TV and keeping the wrestlers used fresh, there's the whole morale thing. It's obviously very realistic to the era.

What I didn't like? If you're playing on EWR, it must be hella tough to keep rotating workers at the main event without the morale thing? That said, I didn't like the Hogan/Savage Vs Flair/Sid match coming out of nowhere. Then the fact that Hogan got pinned on TV, in what I view as almost a clean win? That was a bit bizarre.

But overall, yeah. I like it. Hopefully you won't push the exact same guys as in real life, and you could be onto a winner.

Thanks for the response, what I'm going for, is the push of Prime Time Wrestling to become the major stand-out show. That, and for storyline reasons is why I put a Mega Main Event on Prime Time Wrestling. Hogan getting pinned on TV is just pressing the Sid Justice character forward. I think you'll definately like the things I have coming up in the near future, and hope you keep reading.

WrestleZone: The Premiere World Wrestling Federation Dirt Sheet!

The Powers of Pain, The Warlord and The Barbarian have been seen together outside a WWF ring, but have boasted of a return. Who has rebuilt this monsterous team and for what reason?

Speaking of rebuilding teams, with the announcement of Paul Roma coming back to the WWF, will he and Hercules be reuniting Power and Glory? If so, the tag team division is getting hotter and hotter.

It seems as of late that the WWF has a trained eye on the Smokey Mountain Wrestling promotion, watching it's day-to-day business and wrestlers.

Bobby Heenan to turn face? Probably not... but we can still hope.

That's all we have this week folks... until next week... if you heard it, we already knew.

Guest KDP McFly

I like this idea a lot, especially with being a huge Arn Anderson fan, I am interested to see if the Mega Powers will explode again or if AA will finally break away from Ric Flair and become a big world title contender FINALLY.

Papa Shango with the Undertaker and Paul Bearer fits extremely well and would have been much better if they would have done that originally. Interested to see what other characters are brought to the Funeral Parlor

Great Muta with Fuji is a good fit and could bold extremely well if he is pushed correctly and worked correctly.

Powers of Pain back together but being controlled by someone smells a little funny, seems to me they could be the next two members of the funeral parlor.

Keep up the good work I'll keep following (Y)
