I think they worked on this album during Pantera downtime, it's the Pantera band with David Allen Coe in a heavy metal/country western fusion. Came out May 2nd, I was wondering if anyone's heard it. Fucking brilliance, it is. I recommend it.

Wow, my mom's a big David Allen Coe fan and I've grown to like him a bit with his stuff with Kid Rock, so I probably want to check that out sometime.

Yeah, on the more metal songs on the album, Dimebag is really fucking on, and Coe's voice blends perfectly.

I'm a fan of Coe, but i'm not fond of Kid Rock, is their stuff together good for someone who isn't fond of Kid Rock's attempts to do country? (Aside from his stuff on Crossroads with Hank Williams Jr., some of which came out nicely)

It's about like his stuff with Hank. In fact, I can barely tell the difference between Coe and Hank from time to time.

I've seen it around stores and have been meaning to pick it up. I might go out sometime this week and get it, I was a little skeptical of it at first, but it could be good.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but yeah, the CD is smooth. The best bits are easily the rough guitar stuff like in "Nothin' To Lose" and "Heart Worn Highway".
