-A video showed how the Naturals have embarrassed, bruised and stolen from AMW. The video ends with Stevens and Douglas posing with the NWA World Tag Team Titles.

Match 1:

Shark Boy & Lazz Vs The Naturals

-The Naturals came out first, with the NWA World Tag Team Titles around their waists. Shark Boy then came out with his new tag team partner, the flamboyant and distracting Lazz. The two danced their way to the ring as their music played. The Naturals took the immediate advantage, working over Lazz. Douglas hit a Suplex, and then tagged in Chase Stevens, who set up for a Belly to Belly Suplex, but Lazz kissed him. Chase freaked out, letting go of the hold, and allowing Lazz to nail him with the Britney Spear! The flamboyant one crawled to his corner and tagged in his partner, who came in and bit Stevens hard on the ass. Chase tagged in Douglas, who came in and leveled Sharky with a Lariat. Douglas hit a DDT on Shark Boy, followed by another, but when he got up, Lazz tried to hit him with the Spear, but Douglas moved out of the way, and Lazz was met with a huge boot to the side of his head from Chase Stevens, which allowed Andy Douglas to hit the Natural Selection for the three count.

Winners: The Naturals at 6:14

-Recap of Jeff Jarrett pinning BG James to win the six man tag match on the PPV.

-Jeff Jarrett came out to the ring with a guitar and his penguin tuxedo on and said that next week on Impact, he’s going to defeat Ron Killings again, and advance in the tournament to get his title back. Jarrett rambled on about how Killings has never beaten him when it mattered, but Dusty Rhodes came out and told him to shut up. Dusty said that Jarrett is annoying and he would like nothing more than to whoop his ass. Rhodes told Jarrett that Vince Russo sent him out there to make sure that Jeff left the arena. Jarrett told Dusty that he would leave, but then nailed him over the head with the guitar! That was the second time in recent memory that Jeff has hit Dusty. Jarrett did leave the building, but gloated on his way to the back.

-A package airs of the seven men involved in the NWA Title tournament, and focuses mainly on Abyss’ match, this week on PPV, against a mystery opponent.

Match 2:

Sonny Siaki Vs Abyss w/ Goldilocks

-Siaki came out alone, as Desire is out injured after the Stretcher match against Trinity, and Pat Kenney wasn’t at the Impact Zone. Abyss came out with Goldilocks shouting instructions at him. Siaki tried a hit and run tactic, but the monster caught him on a Diving Forearm attempt, and then drove him hard into the mat with a Chokeslam. Abyss dominated the match from there, working over Siaki’s back with a Backbreaker, followed by an Overhead Backbreaker, and then a huge Avalanche into the corner. Abyss tried for a second Avalanche Splash, but Siaki moved out of the way. Abyss crashed hard into the turnbuckle, and then turned into a boot from Siaki, who then connected with the Siakalypse, but could not make the cover right away. When he finally did cover Abyss, Siaki only got a one count. The Samoan hit the ropes and nailed Abyss with a huge running forearm shot. The monster wobbled, but did not fall. Siaki hit another one, but again, Abyss just absorbed the blow. Siaki then hit the ropes a third time, but was caught coming off with the Black Hole Slam. Abyss covered, but Goldilocks yelled something at him. Abyss picked Siaki up, sent him into the ropes, and connected with a second Black Hole Slam, this time picking up the three count.

Winner: Abyss at 7:45

-Vince Russo is shown sitting in a chair backstage. He says that he understands the situation, but the match needs to happen. The camera zooms out to show AJ Styles sitting across from him. Styles said that he doesn’t think that Russo understands the situation, because if he did, he would give him a different partner. Russo asked AJ what he had against Jeff Hardy, and Styles said that he didn’t belong. Russo retorted that AJ didn’t belong when he first came in either. Russo said that unless AJ wants to make things difficult, he’ll take part in the match, and that if he knows what’s good for him, he’ll protect his investment (Hardy) next week on Impact, when Jeff Hardy goes one on one with Dallas.

Match 3:

Jerry Lynn Vs Eric Young w/ Scott D’Amore

-Before the match started, Young told D’Amore to stay out of the match, and the Team Canada Coach nodded his head in agreement. Young took it hard to Lynn early on, working over his knees, but the veteran Captain of Team NWA made a big time comeback, connecting with the TKO after ducking under a Showstopper (Spinning Superkick) attempt by Young. Lynn connected with a Tornado DDT, but Young kicked out at two. Lynn hit a Suplex, but could not follow up, as Young caught him with a thumb to the eye, followed by a vicious DDT for a two count. Showtime connected with a Slingshot Elbowdrop from the outside-in. Young tried for a Piledriver, but Lynn blocked it, and turned it into a modified Air Raid Crash for a close two count. Lynn set up for the Cradle Piledriver, but Young turned it into a Back Body Drop. D’Amore tossed something at Young, but the ref saw it and tossed it out of the ring. However, while the ref’s back was turned, D’Amore tried to hit Lynn with the hockey stick, but Jerry ducked, and D’Amore nailed Young in the chest. Lynn knocked D’Amore down with a big time right hand, and then connected with the Cradle Piledriver on Young for the win.

Winner: Jerry Lynn at 7:07

-A video aired showing Raven sitting in a room decorated with pictures of Sabu, all of which have been mutilated by a sharp object of some kind. Raven said that this week on Pay Per View, it’s do or die for Sabu... this week on Pay Per View, Sabu will have to choose between honor and destiny... this week on Pay Per View, Sabu will either break his Uncle’s promise, or he will forfeit his dream of being the best... Raven said that either way, he gets something that he wants, because he’ll either get to fight Sabu, or he’ll be one step closer to fulfilling his destiny.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament

First Round Match

D’Lo Brown Vs The Alpha Male

-The two men locked up hard in the middle of the ring to begin the match. The Alpha Male pushed D’Lo into a turnbuckle, but D’Lo returned the favor, taking his opponent to a different turnbuckle. The two exchanged punches with Monty coming out on top. The Alpha Male hit a Belly To Belly Suplex, but D’Lo got back up and exploded with a big time Leg Lariat at The Alpha Male, followed up by a running Splash. D’Lo whipped the Alpha Male into the ropes, but Monty Brown nailed him with a Shoulderblock that sent him to the outside. The Alpha Male taunted the crowd, and then tried to pull D’Lo up, but D’Lo Brown caught him with a Guillotine across the top rope. Monty fell to the mat, and D’Lo took advantage, hitting a Springboard Moonsault from the second turnbuckle for a two count. The Alpha Male was furious with the ref for getting to two, but took it out on D’Lo, nailing him with a huge Lariat. D’Lo attempted a Hurricanrana, but The Alpha Male blocked it, and turned it into a huge Sitout Powerbomb for a two count. Monty Brown set up for a Running Powerslam, but D’Lo slid off his back. D’Lo Brown hit the ropes and went for a Lariat, but The Alpha Male ducked and hit the opposite ropes catching D’Lo hard with the Pounce! The Alpha Male exploded to his feet and screamed before hitting the mat again to pin D’Lo for the three count, and the right to advance to the Semi-Finals of the NWA Title Tournament.

I would have really liked to see D'Lo go over Monty because Monty is starting to turn into a Goldberg. Good show. My favorite segment would have to be the Sharkboy/Lazz vs. The Naturals match.

TNA News and Notes

July 3, 2004

-Slash and Sinn, the Disciples of the New Church, will be making their returns to TNA in the very near future. Both men have spoken with TNA officials over the past weeks about a return to the company, and management is said to be very pleased with their attitudes leading up to their returns. As of right now, there are plans for a James Mitchell return soon as well, but nobody knows whether or not Mitchell will be involved, in any way, with the New Church.

-D’Lo Brown was upset with management backstage at the Impact tapings when he found out that he would be putting over The Alpha Male. D’Lo was reportedly not upset that he was putting him over, but upset that the plans to put D’Lo over Monty Brown in the Title Tournament were changed at the last minute.

-The Alpha Male is looking at a huge push in the immediate future, as TNA has plans to make him their equivalent to WWE’s Brock Lesnar in the ring.

-TNA X division star Sonjay Dutt has entered himself into a rehab program after a close call with a near-overdose on heroin. Friends of Sonjay have stated that they didn’t know that he was a user, and encouraged him to seek help. Dutt was in a program with Sabu and Raven that has since been changed to push Sabu more as a loner instead of with Sonjay Dutt, who hopes to be back in a TNA ring as soon as possible.

-Speaking of Raven and Sabu, there seems to be a ripple in the storyline, as Sabu is set to take some time off soon. Word going around is that someone will be coming in to feud with Raven about Sabu, while the star is out healing injuries.

-Christopher Daniels will be returning to the ring on the August 4th Pay Per View. The Fallen Angel returns from injury in two weeks, but will be in Japan working for New Japan Pro Wrestling until August 2nd.

-Jonny Fairplay has been stirring up trouble backstage with his very open words. Fairplay even claimed that he was a better speaker than Bobby Heenan.

-TNA officials are again discussing the possibility of holding their “mega-PPV” Bound For Glory. New rumblings have surfaced about it being done in October or November. More news should be available on this as we get it.

-Starting this month, TNA PPV’s will no longer be available to DirecTV customers, but the show will now be airing on The Dish Network. No word on whether or not the two things are connected.

Very nice Gabriel, very well pretrayed version on TNA and just using the current storylines then developing stuff into your own is a good way to start I really like it. Also as another reader posted before push Hector Garza.

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Abyss Vs x

-The monster Abyss prepared for this mystery man on Impact by defeating Sonny Siaki in singles competition. Abyss has been on a role of late, but with the identity of his opponent unknown, and his upcoming match next week on Pay Per View against Erik Watts, one has to wonder just how prepared Abyss is for this match-up.

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Sabu Vs Raven

-It all comes to a head, this week on Pay Per View, when Sabu will be forced to do one of two things: either he will break his promise to his uncle, or he will forfeit his dream of being the NWA Champion. Will Raven's mind games pay off this week, or will they have lead to a new, more dangerous Sabu?

Contract Vs Contract

Jerry Lynn Vs Petey Williams

-Since their debut in TNA, Team Canada has taken a backseat to the shenanigans of their Coach, Scott D'Amore... but last week on PPV, Petey Williams spoke out and let his voice be heard, as he accepted a challenge from Jerry Lynn, on his Coach's behalf, to defend D'Amore's contract in a match that will see either Lynn or D'Amore leave TNA forever.

Double or Nothing

Siaki & Kenney Vs Gilberti & Swinger

-This week on PPV, the team of Johnny Swinger and Glenn Gilberti will try to redeem themselves as they attempt to defeat their rivals, "Samoan" Sonny Siaki and "Irish" Pat Kenney, to earn the right to take off their ridiculous costumes... however, if they lose again, they will be forced to wear the costumes for 90 extra days.

Dennis Rodman

-The Worm will be live on TNA PPV this week to accept Jonny Fairplay's recent "Celebrity Challenge", which he has been promoting over various Television appearances.

-Total Nonstop Action on PPV opened with a video montage showing The Alpha Male defeating D’Lo Brown on Impact to advance in the NWA Title tournament, and hyped tonight’s show, running down the lineup of matches, and ending with a look at the past stars of TNA, wondering who could possibly be coming in to face the monster Abyss in tonight’s main event.

Match 1:

Loser Leaves Town Match

Jerry Lynn Vs Petey Williams w/ Scott D’Amore

-This match stemmed from hatred between Lynn and D’Amore, and was brought about when Petey Williams spoke out for the first time, and accepted Lynn’s challenge on behalf of his Coach. Williams came out strong in the opening of the bout, going move for move with the veteran Jerry Lynn. Lynn caught Williams with a big time Lariat, and then worked on his neck a bit, softening him up for the Cradle Piledriver, but Petey caught onto the strategy, and slid out of the ring to regain his composure. Lynn dove through the ropes, but Williams moved out of the way, and Lynn collided hard with D’Amore. Williams pulled Lynn to his feet and shoved him back into the ring. Petey looked down at D’Amore, then just turned into the ring when he asked for help up. Petey sprung off the top rope with a huge Dropkick to Lynn’s chest, which scored a two count. Petey set up for the Canadian Destroyer, but Lynn backed up into a turnbuckle to avoid the move. Williams clubbed Lynn on the back, moved out a bit, and then sent Lynn hard into the turnbuckle with a Powerbomb. Williams covered, but Jerry managed to get his foot on the bottom rope. D’Amore offered the hockey stick to Petey, but he didn’t take it. D’Amore got angry, but Williams connected with a Brainbuster for a close two count. Petey told D’Amore to “watch how it’s done”, and he went up top, but was crotched on the top rope by Jerry Lynn, who then hit a big Superplex. Lynn covered, but wasn’t fast enough, as Williams threw up his shoulder just before three. Lynn tried for the Cradle Piledriver, but Petey blocked it and whipped Jerry into the ropes, where D’Amore cracked him on the back with the hockey stick. Lynn fell to the mat, and Williams grabbed the stick from D’Amore, removed the Canadian flag, and then broke the stick over his knee and threw the pieces at D’Amore. Petey picked up the flag and held it up in the air, but Lynn rolled him up from behind and picked up the three count, winning the match, and sending Scott D’Amore packing from TNA.

Winner: Jerry Lynn at 12:10

-A video aired hyping up the return of Low Ki last week. The package put over Ki’s past X Title reign and battles with Lynn and Styles, as well as his history with Elix Skipper and Christopher Daniels.

-Cut to backstage, where Jeff Jarrett ambushes Ron Killings from behind with a steel chair. Jarrett beat Killings down, and then swung the chair at an official. Jarrett said that nothing would stop him from reclaiming the title that he never lost. Double J tossed the chair at a wall, and then left laughing. The camera then panned down and zoomed in the bloody face of The Truth.

Match 2:

3 Live Kru (BG James and Konnan) Vs The Elite Guard

-The beginning of the match was dominated by the Elite Guard, who kept James from his corner with quick tags in and out. Using their power to their advantage, Collyer and Hernandez beat James to the point where he couldn’t get up on his own anymore. Hernandez tried for a Crucifix Bomb, but James fell off his back. Hernandez got frustrated and tagged Collyer in, but James caught him with an Inside Cradle for a two count, which Collyer rolled through on, in an attempt to apply the Texas Cloverleaf, but James kept rolling, and finally made the tag to Konnan. K-Dawg came in blazin’ with Rolling Clotheslines to both Hernandez and Collyer, followed by a Dropkick that sent Hernandez through the middle ropes. Collyer blocked a second Rolling Clothesline attempt and turned it into a Death Valley Driver, but BG James caught him with stiff left jabs to keep him from making the cover. Collyer blocked one and tried for another DVD, but Konnan tripped him. At this point, Jeff Jarrett ran in through the crowd with a guitar in hand, slid into the ring and busted it over James’ head. Konnan tried to get up, but Jarrett drove the guitar handle hard into his neck. The former Champion and his Elite Guard then proceeded to hand out an ass-whoopin’ until NWA Officials, led by Dusty Rhodes, chased them away.

Winners: 3 Live Kru by DQ

-We go backstage to see Scott Hudson with The Alpha Male, who grabs the mic from Hudson and tells him never to look a wild animal in the eyes, because it enrages them. The Alpha Male chased Hudson off, and then came back to say that his opponent next week, would be the next in line to FEEL THE POUNCE!~

Round 1 Match

Sabu Vs Raven

-Raven slapped Sabu and then shoved him hard into the corner. Sabu just stood there and took a beating at the hands of Raven, who eventually just backed off. Sabu stood up and moved out of the corner. Raven slapped him again, but this time, Sabu just walked away, leaving the ring, and exiting the arena as the referee awarded the bout to Raven.

Winner: Raven via Count-Out

-We then go to a pre-taped segment of AJ Styles threatening Jeff Hardy. He says that if Hardy messes up next week, it’ll be the last time he does it in TNA.

61%

-The picture then moves to the Naturals talking about how great it feels to have the NWA World Tag Team Titles around their waists. Andy Douglas laughed and told Chase Stevens that they’ve owned AMW since coming in, but just as he did, the two were attacked from behind by America’s Most Wanted, who took the fight out through the entrance and into the ring. Harris caught Stevens with a big Spear, and then the Tag Team Champions hit the Death Sentence on Douglas. Storm grabbed Douglas’ belt from him, but Harris couldn’t grab the other one, as Chase Stevens slid out of the ring and pulled his partner out with him.

Match 4:

Double Or Nothing High Stakes Match

Siaki & Kenney Vs Gilberti & Swinger

-Gilberti and Swinger dominated the early part of the match by taking advantage of Sonny Siaki’s sore back, after his match with Abyss on Impact last week, but a slip up on the part of Swinger, who stopped to fix his coconut bra, allowed Siaki to connect with a Flipping Swinging Neckbreaker. Siaki managed to make the tag to his partner, and the luck of the Irish took over as Kenney cleaned house. Kenney set up for an Inverted DDT on Swinger, but Gilberti set up Kenney for a Neckbreaker, and dropped, connecting with the Neckbreaker, but also sending Swinger hard into the mat with the Inverted DDT. Gilberti tagged himself in and went to work on Kenney with lefts and rights, before trying for another Neckbreaker, only to have it countered into a Backslide for a two count. Kenney took Gilberti down with a Lariat, and then tagged in Siaki. Siaki set up for the Siakalypse, but Trinity came down the entrance ramp and distracted the ref. The ref didn’t fall for it though, as he quickly turned his attention back to the match. Gilberti blocked the Siakalypse, but Siaki nailed him with a knee to the gut, and then drove him hard into the mat with the Siakalypse Now. Siaki covered, but Trinity pulled the ref out of the ring. The ref argued with Trinity, and then escorted her to the back, which allowed Vito LoGrasso to run in and drop Kenney with a Powerbomb onto the mats outside the ring. Siaki saw what was happening and dove through the ropes onto Vito, but Sonny got banged up pretty bad as he hit the guard rail, which allowed Swinger to roll him into the ring, and Gilberti to cover him for the three count, winning the match, and splitting the team of Siaki and Kenney, effective immediately.

Winners: Gilberti & Swinger at 9:47

64 / 80 / 72%

-Cut to a video of the past guests of TNA, featuring Toby Keith, among others, and ending with Jonny Fairplay coming on the screen and laughing a maniacal laugh as he says that the man who answered his Celebrity Challenge calls himself a Worm.

Dennis Rodman made his way out of the crowd and stepped into the ring, holding a mic with him. Rodman said that he was here tonight, because he watched Survivor, and he watched what that “piece of crap”, Fairplay did to the other contestants, and he thinks it was disgusting. Rodman then said that it’s one thing to make your name by being different...and that it’s a completely different thing to make your name by being an asshole. Fairplay came out to defend his name, and even slapped Rodman, but The Worm pulled back and then absolutely cuffed him with a big time right hand, that sent Fairplay running to the back before he even got in one word. The fans cheered big time for Dennis Rodman, who posed in the ring as fans took pictures.

-A video then played of Apolo’s stint as El Leon, and then showed him working out, and ended with the words: “He’s Coming Back...and this time, he’s on the hunt.”

Match 5:

NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament

First Round

Abyss w/ Goldilocks Vs ? ? ? ? ?

-Abyss waited anxiously in the ring as a video started on the big screen, showing clips of many past (Malice, Slash) and present (Jarrett, Killings) TNA stars tapping the mat violently. The video then went rapid fire back and forth through the footage, as it panned out to reveal Ken Shamrock forcing the submissions with his Ankle Lock hold.

Abyss was quick on the attack as Ken Shamrock stormed the ring, but the Ultimate Fighter took the monster down to the mat, and within the first minute of the bout, had him locked in a Leg Submission, but Abyss’ size came into play as he easily outstretched his arm to reach the bottom rope and force the hold to be broken. Abyss came back strong, but after a quick burst of hard blows to Shamrock’s back, the former Champion retaliated with swift kicks to the back of Abyss’ knee, and then tried desperately to apply another leg submission, but Abyss blocked all attempts, and managed to catch Shamrock with a clubbing Lariat-esque blow to the chest. Shamrock battled back, and managed to hit a Leg Lariat, but Abyss didn’t go down. Shamrock hit the ropes, and was almost caught with the Black Hole Slam, but took advantage of Abyss’ loose grip on the hold, and managed to apply an Armbar. Abyss screamed in pain as Goldilocks yelled for him to get the ropes. Abyss couldn’t reach the ropes, but managed to pull Shamrock up with his one arm, off the canvas, and then drove him hard back into the mat. Abyss got Shamrock up in a Torture Rack, and then dropped down into a Sitout Backbreaker of sorts, a move called the Fallout, but Shamrock threw his shoulder up at two, surprising both Abyss and the fans. Abyss pulled Shamrock to his feet and whipped him into the turnbuckle. Abyss charged in with an Avalanche, but Shamrock moved and Abyss hit hard. Goldie grabbed Ken’s leg, and Shamrock stood up on the second turnbuckle so he could reach over and grab her hair, but Abyss clubbed him on the back. The monster went to the outside, then climbed up the turnbuckle, and grabbed Shamrock hard around his throat. It looked like Abyss was set up for a Chokeslam off the top rope, but Shamrock caught him hard in the jaw with three straight elbow shots, and then stood on the top rope with Abyss, wrapped his arms around the big man, and then delivered an enormous Belly-to-Belly Suplex, off the top rope! Shamrock crawled onto Abyss’ prone body, and covered the behemoth for the three count. Goldilocks was distraught, absolutely broken that Abyss had lost, as she screamed things outside of the ring, not at Abyss or anybody else...just, screamed. The show went off the air with Shamrock clutching onto this right shoulder as medics came out and Vince Russo stood at the top of the ramp.

Winner: Ken Shamrock at 14:36

Good stuff in this diary, realistic (which always gets a massive plus point from me in TNA diaries) and I am really enjoying the continuation of the storylines that you have going. Really enjoyed reading this week's show and I liked how Sabu refused to fight and the debut of Shamrock against Abyss. Looking forward to the next show.

Nice solid TNA diary which you don't find much of these days. I am enjoying the continuation of storylines and I must say I was surprised with the Sabu vs. Raven match. The match I am looking forward to would have to be The Alpha Male vs Ken Shamrock which should be a great match.

Two Thumbs up dude.
