WCW 2005: Reborn & Reinvented

Recommended Posts

After hearing that EWBIII was open to get old diarys and what not, I thought what the hell, lets see if the ol' WCW 2005 diary is there, and indeed it was, hidden on page 15 of the diary dome. I have fresh inspiration for this now, so I'm gonna carry on from where i left it. The only problems really is that the original save game is gone, but I have on from 2004 of the same game, so I've edited it a little to get a similar roster to what i've got currently, nothing majorly different to my old one really, cept for certain overness and stats, but that can be worked on. :P Anyways, it's time to begin the painful process of the catch up posts!!

WCW 2005: Reborn & Reinvented

4th December 2005

Finally, the day had arrived. After years of negotiations, buying shares, lawsuits and everything in between, I had finally arrived to where i belong. I sat at my desk, wondering if I was dreaming, wondering when I was going to wake up, but the fact was, I couldn't wake up and I didn't want to, this was reality. Nobody could or would believe it would ever return, but it has. No one expected someone to turn their back on the 2 biggest wrestling companies in the world AND challenge Vince McMahon and win. I was seen as a legend, as a hero, but I'm just a man, a man with a vision, a man trying to write the wrongs which Vince did which almost destroy some many lives, so many careers, so many dreams. Before we go any further, let me tell how I got here, from booker, to Owner of the new WCW.....

Several excerts from "The Diary of Kris Smith"

12th June 2003

After much job hunting and asking around promotions, I was finally given a spot on the Senior Writing Team for NWA:TNA. They're not as big as my last employer WWE, but hey, I'll be a Senior Writer here not like that Junior Booking Job on Velocity I had. The money isn't as good but TNA are going places, I can feel it. They're putting wrestlers to good use which WWE used as mediocre mid carders. I'm on a 12 month contract, so I'm gonna work my ass off in this job.

15 July 2004

After almost being here a year, I've been promoted to Head Writer & Booker for TNA!! Vince Russo walked out after a clash of ideas with me and the team, and I've been asked to take over. We've just started broadcasting our shows globally and now the heat is on, we're gonna be competing with WWE soon and I know we can put up a challenge against them. The WWE is starting to lose it's grip on wrestling, their storylines are getting out of control and well some of them have been done before. We've approached several of their wrestlers who are anxious for a new challenge and well, a better job. Apprantly morale their now is at a major low. Our Champion, Brock Lesnar told me how bad it was when he was last their in January, so I can't imagine how bad it is now. But anyway, that really isn't our concern, we've gotta keep at the job at hand, keep working at it, and hopefully be on the same par as WWE, and then hopefully surpass them!!

2nd January 2005

Well it's official, we're now being ranked the No.1 Company in the World!! Although we've not letting it go to our heads, the battle with WWE is still on and I expect it to carry on for quit a long time. Sadly, even with this promotion war going on, a lot of federations are still dying due to bad crowd numbers, etc. At the moment theres only 11 Federations still in business!! I just hope the outcome of this war helps wrestling on the whole not just the demise of the losing federation. Jerry has been talking about bringing in a new co-booker & writer to help me and the team, but I don't think we need it, we're doing fine. Apparantly it's a old face, changing his ways for the better of the company, well I hope he's got a team-like attitude....

6th January 2005

VINCE RUSSO!! I can't believe it! Jerry has brought him back? At the moment, I feel betrayed, it was me who helped push TNA to the top, not Russo. Why should I have to work with him? I helped build this team, we don't need anyone else, we've got great ideas that work well with the wrestlers. It's not that he's a great writer, but I just don't trust the guy, after the WWF/WCW thing, he helped destroy a company who challenged WWE, and he could do it again. I hope this doesn't change much within the team and the company.

30th January 2005

Well, it seems I spoke to soon. Today I recieved word that I am to be demoted to the writing team whilst Russo is given full power as Head Booker & Writer for NWA:TNA. I'm not surprised really, I should have seen it coming, but I'm not worrying, I have a back up plan which is going into action as I speak. Lets just say I've now taken a major interest in the stock market.

14th February 2005

It has now begun. Todays headline in the finance section is music to my ears:

Stock Holders Challenge McMahon?

"A consortium of stock holders have grouped together to purchase the copyright and all properties of World Championship Wrestling from the owner of WWE, Vincent K McMahon. Mr McMahon is said to be interested in the offer as the offer is well above what he paid for the just the copyright laws several years ago. No wrestling contracts are said to be included in this deal but this is still said to be a rumour but we will inform you of any further devlopments."

25th April 2005

Today has been the greatest day of my life, not only have I won more money than I could ever imagine but.... well, read these headlines:

Employee sues Employer for $200 Million!!

"An unamed employee of wrestling company NWA:TNA has sued the company for unfair demotion and unfair dismissal for just over $200 million!! The lawsuit which was filed in February had a rather quick hearing and the wrestling giants had no evidence to help their defence. The employee has won the compensation and has also been offered his job back!! It is unknown whether the employee has excepted his job again but I'm sure he'd much rather retire with his healthy amount of compensation!"

WWE sell Copyrights to Stock Holders Collective

"Also in wrestling related news, World Wrestling Entertainment Owner, Vincent McMahon has sold all copyrights and properties of World Championship Wrestling to a collective of Stock Holders who owned Stocks in WWE. The deal, reported to be around $80 million which includes the 38% stock the holders had in the company, is almost 3 times the price Mr McMahon paid for the copyrights back in 2001k, however the overall price including wrestlers contracts was much more. No wrestlers contracts we're included in this deal, which is why the deal was allowed by Mr McMahon."

12th June 2005

It's been 2 years since I was hired by the TNA, and today, marks the day that I quit this job for good. Yeh, the guy in the headlines was me. Yes, I did win over 200 million dollars. Yes, I did take my job back as part of the writing team. And yes, I am the stock holders conllective who bought WCW, but no one knows that yet. The reason I came back to TNA is simple, both WWE & TNA have screwed me in the past now, but now it's time to play them at their own game, I have the capital behind me, I have the company ready, I even have some staff, but now all I need is the wrestlers. TNA has some of the best, I should know, I signed them, some of them have become some of my best friends, I've never been one of those high and mighty staff members, who keeps a tight divide on staff and wrestlers like Russo does. I'm trusted by the wrestlers, and I trust them, so who better to join my new company, than my friends? I've been asking around if anyone is interested and I've had an alarming reply of answers. Morale is pretty low here since Russo has been back at the helm, and a lot of people want out. I've got an idea on how to get them out and into WCW, but it's gonna take some planning.

20th June 2005

I've organised a tentative release for the first WCW PPV in over 4 years. I'm gonna be using the old names, so Greed has been announced as the first PPV, happening on what better day than, December 25th!! No wrestlers have been announced yet, although the majority of my guys from TNA have no been released due to my "paper work" which was released forms signed by Vince Russo himself. The one thing I noticed about Russo, he's not too good with paperwork, he just signs whatever is in front of him, and well he did. All the guys are now signed to WCW and no lawsuit can be filed against and they were released and signed legitimately.

1st September 2005

The last few months I've been busy sorting out all the admin work, everyone is ready to go, everyone is signed, theres only one thing left to do now, announced who the stock collective actually are......

31st October 2005

Well, tonight was Halloween and I gave the wrestling world the biggest scare of them all, by announcing who the stock collective was, and who the owner of WCW now is, me. I've heard reports of the reactions from both the WWE & TNA camps and they don't seem to happy, especially the 2 owners. Well now it's set, the war will rage on, and the only thing I'm looking for is.... revenge.

To the future....

Everything was now set. The press we're going crazy with the news of a new WCW. Vince McMahon & Jerry Jarrett had released similar statements towards the new WCW. Making claims about how I went behind there backs and betray them both, I ignored both statements. To me, their words mean nothing, and so does there trust, they screwed me other, so now it's time for payback at every possible level. I want them destroyed, bankrupt, whatever means necessary. Its amazing how much I've changed in 2 years, from that unemployed booker looking for any type of job, to the owner of WCW!! As much as I'm down to earth with the guys in the locker room, I've became a ruthless business man, wanting victory by any means necessary, and I'll get it one way or another.

The press are expecting some type of press pack from me, but I'm not going to bother. I want a certain amount of anticipation for the rebirth of WCW, and so the only thing I'm going to release is the matches that myself and the booking team have booked for WCW Greed. The full roster will not be revealed as to give an element of surprise to who will be appearing once we get more coverage in the US. The only information I can really release except for the PPV Card is that, don't expect an old school WCW, the original WCW died along with that final match between Sting & Ric Flair, and is dead and buried. I will bring back some factors of the original WCW, but this is my creation, a creation for the future that will destroy WWE like the nWo almost did all those years ago. And it will also prove Jarrett wrong, he shouldn't have lost faith in me for his beloved Vince Russo. The war has begun, and the reason for this war is represented in our PPV..... Greed.

One day to go....

I travelled to Panama City the day before to make sure everything was running smoothly in the build up for Greed. We decided to have the PPV at the very same venue where Flair & Sting had the last ever WCW match back in March 2001. I did this to show everyone that were the old WCW died, a new style WCW will be born in it's very same place.

From early ticket sales, we knew this was going to be a very healthy turn out, I doubt it'd be sold out, but I hoped it would. It seems that people want to see WCW or maybe they're just interested to watch the show and boo us off stage. I know one thing is for sure, we'll make a better WCW Product than Vince ever did with his Invasion angle. He wasted the product and many of the wrestlers, but thats something I'm not gonna do. I've been speaking with some old friends within WWE, and apparantly at lot of the old WCW Wrestlers, mainly the talented ones, are interested in leaving and they're contracts are almost up, I think I'll be making some advanced offers on a few people in the future.

The only problem with tomorrow is one match. It seems the Street Fight between Johnny The Bull & Tank Abbott is a no go. Tank broke his hand on his last event in UFC and there's no way he can compete. So, with a little quick thinking, I've decided that what better to have, than a Christmas Brawl!! Bring a little bit of festive cheers into the PPV, it'll be great. Business shouldn't always be cold hearted, business deals and what not, well especially not me, I'm still just a guy, who owns a company....

Good to see you reposting this Fizzle, I'd only read the backstory before, I'm glad for a chance to read the rest. I'd always wanted to read this, but since EWBIII went down, I thought I missed my chance, so I'm here of my own volition, having found the diary myself, and not being told about it whatsoever.

(A 10 minute video promo is played of old WCW Events. It shows clips from the nWo invasion, to the end of WCW in 2001, the WCW/WWF invasion and finally the Suvivor Series Match which finally put WCW to rest. It then shows a graphics promo of the new WCW and this PPV, Greed. A rundown of tonight's matches are shown then we are taken live to Panama City, OH, for the PPV!!)

Overall Rating: 85%

WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship

The Briscoe Boys Vs Air Paris & Chavo Grandes Vs Jose Maximo & Kaz Hayashi

The new WCW starts off with a unique part of the old WCW. The former Cruiserweight Tag Titles are re-activated and are put on the line in a 3 way tag ladder match!! Only 2 members of this match aer returning WCW wrestlers, the rest are new debuts to the WCW ranks and they all put on one hell of a show. It seemed Mark Briscoe had won the title for himself and his brother on their debut early on the the match but a dropkick to the ladder put Mark out of commishion for the remainder of the match. It was Air Paris who eventually won the title for himself and former TNA Wrestler, Chavo Grandes, after an amazing dive from a ladder in the corner of the ring onto the giant cable holding the titles.

Winners & new Cruiserweight Tag Champs: Air Paris & Chavo Grandes

Sonny Siaki Vs Masada

These 2 former TNA Wrestlers put on a superb display of technical and high flying ability in this match. Before the match, both men came down to the ring with their replica TNA X Divison Championships and lay them on the mat. Siaki got on the mic and began damning TNA to hell and he said this is what he and Masada thought of TNA now, and with that, both men with sledgehammers smashed the crap out of their X Titles!!! What Masada didn't see coming though was straight after the smashing of the titles, Siaki started the match with a sledgehammer to Masada's stomach!! Siaki dominated the majority of the match after knocking the wind out of Masada. Masada gained some offensive and almost had the match won when he went for the Masadamizer, but Siaki reversed it into a role up and a handful of tights to get the win. Siaki made a quick exit but was soon persued by a rather angry Masada.

Winner: Sonny Siaki

(Santa Claus is seen coming down to the ring with a jack sack of new WCW merchandise. He starts throwing shirts and hats into the crowd when suddenly, Kurrgan runs down the ramp and attacks him!! Kurrgan starts laying into Santa and hits him with a Pump Handle Slam!! Kurrgan starts to celebrate much to the displeasure of the crowd, and then Santa sits up and rips off his jacket to reveal a Johnny The Bull t-shirt!!! Santa pulls off the beard and hat to reveal himself as The Bull! As Kurrgan climbs down from a turnbuckle he turns around and walks right into a corner to corner Clothesline from Hell!! The Bull leaves a winded and wounded Kurrgan down on the mat as he finishes off giving out presents to the crowd.)

Overall Rating: 55%

WCW United States Championship

Mike Awesome Vs Kevin Martel

It was power vs speed in this match and it was clear from the start how had the advantage. Mike Awesome used his size and power to throw Martel all over the ring. Awesome's monster like size and strength seems to have vastly improved since his exited from the WCW Invasion in WWF. Martel eventually got some offensive by working on Awesome's knee and keeping him on the mat with several holds and submissions to give him a chance of victory. AWesome seemed unaffected by the hold and once again continued to beat down on Martel. Awesome's powerful and erratic fighting took it's toll even on ref, who was taken out by Awesome's impressive irish whip which knocked Martel into the ref. After that, he set up Martel for an Awesome Bomb, but a member from the crowd interfered with a boot to Awesome's frank and beans!! Awesome hit the mat, and the man made Martel cover Awesome whilst he revived the ref, to count Martel as the winner and the new United States Champion on his WCW debut!!! As the man made his exit, he removed his wig and beard to reveal himself as Shawn Stasiak!!!

Winner and new United States Champion: Kevin Martel

(One of WCW new debuting wrestlers, Christopher Daniels, is interviewed by WCW's new interviewer, Dean Malenko.)

DM: Christopher Daniels, you've been given the greatest debuting match a wrestler could possible ask for, a shot at the World Title!! What are you're thoughts going into this match?

CD: Well Dean, I'm pretty calm about going into this match as it's like I never left the TNA ring for this job. I was World Champion when my contract was "cancelled" from TNA and I was set to face Corino at the next PPV for my title, so I'm not seeing this as anything different, infact, the only difference to me is, it's just 3 different initials and when I win, it'll just be another title to add to my long list as the greatest wrestler of all time. Now, if you don't mind I've gotta go warm up to kick Corino's ass......

DM: Well, there you go, Daniels is seeing this match as just another day at the office, I wonder if Corino feels the same way? The only we'll find out is by checking out the main event!!

Overall Rating: 93%

Chavo Guerrero / Frankie Kazarian / Shane Helms

Vs

Shelton Benjamin / Charlie Haas / American Dragon

Great pops for the returning WCW wrestlers, Chavo Guerrero & Shane Helms. And some great heat for the legitimate athlete trio of Haas, Benjamin & Dragon. Some superb blends of technical & high flying moves in this match as all 6 members have been trained so well at either the Power Plant, OVW or The Asylum at TNA. Haas & Benjamin carried on their cheating ways from WWE & for short time in TNA, and it seemed to work. Benjamin ran interference with the ref which was enough for Dragon to clean house with a steel chair!! With Chavo out cold in the ring, Haas locks in the Haas of Pain whilst Dragon gets out of the ring and Benjamin lets the ref class Chavo as unconcious giving them the win!!!

Winners: Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas & American Dragon

CM Punk Vs Ron Killings

Before hand, WCW Owner Kris Smith announces this is for a shot at the WCW World Championship at the next WCW Event!! CM Punk comes out first but is soon attacked from behind by Ron Killings who immediately gets down to business and throws Punk in the ring to start the match. Punk doesn't have a chance to get offensive for the first few minutes as Killings attempts to get a quick win. However, Punk isn't that easy to beat and soon unloads lefts and right at Killings backing him into a corner and giving him the 10 punch special (old skool!). CM Punk delivers a vast array of high flying, high impact attacks on Killings which takes it out of him. Killing's gets several close reversal pins on Punk, which almost got him the win. Punk eventually got the win with the Pepsi Plunge.

Winner: CM Punk

WCW World Championship

Steve Corino Vs Christopher Daniels

A massive fire display went off before the match. And the crowd went crazy as both men came out. Advantage kept going between the pair as they slugged it out for several minutes. Eventually Daniels took the advantage and gave Corino and long beating, mainly using arm and leg locks to keep him down. Daniels went for a body avalanche onto Corino, who seemed to pull something out of his tights and hit Daniels in the chest with, it was revealed to be brass knuckles!! With that attack, the match started going in Corino's favour, Corino bent ever rule in the book to get the advantage and after a while his fury almost turned on the referee!! Daniels somehow got back into the match and attempted to hit the Broken Halo, however, Corino and his brass knuckles struck once again, into the spine of Daniels, which took him out for good. Daniels struggled to get up on his own and was helped up by Corino, only to hit the mat again with the The Old Skool Expulsion!! Corino got the pin and the Championship as EMT's ran down to Daniel's aid.

The morning after the night before....

As I sit here, reading the wrestling headlines on the net. It seems reviewers saw our PPV as a failure, but I see it differently. In all the reviews I've read this morning, not one has complained about the matches, or the storylines. Their only problem was the turn out, just over 5000. For a company who's been gone for almost 5 years, I think 5000 showing up to a PPV on Christmas Day was pretty darn good. The fans who we're there had a ball, and enjoyed it from what I saw, and from that they'll tell their friends, etc, etc, and well, lets just say I expect a much better turn out for the next show we put on.

The show on a whole went great, the fans seem to enjoy this new style of product compared to the old WCW. Everyone backstage was on a high and so was I, it's a really positive start to what I hope to be a very positive future. The guys who wrestled last night worked their asses off and I can't thank them more, I just can't wait to show the crowd the rest of our guys, and their potential. Several more guys got in contact with me this morning after watching the show last night, and put it this way, they're in WWE, and they want out. It seems keeping true to the wrestling fans is what wrestlers want these days and I'll gladly do that as not only am I an Owner, but I too am also a fan, whereas Jerry & Vince, they're just businessmen, nothing more, nothing less. They don't have the same outlook as me.

Although at the moment, they do have the advantage, they have the power of TV. Whereas the best I can do at the moment I organise a show on PPV every month or so, although we've got some ideas to hold a weekly PPV from next year until we can get a deal tied down with one of the Primetime channels. The primtime channels are a little sceptical at the moment at the thought of a new WCW, they aren't expecting it too last long with me at the helm, but I hope to show them otherwise, and when I do, then the real battle with WWE & TNA can begin.

So, now it's time for a short holiday season for the staff and wrestlers, whilst I plan the next show and get down to business. See you in 2006...

Another year, another top 100....

Well, it's the second week in January now and everyone has had a nice 2 week holiday. We're back to business now and I've got a few announcements...

Today I received an email from our net staff showing the official top 100 wrestlers of the year, and I must say I was surprised. In the top 10, TNA had 4 wrestlers, WCW had 4 and the WWE scrapped in with 2, ROH also had 1 man in their whom is also contracted to us. The majority of our wrestlers got into the top 100 mainly from bookings in TNA before they left to join us. It does indeed seem that WWE is losing it's grip on the wrestling world, whereas the likes of WLW & BCW are now creeping into the Global Corporation fray. I hope they can survive against the 2 big boys, because I know they're gonna have one hell of a time when we go global. Anyways here's the top 20, from the top 100:

TOP 20 of 2005

1. Christopher Daniels (WCW)

2. CM Punk (WCW \ ROH)

3. Chris Jericho (WWE)

4. AJ Styles (NWATNA)

5. Sonny Siaki (WCW)

6. Low-Ki (NWATNA)

7. TAKA Michinoku (NWATNA)

8. Nova (NWATNA)

9. Kurt Angle (WWE)

10. Ron Killings (WCW)

11. Christian (WWE)

12. James Storm (NWATNA)

13. Shane Helms (WCW)

14. Jerry Lynn (NWATNA)

15. Juventud Guerrera (NWATNA)

16. Donovan Morgan (WLW)

17. Kevin Martel (WCW)

18. Chavo Guerrero Jr (WCW)

19. Christian York (WLW)

20. Jaime Noble (NWATNA)

Ok, with that out of the way, I've got some other interesting news. Tank Abbott is really pushing my patience. Seems that his broken hand, wasn't broken. Just a few chipped bones, so they've been removed, and he "was" ready to wrestler again last week, but now the dumb bastard has a landed awkwardly on his back after screwing up an powerbomb off Awesome in training and now he's gotta take at least another 3 weeks off to rest!! The guy is gonna get no TV time for a few months now after this, honestly he worse than Batista for injuring himself.

I think I've finalised the card for this month's PPV, which will be Souled Out. All the titles will be on the line, and I'm even bringing back the TV Title for the lower carders, it'll give them something to fight for, and it doesn't put them to waste like Vince does. The main event should be great, and the pre-main event match should be an amazing warm up match to really get the crowd going. We're saving the card announcement till next week, and then we'll be having the PPV at the end of the month on January 31st.

Next week, we'll also be announcing a weekly PPV show in February, much like what TNA did in the early days. It'll give us better national coverage, a good revenue and it'll almost be like a weekly TV show, but much better!! The PPV is tentatively being called "Nitro" in respect of the former Monday Night TV show, once we get some TV offers, the PPV show name will be transfered back to the Monday Night show, I'm keeping somethings traditional. The only problem with this that I can see is that TNA may have a problem with it due to their Monday Night show being called "Nitro TV" however, I own the rights to "Nitro" so screw them.

Well, it's time for me to make some bookings and call the news crews etc for our announcement next week. So until then, goodbye.

Have we 'Souled Out'?

Well, the card is definately finalised, pending on injuries of course. I think the card it looking pretty good and theres going to be a few surprises at the even which I'm sure will get the crowd going. Only 10 days to go, and I'm sure it's going to be a positive start for 2006....

WCW Television Championship

Sonjay Dutt Vs Essa Guerrero Vs Alex Shane

A great opening match for the PPV, with Essa Guerrero & Sonjay Dutt's high flying esquepades highlighting the match. Shane couldn't seem to get into the match much, but when he did, his hard hitting technical attacks really brought a stop to the high flyers attacks as he kept them down on the mat, not up in the air. Eventually, it was "The Playa From Bombaya" who got the pin and the TV Championship after a superb Bomb-bay Splash on Alex Shane for the 3 count.

Street Fight

Shawn Stasiak Vs Mike Awesome

This match, requested by Awesome, brought a bit of the WCW old school to the new WCW. Both former WCW grapplers went at it, 110% and they went all over the arena!! Stasiak, utilizing every object around him as a weapon to fend off Awesome, didn't seem to be doing much damage at all! A chair to the knee brought Awesome down to earth for a short time, and from then on Stasiak worked on the weakened knee. A wild turn in fortune though gave Awesome the victory as he got into a electric cart and chased Stasiak around the back area, until Stasiak turned a corner and his face introduced to a metal pole, knocking him out cold!! Awesome got the pin, then powerslam Stasiak, upside down into a dumpster!!!

WCW Cruiserweight Tag Championship

Air Paris & Chavo Grandes Vs The Briscoe Boys

The Briscoe Boys had yet another chance to claim the Cruiser Tag gold tonight as they faced Paris & Grandes in their first Cruiser Tag Title defence! A good combination of speed and technical skill from both teams here made it a great match for all fans!! Once again Mark Bricoe had the chance to get the win for his team, but a distraction from Chavo gave Paris enough time to kick out. It was another distraction from Chavo, that gave Paris to give Jay Briscoe the Crash Landing onto a chair, to get the easy pin and their first Title Defence!!

Cage Match

Johnny The Bull Vs Kurrgan

A follow up to the Christmas Attack of these two, brought a brutal cage match. They we're like to caged animals as they beat the living crap out of each other. The Bull's strength was impressive against Kurrgan, as he began to Gorilla Press him above his chest before turning it into an F5!! Kurrgan gained an advantage in the match after spraying what seemed to be a black liquid into The Bull's eyes. The Bull received a servere beating from Kurrgan, until the Bull started to see Red!! His eyes, red raw from the black liquid, didn't seem to affect him as he "Hulked Up" or "See Red" as he calls it. The beating of Kurrgan was followed up by the corner to corner clothesline which he has tentatively named "The Bull Charge!". Afterwards, The Bull began to celebrate his win, without seeing Kurrgan get back up. A chair to the back of The Bull's head, took him out and Kurrgan followed that up with a chokeslam through the announcers table!!

Kevin Martel Vs Ken Shamrock

Ken Shamrock was making his WCW debut tonight, claiming that he should actually be in Madison Square Garden, fighting his final match for WWE. But he told to shove it!! The cocky Martel, made his way to the ring, claiming he won his title fair and square and didn't need and help winning, and tonight, he'll prove that again. It seems Martel's words, weren't as true as he preached, as he received a beating at the hands of Shamrock, and the only way he could get back into the match, was by cheating his way through. However, justice prevailed in the end and Martel's mistake cost him the match, as he ran at Shamrock with brass knuckles, a perfectly executed take down into Ankle Lock, got Shamrock the win and the United States Championship!!

An all star affair for this superb 4 Corners match featuring 3 of TNA former Superstars and a certain Chris Kanyon, fresh from WWE!! Kanyon seems to have lost his comedy edge from WWE, and looked all business tonight as he delivered a stern beating to all the competitors. However, in the end, all the competitors we're very evenly matched, with the best of the match coming from Daniels & Kazarian in the ring. In the end though it was Killings who got the win, after pinning Daniels with a handful of tights. And whilst celebrating, he experienced, first hand, his first ever, Flatliner!! from Chris Kanyon, who played to the crowd!

CM Punk Vs Steve Corino

Flair came out first to a great responce, followed by the challenger and then the Champion. Flair reffed the match completely down the line which made for a great match. Punk's youth and fitness, seemed to give him the slight edge on the Champion, however, Corino's experience and skill helpe him out a great deal. After a while, everytime Punk went for the pin, it seemed Flair kept making excuses of a pain in his arm. Then as Punk complained to Flair, it gave Corino enough time to hit Punk with the Pepsi Plunge!!! As he pinned Punk, Flair gave a lightning quick 3 count for Corino to retain the Championship!! After the match, Flair and Corino shook hands, but neither saw the attack coming from Punk as he superkicked Flair in the face!! Corino was quick enough to grab his title and run and leave Flair in the ring getting a beating from Punk as the PPV ended.

The morning after the year before...

Well, last night, the first WCW PPV of 2006 went down. And I must say, I personally think it went great. Both our audience attendance buy rates where up, so slowly but steadily, people are regaining interest in us. It's gonna be a long and hard road to walk to try and regain the WCW fans after they were left abandoned all those years ago when McMahon finally put out the light on WCW. With that move alone, he lost half of the wrestling fans of that time, and it was only through the rise of TNA that a new generation of fans made it popular once again.

Injuries were minimal last night. Johnny The Bull complained of a bit of back pain from the chokeslam by Kurrgan. But that was the worst of the complaints. I think everyone put on a great show last night, and I think the re-appearance of Mr Flair has certainly brought that old school WCW factor back for us.

We'll be starting our weekly PPV program in 2 weeks time, and hopes are high for the show. It'll give us the coverage we need and should help us to tie down a primetime tv show. The other advantage of the weekly ppv model, is that we can being some storylines as the monthly gaps for our usual ppv model, made it hard to keep a storyline together with such a long gap.

We should have a card prepared next week for the first Nitro in 2 weeks, and I'm sure we'll spare no expense on it, it will be a PPV after all, and so titles will be on the line, everything will be at stake!!

Nitro Returns!!

Next week marks the return of WCW's flag ship show, WCW Nitro!!! The new look Nitro will only be available on PPV, but it looks like it's gonna be one hell of an opening show!!

Last week, WCW Champion, Steve Corino retained his title with help from the returning Ric Flair at WCW Souled Out. However, at the end of the match, a very angry loser, CM Punk, attacked both men, but Corino left like a shot as Flair got the crap beaten out of him!! Tonight, all 3 men will be attendance, however, will Flair & Corino's temporary alliance at Souled Out still remain at Nitro? Or will Flair be wanting revenge against the man he helped retain the title against?

WCW Owner, Kris Smith, has booked some great matches for the first Nitro in 5 years. All the titles will be on the line tonight, however, Corino doesn't yet know who he'll be facing in a cage match!! The only way to find out, is to tune in next Friday, for Nitro!! Only on PPV!!

WCW Television Championship

Sonjay Dutt Vs Kaz Hayashi Vs Colt Cabana

The first Nitro of the year starts off with a great match. Hayashi takes control early on in the match but is soon double teamed by his opponents. After quite a beating, Hayashi is thrown outside whilst Cabana turns on Dutt and starts to work on him. Dutt seems to one step ahead of Cabana most of the time and is almost playing with him. He carries on playing with him but doesn't notice Hayashi coming towards him with a top rop drop kick to the back of the head and is soon on the mat being worked on by the masked Japanese star. Hayashi went to end the match with the Hayashima Bomb, but was speared in mid air by Cabana!! And as Cabana got up, he got a handful of the "Bombay Mix" dust in the eyes, which gave Dutt the match, the retaining title, and an even bigger ego!!

John Heindereich Vs Mike Awesome

These two massive powerhouses put on one hell of a brawlfest in this match. Heindereich's youth and amazing agility gave him an advantage against Awesome, however his experience did give him that extra edge to Heidereich's arsenal. Heindereich's pure strength put him in the driving seat however as he overpowered Awesome and threw him around the ring like he was a lightweight!! Half way through the match, Heindereich almost seemed to change personality and started to ask Awesome if he was ok whilst he was down on the mat. Awesome used this to make and attack Heindereich. Awesome gave a thorough beating to the caring Heindereich, who once again seemed to change personality and became demonic and violently demolished Awesome, hitting him with 3 Chokebombs for the finish.

WCW Cruiser Tag Championship

Air Paris & Chavo Grandes Vs Adam "Blue Blood" Windsor & Sean Casey

Windsor & Casey we're making their WCW debuts tonight, and they had a great chance to leave as Champions. Paris & Grandes in ring chemistry has been perfected in their short time as a team, and they currently seem indestructable. The Champions dominated the match, with Casey getting the only real offence for his team. Himself & Windsors debut nerves eventually got the better of them as a critical mistake by Windsor gave him Grandes signature move, the amazing "El Grandes Dos Terminas" which was easily enough for Grandes & Paris to retain their titles once again.

Haas & Benjamin Vs Chavo Guerrero & Johnny The Bull

The self proclaimed "Greatest Tag Team the World has Ever Seen©" came out before the match started, demanding that WCW Owner, Mr Smith, should create a heavyweight Tag Titles, so they can win them and be reigning champions for years to come. With that, The Bull & Guerrero made their way to the ring and got straight down to business. The Bull used his size to dominate Benjamin in the ring, but it wasn't long till Kurrgan made his way down to ring side. The presence of Kurrgan seemed to bother The Bull and with that he was making several bad mistakes. Eventually Chavo got in the ring and The Bull was pulled outside by Kurrgan and a brawl started, however, Benjamin joined in and it was now 2 on 1. The Bull was overpowered and was beaten badly. Back in the ring, Chavo was now on his own, and was losing to Haas. When he turned to make the hot tag, The Bull wasn't there! Haas continued his assault of Chavo, and hit the "Haas He Had Enough?" to get the win for himself & Benjamin. Afterwards, as Benjamin and Haas worked on a bloody Chavo. Kurrgan delivered another brutal chokeslame through an announce table on The Bull. And then Kurrgan powerbombed Chavo onto The Bull to leave the pair severely beaten.

WCW United States Championship

Ken Shamrock Vs Sonny Siaki

So far, in the last 2 United States Championship matches, we've had 2 new US Champions. Shamrock went out to make sure there wasn't a third in this match. His technical skill was matched and surpassed by Siaki, who spent almost a year at The Asylum perfecting his skills in all areas. Siaki mixed brawling, high flying & technical moves into an amazing assault which Shamrock was struggling to defend against. Siaki had Shamrock locked in the Ankle Lock for quite some time which Shamrock refused to tap against. The longer he held on the worse Shamrock's ankle got and that was shown after he released it. Shamrock, now with a severely weakened ankle was no doubt struggling in this match. The match however, was too end in a an unexpected way, with Shamrock retaining the US Championship. Thanks to a run in and messed up interference by former US Champion, Siaki got a chair shot to the head, and Shamrock dragged himself on top for the pin and to retain the title. Martel then entered the ring and began a beat down on Shamrock who tried to make an escape in his weakened state. However, he didn't need to as Siaki soon got up and kicked Martel's ass all the way to the backstage area!

CM Punk, Christopher Daniels & ?? Vs Ron Killings, Chris Kanyon & ??

Before the match, Smith announced that 2 new WCW employees would join the match to make it a 3 on 3 match. The man who would be joining Daniels & Punks team was, former WCW star, Bill DeMott!! And the man on Killings & Kanyon's team was, former WWE star, Al Snow!!! The 2 tag teams start the match off early as they're already in the ring as Snow & DeMott start brawling on the stage!! Daniels & Punk take the early advantage and using good team work whilst Snow & DeMott's encounter got rather hardcore as they tore the stage set apart and starting using it as weapons!! Daniels seemed to have the match won for his team fairly early on, but I run in sprear from Al Snow turned the tables on them. Snow showed a great sense of power and strength in the ring dominating his in ring time with his opponents however, it was a very aggravated Bill DeMott who was knocked out earlier by a chair shot from Snow that gave Snow the problems. DeMott tagged him self in and began to demolish Snow, with Snow down, DeMott attacked the others members and threw them to the outside. DeMott then set up Snow for a huge "Full Impact Sidewalk Slam" and got the pin for himself and the team on his debut!!

He hopes that tonights main event is a challenge for Corino, especially if his opponent lives up to his name. Smith says the bottom line is, Corino's has cheated his way to victory many times in his career, but how can he beat the master, how can he beat 'The Dirtiest Player in the Game'!!! Steve Corino Vs Ric Flair

Flair came out to an amazing pop despite the small crowd. He strutted around the ring for a few minutes before Corino's music hit and a very angry looking Champion made his way to the ring. Corino wasted no time and attacked Flair with the title still around his waist. The advantage kept going between both men, which seemed to surprised Corino being the younger and certainly a lot more in shape wrestler. Flair was pulling out all the stops against the Champion and had several near 3 kick outs, almost taking the title from Corino. It seemed Flair also lived upto his name of being the dirtiest player in the game, bending every rule to try and get an advantage on Corino. Corino eventually fought back and the men were once again evenly matched. Both men now exhausted, struggled to get back to their feet after a double clothesline on each other. It was Flair who was up first and who started to slowly attempt to climb out of the cage, Corino after getting up, made his way over to Flair and amazingly Razor's Edged him from the cage to the mat. Corino then got the pin to get the win in one hell of a World Title Match. Afterwards, Corino spat on Flair as he left the ring.

Nitro's fire put out....

"Nitro bombs on PPV", ""Flop-tro?", "WCW - We Can't Win", these are the headlines I've read the this morning after our less that great Nitro debut last night. It seems that our attendance was way below what we expected and our buyrate was ok, but not too good. Well it seems the attendance problem has been solved. It seems the finance department forgot to make the necessary adjustments to our ticket prices, which should have been brought down from $30 (usually price for our big PPV's) to $12, but the prices were left as they were so when the fans heard the prices, the majority of them declined to pay such high prices and so our attendance was rather mediocre. From next week however, the prices will definately be lowered to a much more affordable price. Hell, I know I wouldn't wanna pay $120 just to see 4 wrestling shows live a month. $48 is much more affordable.

Now, the wrestling last night was great, the main event was truely amazing and probably would have gotten a far bigger crowd reaction if the attendance was bigger. Flair put on one hell of a match for his first in ring match in 2 years and for his age, he certainly kept upto the same pace as Corino. Respect must go for Corino too, for putting on such a great match with such a veteran who's skills aren't as good as they once were. All the matches went great last night and I have no problems with any of the guys and I can only hope the next Nitro is much better.

All these headlines insulting us, is only fuel for our fire really. We won't give up, we won't back down, not until the last dollar is gone from this company will I give up. I will take WCW back to the former glory it had and I will risk anything and everything for it. Keep the headlines coming I say, it'll just make it that little bit sweeter when we prove you all wrong.....

But now you've ruined the surprise and my build up speech you idiots!! You two are in the first match against Wenzel & Molsoon. Corino enters first and says he wants to prove once again how great a champion he is. So he is putting his title on the line in this match!!

Punk seem more determined than ever to win this match and sure did show it as he went all out early on. Punk didn't seem to run out of energy, but Corino looked like he was only running on half a tank as the brutal cage match from last week took it out of him. Corino kept on fighting back, but was soon distracted as Flair walked out onto the stage. Flair had been wrestling in a charity match that night in another show across town and had just showed up for the match. Corino started to shout abuse at Flair which kept costing him valuable time as Punk kept fighting back with the time he was given to regain his focus. Corino eventually gave up shouting and Flair and tried to fight back against Punk, but the blows he had received had taken their toll on Corino who was now stuggling and on the verge of defeat. It was a punch and some brass knuckles to Punk's head that gave Corino the shocking victory.

Flair got in the ring and got a mic, he announced that Corino had finalled passed the test. He said that all along he was testing Corino, to see if he had what it takes. To see if he had what it took to become the new, "Dirtiest Player In The Game"!! He said his days as a wrestler are now officially over, and he sees Corino as the modern day, in ring Ric Flair. And he wants to guide him on his path as the greatest (and dirtiest) wrestler in history!! All he has to do, is shake Flair's hand. Corino seemed very hesitant at first, but he shook!! And Flair raised his hand and titled, showing that he had passed the torch on!!

Slowly but steadily...

Well, after last weeks not-so-successful Nitro, things seem to be definately picking up. This weeks show was a vast improvement in attendances and buy rate. Also the wrestlers put on an even better show than they did last week, so kudos to them. I think the Corino/Flair angle was quite impressive and gave a good twist at the end, and it's gonna be a good set up for a much bigger storyline. Expect the other main eventers to get much more involved soon too. Daniels will be majorly involved soon but he's being given 2 weeks off for his wedding & honeymoon, so don't expect him back till early March.

The Hardcore Horsemen are going to get a rather big role in up and coming Nitros. The team is meant to represent a more menacing Horsemen, whereas the legendary orignally Horsemen had more emphasis on a pure class of wrestling. I think the psychotic style of Al Snow is a great gimmick for him to lead the group and I expect it to take him much further than he ever went with WWE. I expect a strong and dominate future for this faction and from now on, the other wrestlers had best watch their backs after what The Horsemen did to DeMott & The Bull. They have no remorse and no regret, the question is, who's next?

Overall, all I can say is, keep watching Nitro, the storylines are now unfolding and it's only going to get better!!

A Hardcore Era in the Making??

Last week a new dark force was revealed on Nitro, coming in the form of Al Snow's brainchild, The Hardcore Horsemen. A team consisting of himself and 4 monsterous, vicious men who will take on and destroy anyone at Snow's command. The team made their appearance at the start of Snow & DeMott's in which they brutally attacked DeMott before the match and then gave him a demonic double chair shot to the head, eventually taking him to the hospital. There rampage didn't stop there as they attack Johnny The Bull after his opponent, Kurrgan, joined the Horsemen's ranks, and he too got the same treatment as DeMott and he is also in hospital. Will there rampage continue on this week's Nitro? And if so, who's next?

Also last week on Nitro, the Flair & Corino relationship was finally made clear after Flair revealed why he turned on Corino. He had to test Corino to see if he was just as good as Flair was back in his prime, and he passed. With the pair now partners, where will this partnership take them from here? The only way to find out is to tune in this week on Nitro!!

Tonight, is the start of the WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament which puts Haas & Benjamin against Moondogs 2000 in the first quater final of the tournament. Air Paris & Chavo Grandes Vs The Briscoe Brothers

This match was changed to a ladder match by Mr. Smith. Once again, it was another amazing display of talent from the Cruiser Tag Champs, and an even better display by the challengers. Problems seemed to arise with the Champs, as they kept arguing every now and again which gave the Briscoe Bros more opportunities to capatilize on them. It was eventually a major mistake by Chavo Grandes that cost them the match and the Cruiser Tag Titles, as Mark Briscoe seemed to fly up the ladder whilst Chavo shouted at Paris. Afterwards, Paris & Chavo walked away almost coming to blows with each other.

Nate Hatred, Tank Abbott & John Heindenriech

Vs

Mark Jindrak, Mike Awesome & Orange Crush

Smith recruited 3 of his biggest, most powerful men for this match to challenge The Hardcore Horsemen. The put up a good fight, but outside interference and distraction from Al Snow & Kurrgan put the advantage in The Horsemen's hand. Hatred & Heindenreich's powerful double teams certainly took the wind out of Orange Crush, who is probably the most powerful member of their oppositions team. Hatred & Heindenreich's most notable offence was giving Jindrak a running Gorilla Press throw into the first row of the crowd!! Awesome put 110% into the match and almost had Tank Abbott beat, but a top rope elbow dropped from Hatred stopped the pin. Unfortunately it was The Hardcore Horsemen who got the win after Awesome, in a dazed state, turned to a make a tag, but it was too the wrong team, and he received a one punch knockout from Abbott which set up Heindenreich for a huge Awesome Bomb on Mike Awesome for the pin.

Snow then entered the ring and got on the mic again. He said that it was time for another "demonstration" of their power. The 4 members grabbed Crush & Awesome and pinned them to the ground laying both their heads on chairs. They stuggled but Snow said to them "Nevermind, you won't be moving for long", and with that Snow smashed a chair over Awesome's head then Crush's, giving a modified version of the double chair shot to the head. Both men lay motionless as The Hardcore Horsemen celebrated to massive boo's and things being thrown into the ring.

Jushin Liger Vs Rob Conway

After The Horsemen left, the 2 men we're stretched out and the ring was cleared up, the next match was allowed to begin.

The Japanese Legend made his return to WCW to a great ovation, whereas the former WWE wrestler, Rob Conway, didn't get such a great response. Conway was overwhelmed instantley by the offence of Liger. Despite Liger's age, his high flying antics haven't stop as he dominated Conway throughout the match. Conway's attacked failed at almost every turn. A short burst of attack from Conway using several slams and elbows is all that he gets before Al Snow, makes his way down to ring side. Conway see's him coming and exits quickly through the crowd. Liger is down and doesn't see Snow coming, and he also doesn't see the chair to the back of his head to make sure he stays down. Snow gets on the mic, and says Conway is the first of many, who will run from The Hardcore Horsemen, and thats the only thing you can do against them, because if you stay to face the music, you'll get whats coming, like Mr Liger is about to receive.

(The other 4 members came back down to the ring and begin to destroy Liger. Each of them delivers their signature move on Liger, onto a chair to make matters worse. Liger is then held up by Abbott & Kurrgan as Snow rips off his mask. He tells the WCW, this is just another example of how far they'll go until they get what they want. With that, Snow cues Hatred & Heindenreich to deliver a brutal double chair shot to Liger's head, followed by second!! They drop Liger's lifeless body to the mat and blood starts to pour from his head. This is the sickest group of individuals ever to enter WCW.)

WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament

Haas & Benjamin Vs Moondogs 2000

It was a while once again before the faction left and Liger was stretched out before the first match of the Tag Tournament could begin.

The Moondogs made their debut to a not very interested crowd, but Haas & Benjamin got quite a lot of heat.

The Moondogs rough and brawling style didn't seem to have much effect against Haas & Benjamin's well trained, technical skills. The pair dominated the match and we're almost toying around with Wenzel & Molsoon. Mr. Smith then appeared on the stage, which slightly distracted Haas & Benjamin, and whilst Haas was in the ring, Benjamin walked up to Mr. Smith, but as Smith clicked his fingers, Benjamin was met by Frankie Kazarian & Scotty 2 Hotty!!!! The former WWE wrestler made a surprise debut and gave Benjamin one hell of an ass kicking!!

Haas was soon overwhelmed by the pair of Moondogs and was on the verge of losing his and Benjamin's shot at a semi-final place. It was only a roll up and a handful of tights which captured their spot in the semi's, much to the displeasure of WCW Owner, Kris Smith. He called Scotty & Frankie back as Haas was beaten down by the Moondogs.

Ken Shamrock & Shane Helms Vs American Dragon & Sonny Siaki

This match was over fairly quickly thanks to a sly roll-up from Suger Shane Helms on American Dragon. Helms showed up to this match with a much more "Grungier" look than his former "3 Count" style. Sonny Siaki kept making claims towards Shamrock that the US Title would soon be his, and at one point he tried to steal the title off the time keeper!! Helms also seems to have regained the Vertibreaker finisher after he attempted it twice on Dragon who reversed it both times.

(A camera comes on the WCWtron showing Flair & Corino in the locker room area. Flair went on to talk about how Corino will become the greatest WCW Champion in history, he will surpass Hogan, Hart, Sting, Goldberg and even himself!! To prove that, Corino and Flair announce that next week will be the start of the Steve Corino World Championship Gauntlet, where anyone can challenge Corino anywhere for his WCW Championship!! Applications will be accepted from the start of next weeks Nitro!!)

CM Punk Vs Kevin Martel

A superb 5 star main event helped end a great Nitro. Both men put on some amazing spots which worked extremely well and helped both men look like world class wrestlers all round. Punk is yet to score a single's match win in WCW yet, and Martel is trying to break a bad run of luck which has started since his first and final US Championship defence. Both men's similar style, size and speed helped them to gel together in the match and do some superb moves. Punk eventually had the match won with the Pepsi Plunge. And as he celebrated, The Hardcore Horsemen walked out onto the stage, as they stared out Punk, who just stared straight back at them, emotionless. What Punk didn't see was Martel coming from behind, who attacked him, and gave him a killer Canadian Maple Bomb. As Punk lay out cold on the mat, The Horsemen walked off laughing as the show ended.

The rampage continues....

The rampage reached new heights last week as The Hardcore Horsemen demolished 3 more wrestlers, taking their count up to 5 injured wrestlers now. The say it is it too prove they are serious, but how far must they they go to prove it to the world? Mr. Smith has demanded that they meet him tonight on Nitro it what can only be described as a suicide encounter for the WCW Owner!! Also at the end of last weeks Nitro, The Horsemen stared down CM Punk, is he next on their hit list? If so, what will he do about it? Run or stand his ground and get the same treatment as Mike Awesome, Orange Crush, Jushin Liger, Bill DeMott and Johnny The Bull?? Tune in to see what happens!!

Also on this weeks Nitro, the "WCW Championship Gauntlet" begins and many of the WCW stars are said to be eager to jump at the chance of challenging Corino for the WCW Champion! This could be the ultimate opportunity for many of the wrestler who yearn for the Superstar image, the question is though, who will be the first person to challenge Corino when Nitro starts??

The second match of the WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament is also in this weeks Nitro which puts the new team of Alex Shane & Jonny C, now called 'Made In England' against the reformed Second City Saints of Colt Cabana & Ace Steel , who will be victorious and move onto the semi's and face Haas & Benjamin? Tune in to find out.

Matches on this week's Nitro:

WCW Television Championship

Sonjay Dutt Vs 'Superstar' Steve Seagal

WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament

Made In England (Alex Shane & Jonny C) Vs Second City Saints

With Eric Gargulio & Al Getzer

(The show opens showing footage of Corino & Flair arriving at the arena earlier today. Corino never saw Kaz Hayashi jumps from the top of a truck onto him as a ref ran around the corner. Hayashi kept shouting at the ref as he was all over Corino, until Corino managed to get back his feet and shot to the head with the WCW Title from Flair, took Hayashi out and Corino got the pin on his first successful defence in the WCW Championship Gauntlet!!)

Sonjay Dutt Vs 'Superstar' Steve Seagal

Dutt was once again put his undefeated streak on the line tonight against the debuting 'Superstar' Steve Seagal. Dutt certainly showed a higher degree of skill against the rather nervous Seagal, who made a load of mistakes which Dutt capatilized on everytime. It wasn't long until Dutt hit the Bombay Splash to get the victory and to carry on his undefeated run in WCW.

(Kris Smith comes down to the ring and gets on the mic. He demands that Al Snow gets his ass down to the ring now. Al Snow eventually makes his way down to the ring with The Hardcore Horsemen. Snow stands toe to toe with Smith and neither man seems to back down. Smith says he can be reasonable guy but Snow and his team have gone too far. He said he was gonna lt the first 2 attacks slide, but now, he's making it personal with him, because it's his company that they're screwing up. So, what is it they want?

Snow laughs and says, theres only ever been one thing he wants.... chaos & anarchy. And at the moment, he's well on his way to getting it. The remark seems to anger Smith. He says, that if he can't reason with the group, he'll have to destroy them!! He announces that in 3 weeks time The Hardcore Horsemen will take on 5 men of Smith's choosing in the only match that can suit this battle.... WAR GAMES!! Winner will take all, the winner will take, WCW!! Smith warns Snow to be ready, Snow says he already is. With that Snow and The Hardcore Horsemen leave peacefully for the first time in their existence.)

WCW Tag Team Championship Tournament

Made In England Vs Second City Saints

The second quarter final of the Tag Team Championship took place in this match as one tag team was making there debut as a team, whereas one team was reforming for this competition. Made In England worked very well as a new team, as did Second City Saints, who we're the stronger team throughout the match. Although, there also seemed to be some frustration between Ace Steel & Colt Cabana which gave Made In England a chance to take an advantage. And it was with the advantage that Made In England got the lucky 3 count and advanced to face Haas & Benjamin in the next round after Shane hit the Hammerlock Slam on a distracted Cabana for the win.

Adam Windsor Vs Shawn Stasiak

Windsor seemed a little out of his league in this match, but the Brit put up one hell of a fight against the much larger and more powerful Stasiak. Windsor used several very clever reversals to give himself a chance in the match, but it ended up giving him a loss as Stasiak realised he would reversed it, and Windsor reversed himself into the G-Force Bomb. As Stasiak got the pin, he was blindsided with a chair by Tank Abbot who appeared from the crowd with the rest of The Hardcore Horsemen. The usually attack took place as Snow announced on the mic, he was thinning Smith's choices for the team that will cost him his company. And 2 double chair headshots were delivered to the skulls of Windsor & Stasiak. Security ran to ring as The Horsemen left via the crowd.

Scotty 2 Hotty & Frankie Kazarian Vs Haas & Benjamin

This match was asked for by Haas & Benjamin after last weeks ass kicking which was all part of Smith's payback plan. Haas & Benjamin we're easily matched for skill in this by Scotty's experience & Frankie's years of time in TNA Asylum. At one point, Haas & Benjamin looked like new boys in the ring as Scotty showed his much more experienced, serious side compared to his old partying gimmick. Haas & Benjamin eventually got back into the match but they had to push themselves hard. Whilst the match was going on, Corino and Jindrak spilled out onto the stage it what appeared to be another challenger in the Championship Gauntlet. Corino eventually got the pin and ran off with Flair back into the backstage area as the match in the ring carried on. It was Frankie Kazarian who eventually got the win for himself and Scotty after Smith appeared from no where and gave Benjamin a throat drop onto the top rope, which set Kazarian up for a roll up. Afterwards Haas & Benjamin seemed very angry in the ring.

Nate Hatred & Tank Abbott Vs Masada, Shane Helms & Stevie Fabulous

You would have thought Hatred & Abbott we're out numbered in this match, but there size and power almost evened the match up for them. Hatred opened the match with just pure power throwing his opponents around the ring and hitting them with several low impact power moves. It was only by teaming up that the other teams got an advantage over Hatred & Abbott. Although it wasn't long till the rest of the Horsemen made an apperance at ring side, which seemed to worry Masada & Co. It was Hatred who got the win for himself and Abbott after Helms went for a jumping Hurricanrana which was reversed into a huge Hatred Powerbomb. The rest of the The Horsemen climbed into the ring, cornering the 3 men, until Smith's music hit and he walked out with over 20 WCW Wrestlers!!! He warned Snow, if his men touch them, let alone they won't make it to the War Games, they won't make it to tomorrow!! Snow's men surprisingly back off and left via the crowd.

WCW United States Championship

Ken Shamrock Vs Sonny Siaki

Sonny came out before the match and promised tonight he would be leaving as United States Champion, by whatever means necessary, as he is the Greatest Wrestler in WCW's History. Shamrock soon came out to prove Siaki wrong, however, it seemed to be Siaki who gave Shamrock a lesson in submission holds. His extensive training at TNA Asylum has made him one of the most skilled wrestlers around and it certainly showed against the technical technician that is Shamrock. Siaki had a counter for almost every hold that Shamrock had on him. Shamrock got a very long lasting Ankle Lock on Siaki which seemed to take a lot out of him and had him limping for the rest of the match, but amazingly Siaki pulled off a drop toe hold into modified Indian Deathlock to get the win and the United States Championship!! Siaki got up, got his title, then got a mic and challenged Corino to a match now for his WCW Championship!! He said he wanted to leave not only as US Champion, but as WCW Champion too!!

WCW Championship

Steve Corino Vs Sonny Siaki

Corino made his way out to the ring straight after Siaki challenged him following him winning the US Title. Neither man had the real advantage as Corino has had 2 fights tonight already, and Siaki has just wrestled one man, and has an injured lef. The match opened in quite a bad way as both men managed to hit each other with each other's title belts, knocking them both to the ground!!
