Liverpool secure Iturbe transfer

10th July 2012

New Liverpool boss Joseph Goncalves has returned to former club FC Porto for his first signing of the summer in Juan Manuel Iturbe.

The Argentine forward, 19, has been dubbed 'Mini Messi' by the South American media due to the comparable style of his compatriot and four-time Ballon d'Or winner. Goncalves worked with Iturbe during his long tenure as a coach at the Portuguese club, and he was considered one of the Primeira Liga's finest prospects, despite minimal opportunities in the first team.

The £7.5m deal represents a shrewd piece of business by FSG as Iturbe is widely touted to become one of the most exciting forwards in world football.

Anfield rebuilding continues...

23rd July 2012

Joseph Goncalves' revolution at Liverpool has taken significant strides over the last few days, as the club has concluded a £3.4m deal to bring Georgiy Schennikov to Merseyside.

The Russian fullback, 21, has been tasked with offering competition to regular starter Jose Enrique, who experienced a turbulent first season at Anfield. Despite a strong start to the campaign, the Spaniard suffered a run of bad form that has left many wondering whether he will recover in time for the new season. Schennikov will act as an insurance policy in case that scenario becomes a reality, and exemplifies Fenway Sports Group's policy of buying young talent and developing them internally with a view of increased resale value.

The Liverpool owners are also keen to offload underachievers from the wage bill, and have reportedly told a number of high earners that they are surplus to requirements.

Significant outgoings at Liverpool

12th August 2012

After bringing in a pair of his own signings, new Liverpool manager Joseph Goncalves is looking to axe a handful of names from his inherited squad. Reserve goalkeeper Brad Jones has already completed a move to Charlton Athletic, where former teammate Danny Wilson will also spend the season on loan.

Kop flops Joe Cole and Alexander Doni have reportedly been told that they will be moved on, while Dani Pacheco will spend a second consecutive season on loan, this time at Brighton.

But the biggest news to come out of Merseyside today suggest that Pepe Reina may be headed for an Anfield exit after a bust up with the new manager. The former La Masia graduate hasn't been able to meet his own high standards for a few years now and Ligue 1 side Lille are rumoured to have tabled a £12m bid for his services already. Reports indicate that Reina favours a return to Spain, but will likely find himself relocating to France before the transfer window closes.

German wonderkid Marc-Andre ter Stegen is thought to be Liverpool's top transfer target as they seek a direct replacement.

I usually hate this type of Motley Crue-rock with a passion, but for some reason "We Don't Celebrate Sundays" is too goddamn catchy to leave my frontal lobe :( I like that track, but haven't bothered digging up any more because more than likely it'll just be the same song over and over and so "We Don't..." would lose its interest to me.

So yeah, I like one track, if that counts >_>
