Friday Night Smackdown!

24th February 2006

Richmond, Virginia

The show kicked off with General Manager, Theodore Long on screen, he announced that next week on Smackdown! we would see a re-match between Mark Henry and The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship. (72)

The NEW WWE Tag Team Champions, The Mexicools made their way to the ring on their lawnmowers! They made a speech about winning the belts, completely in Spanish.. but the crowd loved it non-the less. Which is when they were interrupted by the music of William Regal and Paul Burchill. Regal said that the tag team titles had a glorious history, and by allowing a pair of degenerates like the Mexicools be champs, it was completely Besmirching the legacy of those belts. Regal added if they were really good enough to be champions then they would be man enough to defend the belts anytime anywhere. Psychosis replied with 'Aquí mismo, en este momento mi amigo' which in English meant.. 'Right here, right now my friend! With that said, the two Englishmen ran to the ring and the referee rang the bell. (54)

The Mexicools put up a good fight, but it seems like their title reign was doomed as soon as they stepped into the ring. Late in the match, William Regal hit Pscyhosis on the outside with his Brass Knux! As Super Crazy attempted to check on his partner, Paul Burchill took him down from behind and nailed the C4! This got him the three count and we have New Tag Team Champions! (75)

John Bradshaw Layfield came to the ring. He complained about his match at No Way Out and said that Lashley cheated and its a travesty that he is getting a US Title shot later tonight. JBL then said he has beaten everyone there is to beat and he deserves better opponents that freaks like Boogeyman and cheaters like Lashley. JBL said there isn't anyone who he can't beat one on one on the Smackdown! brand. Which is when he was interrupted by Kurt Angle! Angle came to the ring and pointed out that JBL hadn't beat Everybody. angle said that they had both tangled before, but never with a clear winner. Angle proposed that as two former champions, they should go head to head at Wrestlemania 22 and have a match for the ages! JBL thought about it for a moment, before shaking Angle's hand accepting the challenge! JBL then cheap shotted Angle with a punch knocking him to the ground! JBL ran at Angle with the Clothesline from Hell but Angle ducked and went for the Angle Slam, which JBL slipped out of and escaped the ring with a look of shock on his face. (83)

Gregory Helms had a quick and easy title defence next, when he beat Scotty 2 Hotty in a few minutes. He avoided Scotty's Worm and then hit his own Shining Wizard and scored the 3 count. (74)

The camera panned backstage to show Nunzio and Kid Kash who had been watching the match on the monitor. They were debating as to who should be the next to challenge Helms. The arguement was soon interrupted by Funaki who claimed 'Number One announcer! .... Number One Contender!' The three men just degenerated into a big arguement. General Manager Theodore Long appeared and announced at SNME there will be a cruiserweight tag match. It would be Helms and Nunzio vs Kash and Funaki. Kash threw a fit and said he didn't want to be on the same side as someone as stupid as Funaki. Long said if he ever wants a shot a Helm's title again.. he'll fight in the match. (75)

Next up 'Legend Killer' Randy Orton would go one on one with Matt Hardy. Orton was clearly angry about the No Way Out match and looked to be alot more agressive then usual. After spending most of the match being beat down, Hardy finally mounted a comback hitting the Side Effect and Yodel Leg Drop. He then went for the Twist Of Fate but Orton pushed him against the ropes and hit the RKO! That sealed the match for Orton, who left still looking angry... not even stopping to pose.

(77)

Backstage The World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry was stood with manager Davairi. Davairi said that at No Way Out Henry had destroyed the Undertaker like no one ever has before. He said that next week would be no different, he then asked everyone to imagine if thats what he could do to Undertaker... what is Henry capable of doing to Rey Mysterio. (71)

Tag team action up next as MNM battled London and Kendrick. London stayed out of the match a lot due to his hand still being hurt. Unfortunatly for London, even on the outside.. a low blow from Joey Mercury took him down. And Melina then dug her heel into his hand! This essentially made it a handicap match for Brian Kendrick. The young Kendrick held his own and managed to take on both opponents, he went to the top rope for a Moonsault, looking to finish off Nitro, but Nitro got to his feet and was going to attack Kendrick... but London rushed into the ring and Dropsaulted Nitro, allowing Kendrick to connect with the moonsault giving them the hard earned upset victory! (75)

Rey Mysterio was stood backstage and was interviewed by Krystal Marshall. He made a whole speech about how happy he is going to the main event of Wrestlemania. He said he couldn't have done it without his best friend... and looked up. He said that it doesn't matter wether its Mark Henry or Undertaker he faces.. but he WILL live the dream. (80)

Maiv event time and its Booker T defending the WWE United States Title for Lashley. After an initial tie up Booker gained an early advantage with a cheap shot. Lashley kept gaining momentum, but distractions from Sharmell made sure that her man kept his advantage. Eventually referee Charles Robinson sent Sharmell to the back. With this Lashley gained complete control unloading a massive arsenel of clotheslines, suplexes and slams on Booker. The champ managed to escape losing on a few occasions, he kicked out mirculously after a Spear and put his foot on the bottom rope after a Running Powerslam. Lashley was prepared to finish it with his Dominator. He raised Booker up.. but got hit with a Shilleigh to the face by an interfering Finlay! A DQ was called, and a two on one beatdown ensued on Lashley. He was finally saved by a bitter Chris Benoit! Benoit ran to the ring and took it to both men delivering a plethora of German Supelxes! Both Finlay and Booker were sent running as Benoit and Lashley stood together with Smackdown! going off the air. (77)

Ric Flair, Injury News, Hardy Returning To Tag Team Wrestling and CM Punk.

Nature Boy's New Schedual

It appears that time has finally caught up with Ric Flair. He will remain on screen until Wrestlemania 22, wrestling his last match there for a while. He will work a Mick Foley type schedual making appearances around the year. Until Mania he will work an Undertaker type schedual and while he will remain on screen, he won't be in many matches. Flair is the reigning WWE Intercontinetal Champion.

Injury Notes

Apparently Paul London's hand injury was a work and it was announced simply because the WWE wanted to make the PPV match a singles match, allowing Burchill to become more established before winning the tag belts.

In other injury news, Matt Striker has returned to the road after a sprained ankle, the odd thing is that he has been working Smackdown! house shows.

Matt Hardy tags again

During a WWE.com interview after Matt Hardy's loss to Randy Orton, Hardy issued a challenge to the tag team champions for a match in which he said he will face them with a wrestler that "really knows what its like to be a tag team wrestler." WWE.com that fans should check the Smackdown! preview for information.

CM Punk

CM Punk is the OVW Champion and is ready to be called up to the WWE anytime soon. It is not know if he will be on RAW, Smackdown! or when he will be called up. Whether it'll be next week, next month, or even after Wrestlemania.

Fri Night Smackdown!

3rd March 2006

Matt Hardy and a mystery 'tag team wrestler' will face Burchill and Regal in a Non-Title match.

Super Crazy faces Paul London!

Randy Orton goes one on one with Rey Mysterio!

Chris Benoit and Lashley team up to face Booker T and Finlay!

Mark Henry will defend the World Heavyweight Title from Undertaker!

Kurt Angle will face JBL's former Cabinet Member Orlando Jordan after the two men decided they will face off at Wrestlemania 22.

Friday Night Smackdown!

3rd March 2006

Washington, DC

Again the show opened with Theodore Long on the titantron. He announced that tonights main event of Undertaker and Mark Henry would now be a No DQ Match! (71)

'Legend Killer' Randy Orton went up against Rey Mysterio in the opening contest. Orton contined to show his new found agression he displayed the previous week against a man he certainly has reason to be angry at. Orton was ruthless throwing Rey out of the ring and using the Crowd Barrier, Ring Post and Ring Aprons all as weapons. The match continued but Orton was unable to keep Mysterio down long enough for a three count. Mysterio then came out of nowhere and hit a drop toe hold followed by the 619! He took to the air.. but Orton jumped up and nailed the RKO! The referee counted but Rey managed to put his foot on the bottom rope just before 3! Orton began to argue with the referee, threatening him... when Mysterio dropkicked Orton in the back and again hit the 619 and then a Seated Senton! Mysterio scored the three count and left the ring leaving a furious Orton behind. After the match Orton again turned his anger towards the referee and gave him an RKO! (80)

Backstage JBL was stood with Orlando Jordan. JBL said he wanted him to give Kurt Angle a taste of what JBL will do to him at Wrestlemania 22. Orlando said that just because he's facing Angle, it doesn't mean that he and JBL are buddies again. He told JBL to do his dirty work by himself and walked off toward the ring. (74)

And so Kurt Angle went one on one with Orlando Jordan. OJ put up a decent fight, but Angle had this one in the bag from the start.. and he knew it. An Angle Slam and the Ankle Lock later and we have a tap out. After the match JBL came down to the ring and had a go at Jordan, shoving him to the ground. Angle returned to the ring to aid his former competitor. He went right at JBL with right hands but soon fell courtesy of a Low Blow for Jordan! It had been a set up all along. (81)

In Theodore Long's office we saw Kid Kash complaining about having to work with Funaki. While this was going on Gregory Helms was stood in the office taking note of what was going on. Long said that the winner of the tag match, if its not Helms, will be in line for a shot at Helms' title! Helms looked shocked at this revalation. Long told a still unhappy Kash that next week he would get a warm up as he and Funaki will wrestle Regal and Burchill. (62)

Paul London would go one on one with Super Crazy with Brian Kendrick and Psychosis in their respective corners. An amazing high flying expo amazed the fans in attendance, but the display was soon cut short by a run in from MNM who took out both men with their title belts, Melina took Psychosis out with a Low Blow while MNM hit the Snapshot on Kendrick. Of course, a No Contest was called for. (74)

MNM demanded that Theodore Long come out and name them the tag title number one contenders since the Mexicools lost the titles before MNM got their re-match. Theodore Long made his way out. He said that The Mexicools also are owed a rematch against Regal and Burchill. He also pointed out that last week, MNM lost to London and Kendrick, so anything MNM deserve.. them two also deserve. Long said he would come up with a solution for the problem and announce what he will do about it at Saturday Nights Main Event. In addition to that, a triple threat match will take place at SNME, with one representitive for each team competing. (77)

United States Champion Booker T and Finlay were stood backstage and talked about how Benoit and Lashley would not get away with what they did last week. Finlay said he was going to enjoy ripping them both apart, which left Booker T to ask the proverbial... Can You Dig It? ...SUCKAAAAAAA!!! (74)

Apparently Booker and Finlay had bitten off more than they could chew. It seemed as if Lashley and Benoit had been partners previously due to how well they managed to work together. It wasn't long before they took the victory, Benoit hit an amazing German Suplex on Finlay over the Top Rope, dumping him out fo the ring! Which lead to Lashley hitting his patented Dominator on Booker T for the three count. Unfotunatley Finlay and Booker soon recovered and got the last laugh. Booker knocked Lashley out by hitting him in the head with the WWE United States Title while Finlay knocked Benoit out with his Shilleigh. (78)

Road Warrior Animal was walking backstage to his partner for the night Matt Hardy when all of a sudden Paul Burchill and William Regal attacked him from behind with Steel Chairs! Hardy managed to chase them off, the the medics informed Hardy that Animal was unable to wrestle and the match will have to be cancelled. (72)

Main event time and it's The Undertaker's second time to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry, except this time its No DQ. Undertaker began with an awesome display of strength, giving henry a series of rights before clotheslining him out of the ring! Taker wasted no time taking advatage of the No DQ rule and slammed Henry's head into the ringpost before hitting him with a steel chair busting him wide open! Henry's manager Davairi the foolishly tried to interject himself into the action... and ended up getting himself Chokeslammed through the announce table! Henry used this to get back into the action and splashed Undertaker face first into the ringpost! He then tossed the bloodied Deadman back into the ring. Henry gave it everything he had, The Big Splash and The Worlds Strongest Slam but the challenger would not give up! Henry looked to finish off Taker with a Steel Chair, only for Taker to kick it right back in his face! Taker began rallying, hitting a flying lariat and a Swinging DDT. Henry shoved Taker to the ground with a huge burst of strength, and set the Deadman up for his own finishing move.. The Tombstone Piledriver! Taker slipped behind him, and then hit an awe enspiring Chokeslam! Before he could pin the champion, he got hit by an unexpected RKO, courtesy of Randy Orton! Orton draped Henry's arm over Taker and the referee counted the 3! Orton grabbed a steel chair and absoloubtly brutalised the Deadman with it! He continued to assault Taker until he was left a still, bloodied heap in the middle of the ring, all the while shouting "Its not over.. not until your legend dies!" Smackdown! went off the air leaving everyone in attendance shocked. (76)

Just posting to say that I'm still reading this and still enjoying it. WrestleMania is shaping up to be a very good card, with three big time main event matches from SmackDown!

- Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton was booked well, with Mysterio getting the win but Orton getting his heat back afterwards.

- I liked the little angle you did with JBL, Orlando and Kurt Angle. It seems like something JBL would do, pretend that he and OJ were having a fight to lure him in and get OJ to cruely attack him. JBL vs. Angle should be a good match at WrestleMania, but I think there's money in a JBL/Orlando feud sometime in the future.

- I like that you are pushing the cruiserweight and tag divisions, but to me it doesn't seem realistic that they'd get a place on the Saturday Night's Main Event card. Still, I do like that you are pushing both divisions.

- I'm foreseeing a TLC match at WrestleMania between MNM, London and Kendrick, the Mexicools and Regal and Burchill. Should be great :)

- The tag match was pretty cool. Is it just me, or are you switching the feuds over so it's Benoit vs. Finlay and Lashley vs. Booker? Or maybe just combining them? Either way, it's fine with me.

- The segment where Animal was beaten up by Burchill and Regal didn't really make any sense to me. I suppose it's just something to keep the champs occupied until their WrestleMania challengers are announced?

- The main event was good. I can buy Henry as a world champion, although it does seem like his reign is only there to transition the title onto Rey. Glad that you're reviving the Orton/Undertaker feud aswell. It should be a good WrestleMania re-match, and hopefully Orton will get the win this time.

Oh, yeah, and I also really like your format for the shows. It's easy to read. So keep up the good work. I hope you decide to stick with this.

Last week, Randy Orton screwed Undertaker... what will the 'Legend Killer' have to say for himself?

A recent rivalry will continue when Finlay goes one on one with Lashley, with Booker T and Chris Benoit in their respective corners.

Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio will team up to face JBL and Orlando Jordan, but you can bet World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry won't be far behind.

Friday Night Smackdown!

10th March 2006

Mobile, Alabama

Theodore Long introduced tonights special guest from RAW ..'The Game' Triple H. Triple H made his way to the ring doing his usual entrance. Once in the ring he said that everybody knew he was here to make a challenge.. and called out Rey Mysterio. Rey came out, and Hunter challenged him to a match at SNME since that they were both Wrestlemania Number One Contenders. Rey of course accepted and said he was glad to have a warm up oppenent before the biggest match of his career. Triple H laughed and said 'lets be honest.. only one of us is winning a World Title at Wrestlemania.... and it ain't you!' Rey offered his hand to shake to sea lthe deal, H went to shake.. but then slapped Rey in the face! Rey fell to the ground as 'The Game' left looking very pleased with himself. (67)

Time for the first match pitting William Regal and Paul Burchill against Funaki and an unwilling Kid Kash. Funaki fought hard against the opposition, to no avail. When he managed to gain enough momentum to get a tag, Kash dropped off the apron and walked to the back! Leaving Funaki to become a victim of the C4 from Burchill. This of course lead to the pinfall. (75)

After the match Regal continued to 'sic' Burchill on Funaki, like some ravenous dog! The beating lasted a couple of minutes when Matt Hardy ran to the ring armed with a steel Chair! Hardy swung and smashed Burchill in the head, and then swung for Regal, who managed to get out of the ring just fast enough. Hardy took a mic and informed them that even though they may have gotten away with beating up Road Warrior Animal last week, he has a new partner lined up for next week.. and this tag team specialist knows how to fly high! (67)

Theodore Long announced that at Saturday Nights Main Event a contract would be signed for the Wrestlemania 22 match between Kurt Angle and JBL. (73)

WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Gregory Helms went up against Stevie Richards in a non-title match. Helms got the win after a sneaky Low Blow followed by the Shining Wizard for the 3 count. (73)

'Legend Killer' Randy Orton came to the ring to offer an explanation for his actions last week. He said that nobody was taking him serious anymore, since he lost to Undertaker in December. He said he wanted to beat Undertaker once more, and to finally kill his legend... his legendry Wrestlemania Streak. Orton said he would finish the Undertaker off, a year on from when they first fought. The Lights went out and The Undertaker appeared on the Titantron. He spoke 'Randy Orton.. I accept your challenge, on the condition that I can name the stipulation, and I will at Saturday Nights Main Event. Randy Orton.. at Wrestlemania 22... you WILL REST IN PEACE! Orton looked a little shook up, but still showed his cockiness with his challenge being accepted. (80)

MNM fought the Mexicools in tag team action. After a highly competitive rematch from No Way Out the action came to an end when a crazed team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick attacked MNM. The Mexicools didn't take too kindly and attacked London and Kendrick! It wasn't long before a huge six person brawl had broken out and all three teams had to be restrained by road agents and referees. (78)

A video played hyping the coming of Matt Striker to Smackdown! He said he'd sat by and watched for long enough, the people of Smackdown! need to be taught a lesson... he said he would be the one to do it because he is their Teacher, he is Matt Striker! (58)

Next up was a battle between two of Smackdown!'s newer stars. Lashley accompanied by Chris Benoit going up against Finlay who was with WWE United States Champion, Lashley. Both men brought alot of power to the match, while Lashley's speed gave him an edge, Finlay's experience seemed to give him a bigger edge. Lashley looked like he was in position to win, until Finlay brought in his Shilleigh. Lashley ducked and scored with a Spear when Booker T interfered, but was quickly despatched by Chris Benoit and a German Suplex! Lashley then delivered his Dominator to Finlay to score the 3 count. Score one more for the good guys. (70)

JBL and Orlando Jordan were back stage walking towards the ring. They were laughing about how they got one over on Kurt Angle last week and that they were glad to be back together. (66)

Main event time. Despite being against each other a few times recently, Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle seemed to work together very well against JBL and Jordan. The match shortly degenerated into a wild brawl which saw Angle and JBL fighting into the crowd. It wasn't long before Mysterio then managed to hit a serious of his trademark moves on Orlando Jordan, one 619 and a Springboard Legdrop later and Mysterio had the match won. Before he could do anything though, World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry's music played. Henry walked to the ring, and Rey looked ready to fight. Rey went right for Henry's legs, dropkicking his ankles, getting the big man down on his knees. Davairi then came into the ring, but Rey Hurrincanrana'ed him right back out again! This is when things took a turn for the worse and Henry hit the Worlds Strongest Slam on Mysterio! He then followed up by hitting his Big Splash 3 times consecutively. All the while, Triple H was stood atop the ramp laughing and aplauding Henry's actions. (82)

Friday Night Smackdown!

17th March 2006

Bossier City, Louisiana

'Legend Killer' Randy Orton came to the ring to start off the show. He talked about how he was going to finally finish things with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. He said the stipulation doesn't matter, hes already beaten Taker at his own game in Casket Matches and The Hell In A Cell and there was nothing else Taker could throw at him. He said right now he's going to make an example of a legend, as a warm up for the Undertaker. (83)

His opponent came out and it was Kamala. The legend took the offensive from the start with a massive assault using his power advantage. Orton came back with a sly rake of the eye, and beat down on Kamala for a few minute before finally hitting the RKO! Which of course was followed by the 3 count. After the match Orton decided he wasn't finished and hit another RKO, adding insult to injury. (60)

Matt Striker appeared on the titantron. He said that while Kamala may be a legend, it was desperatly obvious that he never had a good teacher. Striker said that he was coming to smackdown! to give its less then fortunate stars some lessons, and hes going to do that out of the goodness of his heart, because he 'is your teacher, he IS Matt Striker' (48)

WWE Tag Team Champions William Regal and Paul Burchill came to the ring for a title defense from recent rival Matt Hardy and his promised High Flying Tag team Specialist. It turned out his partner of choice was Marty Jannety! Hardy and Jennety pulled out all of the stops during this match, but ultimatley came up short. Hardy hit Regal on the outside with a plancha which unfortunatly left Jannety to be brutalised by Burchill and his C4. Burchill grabbed Regal and the tag belts, leaving before a furious Matt Hardy could do anything. (69)

Simon Dean was backstage taking off his Fitness Instructer Outfit, with Guns N Roses' "You Could be Mine" playing in the background. He said he was going to do something that another man had done before. He put on a pair of jeans followed by a black t-shirt. He then said this man had made a jump from bodybuilder to action hero. He then put on a leather Jacket.. He said that from now on we can call him 'Simon Deanznegger..... he then put on a pair of shades and left, but not before saying.. Asta La Vista.... Baby! (60)

Rey Mysterio fought Gregory Helms in a non title match. After a good cruiserweight exhibition, Helms hit a low blow and then the Shining Wizard. Mysterio amazingly managed to kick out! After a couple of his signature moves Rey got a drop toehold, and then hit the 619 followed by a Seated Senton! Before he could get the pin, World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry attacked Mysterio. He destoryed him with The Worlds Strongest Slam and then the Big Splash! Helms of course left the ring and made a clever escape. (81)

'The Game' played on the PA, and RAW's Triple H came out onto the ramp. He said he had a message for Mysterio. He said he knew Mysterio could hear him.. even if he couldn't move. He announced that at Saturday Nights Main Event Mark Henry would be in Triple H's corner! Of course... it would be just so he can 'scout' his Wrestlemania opponent. (85)

Next up a rematch between Kurt Angle and Orlando Jordan. Angle proved just why he is called 'the wrestling machine' as he teared OJ apart with Suplexes and vicious holds, ulitmatly hitting the Angle Slam and then applying a grapevined Ankle Lock for the submission! After the match JBL came to the ring, and Angle fought with him, but when OJ recovered the handicap was too much for Angle. Jordan got a Steel Chair as JBL held Angle by his arms, but Angle ducked and OJ smashed JBL over the head! Angle then Angle slammed Jordan onto the chair before leaving happy with what he'd done. (81)

Backstage Melina walked over to the Mexicools. They didn't look to pleased until she told them she was sick of MNM and wanted something a little more fiery... something mexican maybe? She did a 'come hither' motion with her finger and lured them around a corner, where Nitro and Mercury were waiting with steel chairs! The Mexicools realised their error too late. (58)

The beating from MNM continued onto the Mexicools with Melina even getting her kicks in. The out of nowhere Brian Kendrick and Paul London sprinted up and made the save, taking it right to MNM! The two teams brawled up and down the corridoors, and when the Mexicools finally recovered, the got up and gave chase to the other four men. (64)

Main event time, and its a WWE United States Title Match between two longtime rivals, Booker T and Chris Benoit. Benoit took to the offensive from the start hitting vicious chops and German Suplexes. Booker managed to get back in control thanks to constant distractions from Sharmell and Finlay. That would become the story of the match, everytime Benoit gained momentum, it would be unfairly halted by one of Booker's companions. Later into the match Lashley came to the ring, stalked Booker and Spear! NO! Booker moved and Lashley hit Benoit! Finlay tackled Lashley out of the ring while Booker made the cover to retain his title. Booker, Finlay and sharmell all left. Lashley helped Benoit up.. but Benoit didn't seem to happy with Lashley and left the ring also, with the young rookie following behind. (84)

Number One Contenders Face Off - Rey Mysterio (SD!) vs Triple H w/Mark Henry (RAW) - I think Cena will come out to help Mysterio win this one.

WWE Title Match - John Cena © vs Edge w/Lita - Triple H heel, babyface champion needed.

Intercontinental Title No 1 Cont. - Rob Van Dam vs Shelton Benjamin - Same logic as above, Flair is a face so he needs a heel challenger.

Gregory Helms and Nunzio vs Kid Kash and Funaki - Unlikely partners to co-exist and win the match.

Super Crazy vs Paul London vs Joey Mercury - London and Kendrick vs. Regal and Burchill looks like the best option.

Saturday Night's Main Event

18th March 2006

Detroit, Michigan

The Show opened up with Smackdown! General Manager Theodore Long coming to the ring. He said that in a moment we would kick of the returning Saturday Night's Main Event with a match from the Smackdown! brand. But first he said he had promised an announcement regarding the tag team situation, and he was gonna deliver. He said that for the first time ever, The Money In The Bank Ladder Match will come to Smackdown! But instead of 6 Indiviuals, it would be three Tag Teams competing for a chance to have a shot at the tag titles whenever they want! Without further ado, he introduced the three men who would wrestle next, one from each team of MNM, The Mexicools and London/Kendrick. (77)

Super Crazy defeated Joey Mercury and Paul London in a triple threat match. At the start, Crazy and London teamed up to take on the common enemy in Mercury. And for a while they seemed to work surprisingly well as a team. It wasn't until a double dropkick knocked Mercury from the ring, Crazy and London went at it with each other. London and Crazy amazed the crowd with a series of high flying moves, as well as a run of continuous fluid reversals. Shortly later Johnny Nitro came to even the odds, with his partner downed. MNM hit a Snapshot on Crazy but Brian Kendrick came to the ring, he and London tossed Nitro from the ring, both jumped up turnbuckles, and jumped off at him! Psychosis ran to the ring in an attempt to attack Mercury, but he had him scouted and knocked him out with a pair of Brass Knux! Which is when Super Crazy jumped onto his shoulders from behind and followed through with a Victory Roll for the 3! (75)

Chris Masters def Big Show in a Masterlock Challenge. Masters pulled off the seemingly impossible, but not without help. First of all he weakened Big Show with a series of brutal Steel Chair Shots. He shortly re-applied the hold, but still resisted. Soon enough it was Masters' partner in crime Carlito who came to the ring, and delivered a series of right hands to the incapacitated Show, before spitting Apple in his face, which lead to Show finally giving up. The pair began a beatdown on the bloodied and weakened Big Show, when BOOM! pyro went off and out came Kane! The both attacked Kane, but the Big Red Machine dispatched them both with ease and sent them running as he attended to his partner. (74)

Kid Kash and Funaki def Gregory Helms and Nunzio. Helms and Nunzio dominated most of the match, despite Funaki's best efforts, as Kash refused to accept a tag making it practically a handicapped match! Funaki managed to gain momentum a few times, getting out of various sticky situations, but with no one to make a tag too, it was all in vain. Kash began taunting the crowd throughout the match, as they chanted 'Come on Kash' in an attempt to get him to help Funaki. While he had his back turned to face the crowd, Funaki made a tag to him! The reluctant Kid Kash stepped into the ring, and said a few things to Helms and it looked as if he was going to lay down for him. Kash however revealed he was bluffing and roleld up the champ for a very near fall! Kash completley cleaned house, eventually hitting a Brainbuster DDT on Helms for the victory, while Funaki kept Nunzio busy with a Tornado DDT. The announcers noted that the victory had earned the 'now fan favourite' Kid Kash a future WWE Cruiserweight Title shot. (83)

The Undertaker announced his stipulation for the Wrestlemania match as a 'Buried Alive Match.' Randy Orton came to the ring and talked down Undertaker for a while before the lights went out and a voice was heard, which was The Undertaker of course. He stated that Orton may have survived a Casket Match and a Hell in a Cell but he will Rest In Peace after the Buried Alive Match. The lights came back on the reveal The Undertaker standing in the ring. Orton attacked him but the Deadman prevailed and hit his patented Tombstone Piledriver! After this, Taker folded Orton's arms and did his 'pinning pose' (78)

Shelton Benjamin def Rob Van Dam via DQ in Intercontinental Number One Cont. A good quality match, which went on for quite a while. Both men pulled out all of the stops, and RVD looked set to win after hitting a Springboard Sidekick, The Rolling Thunder and then the Five Star Frog Splash. Shelton amazingly survived by placing his foot on the bottom rope. Shelton seemed to be well on his way to winning when he couldn't keep RVD down even after a Top Rope Clothesline, a super kick and aT-Bone Suplex. Shelton decided to even the odds with a Steel Chair even at the risk of DQ. But it was RVD who would be disqualified, when he ducked a Chair Shot from Shelton and instictively hit the Vandaminator. (74)

Matt Hardy revealed his latest partner, and no one expected this.. WWE Tag Champs, Regal and Burchill came to the ring. They said that now the MITB match had been announced, they were without challengers for Wrestlemania. The only person that sprung to mind was Matt Hardy and they'd beaten that 'Bloody Pillock' time after time, despite him enlisting tag team specialists such as Road Warrior Animal and Marty Jannety.. This of course promted Hardy to come out to the ring. Hardy said he has found another partner, one he knows he can be successful with.. but before he could continue, Burchill floored him! Regal, as we have seen in previous weeks, started to 'Sick' Burchill on Hardy. Matt Hardy was saved by a man no one expected to see in the WWE again.. his brother Jeff! Jeff sprinted to the ring, and the Hardyz immedietly began operating as a unit hitting the Twist Of Fate and the Swanton Bomb on Burchill! Regal managed to escape the ring and left up the ramp fuming, and with one hell of a face on. While Matt and Jeff embraced in the ring. (70)

Edge def John Cena to win the WWE Title. Both man battled hard in a fierce re-match from the Royal Rumble, with both the WWE Title and a spot at Wrestlemania on the line. With the referee knocked out early on, it became a street fight. Chair's and a Steel Pipe were used, and Cena looked to finish Edge with an F-U through a table, but Lita delivered a low blow which lead to Edge Spearing Cena through an upright Table in the corner! Edge became a 2 Time WWE Champion! (79)

Kurt Angle and JBL Signed a Contract. The contract signing went ahead as planned, and as predicted a brawl broke out. Angle made short work of JBL and Orlando Jordan but it was the surprise return of the Basham Brothers to JBL's Cabinet which shocked Angle. He managed to put up a decent fight, but the four on one advantage became far too much for Angle, who eventually became a victim of a Modified 3-D through the Contract Table! (88)

Rey Mysterio def Triple H w/Mark Henry. HHH certainly underestimated Mysterio, and little Rey gave Hunter a run for his money in the early goings of this match. Ultimatly though, any momentum gained by Mysterio was halted by World Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry. The end to this hard fought battle came when Henry went at Rey with a chair, only to get it springboard dropkicked into his face, Triple H looked to take advantage, but got rolled up for the three count! (79)

Sam wins the prediction contest, by default. I'm quite dissapointed, especially conidering the decent response I got last time round, ah well enjoy.

Damnit, I was literally typing out my predictions as you posted the show. I'll give my feedback as I type. I've been enjoying the diary so far, and I like the changes you've made with Henry as the champion and continuing the Orton/Taker feud. I like the abbreviated style which I think seems to suit you better. Having said all that, if ever you want to ressurrect your 2003 diary that would be fine by me (Y)

Feedback for SNME

Nice ideo for the MITB match. I thought it was a bit silly to have the second match at this year's wrestlemania since really there's no need to install an 'annual tradition' on that show, it's gonna draw regardless. Changing it to the three team ladder match is a nice idea.

Triple threat match was fine, nice to see the Mexicools get the duke after being attacked on Smackdown, since they definitely came off worse then.

Masterlock challenge again fine, sets up the tag match for WM nicely.

Buried alive was the only way for this feud to go really after Hell in the Cell. Orton HAS to go over. Taker's got his victory, foiling the sneak attack, he needs to job at WM

Tag match again good, but I'm kinda against Kid Kash being a face to be honest. I just think with his charisma and gimmick, he'smuch better as a face. If I were you though, I'd push his obnoxious side massively though, would provide a nice counterpoint to Helms and creates a kind of battle of the egos situation which could be interesting.

Matt Hardy's new partner was kinda predictable but the best way to write Jeff back in to my mind. The Hardyz have to become the new champions, simply because whoever wins the MITB is gonna blend with them fantastically.

Wow. The WWE title is like a hot potato or something. This is really interesting. As an Edge mark, having him as the champion is always gonna be good news but also allows you to prevent the disaster that was Raw's WM main event where the face got booed out of the building. I hope this means Trips is gonna turn face... hang on, is HHH even Raw's number one contender? I'm a little lost as to what's going on on the Raw side of things... or do I smell triple threat?

Hmmm... I'm not so convinced by the main event. Trips looked quite week there. It perhaps would have been better to have Henry botch the interference... but that makes him look weak. Rey gets a bit of kudos, I understand that I suppose though.

Overall a decent show I thought, but for some of the reasons I explained above, the ending kind of let it down for me but it was still solid. I look forward to seeing what happens in the run up to Wrestlemania.
