PC Emulators?

While I wait to amass the $1100 needed for my kick ass new PC, I'm in dire need of a way to play EWR and Chart Wars and other such games, but my parents only own an iMac and a Mac laptop. Does anyone know of a downloadable emulator that will get the job done so I can play them? Hell, while we're on it, how the hell do emulators work?

I'm not a Mac expert but I know of this program called Wine something that emulates Windows on a Mac so peeps can play WoW and shit. But that might be a linux program.

In other words I don't know.

Wine's linux, but there might be a Mac port somewhere.

Out of curiosity, why would somebody get an emulator so they can play WoW on Mac when it's available on Mac?
