Pro Wrestling News

Breaking news from the Indy scene for you wrestling fans today, we have a new promotion on the circuit. Currently being run by former professional footballer, and long time wrestling fan Jerry Hall, we have managed to gather a few tidbits about this exciting proposition.

- Similar system as current American promotion Ring of Honor. ROH now has competition to worry about.

- Featured in Times Weekly, due to Halls football career. It’s always interesting when a big name star jumps onto something new.

- Hall has emphasized his plans for the future, a full welcome pack to the company can be downloaded at www.ultimatewrestlingexperience.com

- UWE will be running weekly shows which can be obtained free of charge at UWE. Hall has a great skeleton of financial backing, and he’s not afraid to flash the cash. Expect some big Indy stars to be appearing in a UWE ring, quite soon.

- Two main titles; the UWE World title, and UWE Grappler Trophy. We can fiercely say that the Grappler Trophy is quite similar indeed to ROH’s Pure title.

- Wrestling based orientated. Hall has declared that all wrestlers, of all size structures and backgrounds will be given a fair and equal chance to hone their craft inside the UWE ring.

- UWE owner Jerry Hall has said that a full list of workers will be released within due course. We have heard that that will come as early as next week. Don’t be surprised to read about some big names.

- Don’t be thinking that this is a company primarily based on smaller wrestlers. Hall is a former professional footballer, a big guy, and he’s all for giving the big guys a chance as well, as long as they can provide the goods.

8 basic points to UWE thus far. Our partners at Powerslam magazine will be running a four page article on UWE next month. Be sure to catch that out to read all about Jerry Hall. Who exactly is he? What fan base will the UWE be targeting? When is the first show? And the big names rumoured to be coming to UWE soon. All these questions and more shall be answered in the next edition of Powerslam

A crowd of assembled media officials stand before a podium. The words “UWE” blend comfortably behind the podium, behind a massive figure. His stature peers above everything else in sight.

*Cough* “If I can just have your attention for a moment. Thanks to everyone here today of course, but firstly I’d like to thank Mark Bristle and the guys behind the scenes of Gunning Corporations. Without their support this project wouldn’t even have came into fruitation. For the past number of years I, like thousands of other wrestling fans have been dismayed at the number of products we have witnessed come into the light, so many chances, and so many mistakes. Squandered before our very eyes and instincts, we became distant from what really mattered, professional wrestling. The art of the most athletic, toughest son of a bitch you’re likely to every meet. So, why am I here? I’m here for the sole main reason of professional wrestling. The Messiah, the hopeful, the great, and I come with new incentive, a shit load of money, and a dream. It’s quite simple ladies and gentlemen, jump on the bandwagon, or else we’re going to be out of sight. We promise to bring the highest paced, technical excellence from all corners of the world. We hope to obtain a television deal to support our ideas; we have a business plan in operation, and we’re ready to kick some ass, old-school.”.

Pro Wrestling Insider - ****MASSIVE BREAKING NEWS****

Brock Lesnar is set to return to the WWE next year. Lesnar met with Vince McMahon earlier today, and both men came to a substantial agreement. If that itself doesn’t send shockwaves through the wrestling community, then hold onto your seat. The agreement is sketchy, but we’ve been informed that it will involve Lesnar spending a year down at UWE before coming back to the WWE. Intriguing start so far. I always seem to enjoy reading and writing diaries surrounding created promotions. It gives a lot more freedom to do what you want from the start. Straight away you've got a big hook with the American wrestling return of Brock Lesnar. It's an interesting decision to take, and with the relationship established there's a chance for more dealings down the line. Of course, Lesnar will be the aspect I was the most. Only having him for a year means you've got to get the most out of him before he's shipped back off to the E. I like the mix you have in the roster right now aswell. Any diary featuring guys like Shelley, Walters, Nakamura, and Shibata always get a thumbs up from me.

Brock Lesnar Vs Katsuyori Shibata - Brock Lesnar. Got to give it to the former Next Big Thing, as he will be a striking force in this company.

Ultimate Wrestling Experience World Title – Over the top rope elimination match

Featuring 20 lottery drawn wrestlers -Samoa Joe. Got to give it to the Samoan Submission Machine; just don't put him into too many multiple people matches like TNA. I say him and Giant Bernard last two in the ring.

Grapplers Trophy Final – 4 Way Elimination Match -Doug Williams. He will pull out the upset with him and Danielson being the last two in the match.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Bryan Danielson Vs Chris Cage -Bryan Danielson. I haven't heard too much of Cage.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Alex Shelley Vs Adam Windsor -Alex Shelley. He has the talent and charisma; seems like a 1998-'99 Jericho in WWF/WCW.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Joey Ryan Vs John Walters - Joey Ryan. He has charisma and is a future up and comer.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match – All Britain Contest

Doug Williams Vs Johnny Smith - Doug Williams. No doubt.

Brock Lesnar Vs Katsuyori Shibata

I could see Lesnar being the a major role in this diary and the only way to establish that early is to have him win a huge first match.

Ultimate Wrestling Experience World Title – Over the top rope elimination match

Featuring 20 lottery drawn wrestlers Raven

It was him or Samoa Joe, I wasn't sure which one to go with. Actually, a feud between the two would be excellent.

Grapplers Trophy Final – 4 Way Elimination Match

Alex Shelley

I'm hoping he walks out with the trophy, and hopefully a major push, too! I could see him pulling a fast one on Danielson.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Bryan Danielson Vs Chris Cage

At first, I thought this read Danielson vs Christian Cage and thought I missed something. Anyway, Danielson takes the easy win.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Alex Shelley Vs Adam Windsor

Alex Shelley > *. I hope you agree.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Joey Ryan Vs John Walters

Not really sure, but I'll go with Walters.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match – All Britain Contest

Doug Williams Vs Johnny Smith

I love Williams and having him in the finals could make for an awesome final.

Ultimate Wrestling Experience's first show kicks off from Chicago. You can't deny the atmosphere, it's electric, it's off the chart, it's Ultimate Wrestling Experience.

--Fool me once? You're fired--

Erik Watts struts to the ring, swaying from side-to-side. He grins at the camera, before stomping his way up the steps, and into the ring. He twirls around, grabs a microphone and slowly waits for the crowd to die down. Watts drops a bombshell. He welcomes everyone to the first ever Ultimate Wrestling Experience show and indicates that he is none other than the UWE owner. The crowd is clearly beside themselves. Watts hammers home the message, if you cross the boss, then you may as well head for the exit door. He isn't going to take any crap, and points out that he's going to be watching out for possible alliances and foes. He told anyone that wanted to rebel that they better sit down and take the quiet pill or he'd personally drop an E-Bomb.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match - All Britain Contest

Doug Williams Vs Johnny Smith

The fantastic Doug Williams kicks off the first ever UWE match against fellow Briton Johnny Smith. Smith is an experienced grappler, and he delicately proved that throughout the contest, beating Williams on numerous occasions to the mat. As one would expect this match was a great bout. Williams went for the Chaos Theory early on, but Smith thrust his foot behind Williams to block the attempt, before slamming Williams to the mat with a high-angle backdrop. Williams goes for a wild forearm shot, Smith ducks and counters with a forearm shot of his own, followed up by another. Great wrestling, it has to be said. Williams worked over the back of Smith, a spine buster nearly finished Smith off, but Williams advanced for definite with a running power bomb.

Doug Williams advances to the final

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Joey Ryan Vs John Walters

Walters has had some impressive contests, to be precise his match against Christopher Daniels during his tenure at Ring of Honor. Walters delivered the goods tonight. He worked fantastically well with the young Joey Ryan, and made Joey look incredibly good inside the ring. Both men weren't afraid to go at it, with Ryan looking to prove a point to everyone backstage, he may be inexperienced but he wants that trophy. Gut wrench suplex gets a 2 and a half count for Ryan. Walters muscles out of the pin goes off the ropes and delivers a swift kick to the side. Ryan staggers backwards, into the ropes, and strikes out at Walters, out of no-where he hits the "Cage Effect" for the three count.

Joey Ryan advances to the final

Yeah, it's that destiny thing again

Crouched over in a backstage room, Raven leans up against a trashcan, his hair hails down in front of his face. He speaks calmly, with authority nonetheless. Raven indicates the measures he's going to take on each and every soul in the rumble tonight. It's pretty gruesome; he talks about dripping blood from the corpse of the unclean. The unclean obviously being the other 19 competitors.

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Alex Shelley Vs Adam Windsor

Upset of the night here. Shelley totally dominated the match from the get go. His Embassy poses really got up the nose of The Royal One Windsor, and this Windsor unleashed a wrath of fury, clothesline after clothesline, followed up by a snap suplex into a vicious looking headlock. Shelley fights his way out of the hold and kicks out at the back of Windsor. Windsor rolls over, delivers a shocking European uppercut, before hitting the Royal Driver for the victory.

Adam Windsor advances to the final

--Intermission--

Grapplers Trophy Qualification Match

Bryan Danielson Vs Chris Cage

The ROH champion arrives in typical fashion, lambasting the crowd for their lack of appreciation. Cage gets a fantastic reception, more than likely due to the fact Danielson annoyed nearly everyone. Cage went straight to business. Hitting Danielson with a fury of tackles, and locking him down neatly to the mat. Danielson worked over the left leg of Cage, stomping on it when he could, and tying Cage up with a leg lock, into a bow-and-arrow. Danielson drives his knees into the left knee of young Chris Cage. Danielson goes for a German suplex, but Cage manages to land on his feet, and he followed up with his own version of the German suplex. They both hooked up well, and both put on a good match, easily the best match so far. Danielson finished off a fantastic attempt by Cage with his typically painful cattle mutilator.

Bryan Danielson advances to the final.

First alliance revealed

Erik Watts is backstage with a microphone. He grins at the camera as usual, posing for the camera. Watts asks if he's looking good, and follows up with the answer "Of course I am, I'm Erik Watts, the UWE owner." Watts really is starting to annoy people with his manner. Fans chanted for Samoa Joe to kill him. Erik is soon accompanied with Giant Bernard, the beast towers over the owner, water dripping down his hairy chest. Ugh. Erik points to Bernard and says he's found the next and first UWE champion. Giant Bernard boosts about his weight, and height, and claims that all the "puny fools" will be visiting Saint Bernard quite soon.

Grapplers Trophy Final

Doug Williams Vs Joey Ryan Vs Adam Windsor Vs Bryan Danielson

The rules are simple, no rope breaks, you can't leave the ring, or go above the second rope, this has to be settled in the ring, with mat based wrestling. Who better than to have this fantastic mix of technical arsenalists? Bryan Danielson hasn't held the ROH title for over a year for nothing, he's a talented individual, possibly the best wrestler in the world. Williams is tough, big, and he can go with the best. Little is known about Ryan and Windsor, but guessing from their first round qualifiers they can certainly bring the goods to the table. It's great to say that all four men obeyed the commands set down, they had to, otherwise they would be removed from the contest. Joey Ryan and Windsor both teamed up against Williams and Danielson, and for a while it was basically a tag match, until the obvious occured, and both "teams" turned on their "partners". Ryan was eliminted first by Windsor, surprisingly. Danielson was eliminated after Windsor and Williams both teamed up, and gave the ROH champion a beating he'll never forget. Blood dripping down his face, the chest slapped red and his trophy so close, Danielson was out. So, it was between Williams, and Windsor. Would they hold back? Of course not. Some excellent exchanges, some fantastic counters, and some great memories. Windsor applied a side head lock, but Williams reversed into a cheap takedown, into a headlock of his own. Back and forth we went, until Williams put Windsor away with a sick pump kick.

A video package is shown of Brock Lesnar and Katsuyori Shibata, on separate sides of the screen. Both men are preparing for their match. Lesnar is sitting down, his head deep into the palm of his hands. Shibata is taking deep breaths and jumping up and down.

Brock Lesnar Vs Katsuyori Shibata

Brock Lesnar made his North America return, to a fantastic and overwhelming reaction from the Chicago crowd. Lesnar was clearly taken back by the reception, slapping the hands of the ringside fans who stood, clapped and cheered. Shibata is a household name back in Japan and he too was given a fantastic reception. Both men appreciated the crowd, they shook hands and the contest got underway. The crowd threw chants of "Let's Go Lesnar" and "Let's Go Shibata". Collar and elbow tie up, both men dance around the ring with the hold locked in. The referee is forced to break it up. A fantastic contest, both men should be proud. Lesnar was clearly rusty, but once he got into his stride, and once both men broke the 30 minute mark he really started to come out. He dominated Shibata with lethal press slams and clotheslines. Shibata nearly finished Lesnar off at 34 minutes with a cheeky roll up, but Lesnar was able to muscle out of the pin. We reached the 45 minute mark, and then the 60 minute mark. Still both men went at it, still giving it their all, and still were both in with a chance to win. Shibata had Lesnar on the top rope, sitting like a duck, Shibata went for a swinging DDT, but Lesnar managed to hold on, before delivering his patent F5 for the long three count.

Winner via pin fall - Brock Lesnar @ 68 minutes

****Breaking News****

Chris Jericho has confirmed on his personal website that he is set to retire from professional wrestling for good after this month. WWE seem to have cut off links with Jericho altogether after this announcement. WWE refused to promote Jericho's upcoming album. TNA are mean while on the hunt to show Jericho's last match on Spike TV. Speaking of which, it won't be his last match. Jericho is scheduled to appear on the UWE Christmas Chaos show which is booked for the 31st December. Interesting nonetheless.

Prince Nana has also signed a contract with UWE. Nana is valued greatly by Jerry Hall, and he felt it was necessary for the company to gain his signiture alongside talent such as Alex Shelley. It will be interesting to see if ROH allows UWE to use The Embassy as a stable in the company. My bet is that they won't. With an excellent turn out for their first show, sources in ROH say that management are starting to worry. After one show? Come on.

Prediction Results

I'll give a point based on the number of eliminations in the World title match.

MLWXTREMEHORSEMAN - 10 points - An extra point for predicting the Grapplers Trophy winner.

The Canadian Destroyer - 9 Points

I'll be PMing MLW quite soon.

Damn, the first show was up too quickly for me to get predictions in.

A few of the match results were quite surprising. Ryan over Walters, and Windsor over Shelley stand out the most. I'd have expected the latter to walk out with wins to be honest. However, I did like Windsor beating Shelley as there's room for the two to develop a rivalry. I fully expected Williams to beat Smith, as he seems to be a more long term investment than his opponent. That was only enforced more by his eventual win, and once again I was surprised to see Windsor sticking around as long as he did.

I think the title match could have done with a little paragraph about a few kep points. It could have helped try and get across things about a few of the guys involved. With twenty men, there was an opportunity to show who you top guys are below Lesnar. Raven however did come out of it strongly, eliminating several guys and being the runner up. I'm not sure how to take Birchall winning. He wouldn't have been off WWE tv for long, and therefore fresh in the fans minds. Plus, Birchall Vs. Lesnar at some point? That sounds sexy.

Lesnar going over in the main event wasn't a surprise at all. Giving both guys over an hour is kinda a half and half move. They're both capable of delivering a fantastic match, but after a 20 man battle royal? It could have been draining on the crowd. Still, having it go back and forth right up until the end helps give Shibata more credibility for future appearances.

Excellent first show. I'm happy with most of the results, especially Burchill winning aswell Williams but I was sad to see Shelley lose. But it puts Windsor over so it's not all bad. My only major problem with this so far is having Chris Jericho wrestle his final match with UWE. You'd think he would want to have his final match in the WWE. It just bugs me that he'd choose the indy fed over the global fed.

Chris Jericho's Farewell Match

Chris Jericho Vs Brock Lesnar

Passing the torch I guess. It makes more sense to have Lesnar beat Jericho with some kind of respect angle afterwards.

UWE World Title - Cage Match

Paul Burchill © Vs Low-Ki

I can't see him losing his title after one month, especially to a replacment.

Katsuyori Shibata Vs Samoa Joe

I could see Joe being built up really big and then fighting Lesnar at the biggest show of the year.

Matt Stryker Vs Bryan Danielson

I could see Danielson putting over Stryker but I'd like to see Danielson climb the ladder in this promotion before putting younger stars over.

UWE World Title Number One Contendership - 20 minute Ultimate Experience Match

Ace Steele Vs Eddie Valentine Vs Doug Basham Vs Test Vs Jimmy Rave Vs Mark Copani Vs Steve Blackman Vs Rhino Vs Shannon Moore Vs Trevor Murdoch

Hard to guess with these multi-man matches but I'm hoping Rave takes the win, even though I could easily see Rhino, Steele, Murdoch or Test take the win.

Hardcore Chaos

Tommy Dreamer Vs Stevie Richards

Should be a solid match. Looking forward to seeing Tommy kill Stevie.

UWE Grapplers Trophy - Number One Contendership

Sonjay Dutt Vs Jay Lethal

I would have liked to of seen a more technical wrestler to win the contendership and face Williams for the trophy but it's not a big deal. I like Lethal more than Dutt.

Really good diary so far. I must say, though, a couple of things.

Paul Burchill makes his first defense against a replacement worker, I can understand that, but, in a steel cage? His first defense of the WORLD Championship in a steel cage? Strange, I only thought you use cages in feuds, with storylines that add to it. Not just someone's first defense of a world championship against a replacement worker.

Loving the Chris Jericho vs Brock Lesnar match, and the hyping of 'Jericho's Farewell' match. Yeah, good idea. I also like the signings, too, Tajiri, Test, Kevin Steen, Noble, Richards and Dreamer are really awesome signings. I like the name 'Grappler's Trophy', also.

Tommy Dreamer making his first match against Stevie Richards, fair enough, in a hardcore match, though? Strange, again. I can understand that you want to bring Dreamer in to give a hardcore feel to himself and the promotion, but with no storyline what so ever? You could've at least made him challenge him publicly or something..

Apart from them two things, everything looks great and I will follow this.

Final Card

Chris Jericho's Farewell Match

Chris Jericho Vs Brock Lesnar

Passing the torch, in his last match. Loving the booking, here.

UWE World Title - Cage Match

Ace Steele Vs Eddie Valentine Vs Doug Basham Vs Test Vs Jimmy Rave Vs Mark Copani Vs Steve Blackman Vs Rhino Vs Shannon Moore Vs Trevor Murdoch

Loving the stipulation of 'Ultimate Experience' match, nice concept there. I think you just might push Copani.

Hardcore Chaos

Tommy Dreamer Vs Stevie Richards Dreamer will kill Richards

UWE Grapplers Trophy - Number One Contendership

Sonjay Dutt Vs Jay Lethal The more technical wrestler, and the better one, in my opinion.

Christmas Chaos kicks off with a video involving Chris Jericho, showing numerous stages in his career. It ends with a clip from the Christmas Chaos press conference, as Lesnar and Jericho stare down in front of the cameras.

UWE Grappler’s Trophy Number One Contendership

Sonjay Dutt Vs Jay Lethal

Lethal dominated from the start. Dutt was placed firmly on the mat with a belly-to-back suplex, but Lethal only managed the 2 count. After numerous strikes to the mid-section Lethal drags Dutt to the matt with a hammerlock, and follows up with a nicely executed bulldog. Lethal follows up with more kicks to the body. Dutt jumps up, and hits out with an elbow strike. Lethal can’t believe it, he takes a wild swing, Dutt blocks it, Lethal takes Dutt by surprise with a swift kick to the stomach, and takes him onto the mat with a spinning power bomb, for the three count.

Winner via pin fall – Jay Lethal

Kid Romeo Vs Chris Cage

Chris Cage wanted to capitalize on the situation following his fantastic attempt against ROH champion Bryan Danielson last month. To be brutally honest, Cage wasn’t that impressive tonight; he looked sluggish, and didn’t put much effort in, and the crowd turned on him for this. Kid Romeo made his UWE debut hot off the heat for Cage, and took it all in his stride, thriving on the atmosphere. Romeo came off with numerous lariats, and generally looked impressive. He’ll be a decent figure for UWE. A quick head scissors lock wears down Cage, and Romeo follows up with a chin lock. Romeo worked on the back of the neck throughout the contest, and later put Cage out of his misery with his “Last Kiss” finisher.

Winner via pin fall – Kid Romeo

UWE World Title – Number One Contendership – Ultimate Experience

Ace Steele Vs Eddie Valentine Vs Doug Basham Vs Test Vs Jimmy Rave Vs Mark Copani Vs Steve Blackman Vs Rhino Vs Shannon Moore Vs Trevor Murdoch

The rules are simple. All 10 men are allowed 10 feet outside the ring, and only that. The title can change hands as many times as humanly possible inside the 20 minute time limit, when the 20 minute time limit expires, the wrestler with the pin fall will be declared the winner.

This contest was basically an absolute brawl. All ten men wanted the shot at the UWE World title, of course they did. Who wouldn’t? The first man to take the pin fall was Steve Blackman, he ran off into the crowd with a kendo stick, trying to fend off any possible advances. All 9 wrestlers clearly were annoyed at this, and all 9 men went after Blackman, beating him down. Basham went for the cover, but Valentine broke it up. Valentine went for the cover, but Basham broke it up, and so forth until another brawl between all 10 men ensued. Mark Copani was apart of a vicious spot with Shannon Moore. Moore had been working on Copani, taking him down with clothesline. Shannon went off the ropes and Copani, out of no where hip tossed Moore over the top rope. The pin fall went to everyone except Murdoch, who was too busy in pummeling anyone and everyone. With 30 seconds left, and the anarchy already in place, Rhino gored Jimmy Rave, and in the dying seconds he snatched the win from Rave. Prince Nana was livid, screaming and jumping up and down at ringside. Rhino looked to the crowd; Nana’s face said it all. Rhino went off the ropes, dived through the ropes and caught Nana with a gore.

Winner and new UWE World Title Number One Contender – Rhino

Katsuyori Shibata Vs Samoa Joe

To be fair, Shibata has had it rough. Last month he faced Lesnar, and this month he’s facing Samoa Joe. Again, he put on a fantastic match; this guy has a great work ethic. Shibata didn’t hold back, he leathered Joe with straight punches to the forehead, and Joe retaliated with the same. Shibata went across the ring and hit Joe with a two footed dropkick, sending the big man into the ropes, Shibata jumped up, and met the boot of Joe, and it came across and slapped the taste out of Shibata’s mouth. Joe nearly pulled Shibata’s arm out of his socket, as he tightened it up with holds. Joe lifted Shibata onto the top rope. Shibata kicked him away, and dived at the Samoan Submission Machine, only to be caught; Joe dropped him onto his head. The crowd loved this. Joe, seeing a possible focus point worked on Shibata’s right arm, doing everything with in his power to take the right arm out of the equation. Shibata came off with a few chops, Joe retaliated again, and back and forth we went with a sick chop-fest. Shibata cheaply raked the eye of Joe. This only angered the big man, and he stiffed the living shit out of Shibata with punches and head buts. Shibata came off the ropes, and went for a jumping splash, but Joe caught him, and went for a Samoan Drop. Shibata tried to wriggle out of the hold, and he was incredibly close to succeeding, until Joe hit the Muscle Buster for the pin fall.

Winner via pin fall – Samoa Joe

Chris Jericho said that he was determined to go out of the wrestling business on a high. He says that he’s studied Brock Lesnar, and knows him from his tenure with the WWE. Jericho reeled off classic quotes about Lesnar, calling his match against Goldberg at Wrestlemania, an eye opener. Jericho said that he was not prepared to lose his final match, especially against Lesnar. He said he would give it his all, like he has done throughout his career.

****Major Announcement****

UWE’s very own commissioner Erik Watts made his way to ringside wearing a fancy suit and sunglasses. Various fans at ringside hurled popcorn boxes at Watts, who simply laughed at the heat.

Watt’s called these fans ignorant, and told them to leave the building or he’d have Giant Bernard come down and forcefully remove them. This only resulted in a “Fuck you Albert” chant. Watts meanwhile got on with business, and announced that on January the 3rd UWE would be competing on a national scale. Watts shooted on ROH, saying that they had been in business for four years and failed to get a TV deal, whilst UWE had been in business for two months and managed to get a deal. Everyone knew it was down to Jerry Hall’s connections at DirectTV. The same TV Company that is scheduled to host the Jerry Hall Story, a look back at the 4 time Super Bowl winner’s career.

Bryan Danielson Vs Matt Stryker

Stryker came here with an agenda, to get his name out there with the UWE crowd. Stryker was subjected to chants from the UWE crowd such as “Fucking teach”. Danielson came with the same attitude that he adapted last month, and the crowd tore him to shreds as well, they still respected the match quality, which received a round of applause by all after. As one would expect this contest was a technical warfare. Holds & locks, counters and strikes, it was a decent match it has to be said. Danielson focused on the left arm of Stryker, wrenching it back when he could. Stryker wasn’t given a seconds rest, and neither was Danielson. The finish came about when Stryker had a Boston crab locked in, Danielson was able to worm his way out of it, flicking Stryker over his back, and into the cattle mutilation.

Winner via submission – Bryan Danielson

Mike Kruel was backstage with Gary Steele. They both contested that they were going to take the company by storm. Steele nodded in agreement with everything that Kruel said. They both looked displeased at not being booked, but indicated that they were going after the tag titles. When the interrupting Adam Windsor informed both men that UWE didn’t have tag belts yet they promised revenge on Windsor, for basically making them look like fools. Totally unaware that their pink shorts already made them look foolish.

UWE World Title – Cage Match

Paul Burchill Vs Low Ki – Defense Number 1

Defense number 1 got under way for Paul Burchill. Both men tied up and dance about the ring with the lock in place. Low Ki broke it with a kick to the side, and drove the UWE World champion into the side of the cage. He repeated again, raking Burchill’s head against the steel. Burchill elbowed in anger, delivering a knee to the gut, and landing a gut wrench suplex. Burchill dragged the challenger up, and rammed him into the turnbuckle, taking open shots, and slaps. Low Ki reversed and slapped Burchill across the chest, Burchill did the same. Easily annoyed, Burchill pummeled Low Ki to the mat, and stomped all over him. Burchill posed to the crowd, who ate up his every pose, and stomped again, all over Low Ki’s stomach region as the crowd cheered in delight. Low Ki managed to get back into the contest, and it was definitely a close call. Low Ki nearly won the belt, only to be suplexed off the top of the cage. Burchill slowly climbed the cage, to retain his belt.

Winner and STILL UWE World Champion – Paul Burchill

After the match Rhino made an appearance, he took a cheap shot at the champion, drilling his back into the cage and busting him open with sick punch shots. Rhino finally went to the back after road agents came out to interfere in the beat down.

Brock Lesnar Vs Chris Jericho

He’s wrestled all over the world, and tonight his last match came to the UWE. After years of political injustice, Chris Jericho was out to prove just exactly what he could do inside the squared circle. There’s absolutely no doubt that fans hadn’t forgot, and would never forget the legacy of Chris Jericho. Lesnar and Jericho created a match that was an excellent tribute to the first ever undisputed champion. Jericho and Lesnar had the crowd eating out of the palm of their hands. A lion heart during the first 10 minutes had the crowd singing along during the pin, but Lesnar wasn’t going to be beaten that easily, of course he wasn’t. Lesnar played the heel; he was here to spoil the party. Lesnar lifted Jericho up into a military press, and viciously dropped him onto the top turnbuckle, before delivering a nicely executed release German suplex. Lesnar went to the top, looked to his left, the crowd at ringside jumped up, “No way. No”. Lesnar jumped into the air, and flipped over into a shooting star press, but Jericho managed to roll out of the ring, just in time as Lesnar came down hard onto the canvas. Both men went at it for just over 30 minutes. Jericho had the Walls Of Jericho locked in, but Lesnar managed to push him off. Jericho went for an elbow to the head, but Lesnar hoisted him up onto his shoulders and hit the F5 for the victory.

Winner via pin fall – Brock Lesnar

After the match Jericho extended his hand, but Lesnar spat in his face. Lesnar jumped onto Jericho and started leathering him with shots to the face. Lesnar bit at Jericho’s forehead before chucking him over the top rope. Samoa Joe appeared at the ramp way, stealing Lesnar’s attention. Lesnar and Joe glared at each other, before Joe walked backstage again, with Lesnar left on screen smirking.

Pro Wrestling Insight

Why Dreamer Vs Richards was pulled from Christmas Chaos

Tommy Dreamer Vs Stevie Richards was pulled from the UWE Christmas Chaos PPV at the very last minute after Richards collapsed backstage. Richards was rushed to a near by hospital and is currently receiving treatment. It is believed that Richards will be out of action for a few weeks. Meanwhile, Dreamer will make his UWE debut on the upcoming show. The show name is yet to be revealed.

A bombshell was dropped at Christmas Chaos last night, when Erik Watts announced that UWE had managed to achieve a TV deal after only being in the business for two months. Of course, this goes in time with the Jerry Hall and DirectTV deal, with DirectTV desperate to land Hall’s documentary, which many critics argue is a “fantastic insight into the mind and working of professional football.” Both parties are happy, and UWE will be open to a wider audience. With wrestlers like Brock Lesnar main eventing the card, it’s definitely a good time to be a wrestling fan.

Rhino is the new number one contender for the UWE World title, after putting on a good display against 9 other competitors. It’s funny that the only man that didn’t pick up a pin fall last night was the bumbling Trevor Murdoch. Unlucky Trev’. Speaking of the UWE World title number one contendership, Test looked to be in great form last night. He was vicious, he was sneaky, and he pulled off a good match, arguably one of his better performances.

UWE bagged their second 5 star match in a matter of months last night; Samoa Joe Vs Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata has been in lethal form for the company, and sources claim that a push is in order.

UWE were teasing a Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe confrontation last night. After Lesnar beat down Jericho, Joe made his way out onto the ramp, resulting in a stare down, before walking to the back. Joe Vs Lesnar, anyone? Hell yeah.

Curse of the UWE World title?

Raven last month jumped ship when the WWE came knocking after his performance in the over the top rope elimination match and it has occurred again. WWE have announced on WWE.com that they have agreed a deal with independent worker Low-Ki. We aren’t exactly sure as to how UWE management has reacted, but sources claim that the company is happy to do business with McMahon, after Vince generously “lent” UWE Brock Lesnar. The feeling backstage is that UWE will continue to do business with the WWE. This comes after news that Jerry Hall had informed Raven that he would never appear in a UWE ring. The full scale of the story is that Raven was supposed to sign a written contract with TNA, and apparently gave Hall his word that he wouldn’t be signing a written contract with anyone. As we all know, he totally defied Hall, and Hall believes the situation was handled incredibly unprofessionally

Christmas Chaos Buy rate Revealed
