Saw *Possible Spoilers*

November 10, 2006 - Hot off the box office success of Saw III, Lionsgate has announced that Saw IV is set for a release date of Oct 26, 2007. That is in keeping with the franchise's tradition of Halloween openings.

While no news has been officially announced, Bloody-Disgusting.com is reporting that series veteran Leigh Whannell won't be back to script the fourth installment.

Instead, the site claims, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton will script Saw IV. Dunstan and Melton also penned the horror flick Feast, which was produced as a result of the Project Greenlight competition.

Furthermore, Bloody Disgusting says that two other scribes are working on the project as well. Thomas Fenton (Red) was identified as one; the other remains a mystery.

With a Halloween release date now set, one would expect principal photography to have to begin on Saw IV by early-to-mid '07.

Fucking stupid. They barely had enough material to fill Saw 3, it almost became solely about the deaths. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly didn't make me want to weatch a fourth film in the series.
