The Resource Directory

Recommended Posts

I was speaking with Norro about the Photoshop last night because I was given Photoshop 7 as a very late christmas gift from my brother and I was just asking some general overall questions about and then I brought up the resource thread and how half the links didn't work in there. He said he had planned on updating it sooner or later, and seeing as how I have no class today and I'm bored to death, I've decided to go ahead and start updating it.

GML Matting

This is a freeware tool for Photoshop , PSP , Gimp and other imaging apps. It's like Photoshops extract feature but it seems to work better for me. I've used it on 10 images so far and I love it heres the pro and cons imo.

Pro:

Completely Freeware

Works for different applications

Small filesize (almost 2 mb)

The ability to automatically place your result in a layer mask (as far as I know PS Extract tool doesn't allow this)

it does it job and pretty damn good one at that.(I've never been able to make a decent extraction with Photoshop's tool. With this tool on the first try I got a awesome extraction. had to tidy some strands of hair but since it loads into a layer mask afterwards that was easy to fix.(

Cons:

It's slightly slow. it took a minute or two to render my extraction . I expect this will be worked out in future releases

Truly a great app
