Original Xbox Games

I know this is possible but I was wondering how do you get the 360 to play original Xbox games?

Simply put in the disc. Not all games are supported though, here's the current list:

Unless you're talking about the recent addition of Xbox Originals on Xbox Live Arcade. For those, all you gotta do is download them like any other XBLA game.

Okay I checked that list and it says that a software emulator is required for each game I play on the 360. What is this?

As long as you're connected to Xbox Live (silver will do) it'll download the update and the game will play. There's no onboard Xbox original hardware, so they have to make an emulator for each game and you have to download it for every game you want to play.

It's really nowhere near as difficult as it sounds.

Providing you're online the Xbox does everything for you, you just need to make sure the game you want to play is on the backwards compatible list.
