It barely looked like Witt touched him. If Hagman got concussed from the gust of wind the dude created by skating by, he shouldn't be playing hockey.

If Witt had lined him up there, with Hagman's head on the puck like that, he'd be dead.

It was the camera angles that made it look like he barely got him. And your right - if Witt had really wanted to take Hagman's head off, he could have.

TIMMY STAPLETON!

I'm glad I FINALLY got to see this guy play after hearing so much about him. He played very well all game and got rewarded with a chance to win it which he did with a beauty of a shot. Kudos to Ron Wilson for giving him the chance. The only problem I can see with him is his lack of size.

Also, the new rumor is that the deal between Pittsburgh and Anaheim is actually a three way deal involving Toronto:

Pittsburgh Adds: Kaberle, Stajan

Toronto Adds: Staal, Tangradi

Personally I'd like to see us get a pick of some sort but even if not, that would be a pretty sweet deal. We get a guy who can easily be a number one center, and a real gem of a prospect (who Burke actually drafted himself which gives this rumor some weight), to play on the wing.

And if you ask me, Burke's price is perfect. Unless we get the moon for him, I want Tomas here for as long as possible.

Is he worth what Burke is telling the world he is? If you are looking at just Tomas' face value, probably not. From that perspective, it's a clear overshoot in price. Look at this way; In Tomas Kaberle you get a proven veteran point producing, playmaking, powerplay specialist with playoff experience and can act in a leader role. At 4.25 a season until 2010/11, he's freaking steal! You can plug him into your line up and he's of low cap consequence compared other D-men of his caliber. If Burke is serious about moving Tomas, I wouldn't be too surprised if he get closer to what he's asking for than people expect.

But the reasons I stated are the exact reason Tomas needs to stay. He'll showcase here more than he will anywhere else and this is where he'll play his most comfortable hockey. Tomas is a key player for us for the rebuilding stages. A leader who at defense can control our offense and as long as he keeps playing like he always has, he should stay valuable on the market if he needs to be shipped out for whatever reason. Lets just say in a a few years things start to turn around, we'd be at the front of the line to hand Tomas a new contract if he could continue to help the Leafs.

You don't play sports, do you?

If I was Mike Cammalleri, I would find a way to stay in Calgary. That is such a great fit for him.

This... exactly.

Not just because he's producing... but because he's having fun. His presence there takes a load of pressure off the shoulders of Iginla. I can't remember a time when Iggy slumped for a period of more than five games and I wasn't worried about the team. I can do that now, because I know Cammy is leading the charge, and guys like Bertuzzi, Bourque, Langkow, Moss, Glenncross and Conroy are going to deliver as well.

If we were going into the post-season completely healthy, I'd say that we were just as formidable as San Jose or Detroit. As it stands though, I see a few holes that need fixing, but I'm still confident that we'll be a tough team to play come spring.

Rumours abound that the Avs are looking to move Lappy if they can't get a deal done. Which sucks, because he's underpaid as it is, so he's not going to want to take a cut (which he was reportedly offered). He's one of the best things about the team at the moment, a warrior on the ice, a fan favourite and he also does lots of work in the community, they'd be fucking stupid to deal him. The line with him Guite and McCormick is doing really well, why mess it up?

Leopold I'm not too fussed about, I'd like to see Guite, the Cody Macs and Hensick stick around. Svatos is a bugger because I love him, but he's just not enough of a presence to be a top-6 forward, he's not consistently good. Any deal we do make needs to involve washing our hands of Tyler fucking Arnason though, dead weight much?

Kaberle and Van Ryn are back for tonights game against the Senators. I want to see Kaberle just dominate out there, wow the crap out of the scouts, and get us all the first round picks in the draft.

Then we could get everyone we want!

Footer and Salei should be untouchable. The rest of our D can FUCK RIGHT OFF. Yes, even Liles. Arnason, if he was willing to go 1-mil or less, might just be an OK third line forward. I'm not too inlove with the Cody Macs, I would love to see Guite/Hensick/David Jones stick around as our energy line.

Wolski/Hejduk/Stastny/Smyth are set among our top-six forwards...Sakic if he sticks around

Lappy/Arnason/Open Spot (two possibly, i'm not married to the idea of him being around)

Guite/Jones/Hensick

Foote/Salei/ TIME FOR REBUILDING

Raycroft to serve backup/NEED A STARTER

This leaves us with:

Svatos, the Cody Macs, Leopold, Liles, Hannan, Tjarnqvist, Budaj and maybe Brett Clark (fine 6th/7th dman, he could potentially stay)

to play around with.
