Bands you inexplicably love.

Come on. Everyone's got them. Bands that rock/rocked your world but the reasoning for it escapes you. If asked why you like the particular band, you just wouldn't be able to come up with a reason.

I can only really think of five bands that fall into this category for me:

Wheatus - Their self-titled debut was one of the first albums I ever bought and although I grew up to shun most bands like them, that album will always be one of my guilty pleasures. Just over 30 minutes of sheer personal nostalgia. I've actually been to see them live - 2 local support acts, every song from the first album, 2 hour gig in total - cost me £3. Awesome night.

Junior Senior - Potentially the happiest group I've ever heard of - got into them originally due to "Move Your Feet", bought their first album "D-D-Don't Stop The Beat", was charmed utterly by it. And then I forgot all about them until I found their second album on Napster - fell in love with them again. And I am definitely not into overly happy synth-led Euro funk as a rule - but they kick ass IMO. (I'm not sure if "overly happy synth-led Euro funk is an actual genre...might have to check that)

The Coral - Potentially my favourite band of all time, yet when asked about it, I can never explain it. The ambience, the vocals, the lyrics, the different sounds they can create just speak to me. I know that they have made some surreal stuff in the past (Simon Diamond being the perfect example - a song about a man that turns into a tree  ) but they also create effortlessly catchy pop tunes (Dreaming Of You, Pass It On, In The Morning, Who's Gonna Find Me? etc.) To me, they are just a great band. Pretty sure they'll be many that disagree, but I couldn't care less. To me, they = win.

Milburn - A shameless Arctic Monkeys rip-up (explainable enough seeing as how the lead singers know each other) that sadly split up last year and yet I think they had as much an ear for a jaunty tune as the Monkeys. Have only got "Well Well Well" ATM, although I have heard most of their second album "These Are The Facts".

The Von Bondies - A band that disappeared off the face of the earth in 2004, probably most famous amongst White Stripes fans as the "band-with-the-lead-singer-that-Jack-White-beat-the-crap-out-of". I've got one of their albums, Pawn Shoppe Heart, but I remember loving the crap out of it when I was 16 - probably listened to it over and over for a good three weeks. And the worst bit about it was, I later heard the Subways, who sound like the VB's in many ways, and I inexplicably hated the Subways. Inexplicably. I then re-listened to the album and thought, "Fuck. This sounds exactly like the Subways. That's annoying." I listened to it again about two months again and found myself liking it against my will. Ah well...

Anyway, what examples of you guys got?
